Introduction
"Long ago, when I grew up, there was talk there of many gods. Then men came who took my mother, and sister, in the name of their one God. From that time I learned many things -- I learned how to hide, how to beg and steal, how to think and write. But I did not learn the truth about gods until much later.
The truth is, my friend, is that there are no gods. But there are creatures -- those who are not people, and are not gods, but something in between.
Men who grow fangs like the bat who want for nothing but human blood. And their enemies, the wolf-men who are indescribably savage. The women of the water, with the tails of fish and the breasts of princess’ -- who will either devour body and mind, or bless both and be on their way. I have heard whispers of those alive from long before, either wailing or killing, dragging us down to join them in the cold earth bellow.
How do I know all this? Simple, I learned one thing. I learned the ancient art. It’s common name is magic -- witchcraft, or divination. But we are not witches, but the Thaumaturgy, who make the impossible possible again." -- Dr Desmond Icithus Bronze, Senior Thaumaturgist of the Bristol Association of Thaumaturgy.

Roleplay Culture
(cause that sounds better than rules)
Welcome to Mythologic -- a roleplay based around the inclusion of supernatural creatures in cultures and locations all over the globe (which basically means I was too lazy to create a set location for the rp). I know there’s a lot of roleplay’s like this out there, but I couldn’t find one relatively new so I made one myself.
As for how I intend this to go, I honestly don’t mind. I’ve put up some species guidelines because I felt like that would give us some structure going in, but if you want to adapt one or have your character fall outside a norm, that’s absolutely okay -- I trust you all to make equal and balanced characters. I also trust everyone to roleplay well together, sorting out your own plots and your own literary abilities. If you want, include your literary preferences in your joining section so we can all find rp partners with similar lit preferences . Please respect that. If someone wants to do advanced lit an you only do a few lines, don’t do a roleplay with them, and similarly, don’t bombard someone with 700 words a post if they’re only wanting to do a few lines.
If anyone has any questions at all please ask, and remember anything goes here (I mean, like, try to keep the hardcore love-scenes to PM and that stuff), as in you can change the character rules, location and stuff like that.

Calliope Marce // Female // Thaumaturgist // March 15th, 1995 (23 and looks her age)
Judah Waller // Male // Werewolf - Alpha // November 3rd, 1991 (27, looks his age)
Well built as with all wolves, Judah stand at 6'3" and is muscular though lean. His skin is lightly tanned, nothing major, from days outside in the sunlight. Here and there scar mark his body from pack rivalries and other fights he's gotten into over the years. Though never really known to be a fighter, he will when necessary. With sandy blonde hair that grows a bit darker near the roots, Judah looks like an All-American. His hair is cut a little long and tossed nicely with a little product (he may be a manly man but the hair has to look nice). A well groomed and well filled beard also lines Judah's face, hiding his jawline a bit. A deep brow shadows his eyes which are a soft hazel in color. As a wolf Judah is an impressive creature as well. Deep brown fur with hints of lighter markings streak his fur. Large ears and a long tail, his eyes gleam out brightly from his dark fur. The fur remains the same in his "half and half" form as well.
A pure-blooded werewolf, Judah has not traveled far from his home back and grew up the son of an alpha. His father's pack had many disputes with neighboring packs and he saw how it took a toll on those around them and his father himself. Judah made it a point to himself to be a peace keeper. Once he was old enough to leave, Judah moved out to start his own pack and find his way elsewhere. After settling down Judah started a pack and met another werewolf by the name of Thalia. A smart and bright woman they quickly got along and Thalia got pregnant. However, before the birth of their son, a dispute among the pack erupted due to Judah's more peaceful way of settling things. In the bloody fight Thalia was injured badly and lost their child. As a result she left Judah as well. Currently, he is single, preferring it to stay that way, and leads the pack with a bit more leadership and distinctiveness.
The leader of his own pack, Judah has learned to be someone others trust, charismatic and approachable in nature. He is loyal to a fault and puts faith in those he deems worthy. He trusts his sense of judgement though will often ask for the input of others and will take those into consideration before making a decision that will impact the entire pack. A quieter individual, he is not someone you might immediately pick out of a crowd solely on his aura or demeanor. A fighter and raised to be one, Judah will never give up on his pack or anyone close to him. He cares deeply for those a part of his circle and has a great deal of empathy for the world. Judah holds strong moral standards for his pack and those around him as well and does not tolerate profuse lying or things that would tarnish the reputation of his pack. They are wolves with integrity and dignity. Judah will always stick to his word and if he makes a deal then he makes a deal. A man with a strong sense of fairness and pride for his people and his race, he does everything he can to make sure the wolves in his pack and those of neighboring packs are well off.

Vampires (at a glance )
Vampires
At a glance:
- Most common supernatural creature
- Pale face, fangs, eyes will glow during feeding or hunting
- Powers are gradual and don’t come for long periods of time but include strength, speed, heightened sensory ability and mild telepathy
- Dislike all other supernatural creatures -- especially werewolves or thaumaturgists.
- Personality is generally manipulative, seductive and arrogant.
Vampires (detailed)
Vampires (Detailed)
Vampires are a worldwide phenomenon -- they exist in many cultures, taking different names such as ‘alukah’ and ‘shtriga’. There are approximately 7000 vampires on earth, making them the most common of all the supernatural creatures. This, naturally, has lead to some human awareness of the phenomenon but, inevitably, truth and legend have become mixed together. Here’s the solid truth --
Becoming a Vampire
Vampires are most commonly converted from their human form by sharing blood contact with another vampire. This can be done accidentally (for instance, when another vampire has a small cut in their mouth and bites a human), but is most commonly done purposefully. There is a low but significant mortality rate (of about thirty percent) as many vampires who try to convert a human cannot resist the urge to drink the human. There is also a high chance (sixty five percent) that the human will be killed during the process (either because of a physiological condition, for example, if the vampire cuts the human’s veins and their veins to do the blood transfer and they bleed out before conversion) or because of the physiological distress of having a genetic conversion done to every cell in your body. Vampires that die during the process are weaker than vampires that do not.
Not all vampires can convert humans. A rare fifteen percent have the ability to convert humans without help, but most vampires can seek thaumaturgic aid to enable the to become converter vampires.
Note: There is a highly rare condition in which someone who dies naturally rises as a vampire. While a reasonable theory suggests this is how the first vampire came to be, these types of vampires are shunned by all vampire societies and are often murdered. Also, some vampires have started to convert animals. It is rare the animal survives the process.
Physical abilities and disabilities
Physically, on conversion, vampires only have the ability to grow fangs and make their eyes glow when hunting or feeding. The ‘pale’ effect does not set in for another few weeks, as their natural blood supply weakens and fades. When first converted vampires double their natural strength and sprint speed. After fifty years, this doubles again, after another fifty years only their strength doubles, then this stops.
Around this point is when sensory changes occur. These gradually increase over the next hundred years. These changes, unlike strength and speed are difficult to control and many vampires resort to suicide or simply die from the stress of it. However, if survived, at the age of two hundred vampires start to gain control of these senses all the while gaining mild telepathic senses too. Approximately between the ages of 400 and 450 vampires have an ability to sense the ‘life status’ of individuals such as occupation, family life, health for humans and the other things of importance for other creatures. However, very few vampires reach this age.
At the age of 712, the oldest vampire ever to live could read the thoughts of other vampires he was close to and had limited control over compromised humans (such as the sick, young, old or addicted). (Nb: Gerard Velot has since been killed (circa 1998), so this is a second hand account.)
When it comes to disabilities, humans believe that sunlight will burn vampires. The truth is that sunlight merely reveals vampires as vampires, as no human is naturally that pale. Moonlight gives vampires a slight ‘perception filter’ to manipulate human perception, which is why vampires are usually only safe to reveal themselves to the general human populus on a full moon.
Vampires can heal from any wound inflicted, including decapitation, but will die if eaten. They cannot overcome being burnt (destroyed by fire) or physical wounds if they have first been hit with special and rarely known thaumaturgy (spells) or poisoned with the blood of another vampire (particularly if it is the blood of a more powerful or older vampire)
Vampires also have the distinct addiction to blood. While it is possible to abstain it’s difficult and many symptoms occur such as classic withdrawal symptoms and then a weakening of their powers.
Psychological Profile
Arrogant, masterfully manipulative and supremacist. Vampires, as a whole, dislike all other supernaturals but have a particular hate for werewolves and thaumaturgists. Secretly, many suspect this hatred is born of fear, since werewolves and thaumaturgists are the only two types of creatures that can kill vampires.
The rumours of vampire ‘seduction’ are tainted with a little truth. Female vampires have been seducing for centuries, meaning that in vampire culture women are superior. However, the seduction game has changed with the inclusion of gender and sexuality equality among humans. Suddenly, male vampires don’t just have powerless women to seduce. This is meaning a change in the gender superiority among vampires.
Werewolves (at a glance)
Werewolves
At a glance
- Werewolves are nicer and less a threat to humans than vampires are, because of their own moral code defined by their pack
- Werewolves are converted due to a ‘gene’ that is either inherited or contracted during a blood transfer
- Werewolves have three different kinds of wolf-ish metamorphosis, increased speed and strength, and healing powers.
- Werewolves have a strong urge to find a ‘pack’, and their pack is closer than family.
Werewolves (Detailed)
Werewolves (Detailed)
If vampires are all round generally the ‘bad guys’, werewolves could be considered the ‘good guys’. They are often loyal and moral to their pack, the law and their own personal ‘code’. However, there are outliers who’s code is that of savagery and violence. But, on a whole, most werewolves are less likely to murder and commit atrocities than vampires.
Full blood werewolves are rare -- only about 3000 in existence. However, half-blood werewolves (those that carry the werewolf ‘gene’) are technically worldwide but tend to be more often found in rural areas with large forestlands or very cold countries. There are very few desert wolves.
Becoming a werewolf
The werewolf ‘gene’
The werewolf ‘gene’ is something commonly talked about among supernatural circles. However, it has not been confirmed whether or not there is a true ‘gene’ for lycanthropy or if it is rather just thaumaturgy that works like a genetic allele. Either way, the reason the ‘gene’ is cited when it comes to lycanthrope conversion is as follows,
The child of two full-blood werewolves is always a werewolf. The child of a werewolf and a human may be a wolf, or may not. And wolves maybe converted with blood to blood transfer similar to the way vampires are converted. However, there is a catch to this process. Some people, we don’t know who, how or why, can be converted with a single transfer. The chance of surviving this process is 30%. However, some need two blood to blood transfers and these individuals will die. (Nb: there has been two recorded cases of a individuals surviving a second transfer -- Algred the great (760-840 bc) and John McIver (1891-1993), so there is some chance of survival but it is too minimal to calculate)
The most commonly accepted reason as to why this is is that there is a ‘gene’ for lycanthropy. That you are either a full-blood werewolf (WW), a half-blood werewolf or human carrier (WH), or a mere human (HH). There has been no research done into how to detect human carriers, the only way to find out is through seeing if said human’s child with a werewolf is a werewolf or not, or if they are converted with a single blood transfer (as a W allele is transferred every blood transfer, even though the process is risky and could produce death)
For those who know not about genetic diseases, I suggest a little research . For those that do, here are some punnet squares depicting the chances of ‘gene’ transfer:
(nb: the largest criticism of the ‘gene’ theory is that there is no verified documentation of a full-blood werewolf being born to half-blood parents. However, it is my belief that such children exist, but have just yet to be found)
Physical abilities and disabilities;
For werewolves who are born full-blood werewolves they are born with the ability to grow sharp fangs, claws and glow their eyes on demand. At around age twelve or thirteen they can morph into a large wolf. After puberty (16+) they can morph into a half-man half-wolf creature with bulking legs and arms and the head, skin, fur and tail of a wolf. There is an ability after this point to switch between all three of these metamorphosis’. Converted werewolves can do all this from the point of conversion (hence why most werewolves consider it highly illegal to convert individuals under the age of 16).
The human form of werewolves also changes. Born werewolves grow tall (above 6 foot for females and 6’ 4’’ for males) and are physically muscular and converted werewolves change to this from their original form. They are also likely to have very ‘tough’ and thick hair (needing strong blades to shave or multiple times waxing to remove hair from a certain spot) that grows quite fast.
Werewolves are also about three times as strong and fast as they were (or would have been) as humans.
A large scale thaumaturgical event in the 1800’s changed the nature of lycanthropy that forced metamorphosis on the full moon no longer happened. However, most lycanthropes find themselves highly irritable and aggressive on the full moon, and many choose to release this energy in a hunt or something similar. Many pack vs another pack fights happen on these nights. This effect triples on blood moons. On eclipse’s, all werewolves are powerless and exhausted. Most fortify themselves and sleep.
Wolves, similar to vampires, have an ability to heal, however, their ability is slower and physical wounds can kill them. They are, however, impervious to disease and all poisons (but not thaumaturgy). What kills most wolves is violence or age.
Phycological Profile
Loyal, moral, wise and cautious to a fault. Werewolves are bound by the ‘pack’. Upon conversion, the werewolf will join the pack of the wolf that converted it, or if that is not an option will have an increased urge to wander and roam until they find a pack. The pack is like family. In previous centuries, only alpha’s were allowed to mate and produce children, but now other pack members are allowed to do so -- there are even some female alpha’s around, which was unheard of before the 21st century.
There is a telepathic link between members of the pack, getting stronger with every decade the pack is together (which is defined by how long a blood-relation to the original pack members is in the pack). Not all packs are aggressive to other packs. In fact, many pack allegiances are forged by the exchange of members or even marriage contracts. These packs can become so close that territories are allowed to overlap, but this is rare. For most packs, ‘human’ territory is a free-for-all and any wolf can be amongst the humans. But in forest regions, packs are territorial and defend their boundaries. Many alpha’s choose to do this without violence initially, but are not afraid to resort to that.

SIRENS AND MERMAIDS
Notes: Both mermaids and sirens can be killed in similar ways, the only problem is the fact that both mermaids and sirens can swim to great depths in a matter of minutes whereas no other creature can. However, if a mermaid does this to evade danger she is likely to meet sirens where she has a choice to convert to sirenism or be devoured. Mermaids also age and grow old, and many die this way.
One could argue that the difference between mermaids and sirens is similar to the difference between humans and vampires. However, I would say that that is a gross oversimplification. While it is true that mermaids are generally friendly creatures who bless and help other species, and that sirens are the opposite, there are varying factors in their appearance and abilities.
Mermaids
Mermaids are as described in all fairy tales and legends -- beautiful women with the tails of fish. However, many mermaids tails resemble that of seals, dolphins or whales instead. They are rarely seen by humans (compared to vampires and werewolves) and have kingdoms and cities under the sea in tropical waters near the equator, still within reach of the sunlight.
Their is an ability to swim as fast as 200 mph, but that is the equivalent of sprinting and can only be done for so long. Still, mermaids can travel the globe in about 100 days by themselves. They often use whales or other sea mammals though as forms of transport. There are few cold-water mermaids.
Mermaids have inherent ‘magical’ abilities such as the ability to cure diseases or bring wealth to individuals. They give these things to kind humans they meet. Mermaids also have the ability to walk on land for less than 24 hours every 40 days (or else she risks insanity), but this can be enhanced if they practice. This is how mermaids conceive (usually with human males) and they give birth live underneath the sea, which has a moderate chance of killing the mermaid (50%).
Mermaids also have the ability to ‘curse’ and bring great woe to individuals. But the more they practice these dark abilities the closer they come to becoming sirens.
Sirens
Sirens are mermaids gone dark, in a nutshell. They often use their magic to alter their physical appearance into an illusion of beauty (as siren’s true appearance degrades with green, fungal looking skin, slimy foul coloured tails and matted overgrown hair), and lure humans into drowning themselves. There, sirens share their ‘kill’s amongst themselves, drinking blood and devouring the individual.
Most sirens convert from mermaidism because they have been abused by humans in some form, therefore seeking revenge by using dark powers.
Sirens are ageless and many are thousands of years old. Most do not speak english. They live in cold-water seas, down beyond the reach of sunlight and live together in packs. Sirens very rarely reproduce, but it is not impossible. Instead they form their family bonds by forming packs similar to that of werewolves.
There are occasional river mermaids, but never river sirens.
Ghosts
Ghosts
The number of ghosts in the world is too hard to record, since ghosts come and go so often. The way a ghost is created is almost always by violent or unhappy death. Many ghosts are neutral and calm -- for instance, if a father dies before he sees his son born, he may be a ghost for a while to see the child come into the world. Then, the ghost will pass on. To where, we do not know.
However, many ghosts get stuck in cycles of violence and anger -- trapping many to die in similar ways to what they did. Few ghosts like this can be reasoned with.
Ghosts can make themselves seen or unseen at will -- their main power is invisibility. They can also possess people, but only for a limited time and only a weak-willed person. On occasion, a ghost can become impermeable and solid like they were as a person. This is usually only in times of heightened emotions.
However, it can take ghosts decades to learn how to control these powers. Which makes experienced ghosts, who are not insane, as many of them do become that, very dangerous and not someone you want to be caught up with in a fight.
Upon death, ghosts gain limited knowledge of thaumaturgy that grows with how long they are ‘alive’.
Ghosts die in varying ways, some simply just ‘fade’, no one knows why or how. Some are killed with thaumaturgy (the only way they can be actively eliminated), some of them seem to go into hibernation and some of them choose to leave the world. Either way, ghosts, overall, are a mystery to me and many other Thaumaturgists.
Thaumaturgists
Thaumaturgists
I have written so much on the culture, abilities and role of our great tribe. If, I dare say so, we are the all-fathers of the supernatural. It probably all came from us, and it will probably all end with us. For thaumaturgy isn’t just ‘magic’, it has no limits or boundaries. There are endless abilities to discover and rediscover. It would take too long to write it all. However, I shall include a brief summary that details the history of thaumaturgy and what the culture of our great tribe is like today.
There has been evidence of thaumaturgy in the most ancient of cultures. I could well believe almost every account of ‘magic’ or ‘witchcraft’ is the account of a thaumaturgist. However, there is no one culture that has got everything right.
We, as a whole, are not defined by one gender or race. We are essentially, all humans who have a particular skill, and every human can learn the skill -- but some learn it better than others, and some learn different parts of the skill to others. Equate it to mathematics -- few people have no ability, but some struggle with it greatly. Amongst those who love it, some may be better at trigonometry to geometry.
It is the same with thaumaturgy. I, myself, found the start of my knowledge based in elemental powers, but by now I am much more interested in limited temporics. The greater the effect the ‘spell’ has on the world, the harder it is to perform -- my experiments in temporis mean I can show up as an invisible spectator in scenes in history for a few moments. My master can do so for a few hours, and the greats of temporal thaumaturgy such as Matilda of Orn or Valus the Red-Brow could show up for days at a time -- engaging in history and occasionally in the future.
As for our nature because we are essentially, human, we are as variable and mixed as humans -- some of us are evil, and some of us good. There are no limits, not really. And with that, I have completed my latest works. I hope it helps -- Dr D. I. Bronze

Dr Desmond Icithus Bronze // Male // Human Thaumaturgist // 1st October 1935 (82 years old, looks 35)
Doctor Bronze grew up in an indigenous tribal society in the middle eastern area of the world. It was taken over by British soldiers when Bronze was ten years old, and he still remembers the events clearly. He was taken in by another tribe who practiced thaumaturgy which Bronze learnt. At the age of 18 he embarked on a journey to Britain, where he found various thaumaturgists and learnt things from them until he ended up getting a doctorate in Chemistry from Oxford University in '61. Since then, he has been a professor there, but is affiliated with Bristol Thaumaturgists -- training under Master Smith.
His personality is one of gentleness and kindness, he lights up whenever he learns something and enjoys tradition and the workings of science. He's ever cautious about his thaumaturgical knowledge, knowing that it would loose him his human life that he also enjoys a great deal. He is kind to all supernaturals, but cautious of sirens and vampires.
He is about 5' 11' with a mop of slightly greying brown hair and a five o'clock shadow on his maplewood shaded skin. Wears smart clothes and a pocket watch.

Viola Bloodmancer // Female // Vampire 'Queen' // 23rd of Feburary 1457 (561 years old, looks 28)
Viola is decidedly wicked and makes no attempts to hide it -- she revels in her lust for blood, her carnal prowess, and her rank as a vampire 'Queen' of her own little group in North America. Even though she detests werewolves, she hides this and pretends like she doesn't care that much about them, but if pushed too far her true hatred will shine through. She is keenly intelligent, strategic and can be very cruel, but pleasant to talk to.
Viola is extremely beautiful with a slender, chiseled face complete with high cheekbones and dark brown eyes (though she has many sets of high quality contact lenses she uses to change her eye colour). She was naturally caucasian as a human, and now she is a vampire her skin is most often described as icy. She stands at 5' 6'' naturally, but spent decades mastering the art of stiletto wearing so often appears to be six foot in height. She is not skinny, but slender, with a medium sized chest, slim shoulders and long legs. Her clothing constantly changes but it is always guaranteed to be decadent and smart, but revealing too. Her hair is brunette and shoulder length, often tied back in a neat ballerina bun.
Viola was born under the name "Mary Weston" in Yorkshire in 1457 as a triplet with her two sisters Elizabeth and Catherine, all b*stards to a minor nobleman. She lived in comfort, but had no political prospects. As soon as her mother, the mistress to the minor noble died, Mary and her two sisters were sent to a nunnery at the tender age of 12. Mary grew up bitter and resentful of her father and the nunnery. She often slept around, gambled, drank and commented on politics -- which earned her beatings from the nuns. This did not deter her though, and eventually she went too far so the nun's 'persuaded' the freshly crowned King Henry the VII to sign her death warrant.
As she lay in the cells, awaiting execution, she found a bone and carved it into a dagger -- determined to fight her way out. She cooed the guard over, threatened him then stole his keys. She escaped, but was then shot by an arrow in her back and blacked out, presuming this was her end. But when she awoke, she was a vampire -- and forever had no clue who changed her, how, or why.

Elah Moss // Female // Beta Werewolf // September 1st 1999 (age 18, looks 20)
Elah is the daughter of Benian and Elizabeth Moss, Benian was a powerful alpha but both he and his wife have recently been killed by his apprentice, Dekan, who Elah was formally dating.
Elah has a clay-dark skin tone and large chocolate brown eyes. She has overflowing brunette hair that is puffy-curly and comes to her waist. She stands at 5' 11', making her unusually tall for a human girl but short for a werewolf, is skinny but undertoned with muscles. Her lips are plump, her eyes round. And always, she wears two bronze arm-bands with her father's pack insignia on one and the other has a carving but it is scratched out.
Her personality is generally cautious, but always wise. She is desperate to walk in her father's footsteps and be a leader one day -- something he or her mother never supported though. She has a definite caring streak as well.

Violet // Female // Vampire // 21/02/70 (age 48, looks 17)
Violet has an odd dress sense -- with a full fringe and chest length black hair, long black and white striped socks with shiny purple doc martens on the end of her feet. She also wears a black mini-skirt and a black tight fitting corset top, with puffed ¾ length sleeves and victorian lace frills. There’s also a stripy purple, and glittery scarf around her neck. Without that she wouldn’t be that remarkable appearance wise -- she’s very skinny, very pale, with dull purple eyes (which is where she got her name from). She likes to wear red lipstick a lot, and stands at 5’ 7’’.
Desmond expected Violet’s confinement would curb her personality, but for twenty nine years she has been quirky and bubbly, still exuberant and friendly -- and as ever, has a passion for life and people. For someone who has lived almost fifty years, Violet still acts like a seventeen year old. However, there is a clear streak of fear in her surrounding the fact she is a vampire and what vampires do to people. For this reason sometimes she can be shy and shrink from people, when really all she wants is to be their friends.
And the reason for Violet’s fear is well founded -- she is essentially a fugitive. She was raised from birth by Viola Bloodmancer, who Violet thinks is her biological mother (Desmond knows this isn’t the truth but has never told Violet this because he’s worried it would unstable her psychologically). Violet had always been told she’d become a vampire on her eighteenth birthday, but a few months before she was involved in a car accident and was on death’s door so Viola converted her earlier.
Upon her vampire awakening, Violet felt the normal craving for blood, but resisted despite her mother’s urging. Through her own moral objections, and Desmond’s help, she escaped Viola and asked for his help converting her back to human. But he was unable to. So, until he finds a cure, Violet has committed herself to stay in the black tower -- so she doesn’t hurt anyone.

Beatrice Ezrah Bronze // Female // Ghost // 1st of August, 1975 (Age 43, looks 28)
Beatrice (who goes by many names; Bee, Bibi, Biba, Trix, Trish, Trisha) is 5’ 5’’, very thin and has long crinkly ginger hair, a thin face made complete by harsh eyebrows. Her body apart from that is unremarkable, save for the fact she has pale skin and is always seen wearing a very worn, bloodied and bruised silk white shirt, a leather jacket and some skinny jeans, equally torn. She has no shoes.
When talking to her, although such an interaction is rare since she hides away frequently now, it is clear she’s a damaged soul. She carries this atmosphere of unease and anger around her, is often negative and melancholy. But at the same time she is not afraid of virtually anything -- something that was present when she was ‘alive’. Another thing, although rarely now seen, that is present is her piercing intelligence.
Beatrice’s story starts with her father’s. When Desmond was in his mid thirties he met a female thaumaturgist who shared similar goals with him. Her name was Natalie. They were not married, but got pregnant with Beatrice anyway. When she was born Desmond left three months into her life because he believed Beatrice was not his (due to her pale skin). Natalie became bitter and sour because of this, eventually becoming a thaumaturgist that served sirens. At this point Beatrice left her mother’s side (she was about 19 at the time), because she hated the sirens. She went to find the Bristol society.
There, she found Desmond and he apologised profusely for his behaviour and tried to form a relationship with her. Eventually after five years they had a somewhat amicable relationship but then Beatrice started to investigate magics to make her immortal. Desmond tried to stop her, but she made the decision anyway to do an experiment that would make her the most powerful thaumaturgist alive. But it backfired and she only turned into a ghost. After that, her and Desmond’s relationship degraded, and now they barely speak.

Aurora has pale-ish, Caucasian skin. She has long, thick hair, with small freckles of white in it, which is often tied up in a ponytail. She has greyish-blue eyes, with flecks of green in them.
On the outside, Aurora is nothing remarkable. She appears to be simply a kind and helpful girl, if a bit shy. However, once you get to know her, Aurora is something incredible. She is cheerful and carefree, and takes pleasure in the simplest things. She practically lives to make others happy, and helps out wherever she can. Liam was raised alongside his sister, Aurora Mirren, by Thaumaturgists Jane and Michael Mirren. Melodica // Female // Vampire // May 16, 1439 (age 579, appears 28)
Melodica is a nimbly built woman, her frame thin. She stands at about 6'1, and can commonly be found wearing heels despite her already being quite tall. This boosts her already confident and sly personality. The vampire has a long black and glossy hair, waterfalling past her shoulders like a blanket of silk. Her skin is extremely pale, and her eyes of the deep red found in one's blood. Her long nails are well taken care of and most commonly painted a glossy black or another dark color. Melodica wears lots of clothes most parents would most likely not want their child to wear, usually in black or variations of red. Those seem to be her two favorite colors.
Melodica is a very manipulative woman, usually seeming to find her preferred way whether she earns it or otherwise. She wouldn't hesitate to injure anyone standing in her way. This means physically or emotionally. The vampire has no care for the emotions of others and does much enjoy keeping it so. She does like hopping from relationship to relationship, however, with seductive habits.
She's not much of an interesting person historically speaking. She became a vampire at the age of 28 after falling deeply in love with a vampire. Since then, she's constantly trying to entice men into relationships before feeding off of them and leaving.

see spoiler for picture
Kind to a point but will hurt people if need be. Although she has no reason to she tries to hide the fact she is a banshee, though this is hard since she will go to places of death or impending death without knowing it. She can scream like Lydia from Teen Wolf so that all other noise around her is drowned out and she can focus on the voices she hears. She isn't dead but not truly alive either, more in a limbo state of life and death and is able to commune with the dead. She is able to change from looking gorgeous to ugly in a second.

Fang Wolfe // Male // Full-blood werewolf Alpha // July 8th, 1993 ((Age 24/25, But looks 21))
Fang is, as is the standard for full-bloods, is a staggering 6’3 and has pale white hair with shocks of silver mixed in. He has strong, tan skin and is exceptionally fit and strong, especially in his torso. He is clearly built to be a fighter, and his golden eyes seem to only accentuate the fact. He is quite a kind leader, but when called for he can be the meanest wolf you ever saw. He is also good at forging alliances with other packs, as he doesn’t want any fighting if at all possible. He moved to the area a little while ago and is now looking to strengthen his current pack of one ((whether that be from other wolves joining or from breeding has yet to be seen)). He is currently looking for a mate.

Tuncay Terzi (pronounced “Tun-jai”) // M // Human // Born October 6th 1984 (34 years old and looks about 30)
Tuncay is less than average height standing at 5’7” with a wider but strong build. He has a squarish jaw, rounded chin, triangular nose and wide low cheekbones. He has a very expressive face, prominent brow-line and almond-shaped deep red-coloured eyes. He has broad shoulders, thick but short torso, muscular arms and legs. His skin is a slightly tanned olive skin-tone but still pale-looking in contrast to his dark almost black hair. He keeps his hair and facial hair cropped short when he can.
He’s been mute since he was a child so all his communication is done through writing, body language or facial expressions, luckily he is naturally very expressive and emotive. Even despite not speaking he is still very awkward in social situations, and just sticks close to anyone he knows like their shadow. He is used to being out on his own and is a very experienced for his age, he often goes out camping or hunting on his own and can survive out in the wilderness for months. He’s also trained with a number of different weapons especially javelins he’s an expert at, sort of as a hobby. While he’s not academically smart and couldn’t care less about books and schooling, he’s very practical, clever and resourceful when it comes to the field. He managed to get into the military as early as he could and served for nearly 15 years before he left, since he could no longer climb the ranks up to commanding roles due to his muteness.
His eyes used to be a natural dark brown however they became red reportedly because of a thaumaturgic spell, or curse rather, that makes him see ghosts and the spirits of the dead all the time, and unable to stop seeing them however much he tries. It also seems to cause occasional migraines or spells of blurry vision.

Calliope Marce // Female // Thaumaturgist // March 15th, 1995 (23 and looks her age)
A slender and athletically build young lady, Calliope (preferring Cali) stands at a taller height of 5'10. Her skin is a light shade of brown, almost caramel in color. Across her nose and shoulders a splashes of freckles that, as with most freckles, appear more predominately when in the sunshine. Her eyes are a deep color of chocolate brown and framed with thick lashes. Most notable about Calliope's appearance is her dyed hair. A soft shade of lilac and often down in a fashionable way. When undone her hair falls quite the length past her mid-back and nearly to her hips. Her septum is pierced and she has multiple piercings along her ears as well. Upon her hands are tattoos of witchcraft and thaumaturgy (picture for reference). Along with those tattoos, Cali has a small bat tattooed on her outer left ankle, a crocodile's skull just beneath her bra line on the right side of her ribcage, a snake running vertically down the left side of her ribcage, and the phases of the moon down her spine.
Born and raised in Ipswich, Calliope discovered Thaumaturgy under a different name. She found "witchcraft" when she was very young, around age 5-6. She found herself engrossed in books upon books of the stuff, learning the history and the ways of it all. So much so, that her parents thought her mad and sent her away to an all-girls, Catholic boarding school in hopes of "straightening her out" in a sense. Needless to say Calliope did not agree. She ran away from the school and headed east. Hearing tales and rumors and stories of others like her, though called by another name, she headed for Bristol. It was there she discovered the community, or the tribe, of Thaumaturges living, studying, and advancing themselves. Needing to be a part of it, Calliope made sure she was. The young woman found a job at a local publishing and writing company.
A smart individual, Calliope would have perhaps been top of her class had she finished out schooling. Catching onto subjects like English, History, Foreign Language Literature, and things of that nature very very quickly, the young woman has actually been able to teach herself a couple other languages as well. She has learned Arabic, Spanish, German, and Mandarin so far. Her quick wit also translates into sarcasm and a sharp tongue. Not the best at sugar-coating things, Calliope can be a bit rough around the edges. Her empathy a bit lacking and she doesn't quite get the "be gentle" part of emotions. That's not to say she's heartless or entirely apathetic, it's just a little hard for her sometimes. The one soft spot you can manage to get to with Cali though is her absolute adoration for anything fuzzy. Rabbits, guinea pigs, cats, dogs, ferrets, the whole lot of it all, Cali will swoon over endlessly.
Just as Dr. Bronze often says, a Thaumaturgist is not constrained to one magic and can encompass many magics. Calliope consistently finds herself drawn to the magic of potions, words, mythological beasts, and physical magics like such. Though she finds magics like elementalism, necromancy, and temporal distortion interesting, they don't quite make sense to her. Physical enchantments and incantations though? Calliope will pour over books for endless hours if she was allowed to.
