Draco
Fel and her brother are dragon hunters—at least, Fel wants to be a dragon hunter, but her brother refuses to let her anywhere near a dragon. After the death of their parents, he is her legal guardian and won't just leave her behind, but he won't teach her how to hunt. So as they travel the country following tips about dragon sightings, she gets left in their hotel or inn, while he goes hunting. Until one day when she decided enough is enough and follows him. Not all that adept at tracking, however, she soon loses him—and stumbles upon the very dragon he is hunting. She flees, only to find her way blocked by a massive boulder. But when the dragon catches up to her, she discovers its not a rock, but a camouflaged Shade Draco. Rather than help his fellow dragon hunt her, the Shade helps her, fighting and chasing off the other dragon. Days later, Fel discovers a shocking secret: her brother is a Draco, and she is half-dragon.
World: This plot takes place on earth, where dragon exist and live in hiding in plain view because they've evolved the ability to take human form. There are four different species of Draco: Shade, Bronze, Silver, and Gold.
Shade Draco's are considered the weakest magic-wise, though they are the biggest and strongest species physically, and the most common. They can control shadows and darkness, are masters of camouflage (they can literally blend in with anything, some going so far as to actually turn into the thing they are blending with), and are excellent fighters, even without training. In dragon form, Shade Draco's have black scales.
Bronze Draco's are the second most common species, and they can control one of the four elements: earth, air, water, or fire. Whichever element they control determines the colour of their dragon's scales (green and/or brown for earth, greys and pale blues for air, dark blues and/or greens for water, and red/orange/yellow for fire). Their element also determines their size: earth-wielding Bronze Draco's are the biggest, sometimes growing as big as a Shade, while air-wielders are the smallest.
Silver Draco's only come in silver, and they are the second most powerful magically, and the second rarest. They come in various sizes, and have very powerful magic that often has to do with the mind. Telekinesis, mind reading, and casting illusions are a few examples.
Then there's the Gold, the rarest and most powerful of them all. There is only ever one in existence at a time, and it is able to wield all the powers of all the other species. In its true form, it is an absolutely massive golden dragon—but the key words here are "true form." A Gold is born with only one species' power, as a camouflage strategy to avoid being detected as the Gold. It will start coming into the rest of its powers as it grows.
Characters
Dakoda_Blu's Characters Link | 21 | Male Link is tall and fit, with a lean build. He stands at 6 foot 1 and weighs roughly 150 pounds. His skin is a natural deep tan, his hands calloused from a life of hard work. His hair night-black and with a blueish sheen, especially in bright light. He tried to keep it cut short, but he is often forgetting and letting it grow out past his ears. His eyes are a bright golden amber, unusual but not odd for a Draco. | Link is a calm and rather unexcitable guy. Not because he's not interested in things, but because he's living his life in hiding and he does everything he can to go unnoticed. In private he's a little more open and honest with his emotions. He is incredibly smart, he can be borderline fearless as his powers grow in strength, he fears very little beside being discovered as the Gold), and he has a wry sense on humour. He is kind and understanding, and he has no prejudices towards humans; he was raised by human parents, after all. He's quick-thinking and has great reflexes, but he's also pretty hard-headed and stubborn when he wants to be. | Link is the Gold Draco, but he has yet to fully awaken the powerful beast crawling beneath his skin. He lives his life under the guise of a Shade drake. When he takes dragon form, he is very large, even for the species. His scales are the same night-black as his hair, but instead of reflecting light with a blueish sheen, his scales are so dark they almost seem to absorb the light.

The two had set up in a small motel alongside a near-abandoned highway nearly three days ago. There were almost never any cars passing through in the time they'd been here, presumably because of a handful of dragon sightings. After compiling all the evidence he could, Blair had triangulated an area on the regional map he'd picked up in the crumby little giftshop just down the road. He set out in the early morning, almost a half-hour before sunrise. He'd expected Fel to be sound asleep, as she wasn't one for mornings, so he didn't check too closely to see if she was actually sleeping or not.
As soon as he'd collected his gear and gone out the door, Fel jumped out of her bed. She changed into a set of clothes she'd set aside under the bed the night before and hurried out the door, room key tucked safely in her back pocket. She was careful to check and make sure Blair was actually rounding the side of the building and heading out into the undeveloped woods before she quietly closed the door and followed after him. She let him gain some distance ahead of her. If he realized she was following behind him, not only would she wind up in a world of trouble, he'd probably call off the hunt just to makes sure she stayed at in the motel.
Once he was out of sight but still within earshot, Fel began moving after him at as quickly as she could while staying quiet. She'd never actually been great at sneaking around, but so the distance between them should help. After nearly an hour of following through the undergrowth, Fel was well-coated in stray leaves with broken thorny branches tangled in some parts of her hair and mud clear up to her knees on her pants and shoes. She was still following the sound of Blair moving through the trees, only following when she could hear him walking. She would have tried following him by normal tracking means, but so far he'd learned that Blair was actually pretty good at passing through an area without a trace. It was partially why she'd never successfully been able to follow him before.
Suddenly, Fel heard Blair break into a sprint and take off. She rose from her crouched position, trying to see where he had gone, or what had made him just run off like that. She wasn't sure, so she pressed forward, moving quickly in the direction where she'd heard him running.

(Sounds good, and also an interesting thought~ Do they come from the same egg or are there twin eggs produced each time a nest is laid?)
Fel continued chasing the fading sounds of the footfalls ahead, no longer hiding herself. If Blair was running like that, something had to be wrong. Whether he was chasing or fleeing, she didn't know but she wanted to be ready to help if he'd gotten himself in trouble.
She heard the footfalls stop and she stopped quickly. She listened for a moment before she started moving forward again, more aggressively than before. She didn't try to stay as hidden, only wanting to figure out what was going on. There was rustling in the shrubs ahead, and she really couldn't think of any reason for Blair to be making noise. As she grew near, she stood up to see a somewhat large figure in between the trees ahead, though it didn't look much like Blair. She frowned and started moving closer. Suddenly the head of a doe lifted from the bushes, mouth full of raspberry tendrils. It stared at her a second then sprinted off again.
She'd been following a stupid deer this entire time? For how long? Where had Blair gone to, and how had she lost him and started following a doe instead? Well, no need for Blair to find out about this. She could go back and watch some TV and pretend she'd been at the motel all morning. She turned around to start making her way back to the motel, but she stopped. The lowlight of the morning made it sort of hard to see anything already, and after sprinting such a long ways, she wasn't sure where to follow back to the motel. She could try her phone, but she'd barely been able to get a signal at the hotel. Out here in the woods, she was better off saving her battery.

( Most Draco have their kids as humans rather than dragons, but it used to be two eggs to a nest. Something else I wasn't sure how to insert into the world explanation: Draco can't produce a species of greater power than itself. Basically what that means is two Shade's can't have any Bronze or Silver kids. two Silvers can produce any species, though usually they will be Silvers. If you mix two species, say a Bronze and a Shade, there's a 50/50 chance the kids will be Shade or Bronze, or one of both. A Silver and a Shade can produce Shade, Silver, or Bronze, but they will most likely be Shade or Silver. Does that make sense or is my explanation crap? )
The fire drake slowly rose to his feet. Moving surprisingly quiet for such a large beast, he stalked through the forest toward the sounds of footsteps. he hadn't gone far before a deer fled by in front of his nose, and he only just managed to check his automatic reaction and snap her up in his jaws. He'd caught a scent on the breeze, one he was much more interested in: human.

Fel stopped when she heard something else a distance behind her. There was something else in the woods. It sounded big. She figured she should get moving. If it was a bear or something, it was best to stay out of its way. If it was bigger than a bear... She didn't want to think about that. She needed to get back to the motel. Fel just chose a direction sort of near where she'd come from and began walking quickly, though this time she did try to be quiet. As long as she reached the road, she could figure out what direction the motel was in and follow the highway back.

Fel heard the ear-splitting roar behind her and she almost staggered at the sound. It was close, and it was so loud. But she couldn't stop just because her head felt like it was going to pop from the noise. The thing was giving chase, and she needed to keep moving. Fel entered a full sprint without turning around. It didn't matter how close the dragon might be, she needed to just keep going. She wasn't sure how long she could outrun such a thing, maybe only a few minutes if she was lucky?

(I meant to reply before that your explanation made perfect sense but idk where that half of the message went.)
Fel still kept running though she heard the beast's footfalls start to move elsewhere. For a brief second she hoped it had found something else to chase, but those hopes were discarded as she saw the beast rounding the treeline. From what she could see, it looked to be massive. And the only creature she could think of that size was a dragon. Hopefully Blair wouldn't be too far behind then. She just had to elude it for a while until he could help.
She turned and started running deeper into the heavier trees. Hopefully she could use the cover to keep her distance and if it had a breath weapon, she could try to stay out of sight.

(Nah, its ok, that happens to me too. Or at least I think I explain things ok but everyone else says I don't ) Fel stumbled back hard, almost losing her footing as a blast of searing heat shot past in front of her. She'd been lucky not to be any closer, or it would have burned her along with the trees and undergrowth. But she didn't have time to dwell on this as she heard the popping and snapping of trees as the dragon began forcing its way into the crowded wood. She recovered herself and began running the opposite direction of the beast, hoping the trees would slow it down enough for her to keep her distance.

Fel didn't have time to worry about being out in the open. She needed to just keep moving and get far away from this monster. It was stupid of her to not even try bringing any sort of weapon out here. At least then she could try to fight back instead of having to scramble to stay ahead of the dragon. As she sprinted out of the treeline and into the tall grass, she picked her next target and kept running. There looked to be a place she could run to past the rock pile. Maybe someplace the dragon couldn't reach her easily, though she'd just seen it breath fire. She'd have to pick a hiding place carefully if she didn't want to get roasted.

The dragon burst from the trees behind the girl a stumbled to a stop. He lifted his head, gaze zeroing in on the fleeing human. His forked tongue tasted the air briefly as he bared his mouthful of wicked sharp teeth in a feral grin. He spread his wings, braced himself for take-off, and launched forward.
A sense of danger woke him from a sleep like hibernation. It took him several seconds to float to the top of consciousness, and when he did, the first thing he did was send out a pulse of magic to discover what had triggered his defenses. The answer was soon clear, and he was beyond surprised. What was a human doing this deep in the forest? But he couldn't dwell on the question; the girl was seconds from death, and while he couldn't remember his own name yet, he knew he couldn't just sit there and let her die. So he dug deep within himself and brought out the beast. Slowly, they grey faded from his scales and deepened into the darkest black. The hard rock dissolved and left a massive scaled form in its place. In the span of seconds, a large pile of boulders turned into a very large Shade Draco. He shook out his body, flared his massive wings wide, and roared. His burning amber gaze landed on the fire drake just as it came crashing down toward the girl. Quick as a whip, his tail shot out and blocked the girl from those deadly teeth.

Fel hadn't realized the dragon behind her had jumped. She was too distracted that yet another dragon had appeared in front of her, right in the direction she'd been trying to flee. The impact of the first dragon landing just behind her sent enough of a shock into the ground that again she lost her footing and unbalanced. It knocked her forward on to her stomach. She pushed up to her feet quickly, trying to move herself out to another direction. She needed to get out from between the two monsters. Her best chance of survival was reaching the treeline again.
She only spared one glance back. Were they chasing or fighting? It was hard to tell which, or why. Deciding to forgo her questions, she kept moving toward the trees. She needed the cover. If they were both after her, she could only hope they'd weaken each other while she found a place to hide.

The fire drake screeched in outrage and pulled away from the Shade, hissing fire from his nostrils. Get out of my way, Shade scum. The human is mine.
The Shade simply blinked and moved his tail out of the way, leaving the human a clear shot to the trees behind him. I don't see your name on her, he replied calmly. He wasn't all that surprised when his words only angered the smaller dragon more.
I will burn your flesh from your bones, he hissed, opening his mouth to do just that.
But the Shade struck faster. Lunging across the space between them, he slammed the other dragon into the ground and shoved his face into the dirt. He gave a threatening hiss and scoured deep marks into the fire drake's side. The dragon screamed in pain and tried to wriggle free. After letting him struggle for a few seconds, the Shade released his grip and steppe back. Get out of here. Now.
With fury burning in his eyes, the fire drake obeyed. He cast one last look at where the human had been, then turned and went back the way he'd come.
The Shade—Link, he remembered. His name was Link—watched the other dragon until not one flash of red scale could be seen. The he turned and looked for the girl. Unsurprisingly, she was nowhere to be seen. With a grunt, he spread his wings and launched himself skyward, his wings creating a powerful wind with his downstroke.

Fel had tucked herself down on her stomach below a thick tangle of thorn bushes. It was uncomfortable, and she could feel the dead, discarded thorns poking through her clothes, but she stayed in place. She wasn't going to let any dragon have an easy time of finding her, and she was honestly getting too winded to keep fleeing. As the second, bigger dragon started to take flight, the bushes rattled wildly. She felt her hair catching and tangling with some of the lower branches and she suppressed a small hiss of pain as it tugged at her. She still kept herself down, covering her face with her arm to keep the thorns from hitting her in the eyes.
After a few seconds, when things seemed to die down a bit, she looked up again. She scanned the field and the air for any sign the beasts still might be lurking by. Her heart still pounded anxiously in her ears. She hadn't expected a second dragon. Her luck had been unbelievable, in so many ways.

Since she didn't see anything, Fel slowly started picking herself up from her spot on the ground. She started pulling away from the thornbush, having to reach back and untangle her hair from the branches before she could stand properly. She scanned the field once more before she started walking toward what she hoped would be the highway. The whole chase had thrown her off course badly, and now she really wasn't sure where she'd ended up. If she went the wrong direction, she could be in real trouble. Again.

(I'm so tired but the dog I'm watching won't stop barking so i can't sleep)
Fel only heard the dragon hit the ground and she watched it only long enough to see it begin moving toward her and change form. It looked human now. She wasn't sure if he retained all of his strength and possibly a breath weapon in this state, but she didn't plan to stick around to find out. She started sprinting again in the same direction she'd been going before she'd hidden herself. If he got too close... well she'd have to find out if she could take him in this state.

(but the garbageman goes by and she doesn't make a peep. She's just barking at the emptiness of the house or something ;-; )
While she wasn't exactly sure what was going on or how the dragon had gotten ahead of her now, but with the confusion and adrenaline still pushing her forward, Fel continued sprinting, putting her full weight forward as she pulled her arm back and swung a punch at the dragon. She hadn't even noticed his stance or gesture, only that he was in her way now and that she needed time to change direction to get herself somewhere else. She wasn't sure what abilities it maintained between its forms and she wasn't going to risk it launching any sort of breath weapon. Honestly, Blair had done a pretty good job keeping her in the dark on most things involving dragons. She wasn't even sure what a Shade Draco could do, aside from them just being really big and really strong.

(I figured it out. She was wanting attention. That's it, just wanting attention. Lonely girl)
Fel panicked a bit when she only felt the dragon move slightly. It looked like the dragon still retained its strength even like this. She wouldn't have an easy time fighting it, and worse, it more or less had her stuck in place.
"Let go of me!" She spat, swinging her other arm to try and push herself away from it.
