Sparkly At the top of the tower there was nothing in particular that stood out -- a dusty old room, with cracked wood floorboards and some broken furniture. But there was, however, a girl, and a record player. Beside it lay a dozen LP's -- all with bands from the eighties -- Guns n roses, The Smiths, and Prince were lain on the top. The one in the player now, however, was Poison. "Every rose has it's thorns..." the girl half mumbled, gently swaying to the music that came out -- the sound now faded and disfigured after thirty years of being played. But not even her music distracted her from the smell of someone new in her chamber. Not a vampire or a ghost no -- and not Desmond. Violet screamed. "What are you doing here?!" she yelled, running and hiding pretty unaffectively behind a broken set of drawers. "Go away! I'll eat you!" she snapped, then followed it with a non-convincing hiss sound -- trying to scare away the wayward thaumaturgist. Aurora took a step backwards, mainly in shock - She hadn't expected to find somebody so... harmless up here. "Wait!" She called out, freezing. "I... I'm sorry, but I'm not entirely convinced that you could hurt me," She admitted. She paused for a moment, suddenly coming to a realisation. This girl wasn't being affected by the curse. Also, her claim that she'd eat Aurora... The only creature that she could think of that came even close to eating people was a vampire. "Are... Are you a vampire?" She asked curiously, hoping vainly that this sort of question wouldn't anger the girl.

Fang nodded as he walked beside the female, listening intently. “Okay... what if we calmly intercept with a small patrol? Talk to them and get them to see what is truly going on? Sow the seeds of dissent among them to weaken resolve...” he said, almost sage-like as he walked along. It was clear he knew what he was talking about and had experience in combat and strategy. As he walked and talked more with the female, it was becoming more clear to him how evil the new Alpha was, as well as how wanting he was to take the pack over. I never thought I’d be an alpha this way...Elah nodded. It could work -- perhaps. But wouldn't work if she was there, Dekan had damaged her reputation too much. They'd just kill her on sight now. "If we did do that we'd have to work quickly -- Dekan will be in the process of changing everything, including patrol routes. But his first priority will be finding me, so we should have until the full moon in three days time," she said. "It's also advisable if you went alone -- without me. Wolves close to a moon-time aren't amicable to perceived traitors..."

He was the only one who knew she was here -- and the only one who knew how to get to the tower. Besides... Violet frowned. "That silly ghost sent you here, didn't she? Well Beatrice can come and send you back right now! And tell Desmond to reign her in, if he can..." But the look on her face wasn't one of happiness -- there was more alarm. That panic reached Violet and she trembled, swallowed her fear and stood up to look at Aurora. "He...he is alright, isn't he?" she asked, terrified that she partly already knew the answer.

Fang nodded slowly and kept walking. “This is no going to be easy.”They were nearing the tree line beside the city so he quickly looked Elah over to make sure she didn’t have any twigs or leaves on her.

"There was a curse set on the building," Aurora replied. "A pain curse. He... He only just managed to stop the curse from working on me. Then, he passed out," She admitted, averting her gaze towards the floor. "He told me to find you." Aurora was half-hoping that the girl wouldn't ask for the full story. It was a miracle that she hadn't already been attacked, really - Or maybe that was her nervous tendencies talking. Violet lept up and out behind the chest of drawers, her fear now totally abandoned. She had many reasons to care for Desmond -- the man tried, day and night, to find a cure for her vampire-ism. It had been done before, but it wasn't a set 'spell' -- to cure each person, it was a different anomaly. Which had, so far, availed Desmond. He also gave her refuge from her mother. No doubt if she left the tower Viola would find her, and potentially kill her. But that didn't matter -- fifty wasn't a bad age to die at anyway, even if her life had been rather closeted. She'd grieved that loss long ago. "We need to find who set the curse on the building! No doubt it was some sort of seductress -- perhaps a siren -- or something, to slip their way inside the building. Or a powerful thaumaturgist," Violet said, stalking over to the stairs of the tower and looking down. "And to do that, we need to get out of here. I know the spell but...a vampire's thaumaturgy is weak already, and for an unfed vampire it's virtually impossible....so I don't know how I can get us out."

Elah quickly smoothed a hand over her hair and brushed the sticky burs off her shorts. The sunlight glow had been replaced by streetlights, and into the quaint little streets they went -- passing shops and houses alike until they came to a rustic bar Elah liked, that served the best quesadilla's she'd ever tasted. On entry, she gave a nod to the barman who gave a stout whistle in reply which signaled a waiter to clear the table in the corner, beside the window. She sat there, then patted the seat opposite her for Fang. "Sit," she offered.

Her voice trailed off into a quiet, shy squeak by the end of her sentence. She could already feel her chances at getting any help at all fade away into the distance - Or maybe the deep void of space to die was a better descriptor of where they were going...

Fang smiled and sat across from her. “Do you come here a lot?” He asked as he slid in and looked at her. Elah nodded. "All the time," she said, fiddling with crimson velveteen napkin on the stained mahogany table. The smell of Mexican beers and spicy food came to her nose -- it was almost too nostalgic. "My father was the first to bring me here, when I was about fifteen. It was just after I'd changed to a full wolf form. I was a late bloomer, and they were so worried something was wrong, so naturally we had a huge celebration. Dad ordered every dish on the menu, which was great cause it cheered me up after not catching anything on my first wolf hunt..." Elah noticed tears were threatening her chestnut eyes. She gasped, embarrassed, and looked away -- speechless in her shame.

Violet murmured, watching the girl before her crumple and curl into herself in sadness and shame. The vampire could've been angry, if she hadn't been so touched for the poor thing hurt by her parents treachery. She carefully edged forward and put a hand on her shoulder, curling down a little bit as well so that even though she looked at the floor, Violet's eyes could meet her -- they were soft lavender oceans, filled with comfort and compassion. "It is so horrible when they do that, isn't it. When the people who you grew up believing were angels turn into monsters...why, I almost went mad with that fact myself." Violet turned to the side and took in a sharp breath again. Perhaps the girl would know of her birth-name, perhaps not. But even admitting it would be a first step in honesty -- and honesty was always a good first step. "My name is Violet....Bloodmancer. But I don't take the surname anymore. Don't like it and don't want it because I don't want to be associated with...well, you know -- or you'll find out. Anyway, what is your name?"

He reached over and lightly patted her hand with his. “It’s okay. Just let it out Elah.” He murmured softly. It was clear she missed her family dearly, and that she had next to nothing now. He leaned towards her a little. “The pain will go away eventually but right now just let out your tears.” He said as he rubbed her hand gently with his thumb. “We can do it.”

Even if her family ten, twenty, thirty generations back had been honourable, powerful people, her relatives today had done at least enough terrible acts to scar the name in her mind, and there was no doubt that there was more to come.

She wasn't loud, she merely let two dignified streaks of water roll down her cheeks before breathing deeply to steady her voice. "It's just that it was so sudden, y'know? I was always prepared for their deaths, but there was no challenge or nothing -- I woke up, just out of the blue -- no reason at all -- and I followed Dekan's sent until I saw him slitting my mother's throat. My father was already dead. They'd been sleeping -- hadn't struggled at all. He then said "tutt tutt Elah, killing your parents for a stab at Alpha? Good thing I was more loyal to them than you, and killed you for your crimes.." She grimaced at the memory. "Worst thing is, the only way he got a chance to do all that was because of me."

"Same," Violet said with a smile. "My mother's grandfather was a great Italian night -- worked for the pope and all, but she's a murderous satanic old bat so I stay clear of the second name," she added then paused. "Best not mention the whole 'Bloodmancer' second name thing to the others at the society...most of them will try to kill me. When Desmond told me the true horror's of my mother, I was surprised he didn't try either." "Now, we still need to figure out how to get out of here!"

"Well, we could try going down the staircase." Aurora pointed over her shoulder at the tall staircase leading back down the tower. "Unless, of course, there's some reason you can't go down that way," She quickly added. She'd trained herself to never make assumptions long ago, so to make a slip-up like that was... Alarming. It was even more alarming when the thought that she might have gotten punished for making assumptions when she was still a minor was even more alarming. "It'll just lead to a bricked up wall, unless...." Violet thought, paced up and down, then went to one of the dust sheets and pulled it over to reveal a meter long wall hammer. "Desmond gave this to me a while ago -- said only to use it if it was an absolute emergency. I guess this qualifies," Violet said and picked the hammer up. "Only danger is, once I bash the wall in we have about a hundred feet to travel until we get to the surface. The pressure won't be pleasant but it won't kill me. But that, combined with the lack of air just might kill you..."

He frowned and rubbed her hand more, trying to show he was there for her. “And that’s why we will fix this. Set things right and reclaim your reputation.” He said as he just stayed there and kept rubbing her hand with a thumb.
Fang knew she was in pain, and he also knew it would take a long time for the pain to go away. But he’d be there for her as much as he could.

"Might the spell to stop the curse from affecting me protect me somewhat?" Aurora wondered. "If not, we could just run. I'm sure I'll be okay," She replied. In truth, her statement was probably a lie. But, there was no harm in trying, right? ( Lilystar88)

Fang knew she was in pain, and he also knew it would take a long time for the pain to go away. But he’d be there for her as much as he could. Elah's unwanted stumble into the catacombs of memory, pain and panic was stopped. It was as if Fang's gentle touch had yanked her right out of it, as a fisherman pulls in a catch. Suddenly, she wasn't focused on the past -- but saw a hope, however so small, of a future. With a new pack -- and a new alpha. Wait. How long had she been staring like that at Fang? Like some kind of awestruck sheep? God she could be so stupid sometimes! Elah quickly reverted her eyes and tried to hide her blush. "I'm being silly -- you've probably had it much worse. So have many wolves -- it's the price we pay."

He watched her and noticed her come out of her memory-daze and nodded slowly as he looked out the window. “That’s true. We have all had experiences and opportunities we regret doing or not doing. But those choices make us and affects our futures.” He said as he slowly turned to look at her. “But we also have a say in what we do, and as sure as I live and breathe we will reclaim your pack and set things right.” He said to her softly.

In truth, her statement was probably a lie. But, there was no harm in trying, right? "Well, swim," Violet said and then looked once again at the wall. Then, without a warning, she pulled all her anger, frustration and sense of betrayal into her swing. The blow shook the whole tower. A few cracks started to appear in the brickwork. Two more rage-fueled swings and water was starting to trickle through, then gush through, throwing bricks out of place as it did so. "Woo!" Violet exclaimed. "Well, that is a therapy I thoroughly recommend for venting your repressed mommy issues!" she added then grabbed onto Aurora's hand. "Hold on -- I'll go fast." And fast she did go. As soon as the water made a hole big enough to swim through Violet pushed through it with Aurora, using every bit of her accentuated vampire strength to push through the current and start to swim up -- it was quicker than most humans but there were sections of her skull starting to bulge or cave in. Gods, she wished she could take the worst of it -- after all, she couldn't die.

"Thanks," Elah breathed, her chocolate eyes sparkled as she smiled at him. He felt like a good Alpha, something she'd never seen in Dekan. And being with him felt different to being with Dekan too. He was less...dangerous. She always felt like she needed to watch her back with Dekan. Until, of course, she didn't. God, she never knew if she'd forgive herself for that. But perhaps some things never faded with time -- perhaps this baggage was with her until she was in the grave. "Y'know, I'm going to owe you quite a bit after this..." Elah murmured, a smirk pulling itself onto her lips. "So dinner's on me," she said and whistled so the waiter came over. She ordered, then waited for Fang.

He smiled. “Hey, as your alpha I’m supposed to watch over you and provide you with what you need. You don’t owe me a thing.” Hebreplied just before the waiter got there. He waited until after Elah had ordered then he ordered what he wanted. After the waiter left he looked at Elah. “So is there anything else I should know about your pack?”

Aurora gasped lightly, only just managing to hold her breath before the water fully engulfed her. Well, this was worse than she expected. Surprisingly enough, she didn't feel fear, or vulnerability - She didn't even feel disorientated. It was more... She didn't know how to describe it. Her vision started to blur. Was that water inhalation, or the pressure? Aurora clenched her eyes shut, trying to stop herself from panicking and making the whole situation worse. ( Lilystar88)

[[Soz lads work exploded.]] 3....2....1....And Violet broke the surface. Her body was already starting to heal, and she was still coughing water out her lungs and stomach. It heaved up and she trembled, then collapsed on the grassy shore. Thank god that was over... But then, she turned to Aurora. Oh sh*t, had she survived? "Au..Aurora?" she mumbled, trying hard to get her concentration back. "C-Can you hear me?" Sparkly
