(Okay, sorry ) Realizing that she had missed the earlier patrols, Oatblossom sighed. Despite her sleeping in, she still felt somewhat tired. She didn't know what it was that made her so tired. She yawned before grabbing a small, plump mouse. She went and sat down a few feet away from the fresh-kill pile before digging into her mouse. Honeyrose sat beside her sister. "I hope you know that you woke me up just now." Honeyrose said in an annoyed tone before biting into her own mouse. Honeyrose finished it within a few bites.

SORRELWING | Outside Camp | Crowstrike ♥𝒵𝒪𝑀𝐵𝐼𝐸𝒢𝑅𝑅𝐿♥
Ahh, here we go, moving further down had been a good idea after all, as when she stopped moving quickly and quietened her pawsteps, she was able to smell a mouse. As fast as she could with as little noise as possible, she had to move so she was downhill from the mouse. Originally she'd been uphill, and she didn't want to alert it of her presence. Her tail tip flicked back and forth when she thought that she'd win the challenge, and she licked her lips in anticipation. Lightly and low to the ground, she stalked the mouse, until she pounced on it. It squealed before she could clamp her jaws over it and she silently cursed the fact that it now had alerted nearby creatures. Yet, she wasn't too upset. She'd caught the two mice she needed to win the challenge. She picked up the mouse and made her way back to Crowstrike with a proud look on her face. All sense of sadness and loneliness seemed to have evaporated from her - out in the forest, her and her friend, she felt okay. "Look who wins," she puffed out her chest to Crowstrike, her eyes glinted with amusement. "Looks like you're going to be cleaning my nest. Don't forget I like it with feathers!" "Suprise, Suprise." Crowstrike grinned, "The hunter won the hunting contest!" In truth, Crowstrike could not care less about having to clean her nest, he was just happy that the she-cat was happy. He had'nt seen her like this since before Kestrelclaw had died. "Okay so lots of feathers..I guess I should be looking for birds then." He winked playfully, "I bet I can catch more birds than you." he stated swiftly. "This isn't a wager, if you lose you just lose, and I win." he grinned. He knew he was egging her on, but he wasn't quite ready to return to camp and see her revert to the way that she had been. He preffered to see Sorrelwing like this, it gave him a good sense of nostalgia.

Wrenstorm nodded in agreement. "Ah, I almost forgot about the damn snakes." she chuckled softly. She started to pad towards the river that lined their territory. She remembered watching Riverwillow by the river when Crowstrike was being too protective over the younger she-cat. Maybe not 'too' but sometimes you couldn't stop someone from doing something they wanted and the best thing to do was to make sure they were okay while doing it. "I wouldn't mind it either. I wish there was a safe place to swim around here sometimes." Even as a cat, the cooling effect of water when the climate was almost too much bare was always tempting.
Lotuswave nodded excitedly at the apprentice. "It's perfect! You're going to be the best hunter the clan has ever seen!" the she-cat cooed, trying to keep her voice hush as not to scare off the pray. She rattled off other basics of hunting, like avoiding twigs, placement so the pray wouldn't catch your scent on the wind, as well as prattling about the different kinds of pray that could be caught and where they were most likely to find them. "Now, do you wanna try the real thing?" Riverwillow sighed, "Oh me too, I love to swim.." This was the absolute truth, if the she-cat was able to be in the water she would be. "The river is too swift to swim in..in most parts, but it's a long trek to get to the slow parts of the river." she stated, it wasn't necessarily meant for a response... it was more Riverwillow vocalizing her train of thought, a habit of hers. She turned to Wrenstorm, "One of my only memories of my parents involved a spot on this river where the water was shallow and slow... but it's a long walk away from here, which with this darned fox isn't particularly safe..." she trailed off

(Okay!)
Oatblossom didn't even bother responding to her sister. She was always a grump in the mornings and she knew better than to talk to her when she first wakes up. Finishing up with her mouse, she noticed Bluerabbit a few feet away from them. "Hi, Bluerabbit! How are you?" she mewed.

Bluerabbit ;;
With the heat of the day approaching, Bluerabbit wanted to try to stay either in the shade or entirely still; either was fine. At present, the delicate tom was settled with his eyes half-closed and his legs tucked underneath his body, ears half-pinned. As it was, he was relatively calm - there was nothing to worry him aside from the general problems, and with most of MoltenClan worrying about those exact issues, he had decided that he didn't want to worry himself. Would he be cautious? Absolutely. Would he panic? Nah.
A she-cat's greetings broke him out of his thoughts, and he blinked a few times to shake himself free of them before he looked to Oatblossom. After a couple of moments, he pushed himself up into a sitting position and dipped his head.
"Hello," he said quietly, flexing his paws to rid himself of the numbness. "I'm doing...relatively well. And you?"

Oatblossom twitched her ears. "Apart from sleeping in, I'm doing great!" Oatblossom licked her chops, she could still taste a little bit of mouse. She felt a little bad for sleeping in so late but she would make up for it later.

Wrenstorm nodded, frowning to herself. She had tried to keep the fox out of her mind, but she knew she couldn't if she wanted to be smart. The elder wished she could take her friend to that spot, to make some new memories or atleast reminisce in the old ones but she'd be lying if she said she could fend off a fox. She couldn't even stand up after laying down without being in some kind of pain. "Yeah. Well, once this fox is out of our fur we could definitely go and visit and take a dip. My old bones could probably use it." she chuckled. Once they were a little farther out from the camp she stilled her movements, opening her mouth to taste the air for prey. The scent of squirrel hit the roof of her mouth and she felt a swell of energy in her chest as she flicked Riverwillow with her tail, letting her know prey was nearby if she hadn't scented it before the elder.
Lotuswaves wanted to jump around for her apprentice but she decided against in, tuning her energy into a soft encouraging tone. "Applepaw, that was an amazing catch, you did everything perfectly." The orange she-cats chest swelled once again with pride. "Do you want to bury that and move on for some more prey? I'll watch your next catch and after that we can head back to camp with the spoils of your training." the she-cat mused. They had been out for a little bit and she knew a lot of cats were out hunting at the moment either way.

Lotuswaves nodded at her apprentice. "Yeah, I think I will. But, no. Catch whatever prey you can, Can't be picky when on a hunting patrol." she reasoned. She wasn't going to force you to catch specific prey when as a warrior it was rarely a pick and choose thing. "One day We'll practice hunting birds but for now I just want you to get the basics down." Lotuswaves smiled before crouching into a hunting position, opening her mouth to taste the air for any prey in the area. Her ears perked towards the scent of a squirrel that was munching around at the base of a tree. She stalked towards it, keeping as silent as she could as she snaked towards it. It froze before trying to bolt up the tree. The orange she-cat was a blur as she jumped for the trunk of the tree, swiping the squirrel down before pouncing on it when it landed on the ground in shock. She killed it swiftly, holding it in her jaw and then burying it after she was sure it was dead.

"Oh! That makes a lot of sense. Your pelt looks nice though, even if it stands out!" Ravenpaw chirped. He hadn't really taken notice of Ghostpaw's white pelt clashing against the dark green and grays of Moltenclan territory. He thought to himself, It must suck to lose a catch because of your fur color... The black tom felt a bit of pity for the other apprentice, but kept it to himself.
"I hope it snows this leafbare. I think snow's pretty cool, but I'm not entirely sure," he spoke. Although Ravenpaw wasn't too fond of the cold, he still wanted to experience something like snow.
Like Ghostpaw, he took a whiff of the air so he could confirm if any prey were nearby. Nothing fresh yet. Ravenpaw scanned the forest floor, looking for any traces of small animals or pretty rocks. Rock collecting was a strange hobby of Ravenpaw's, considering that they had no use. Of course, he wouldn't tell anyone about it because it was quite a weird thing for a cat to be doing. He just thought they were fascinating and nice to look at. Feathers and leaves were quite intriguing to him as well. It was a shame that leaves browned and crumbled so quickly, otherwise he would always be collecting ones with pretty orange and green marbled designs. Those seemed to always show up during leaffall. Shells were a beauty too, but he rarely ever gathered them because he didn't visit the water too much. These collections were sort of personal to him, since it was all he could do when he was bored without many friends.
Maybe Ghostpaw would think these objects are pretty too? He's kinda.. sorta... like me so it's worth a shot... Ravenpaw wondered before mewing, "Hey Ghostpaw, don't you think rocks and feathers are pretty? I-I don't think they're too amazing but they're cool right?" The tom wished he had thought a bit more before speaking. His positive viewings on these stupid items might make Ghostpaw feel bad for disagreeing. All Ravenpaw could do now was hope that Ghostpaw didn't lie to him and secretly think he was weird when he would bring up his gatherings.
(if you dont mind, i think im going to be adjusting ravenpaw's personality a little... no big changes, just some fixes so its more comfortable for me to rp him. plus i think his flaws are kinda weak since im not so good at showing them rip)

ebonybird. with vixenpaw and quailfeather. "You can take me out of camp, right? It can't be that dangerous if we're close to the camp..." The moment Vixenpaw spoke with her curved lips and sweetened voice, his sharp gaze immediately flickered over to the sinewy grey tom, who stood patiently with his head still curiously tipped to the side. He seemed to be listening attentively to his apprentice's words, locked deep within thought. Sometimes, despite the extended length of time they'd spent together, even Ebonybird found it impossible to decipher the hearty warrior's thoughts. "I need to practice... battle moves."
Oh, for the loving sake of Star Clan. Don't fall for it, Quailfeather. Don't you dare.
"Battle moves?" He watched - with a steadily accumulating sense of dread - as the tall tom's ears perked and his dynamic, green orbs twinkled with an untamed sense of adventure. "Of course," he purred, holding his head high with his chest dramatically puffed out, causing his form to parallel the rounded outline of a Frigatebird (or an overblown balloon). "It's times like these when high motivation and spirit is necessary." Ebonybird was certain that he would have been mildly amused by his companion's unadulterated enthusiasm, had he not been stuck in this particular situation. And he fell for it. There goes my day.
Opposing his playful and boisterous nature, however, there always was a keenness within the massive, lean-muscled tom's green gaze - they were surprisingly watchful, like those of an owl's. A curious and highly affectionate gleam always resided within them, but there was something additional to his appearance that directly reflected his resilient and dedicated personality. And, while sometimes, his presence resembled that of a great stallion, now, it represented that of a motivated kit who couldn't bear to sit still for a heartbeat longer; his large, plumy tail was fervently swishing back and forth, and he was already up on all four paws. The grey tom always did seem to have a soft spot for his apprentice - there didn't seem to be an ounce of distrust he held for Vixenpaw. It was what made him, at times, contrastingly and evidently naive (and in Ebonybird's case, easy to tease).
"But," he heard Quailfeather's warm voice again, snapping him back to the present. "It is dangerous outside, so don't stray too far from me, Vixenpaw." His astute eyes landed on those of his apprentice when he continued: "If there's any sight or smell of danger, you're coming back straight away, no complaints."

Past several bushes and trees, she saw a Raven pecking at the ground as it tried to get a worm. Crouching down and eyes narrowed, she stalked closer and closer, her body ready to pounce St any moment. She paused just as she saw the bird grab the worm and start to tug on it, completely unaware of her. Just as the bird began to eat the worm, applepaw leaped, landing on the back of the bird, who gave out a caw of fear. Fox dung, she bit down on the neck, killing it. She grabbed the bird and walked back to where her mouse was, waiting for Lotuswave. A feather stuck to her nose and she shook her head, trying to remove it. As it fell it caught the wind and she batted at it as it danced in the air.

Hollystrike ;;
At the suggestion of a more private place, Hollystrike wondered if they were actually going to go through with this. He was fine with it, but it was a little...nerve-wracking? Yeah. He followed easily, long legs making quick work of the terrain ahead of them. The long grass didn't seem to bother him in the slightest - if anything, it seemed to be the ideal territory for him. Even if he hadn't been born here, he suspected that he would have found it sooner or later.
"That sounds like a good plan," he nodded firmly, and then faltered. "I mean...the vixen is unlikely to return to her den, right? If that's the case, then you should destroy it. I mean, I'm..." he waved his tail, "less likely to be too badly harmed."
Did that come out wrong? Ah, too late to fix it, now. He twitched an ear and scented the air a few times. Mossthorn was right - he didn't know where the den was. That would be the first step, then! He continued scenting around until the stale scent of the vixen passed his nose. Immediately, he crouched to the ground and glanced to the other warrior.
"We just follow her scent until it's fresh."
OOC: so sorry for not replying sooner, with the weekend coming up ill definitely be posting much more)Mossthorn following scents to @borderline
As Hollystrike motioned to him, suggesting that his smaller size meant he couldn't stand his ground and defend himself, Mossthorn sniffed and held his tongue best as he could.
``Well, any normal person couldn't take on the wrath of a batty vixen, so I have no problem leaving her to your paws. I'll find a way to tear down the nest as quick as I can on my own. We'll make this a two cat job.`` The situation was unfolding itself in front of them neatly like a vivid dream, it was still easy to think about and get started on , but that wouldn't last long. He didn't worry about the kind of punishment this would entail, focusing on what was happening right now as his clan-mate crouched down and glanced at him, making eye contact. ``We just follow her scent until it's fresh.``
``That works.`` The tom mumbled, lowering his nose to the ground and finding the trail he'd picked up, careful not to stumble as Hollystrike started off in a zig-zagged line His unfortunately fluffy tail took up most of his sight. ``And, don't blame this on me if everything falls apart.`` Mossthorn added under his breath, he could feel his paws tingling against the earth and remembered how unnatural the day had turned.

Ghostpaw ;;
As the other apprentice spoke, Ghostpaw's gaze flicked around. His ears perked as he heard a bird flying overhead - but it was too high up, and a branch was in his way, anyway. He flicked his tail and looked back down. There were faint marks imprinted on the earth, and closer inspection showed him claws marks. He scented it and wrinkles his nose. Very stale fox; it had probably passed here at some point. No doubt there were many other pawprints scattered around the territory - but the thought of the fox disgusted him.
"It's su-suh-supposed to be ve-ery cold but..." he shook his head and paused in his movements. "I th-think I'd li-i-i-ke it."
He really did enjoy thinking about snow. What would it feel like? Would it fall like rain, or did it act like ash? He'd heard that there were flakes of snow, too, and no two were the same pattern. Everything about it sounded amazing, but in the place that they were in, it was rare that they got snow. It happened, but so rarely that he could only hope that it would happen in his lifetime.
When the conversation shifted, he twitched his ears and turned to look at Ravenpaw, listening patiently. Rocks and feathers? he thought, and considered it. While he wasn't too into rocks, he definitely liked feathers. They were pretty to look at; he often found him fascinated by cats with feathers in their ears; perhaps it was the reason he'd like a mate in the future - to be able to wear feathers. If it hadn't been for the Birds of a Feather tradition, he would've worn feathers much earlier; as it was, he'd have to wait until he had a mate. That was fine, he supposed.
"I li-li-like feathers," he said, glancing to the trees ahead of them. He could smell some prey ahead - and the river, too. "I do-don't pay much attention to r-r-rocks, though. I'm s-sorry."

"Oh, that's fine! I didn't expect many cats to care about rocks anyways... I just think they're cool sometimes, that's all!" Ravenpaw reassured Ghostpaw, "but I have a collection of feathers! Would you like to see when we're back at camp?" He was secretly a bit disappointed about the rocks, but at least Ghostpaw appreciated feathers. Even if Ravenpaw had to tone down his admiration for different kinds of stones and their colors, he was glad that Ghostpaw told him the truth. "So... What kinds of birds are your favorite? I might have some of their feathers!" he proudly announced. Albeit he only had common bird feathers, but he still found them beautiful. Their intricate designs and colors intrigued him, and there was no way he wouldn't collect some.
His thoughts were cut off after he picked up the scent of a nearby mouse. He quickly hushed himself and whispered, "Hey Ghostpaw, keep quiet. I smell a mouse." He pointed his muzzle to a nearby tree where the scent trail seemed to lead. Ravenpaw dropped into a crouch. He would've never noticed the brown mouse against the dark brown tree bark without his sense of smell. This wasn't going to be anything special, but he wouldn't give up a chance to add to the fresh-kill pile, especially when the prey was right in front of them. He sprang up from his position and landed between the tree roots, flattening all the grass around him. Ravenpaw gave the mouse a quick killing bite and sat down. He buried the kill and immediately started grooming his dirty paws.
"Oh geez, I should pay more attention! I almost didn't see that mouse. Good thing I caught its scent!" Ravenpaw then returned to his question, "But anyways, what's your favorite bird? Mine would definitely be a raven. I'm named after them, after all!" He puffed out his chest, proud of his dark fur. Ravenpaw didn't think ravens were too pretty, but he still admired their somewhat elegant and mysterious figures. He thought similarly about crows. He wouldn't ever be able to tell the difference between ravens and crows without their size difference or unless someone told him.
(oh my god i finally figured out how to indent)

Burntpetal To: @borderline Burntpetal nodded then realized Feathersong could not see it. "Sandkit is very good. It certainly fits her pelt color." She looked at the other she-kit, considering the suggestions he'd given her. Stonekit sounded like a tom's name, and she wasn't sure she liked it for the silver and black she-cat. She also didn't think Cinderkit fit very well either. Cinder was more dark gray than silver, and it didn't describe the little kit's pelt very well. But Mistkit...now that did fit. Mist was usually a light gray or silver color, just like the little she-kit's fur was. "I think I like Mistkit for the other one." She gazed down at the three kits, licking their heads gently as they nuzzled into her belly. Her heart was filled with so much love for them, she almost couldn't take it. She lifted her head up slowly to look at Feathersong, feeling gratitude well in her chest. "Thank you, Feathersong. I don't know if I couldn't named them so well without your help." Ever so slowly, she stretched her neck forward and gave his ear a gentle lick. It was the only way she could show how truly grateful she was for the medicine cat apprentice. Words didn't do it justice.

SANDKIT | Nursery | Burntpetal, Mistkit, Duskkit, Feathersong dawn
The newborn kitten wasn't able to comprehend anything yet. All she could sense in the world were the mumbles from nearby, and the soft and warm that surrounded her. She wriggled against her siblings and let out a high-pitched mewl. She quietened once more when she found food in her mothers stomach. Her small, weak paws began pressing against Burntpetal's stomach.

I believe the last time you attempted to catch a bird you ended up begging for help to get out of the tree you got yourself stuck in..." He figured teasing her wasn't the brightest thing to do, but it was an old habit he was falling into. He missed this, missed the way his friend smiled. He missed Kestrelclaw most of all, but seeing Sorrelwing like this... he couldn't help but smile. Aether I am so sorry, I didn't have wifi like AT ALL this weekend, and what wifi I did was super spotty. ))
