Hello!
As someone who hasn't made a clan before (at least on WCRP) I wanted to get some help since I'm still fairly new to the forums! The clan I've been planning on creating for a few days now is called Beachclan.
..........................................................
Territory and over-all map
I've planned out a rough draft of what the clan camp and surrounding territory looks like.
- Beachclan Camp
A large cave within the side of a cliff. While there is not cavern system, smaller holes and 'mini' caves are found within and used as dens.
- Starpool
A small group of tidepools that sit just before the low-tide shoreline. This place is sacred and only visited by the Medicine cat(s) of Beachclan once every 6 moons or once a cat has died.
- Dead Rocks
The dead rocks are sharp rocks found on the split off part of the Cliffside. The split out is what separates the Twolegs and Beachclan's beaches and keeps Beachclan safe for the most part. The Dead Rocks were named this after a young she-cat fell from the cliff's edge and into the rocks deadly grasp.
- Training Dunes
These small barriers of sand with grass poking through bridge out into a flatter elevated, but still bumpy, area. This is the training dune, where apprentices go to learn battling moves from their mentors. This sits a few lengths past the Grand Arch
- Twoleg's Place
A small city with two large hotels, this place only sees real activity when Greenleaf arrives.
- Greenleaf Beach
The twolegs side of the beach named this after the cats realized Twolegs only go there primarily during Greenleaf.
- Beachclan's Beach
The beachside opposite to Greenleaf beach.
- Forest
The forest raised above on the cliff. The only way to access it is through the climbable slope edge on the side near the Training Dunes. No one really uses this unless prey is low or a medicine cat is in need of more herbs.
- The Cliff (non-labeled)
The cliff that provides Beachclan their cave/home and holds the twolegs back and the forest up.
- Evacuation Camp
In case of a major emergency (ie: flooding, hurricanes or perhaps even a cave in) this extra area atop the cliff and near the slop has been designated to be the evacuation camp. Apprentices are first shown where and how to get to it on their first day, typically after the ceremony.
The Camp Map
- Warriors Den
The first largest den and completely connected to the apprentice's den. This houses the warriors and is located in a small cave pocket. It is at a lower level than the apprentice den but has a high roof. A barrier is built up / replaced every few moons between the apprentice and warrior's spaces. The entrance slopes down into a medium sized room of nests
- Apprentice's Den
This is the fourth largest den and houses the apprentices. It is a short level above the warrior's den but is still connected to it. Every few moons more wet mud or sand and rocks is added to a small barrier like wall between the two dens. Has a seemingly lower roof than the warrior's den, however, that is because the warrior's den is steeper. The room slopes down into a medium sized room but it is not as deep down as the warrior's den.
- Nursery
Kits and Queens are here, this is the second largest den. It has no actual wall to make the front since its in a corner so a small barrier is made and redone every few moons to act as an entrance.
- Medicine Cat's Den
The third largest den, this is where the medicine cat stores their herbs and sleeps along with housing sick cats.
- Elder's Den
Directly across from the Warrior's & Apprentice's Den. This is the second smallest den
- Leader's Den
Under and within the speaking ledge, this will fit the leader and his or her mate. This is the smallest den
- Speaking Ledge
A second level of ground where the leader makes announcements at clan gatherings
- Forgotten Lake
A caved-in lake within the cave. It hasn't been mentioned in many moons, most cats have even forgotten it exists.
Traditions / Things to know
- Apprentices will collect seashells along the beach as a part of their chore duties.
- Medicine cats use shells as herb storage unless it is a conch shell.
- All Conch shells found outside of the starpools should not be used nor brought to camp
- The medicine cats while in starpool will search for a conch shell. Conch shells found in starpool are believed to be a way to communicate with starclan. A fresh one is supposed to be found every 6 moons. Any shells or starfish found inside of starpool (excluding conch) are to be used during burials or special ceremonies.
- When a cat has died, their family members and the medicine cat adorn them with shells and dried up starfish before sending them off to sea.
- Bioluminescense within the water occurs on some nights and is named starlight tides. The medicine cats will often sit along the shores or in the water as these tides rush along. These are sacred and believed to be starclan's physical prescence as it looks like glowing stars in the water.
- I am thinking about shell instead of star for the suffix of a leaders name.
- Prey is as follows: Small crabs (common), saltwater fish (Common), Plovers (common), gulls (uncommon), mice (uncommon),
- Predators or Threats are as follows: smaller sharks (rare), dogs (uncommon but present in greenleaf), foxes (rare and in the forest), jellyfish (rare), twolegs (rare, in greenleaf they are uncommon), large crabs (common, threat to mainly kits), birds of prey (usually after the baby turtles or fish however kits and smaller cats will be caught too from time to time) (they are uncommon), Larger gulls (Common)
- Other creatures: Turtles (uncommon)
For now this is a rough draft and i need help on planning this out better and coming up with ceremonies and traditions!!
