My dad got the paperwork for the VIN inspection. He took it to the DMV today, and they took it! (It’s about time.) I should be getting the new tags on Monday, but in the meantime, I can put my old plates back on.
I did a really gutsy thing last night. With all the stress of the interview and the VIN inspection, I had neglected to work on a presentation for my speech class. At this time yesterday, I barely had any of it done, and worse, I was scheduled to present at 9 am today. So I went to bed at 10 last night and set an alarm for 2 am. After I woke up, it was full speed ahead. I had to write an outline, make a PowerPoint, and write notecards. Even worse, this presentation required academic research (and citations), and I barely started that yesterday afternoon. I ended up finishing everything right at the time I needed to leave for school (8:15 am). But as long as I live, I swear I never, ever want to experience that again. It was nerve-wracking.

I don't see how you did it, waking up after only 4 hours of sleep would be a terrible time to think clearly for me

That was my fear too, because the cat that got out was actually a barn cat that we took in, so she lived the first 2 or so years of her life outside out in the country, but then we moved to the city and live between 2 very busy roads. It took 7 hours and the fire department, but we got her back. I hope your kitty adjusts well to the new home.

My husband's old roommate got a dog when they decided not to live together anymore (he was moving in with me) and apparently the dog got a hold of one of our cats (she was a kitten at the time) and was shaking her like a chew toy. The dog was just playing (it was a young dog), but it was a rottweiler, so it was still really scary, as the kitten was probably 7 weeks old at the time. It's why I moved out of the dorm a few days early and slept on the new apartment floor - so I could take her out of that situation. I don't think I would ever trust any dog around my cats (even if the one that was a barn cat fought a raccoon and won before), but then again, I'm way overprotective of them.

Yes, my cats are the closest thing I'll ever have to children, and I'm as protective/defensive of them as any mother is for their child. Sadly, the only place I feel like people can even come close to understanding that is on these forums.

My husband understands how I feel about them, but he doesn't feel the same way, so it becomes a problem every once in a while. They are, the ones outlined in red are gone now, but the 4 in green I still have. From left to right they are Booger, Midnite, Keiko, Torino, Sydney, Squirrelflight, and Ravenpaw

Mine was apparently jumped by a dog when riding his bike when he was little - he is absolutely terrified of dogs. He is a cat person, he's actually the reason we have/had 5 of the 7 (Keiko was mine, and I got Sydney when he was out of town once, but the rest were either his when we met or he is the reason they were brought in), but he views them more as pets where as to me they're family. Don't get me wrong, he likes them more than most people, he takes them out on the porch for field trips (it's an enclosed porch) and plays with them and occasionally sings to them, but says he's not willing to give up his own comfort for them (example being if something happened to me, he would probably give up at least 1 if not 2 of them because he knows he would have to move to a 1 bedroom apartment and says 4 is too many for that small of a space, where as I would live in a studio with every single one of them if needed be because the thought of giving any of them up is horrifying). Whether that's true or not remains to be seen, but that's what he claims.

Turin not Torino since you live roughly close to me,I have a question:Are nearly all the trees over there dead?I was going to my mom's house from Rockport and legit 90% of the trees along the road are dead and another 5% have fallen down.

Hi, I was hoping for some advice about a fan fiction quandary/decision I have, and I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out the best part of the forums to inquire in. Is this a good place to ask/ do you know of a good thread to ask for advice about WFF? Sorry I'm so lost

I've been wondering if there was some sort of tree disease going through my neighborhood, because 4 neighbors have cut down really large trees in the past few weeks. I haven't really noticed a lot of dead trees, everything seems to be blooming like always. We've had a few down because of all the rain we got for weeks on end, but not more than usual I'd say.

My understanding is fan fiction is it's own little community on the forums, and while there may be a few that crossover to OTD, WFF is where you will find the most people to help you.

I heard rottweilers are agressive, but my grandma has 10 cats and 2 dogs. they are japanese chins, so they look really cute. they also are pretty rare, so they cost lots and lots of money

i think it all depends on how the dog was raised my mimi has a rottie mix and my aunt had a rottie and they were the sweetest

Yeah it really depends on how they're raised. I got a doberman pinscher and a dobe mix, they usually have a pretty bad rep but my two are the sweetest dogs ever.

ya i agree some dogs just get bad reps and it really stinks
like ok there was this post of a baby feeding a husky and tons of people were commenting how the parents were stupid for leaving their baby with the dog/it was unsafe and its like?? the dog literally was not even harmful?
