Thank goodness the food arrived soon after, set out fresh and warm, like the cooks knew when they would be arriving. Mysha snorted as, after eating the bacon Arcane brought, Ligach sniffed around for more bacon to being back like a trade. Letting the dogs have their fun, so long as they didn't start hopping on the tables, Mysha started collecting food for herself, her stomach growling. Not taking long to start tucking in, Mysha groaned softly in satisfaction at the taste, which was definitely better than what she and Drake had been having while on the run.

After breakfast was finished, Drake sat back with a sigh of satisfaction. “Mmm that was delicious he said happily as he licked his lips. He looked over at Mysha and smiled. “Ready to take on the day?”

Mysha nodded in agreement at the comment on breakfast, looking over as Drake asked if she was ready for the day. "Yes," she said with another nod. Then, as if on cue, Rhayne approached their table, bowing as he said "Well then, I've already got a bit of a task for you. Apparently Ghio has been seen around the southern forest with some followers I suppose." Now, to any outsider it would just sound like some bitter people were conspiring, but Mysha furrowed her brow. "Great," she snorted, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Just great. Out of all the things to start the day with." Rhayne then suggested "I can take some soldiers and-" He immediately stopped when Mysha held up her hand and said "Not unless Drake and I go with you. Maybe I'll get a new spear faster than I thought." Rhayne tsked, telling her "There could be traps, so I think right now you shouldnt-" Mysha raised a brow at him, and he immediately shut up again before simply nodding once.

Drake growled softly with anger and his one hand lit on fire at the mention of Ghio. “It’s time to end this. We find Ghio, we kill him.” He said simply as he got up. He looked down at Mysha. “If you want to do that, that is.”

Mysha stood up as well, nodding. "That would be on the list, yes, but there's also something we would need to check in that area first." Glancing over when Lifach barked curiously, she hummed in thought. "If Ma'ait and Shard aren't back, we will have to take horses. I'd prefer not to wait." She was already on her way out though, to see if there would be any sign of the dragons, Rhayne leaving to gather some soldiers.

“Hey wait up!” Drake said as he ran after her and Ligach, Arcane hot on his heels. He looked around as well, wondering what happened to their dragon’s. “They must’ve gone away a ways so they wouldn’t be in danger.” He commented as he came up behind his leader, staying close to her. “Did they return?” He asked as he looked around with her.

Mysha looked around upon getting outside. They weren't in sight, and she assumed they would find no need to go looking around without their owners. She was just about to decide that they were to go to the stables to pick out some of the available horses, but she saw two dragons descending from the sky. Smiling, she stepped up as Ma'ait touched down, chirping happily as her rider rubbed her snout. "Hoped you two had a good trip," Mysha told her "Cause we've got somewhere to go." Her dragon merely twitched her wings before allowing Mysha to climb on.

Drake helped Mysha up onto Ma’ait just as his favorite dragon descended and he got up onto him and the man took off. “Alright then. Once Rhayne is ready we can go.” Drake said as he looked down at Mysha with a loving gaze.

Mysha looked over at Drake, looking away shyly. Soon, Rhayne showed up with his people again, ready to follow the two riders. Mysha told Ligach to run with Rhayne and his group, watching the hound bound a few circles around Arcane before running over to the horses. She then patted Ma'ait a few times before the dragoness flew up into the sky to lead the way to the mentioned forest.

Arcane barked as Ligach ran circles around him and he followed after the other dog, woofing happily. Shard chuckled and watched as his partner flew off on her dragon and he followed, black flames covering him and forming armor, slashing the air a couple times. The two males soon caught up to their females and Drake smiled at Mysha. “We can do this Mysha! Let’s finish this!” He said.

Mysha nodded once, a look of determination on her face. Looking ahead, she could hear the thunder of hooves again as the horses followed. The trip didn't take too long, as they were eventually met with a spread of forestry. However, the entire spread of plantlife was... black. Not from being burned or anything, just black. Mysha had Ma'ait land, not looking as the others caught up. Along with the peculiar color of the forest, everything just gave off an ominous vibe.

Drake had Shard land next to Ma’ait and Drake instantly leaped off. He drew the sword he’d been given the prior night and it was covered in purple flames. He looked around slowly, black armor glinting softly in the limited light. “Where are you Ghio...” he mumbled, staying in front of the leader he was sword to protect.

Mysha looked around, feeling a little useless in her current state with no weapon, again, and no armor yet as it wasn't finished. So, she told Drake "Follow Rhayne. We need to check something." Rhayne was leading the way somewhere, Mysha walking a little behind Drake when he followed. Everyone was on high alert, weapons drawn and ready to attack as they kept an eye out for any movement, which would be clear to see due to everyone looking like a bright colour against the black forest.

Drake walked along with the army, ensuring he was always on guard and protecting Mysha. All he could do right now was protect her. Both emotionally and physically, his entire being was devoted to protecting her. He was under her ‘spell’ of love and care, and he didn’t mind at all. “This isn’t going to be easy...” he muttered as he continued to walk.

Mysha shook her head. "No, it isn't." For all they knew, Ghio had cleared out. Finally , after a short while of walking, they stopped in a clearing. There was a huge hole in the middle. How far it went was unclear, as there were flames bubbling up from the hole and scratching at the air. Around the hole were six huge dog statues, with a line of chains going from their mouths and into the firey hole. What was different was how they were positioned. Everywhere else they were always facing away from what they were trying to protect. These statues were facing toward the hole. They weren't there to protect something. They were making sure whatever was down there stayed down there.

“Any idea what this is?” He asked, stepped back a bit. It was clearly something they shouldn’t release. “This is something we clearly don’t want to mess with.” He said, turning to Mysha and walking back to her.

Mysha hummed. "One of the reasons humans have dragons, from what we are all told. Or any inhuman creature really." Studying the setting, she continued "Story states that a monster spread its darkness in the form of a dragon usually. Death followed wherever it went, and it tricked many into doing its bidding only to kill them too when the job was done." She scratched her chin. "It's freedom was long before the peak of tech though, being trapped here long before we ever even saw a wheel invented." She pulled a face. "Ghio and Olic always talked of finding a way to pull the chains up though, but no one has ever been successful."

“I see.” Drake said as he studied the hole. “And hopefully such a method will never be found.” He said with a growl. “This hole itself is too ominous to be good anyway.” He muttered. He turned back to Mysha and stayed close enough so that she could feel his affection but not too close ether. “Is there any way to seal the hole permanently?”

Mysha shrugged. "I don't know. If there is, we have yet to discover such a way. As long as no one tampers with the setup here though... we should be fine. The trap has taken care of itself since it was constructed." There was a crack nearby, and Mysha turned, looking among the trees. You could see shapes moving, but it was hard because their apparel was almost the same shade as the plantlife, and they would settle and almost completely "disappear."

Drake too heard the cracks in the near distance and he instantly dodged around Mysha and stood between her and the woods. He formed a ball of flame in his one hand, tossed the ball up a little then slammed the flame ball with his sword, sending it flying in the direction of the noises nearby.

Rhayne told the group to spread out, Mysha staying with Drake. The shapes scattered at the fire, hissing and spreading out too. No sign of Ghio though. No one came forward to attack, so Rhayne told some to go after the movement. That's when the arrows flew by, Ma'ait growling and sending flames in that direction angrily.

Shard snarled when they were fired upon and he shot fire back, clearly not liking having arrows whizzing by his head. “Those imbeciles!”
Arcane let out a loud woof of indignation. Did these people not know who was in front of them?!
“Don’t Like Fire huh?” Drake mumbled, smirking a little. He brought his swilled up, burning with fire, and swung at the air, sending a blade of dark fire sailing towards the enemy, growing wider as it flew.

The shapes moved to avoid the fire, and Mysha watched as Ligach raced off into the trees to go and get in on the action. As fighting broke out, Mysha saw someone out of the corner of her eye. Mask closed over their face, holding what looked like two large dragon eggs as they scurried over to the hole. Before they could get close enough to throw them in, they were impaled by a spear thrown by one of Rhayne's men. The person shrieked, falling. The eggs rolled away, one falling right into the hole, while the other teetered on the edge, its shell slowly turning black from burns, which was odd considering it was a dragon egg. It slowly teetered toward falling in.

Larkes instantly saw through the plot and he shook his head, and with a quick flick of the wrist his sword was out and the tip inches from the other man’s throat. “I think not. If you want any talks to happen, they’ll happen out here.” He said, eyes deadly calm and serious. “Your plots are all but worthless in front of me.” with his best look of innocence he shook his head. "W-we can do it out here, okay!" He stepped back, and motioned to the men at the open gate. "Table, chairs, drinks! At once!" He commanded. They were quick to go. Aldnoa smiled. Exactly the kind of kid he wished to have with him.

Alright I’ll try to think of some plots))
“Arcane!” Drake said, pointing to the egg. Arcane nodded and dashed towards the hole, managing to knock the egg back from the edge before it got burned and before he could get burned. He then guarded the egg and protected it from any other enemy. Drake snarled and continued to blast at the enemies. He was saddened that the other egg had fallen in but he also knew that trying to get that one would be suicidal.

“Just drinks for you.” He said. “I’ll have my own.” He said, knowing poison was also a good way to deal with some problems. He waited for the items to be brought out then he sat down across from the man.

Mysha eventually heard someone telling to fall back, and the shapes began to flee, regaining cover in the trees and bushes. She could smell blood though, and wondered if any of theirs had died. Some of the enemies did, seeing their bodies on the ground. Once the coast was clear, she walked up to one of the bodies, examining their armor and faces. "They lived here," she decided "Or at least spent a lot of time here." That meant there was possibly a camp or a base. Rhayne suggested they go looking, but Mysha shook her head. "No. Follow them, and catch one of you can. We will question them about this mess." It was almost an unspoken rule to not take up residence of any kind in this forest, rumour being that prolonged presence around the hole... changed you, if you didn't have a strong will. Rhayne nodded before sending a group out, leaving with them.
