Whisperwing too touched her nose to the water when they were all settled, eyes shutting as the cold took her body. Waking up, she looked around, fur bristling with panic at the silence that settled around her.

Daisypaw did the same, and shivered as the cold water hit her nose. She shut her eyes tight, then opened them again, glancing around her nervously. Would she even see anyone this time? โHello?โ she murmured into the silence.
((hmm what shall they see))

((h-hewwo,,))
Daisypaw walked side by side with Hawkjaw, as she would have felt weird leading. They had just left the forest and were now walking through the sparce trees and clearings before the cavern. The sun was sinking into the horizon. "We'll be there soon," Daisypaw said, feeling the nerves bubble inside her even more.

Hawkjaw nodded, scanning the surrounding area apprehensively. He hadn't spoken much since the two left camp, and now that the trees had cleared more and left no cover for the two of them to shelter beneath, he was more alert than ever. Every sound seemed to him a potential threat ready to pounce on the two at any moment. The lack of trees made his skin crawl, and he had a feeling now more than ever that they were being watched.

High in the branches of a lone tree, Shadow sat watching two strange cats approach the area she had been calling home for the past few days. Her yellow eyes gleamed in the red light of sunfall at the prospect of a good fight. She hadn't seen any other cats in months, and her skin was itching to pounce on an unknowing cat. "That tabby is a little big." She whispered to herself, trying to figure out her tactic to pounce. Wait until they get closer to that big cave. she thought to herself. She hated to admit but she had grown fond of this place and wanted it all for herself. She would have to contest these cats for it.

Daisypaw could feel the fear radiating off Hawkjaw, and it didn't make her nerves any better. While it was an understandable fear, at least this time she had the Clan deputy instead of two other cats who also didn't know how to fight. Honestly they were probably better off than normal, but every noise still made her skin crawl.
There was a scent that came in on a passing breeze that made Daisypaw's neck fur begin to rise. "Do you smell that?" she whispered, opening her mouth to taste it again. Was it another cat?

Shadow heard the smaller cat begin to speak, and decided now was the time. The two cats were right below her, and she loaded her haunches to pounce precisely on the larger tabby tom. Moments turned into months as she waited for the opportune moment, then she pounced when he was right below her, legs outstretched and claws unsheathed. All that could be heard in the moment she soared through the air was the twinkle of her kittypet collar, then a yowl of surprise from the tabby tom as she landed atop him. ------------
"Daisypaw run!" Hawkjaw yowled as a blunt, furry object hit him on the spine. Fear and confusion coursed through his body as he writhed beneath the weight of what he figured by the sound of a collar to be an immensely large kittypet. For the weight of his attacker he couldn't properly execute his attack, and fear began to overtake him as he realized he couldn't move to protect Daisypaw. Suddenly his movements turned into wild thrashes that's Hawkjaw was sure looked like a trout flopping around once it had been fished from the river. A yowl of pure hatred escaped his jaws as he finally bucked the cat from his back, and for the first time he stood face-to-face with his attacker.

Daisypaw shrieked and scurried backwards, away from the attacking cat. "Hawkjaw!" she cried as the deputy was crushed underneath the black cat, which Daisypaw had figured out was a she-cat. Relief washed over her when Hawkjaw managed to free herself, but not enough to reassure her. Instead of running away, though, she stood with her back against the tree the cat had come from; if she attack, Daisypaw could run up it. But she definitely wasn't going to completely abandon Hawkjaw.

Shadow hit the ground with extreme force on her right shoulder, but rebounded quickly to her paws. She turned and let out a deafening shriek at Hawkjaw. "You're on my territory!" She yowled furiously before running toward Hawkjaw once more.
----
Having regained his paws, Hawkjaw stood in defiance of his attacker. When she came running to him, he yowled in denial of her claim. "This is Groveclan territory!" He yowled before jumping at just the right moment and latching onto the she-cat's back. With unsheathed claws he stroked the fluffy spine of his attacker forcefully, feeling the skin rip beneath his claws. "You are the trespasser here!" With a final slash of his back claws he pushed off the cat, who was howling in pain. Tufts of black fluff still hung in his claws as he pounced once more, but the cat was expecting him this time. She rolled away from his leap, and sluggishly lashed out a light-gray paw. Hawkjaw was expecting her, however, and quickly dodged her blow. The she-cat was tiring, Hawkjaw noticed, and he chose his next move wisely. "Come at me!" He daunted. The she-cat let out a furious hiss before jumping, but Hawkjaw rolled on his back and scraped the she-cat's fluffy underbelly with all four sets of claws. With a howl of pain, Shadow jumped away from Hawkjaw as fast as she could manage, her collar twinkling loudly. "Fine!" She yowled at last, before turning to where Daisypaw stood. "I'll just go after her instead. Bloody and almost defeated, she half-heartedly ran toward the smaller she-cat in hopes of digging her claws just once into the orange-and-white pelt.

Daisypaw watched the fight go down and felt less stress as it went. The she-cat was wearing out, but a cat could always put their last bit of power in a final blow. Luckily, Hawkjaw hadn't been hurt besides tumbling around on the ground. She was proud to have a strong cat as their deputy, protecting their territory so readily. However, Daisypaw's pride faded quickly as she saw the she-cat lumber toward her. She hissed at her, and even considered fighting back. Instead, she turned and attempted to dart up the tree, despite never climbing a tree before. Hopefully it came naturally.
((time to attempt to harm a child lol))

Shadow jumped up the tree after Daisypaw, her shoulder hindering her clumping abilities greatly. Every movement of her right leg seemed to shatter the muscles in her shoulder. --- Hawkjaw couldn't believe his eyes. How could the raggedy she-cat even manage a jump? He bounded after the blundering oaf quickly, managing to grab her tail in his teeth. He held on with his powerful jaws before yanking her down, feeling satisfaction as she thundered to the ground with a stricken hiss. "Had enough yet?" Hawkjaw hissed scathingly, baring his teeth in a snarl at the thick-pelted bloody she-cat.
--- Shadow whirled toward Hawkjaw and lashed pathetically once with her left paw, her right shoulder stinging immensely. She knew she had been defeated, but her pride held her from merely running away. With a reproachful look back at the tree, she leapt again at Hawkjaw awkwardly. --- Hawkjaw hadn't expected her attempt at an attack once more, and she landed on him heavily. He hissed in fury before latching his teeth onto the nearest extremety, her left paw. He heard a yowl of excruciating pain as he felt soft paw-pad skin tear beneath his teeth. When he finally let go, he realized how mangled the she-cat's paw looked. He scrambled to his paws and fluffed out his fur to its greatest size. "Leave." He demanded. "Or you will not walk away." -- The skin of her paw-pad had been completely torn away, and Shadow knew she needed to give up. She flattened her ears to her head and hissed at Hawkjaw unthreateningly before limping off in the direction that lead far away from Groveclan territory. "Was that stupid good for nothing cavern even worth it?" She wailed to herself as the pain in her right shoulder hindered her one-legged walking. ----
Hawkjaw stood triumphantly for a moment before the adrenaline rushed from his body, leaving him feeling tired and bloodied. The weight of the she-cat still lingered on his bones, and he felt his age wearing on him. "Daisypaw.." He called to the apprentice who stil hung in the tree. "I think we should go now." He turned toward the cavern which sheltered the ancient moon pool and sighed. "We're almost there."

((me @ my teachers))
Daisypaw clung onto the lowest branch, her eyes wide and her tail the bushiest it had ever been. Even after the black she-cat had left, she still watched her go and waited until she couldnโt see her anymore. After hearing Hawkjaw called, she nodded slowly and inched her way down the tree. The roots of her claws aches from climbing up the bark so fast, but otherwise she was fine, and Hawkjaw appeared to be as well aside from a few scratches. โI canโt imagine what would have happened if you hadnโt come with me...โ she said, shuddering at the remaining scent of fear and anger around the tree.
((if she attempted to attack again when theyโre coming back I would be impressed lmao I love her for no reason))

((ikr i'm wondering why i like shadow ,,,,,, she is bad ? maybe i'll explore her more)))
Hawkjaw huffed to clear the tension in the air, then approached Daisypaw the second she repelled from the tree. Though she didn't have any visible wounds, he couldn't stop himself from worrying about the fluffy she-cat. He gave her shoulder a comforting lick before fretting over her. "Are you hurt, did she touch you?" He asked frantically while burying his nose into her shoulder to check for injuries.
((daisypaw; "don't you fret, monsiur marius. I don't feel any pain)))

((yay another attack lol i can make a rogue too,, also that would be a fun plot thing, having a bunch of rogues trying to take the territory??))
Daisypaw shook her head, and used this opportunity to sniff him for wounds, too. "She didn't get to me," the apprentice said, almost proudly. The rogue didn't even snag her tail as she trailed up the tree. She then stepped back and looked up at him in concern. "Are you alright, though? You're the one who fought her."

Hawkjaw shook his head, "Yes, fine." He meowed, a hint of triumph in his deep voice. "Even though she was almost twice my size, that delusional kittypet didn't know any real battle moves." His scoffing was short lived, however, as he turned once more toward the moonpool. The sun had now sunk below the trees, and the moon was quickly jumping up in its place, its glow beginning to illuminate the sky. "We should get going. Don't want to be late to your own gathering." At that, he strode toward the cavern, expecting Daisypaw to flank him.

Daisypaw hurried to his side and walked his pace all the way to the cavern. There was a silence between them, but instead of awkward, it was comfortable. As the night grew colder she founder herself pushing closer into him and fluffing out her fur as much as possible.
When they finally reached the cavern entrance, Daisypaw stared into it with wide eyes. This was it. She let out a deep breath and turned her head to Hawkjaw. "I guess you'll stay here," she mewed nervously, though she wished he could come with her. Why did StarClan have to have so many rules? She reached up to touch his nose.

Hawkjaw returned the gesture gingerly, and let out a small purr. "Don't be scared, Daisypaw." He whispered, feeling her nervousness as if it were his own. "I'll be right out here." Pulling away, he added, "You'll have to get used to sharing tongues with Starclan alone, anyhow."
He knew she needed to go then, so he backed away from her. A nod of encouragement was his last gesture before he settled beside the cavern entrance. He hoped she would be alright on her own, and his own paws prickled with apprehension as he realized she would be a different cat the moment she lapped the water in the Ancient Moon pool tonight.

Daisypaw purred, then turned and entered the cave. As she walked across the rock floor, which had grooves from water running through it, she felt her nerves slowly ease. She had no reason to be afraid of StarClan, as they would always be with her. She approached the pool, admiring how it twinkled in the moonlight. She suddenly felt very small, but she pushed it aside and laid by the pool, her paws underneath her. She lapped the water and instantly fell asleep; when her eyes opened again, she found herself in a starlit forest much like GroveClan's.

A soft but chilly wind swept across the starlit forest before Daisypaw, before Songfall approached her. She didn't stop until she was a mouse-length away from the apprentice, her yellow eyes staring at her. "Hello, Daisypaw. I'm glad you made it. We have much to talk about."
