Violet turned to him, her face a vision of worry. Humans often talked about death, but there as something about the way Liam said it...it made her uneasy.
"Well, you really shouldn't die as well y'know," she commented. "Shame to waste pretty boys like you on something as ordinary as death," she said, her voice lifting into a light, haughty tone before she sauntered off in the direction of the area where Aurora slept. There, she looked over her sleeping friend with fondness -- just happy that she felt as connected to Violet as Violet did to her.

(Okay! I'll start.)
Aurora sighed, staring at the trail ahead. They were about to begin the long trek up Ben Nevis, up to where they assumed the cave was. Liam had insisted that they buy the proper gear - tents, thick waterproofs, water, high-energy foods. He'd even bought a whole box of a weird guava paste stuff that apparently, athletes use for energy. She turned around, grimacing at how heavy her loaded-up backpack was. She still couldn't believe that they were carrying so much stuff. "Okay, is everybody ready?"
(BTW, I went to the Scottish highlands last month and did a few trails, so I'm semi-knowledgable on this, LOL.)

Violet had been watching all the people coming and going from the visitors center beside the ben nevis track. There were students, experienced mountaineers, even some american tourists...all were there. She slid off the fence she'd been sitting on, and internally winced at Aurora's heavy backpack.
"You know, I can carry something -- I'm quite strong," she said, feeling a little guilty that she needed none of the specialist equipment humans did.
[[aww mate yesss. Monopoly. And ya'll know Desmond is going to be the board flipper.
Also, I haven't been to that part of Fort William since I was about six years old, but I really do want to climb the thing before my dad gets too old to climb. I just got to get fitter first lol ]]

[[ Eugh sorry for no replies today -- basically, last night, at 5:30, my bed literally snapped in two and obviously I couldn't sleep in a broken bed so I drove (in my pj's) to my parents 15 minutes away, but it was 6 by that time and I just couldn't sleep. So I had three hours of sleep last night.
Then all day I've been organizing this massive project for my grandma's 80th, my cousin was in hospital last night as well (she's in a lot but I'm worried about her), not to mention me going to 5 shops (two asian supermarkets, tesco, morrisons and aldi), cooking for my dad to say thank you for fixing my bed, organizing to go to Aberdeen tomorrow to get a cornsnake...
So yeah, was really busy and now I'm tired as and totally have 0 creative writing juice so replies will be tomorrow or potentially Sunday...(it's a busy couple of days)
But yes, the cat thing. Are you thinking kahjit, basically? Cause I could sort of do that.
I'm trying to work in a pregnancy thread though now. Pregnancy is my thing (I used to train to do midwifery). Love pregnancy. ]]

[[I got gastric bypass surgery -- essentially, they make my stomach tiny totie thing so I eat less food > lose weight > don't die.
The NHS doesn't give you them, basically, unless you've had like 4 heart attacks and have average blood sugars of 63 (normal is 38), so yeah I didn't want to wait till that point so me and my family decided to spend money getting it done.
Because I have baby stomach, I throw up a lot as a figure out how to eat again -- most people take 6-8 months to figure out how to do that, so there u have it -- a year off.]]

(I wrote a thing up for my Cat-person idea! I tried to copy the style used on the front page I'm so sorry.) Cat-People have the appearance of a normal human, but they have cat ears, plus a tail. These extra features will almost always have fur, and function like any normal appendage. Cat-People also have sharp keratin claws that can emerge from their fingertips, just under their fingernails, and often - but not always - will have sharpened canine teeth. The species has heightened eyesight and hearing, and will almost always have the instincts, behaviours, and body language of a cat. A human can be turned into a Cat-Person through a bite or deep enough scratch. Cat-People have much the same needs as a cat, in addition to their former human needs. A Cat-Person requires meat to survive, cooked or raw - however, they don't share the same foods that are toxic to cats. Unusually, Cat-People can use thaumatology as easily as any human can, perhaps due to their close genetic relationship with humans. |

[[ y'know, funny thing is, I was talking about that with my dad earlier this evening. For me, it felt like an automatic decision. Technically, it was elective surgery. But for me the choice was this surgery or a long, slow death. And I will not put my parents through watching me do that. To be honest, I did this as much for them as I did for me -- which is why I just feel...normal, about it. Something was broken, it got fixed. It's the same as having a c-section for a stuck baby -- something that's needed to save lives.
And yessss omg your catpeople thing looks awesome. I'll add it tomorrow yeah? Tired now, going to sleep as soon as I finish this quest. ]]

(*slithers in* I did a bad thing tonight. I poked at all the interesting RPs on the front page and this was one of them. Worse, I'm probably going to join. XD If that's cool of course. But it's 2:30 here, so not tonight. But someone said mythical creatures and I need an excuse (any and every excuse) to RP Percival, among others. So here I am.)

(As I just commented it seems. Hello Sparkly! Long time no see. And yes, I'd be fine with that. ^^ It would have to be tomorrow and I'm not exactly sure how wise it is to join an RP. Heh. As I ... semi-neglect my own. But I like the idea and worst that happens is that I respond every 3 days or so as is my tendency. >.< )

[[ What uuuuuuuuup. Back for a little while but oh my GOD yesterday was a nightmare. I drove for eight hours with only two five minute breaks in between, in the pouring rain. Had to organize food for my brother, sort tones of stuff out -- then me and my mad fam decided to go to tesco at 11 at night, buy pumpkins, face paint, and firewood and have a bonfire at midnight...so I'm exhausted, but today I've got a lil time.

Violet cocked her head at the figure of Liam charging ahead on the pathway. It was all she could do to roll her eyes. The world may have changed -- tv-phones, and dead singers, and more restrictions on air travel -- but boys were still the same.
"He's not a very social one is he..." Violet trailed off, then gave a wicked smile and pulled out a large bottle out of her comparatively small rucksack. On the side it read 'Glens'.
"We can use this to fix that...or light fires, either way, I'm sure it'll come in handy," she said and then started to head up the track -- slowly, so Aurora could be by her side.

(Yay!!! New people!!!  ) The path, surprisingly, was extremely steep all the way up - not that they hadn't checked first. Apparently, it should only take 7 to 9 hours to reach the summit, but since they were only going part of the way up, it should take less than a day. Despite this, it quickly became clear that none of them were cut out to do this. "I think that I'm about to keel over and die," Aurora said in a voice that was way too perky for that sort of statement. "We're only half a mile up, and it feels like my lungs are about to implode." |

(Oh I wouldn't be surprised if my name seems familiar. I'm that one sort of forumer who is literally the ghost - AKA I haunt a place. WFF and here (OTRP) mostly. So having seen me here or there is a 100% probability. I do not believe we have ever talked but I do know I have seen you around. Nice to meet you.  Then I shall join! Tomorrow with - er - very likely a bunch of vampires because I actually have a story that they come from and I sort of need them to be more developed. So RPing is my way of doing that. Despite the fact that officially they all have pretty solid characters at this point. I've just gotten attached to RPing them. So yes. And would a fallen angel be a nah? Because I have an OC called Lupin ... But I'm cool if not. And debating whether I want to shift around Eveline's and Tom's species or not. Because they've been werewolves and other stuff before. And I'm cool if either of you make characters. Very interested in fact. Just pre-info: I usually do Basic lit for low motivation and something closer to advanced lit for high motivation. It depends on what format I write on. Into the forum chat box? Looking at around 200-500 words. Into a word doc? Upwards of about 600-800. And no worries about the disappearing thing. Been there done that. Usually can pick things back up pretty well when reappearing. ^^ ) |

Violet had just taken to not breathing a while back -- it wasn't technically essential for a vampire, but it wasn't comfortable. She glanced over to her friend and winced. God, she should be able to do something.
"Do you want me to scout ahead, see how long we've got to go?" she offered.
