oceanclan - clan of the seas [ v.4 ;; open! ]

With a soft purr, the broad tom carefully licked his mates cheek as they both watched the dilute tortoiseshell kit squirm around for a few moments, speaking of being hungry. Maybe it was the fact that he had just brought up prey, or the fact that he was going to hunt, or maybe it was how much Alderberry still smelled of milk. He didn't quite know, but he nodded slowly and got to his paws. "Sounds about alright, then. I'll bring back two pieces, one for you, and one for the kits, so they can try fresh-kill. Now, Sweetkit, don't have too much milk, i'll be back soon with your prey." Rowanstorm promised. He carefully touched his nose to his mates cheek, mumbling a soft goodbye for now, before he exited the nursery. He sometimes felt terrible for leaving her alone with the three, but he needed to get his duties done while he was still on his paws. Carefully making his way over to Marshclaw, he paused. Why was the deputy just sitting there? Shaking his head he stopped and dipped his head respectfully. "I'm going to take a hunting patrol out, if that's okay. Any cats you'd specifically like me to take?" The tom asked.
Marshclaw listened carefully before nodding. "Take Noblelight and Thistleshine with you." The deputy meowed before returning to his thoughts. 
Rowanstorm slowly nodded before turning to the warriors den and bounding over, peeking inside. "Noblelight, Thistleshine. Marshclaw's asked us to go out hunting. So wake up so we can go." The ginger tom mewed before stepping back and waiting patiently.

The young kitten watched her father exit the nursery before turning to Alderberry. She wanted to eat, of course, but the thought of her father bringing fresh-kill back for her and her siblings left her a little less wanting milk. She looked at her mother with a small blink. "Mama, when we start eating prey, does that mean we won't get milk anymore? What if I don't like prey?" Sweetkit asked curiously. I sound like Lilykit. She thought with a scrunch of her nose. She curled her tail around her paws and twitched her whiskers. "And, and, can we go out and play until papa gets back? I haven't been outside for a whole moon!" The tiny molly exaggerated, rolling over and practically on top of her siblings.

Firepaw had seated himself down, contemplating over their best options. He looked at Sharkpaw once the tom had offered a few options as well. They could convince his mentor to let them patch the dens, if she believed the limp and provided sympathy. But he also figured she might just tell him to rest. With a soft sigh the tom slowly agreed, nodding his head. Green eyes shifted to look towards the warriors den where Rowanstorm had just backed away from. "I think that might be our best bet. Unless Hawksong tells you to rest instead of pushing yourself to find brambles. If it comes to it, we can just ask them to do it, and offer to patch up the other dens." He mewed after a moments thought. He looked back at Sharkpaw and nodded. "When we need more paws, we can ask Rosepaw as well. And maybe Breezepaw." He offered, though it was hesitant. He didn't want his offer shut down, but he also didn't want to annoy Sharkpaw with it.

Ravenflight enjoyed the times he managed to escape the world to be with the white molly. She was like a "vacation" from the clan, and he really depended on her in his life. From getting tripped up by rabbit holes together, to falling asleep side by side by the water, he knew for a fact Dogwoodbloom was a cat he wanted in his life forever. He was very oblivious, though, to the fact that their love for each other was shared on a deeper and more emotional level.

His eyes caught the mollies and he purred gently, nudging her with his shoulder. "I know it is. That's why I chose it, silly goose. How bout I race you to the Forest Training Hollow?" He mewed, his whiskers twitching as he got ready to race Dogwoodbloom. He lashed his tail and purred softly, getting in a stance that suggested he was ready to race when she was. "First one there gets to pick what we share from the fresh-kill pile later?" He offered, his lips twitched in a "smile" of the sorts. Can cats smile?? I don't know.

The black tom purred and pelted quickly after Dogwoodbloom. He knew he wasn't nearly as fast as the slimmer molly, but he did push himself as hard as he possibly could. His claws raked up dirt a debris behind him as he followed. His green gaze watched the bob of the white warriors tail tip. He wasn't too far behind, but he knew there wasn't a chance that he would be winning. He continued to pace himself before skidding to a halt when they reached the hollow. He huffed and took a gulp of air to fill his lungs.

"Fine fine! You won, Dogwoodbloom. I can never beat you at a race, no matter how fast I try to go." He meowed with a few pants. Ravenflight sat down and curled his tail over his paws, chest heaving as he caught his breath. "Now, our focus is back on hunting. Where should we go? We can split up for a few catches, or hunt in a pair." He mewed with a soft purr.
