The She-cat laughed, rather loudly “He does act like stone from time to time! Ever since I’ve known him! Even when he found me, he was more TELLING me that I was coming with him, rather than asking me to come with him.” She giggled. She glanced over towards the medicine cats den, from the sound of it Burntpetals kits had been born. “I hope all went well!” Riverwillow stated. "Sounds like him." The elder chuckled, following the other shecats gaze to the nursery. "Oh, Im sure it did. I think we might havw heard something if it didn't." She nodded. Shed been around for some horrid things, one of them being the cries of queens who had lost their kits. She shook her head, ridding herself of the bad memories that came simply with age. "We can visit later, if you'd like we can go out for some hunting?" She offered. It had been a couple since she snuck out. Riverwillow beamed, “oh I’d love if you joined me for a hunt.” Which was true, Riverwillow very much enjoyed Wrenstrikes company. Though typically Riverwillow would prefer to hunt alone, Wrenstrike was the exception. The she-cat pushed herself up off the ground and shook the dirt from her fur, “Which part of the territory would you like to hunt?” The she-cat asked brightly. ((GAH! I really love this relationship, it’s adorable.))

Taking another breathe, she closed her eyes as she let the scents coming to her. She thought back to when she had her first prey. It was mouse— and had a deep aroma of the forest it came from. She'd never forget that taste.
"I smell mostly the earth, but I smell... Mouse!" she said, recognizing one of the several scents. There was a faint aroma of some sort of bird, but she couldn't tell. "And... Maybe squirrels?" She added, he tail moving back and forth, hoping she was right. She'd feel like a mouse brain if she couldn't get something this simple right.
A light gale of wind blew past her, as a small yellow butterfly past her vision and she fought the urge to pounce on it like she did in the nursery.
No! You're not a kit. You're an apprentice! she scolded herself.

Shadowstep & Wolfshadow;;
He had not anticipated for Shadowstep to admit he was worried about him. Wolfshadow prided himself on his self suffiency despite how much he relied on his mate and his clan, there was a part of him that believed he could take on any challenge with the proper preparation and that was what he had been doing. Working hard to prepare in case the given striked again considering how devastating her last attack had been.
The death of Sagestar was a heavy loss he wasn't sure how anyone was dealing with, much less Ashstar who had such a latge role to fill himself. Still, now that the truth was out in the open between him and Shadowstep he felt better if not a little guilty at the worry he had caused the other.
In hindsight, it made infinitely more sense that Shadowstep was afraid of him getting hurt than their... well, big problem. The quiet companionship they shared as a result was soothing. He could let the other know he was here while also just taking the brief moment to rest his weary body.
He was tired, Shadowstep wasn't wrong. But it was times like these where warriors had to rise to the occasion to keep the clan safe, but if it was what Shadowstep asked of him he knew he could try his best to oblige to the small request at the very least. Feeling Shadowstep shift he grumbled low in his throat despite knowing full well someone had approached them. He had just gotten comfortable too.
Just as he was about to ask who it was as he was lifting his head, Ashstar's familiar voice spoke up. His whisker twitched in interest as he met Ashstar's gaze, amused at the sudden statement without much ceremony before realizing this conversation wasn't meant for him, but it was impossible to isolate him or Shadowstep without having the other around. They were inseparable at times unless on different patrols.
"Ashstar," he heard Shadowstep greeting just a moment before he chimed his own. He would have had half a heart to be a little offended that he wasn't being considered for deputy if he wasn't proud of at Ashstar's interest in Shadowstep's ability. It was worse that he found it almost amusing because Shadowstep would probably be aghast at the suggestion if it wasn't brought up cunningly.
He was smart but sometimes oblivious and that was just one of his endearing features. Amused, Wolfshadow held Ashstar's gaze while remaining silent for Shadowstep to answer for them.
"Of course," Shadowstep's voice was warm and friendly, if not a little supportive. He knew Shadowstep would agree to help in a heartbeat but part of him also knew Shadowstep had read the situation wrong. He assume they were merely helping to put the clan back on track after all the complications and what not. Shadowstep was like him in many a sense, always ready to offer his assistance. But he was also a lot more sensible of the two he supposed and more cut out for the role of deputy than Wolfshadow himself was. "If you need any assistance, we'll do our best to help."
Shadowstep's ear flicked against him, a nervous tick that told him to lay off and let Shadowstep handle the situation. So of course he did what he did best, he sabotaged Shadowstep's plans because he had been wrong and Shadowstep had understood Ashstar's vague intentions of testing them.
Before Shadowstep could sabotage himself on purpose, Wolfshadow intervened. He thought that his mate would make a wonderful deputy if only Shadowstep would give the position a chance. "What patrols are coming up? I'm sure Shadowstep knows just the warrior for it." He didnt have to see to know that the look on Shadowstep's face was downright murderous. Or maybe that was just the aura he was exuding.

(( me too omg.))
Wrenstorm smiled, standing and dtretching herself out once again. She grimaced slightly at the little pangs of pain she felt as she started getting the circulation in her body moving again. She quickly fixed her face though and started heading towards the camps entrance alongside Riverwillow. "Oof, I'm not sure. I could probably do with some more rabbit." She chuckled softly. By her she mostly meant the clan since shed just eaten and she was absolutely full.
Lotuswaves nodded, beaming at her apprentice. "In all honesty, I hadnt even clocked the squirrel scent until you brought it up." She purred, swelling with pride. Even with something like distinguishing scent, she felt a bubble of pride in her. The organge shecat nodded to herself, she'd be the best dang mentor she could possibly be and she'd be proud. "Now, can you show me your hunting stance? I remember pretending to hut leafs and twigs as a kit." Somethings were instinct and could be honed through practice, the shecat had learned.

She felt a sense of pride at Lotuswave's words. She even scented something she hadn't! Today was going great so far! The sooner she learned to help her clan, the better it'd be. All the prey would hide from her!
At her mentor's instructions, Applepaw crouched down against the ground, keeping her paws together, rear down. "Like this?" She felt like she had the move down the right way, despite the fact her tail was moving along the ground like a snake.
Birdsong rang through the forest as Applepaw felt energy surged through her. She'd been waiting for this since her first moon and now that it was here she almost couldn't contain herself.

Riverwillow laughed slightly, "We'll see where our paws take us then." she laughed. leaving the camp She could smell Crowstrike and decided to avoid the direction he had been heading in. "Oh Starclan, is it hot out here!" Riverwillow exclaimed. She sniffed the air, hoping to catch the scent of prey but she could mainly just make out the stale scent of her clanmates who had been here earlier, probably during a hunting patrol.

Eagletalon;;
Having just woke up a few moments following his fathers' return, he slowly made his way out of the down noticing that Shadowstep and Wolfshadow were spending time with one another. Knowing it was better to leave them be when they were like that, Eagletalon scanned the camp briefly, catching sight of Coalpaw who was watching them without attempting to hide his curiosity.
Perhaps the apprentice had a question. He wasn't sure. Knowing full well perhaps he would be stepping on some paws if Serpentsong was the kind to get pushy at his involvement in her methods of mentoring, he weighed the pros and cons.
It wasn't like he was trying to outshine Serpentsong or anything. He was just making small talk. Besides, Willowfrost was nowhere to be seen.
Slowly, he made his way over to Coalpaw picking through the camp to the isolated corner the apprentice stuck to. That looked kind of lonely and desolate, he would even dare say. Not much for interactions, was he?
"You know," he began, voice a low rumble but kind, "Shadowstep hates unwanted attention. If you want to talk to them you should just confront them."
The suggestion and warning was friendly as he could muster but sometimes he'd been told by Willowfrost his sheer size was intimidating to the apprentices and his bluntness sealed the deal. There was a read on why the young ones seemed to dread him or something which kind of sucked.
Settling down beside the smaller tom, he wrapped his tail around his paws idly flicking it in boredom as he waited for a response. However, unable to restrain himself he tilted his head to glance towards Coalpaw. "Something bothering you?"
Maybe he was being too prying. He wasn't quite sure, but he did know that the apprentice was just going to sit alone by himself unless someone dragged him out of his shell and Eagletalon didn't see why he couldn't be that someone.

The dark Tom sighed, then had an idea... ‘The snake isn’t very large ..’he thought. ‘And by the way it wrapped itself around the mouse.. it’s a constrictor, not venomous.’ He grinned, lowered himself to the ground once more, and attacked the snake, which quickly uncurled from the mouse to defend itself. The snake hissed at crowstrike and went to strike at his leg, but Crowstrike was faster and clawed at the snakes open throat, cutting it enough for the snake to rear back. That’s when Crowstrike decided to strike he moved quickly to the side of the snake, biting down on its neck, killing it. He then walked over to the mouse... And killed it quickly, as it was barely alive. He looked over at Sorrelwing, “I’m counting this mouse.” He decided. SORRELWING | Outside Camp | Crowstrike ♥𝒵𝒪𝑀𝐵𝐼𝐸𝒢𝑅𝑅𝐿♥
The last thing Sorrelwing had expected was for Crowstrike to turn tail and attack the snake. She'd bristled at the dangerous situation he'd put himself in, even though he skillfully took the snake down, she remain fluffed up (as fluffed up as her short fur could be). Though he turned to her so nonchalant that she could only nod to him, but she thought about how he was a skilled fighter, how he remained uninjured, and she shook her pelt to flatten it. "The mouse counts, but that snake was just a show-off," she meowed to him with her nose in the air. If it had been her, she wouldn't have ever tried to challenge the long and dangerous creature. That was her though, and he was different. "Next mouse wins," she narrowed her eyes at the challenge, then she shimmied under a bush to go back into hunting. She couldn't smell another mouse nearby, so she stuck her head out from under the bush, "Come on, lets move further down and see if there's any mice down that way," she used her head to nod to a downward direction. Then, she bounded out of the bush and through the forest, enjoying the warm wind that blew against her pelt.

COALPAW | Camp | Eagletalon L’Éᴛʀᴀɴɢᴇʀ
Not taking notice as Eagletalon approached him, Coalpaw jumped with surprise when Eagletalon's voice sounded beside him. He turned his eyes up to the tall tom - Coalpaw was so small in size that Eagletalon was able to practically tower over him. But he didn't appear scared at all, other than his surprise to have someone approach him. He ducked his gaze when he realized that Eagletalon had noticed him staring, and he secretly hoped that no one else had taken notice of his curious staring. He shrugged his shoulders slightly before looked back up to Eagletalon's dappled gaze.
"I don't know what I'd say to them - I don't really have anything to say," he meowed honestly. Which was true, Coalpaw never had much to say, but when it came to Shadowstep and Wolfshadow he was sure he'd probably freeze under their gazes. He admired them, their relationship, and their family. He wanted to much that they had. Of course, he'd only ever watched from afar - he always watched from afar. But he knew they were his clan mates and that they weren't strangers, he shouldn't be worried about it. "I think they are great warriors, but I should stop staring,"he finished a little sheepishly with a duck of his head.
Eagletalon's next question surprised him, that caught him off-guard. He turned his head back to the tall tom and tilted his head to the right slightly. There was a flash of defeat in his eyes, though mostly they just looked rather sad. "I'm okay, mostly" he meowed with as much strength as he could muster - albeit only a small amount. "Just missing my father..." he added a little quietly.
He missed his father, of course. But it was more than that. He missed the love from his mother that had been stripped when her mate had been taken from her. He knew he'd try everyday to prove to her that she could be proud of him, but she hardly blinked at eye at him.
"I was hoping to hunt too, but I'm not sure where Serpentsong has gone off too," he added a little quickly, trying to lighten the mood somewhat. He was sad, yes, but he knew that he could only keep moving forward. Even though it was hard, and draining. "I was hoping to go on the next patrol," he meowed. With the fox roaming around he'd been explicably told to not leave alone, but he wouldn't mind having a tiff with the creature. There was something about the challenge that made his heart beat a little faster.

Lotuswaves nodded "For the most part, correct. But lift your tail up, prey would be able to hear your tail dragging across the grass." The she-cat chuckled, twitching her short tail "Even I have to worry about it, Don't worry. Here." she crouched down in front of her apprentice, giving her a visual of the proper positioning. "You basically want your entire body to be a straight line." the orange warrior straightened her short tail so it hovered above the ground, her belly also lifted off the ground.
Wrenstorm let out a purr of amusement and nodded. "Maybe it's the volcano." she quipped lightheartedly. She wasn't getting much more than Riverwillow when she tasted the air. "Am I getting old or is there really no trace of prey?" she tilted her head, treading lightly and avoiding twigs or any especially crunchy leaves if any were to be had. "What do you think of going to the pond or river?"

Crowstrike beamed happily, "I had to kill the snake to get the mouse. The snake was a necessity." he grinned. The large tom then followed the she-cat in search of more mice. He sniffed the air, it was quite obvious that many warriors had been out patrolling today, though he had noticed the rise in numbers of the patrols. Now, instead of 3 or 4 warriors patrolling it was generally a group of five or six. This was in no doubt due to the fox.
The she-cat beamed, "I'd love to go towards the river, possibly get my paws wet.." she stated happily, as an apprentice Crowstrike very commonly had to keep Riverwillow away from the pond and the River and he deemed them too dangerous.. but they were her favorite place to be. "I fear the pond would be to dangerous with how hot it is out, water moccasins are sure to be out." she stated firmly.

Watching her mentor, Applepaw once again tried the hunting crouch. She lowered herself just shy of the ground, her laws straight, and her belly and tail just off of the ground.
"How's this?" she asked, just as she started to lean towards her left side, but she straightened it out. "This better?" Her wide eyes looked up at Lotuswave.
Please let it be right. I know I can do this. I did it as a kit, why was it so hard now? Applepaw knew she could do it.

Ashstar ;;
He felt like there was so much he had to live up to when it came to older warriors. They were used to the previous leader, they had a firm comparison whereas others could adapt, the younger they were the easier - it was kind of...something. Ashstar dipped his head to the two toms and perked his ears as he watched them.
Perhaps he was jealous of what they had. It was something that very few cats could achieve; such a firm bond that they knew what the other was doing, never seemed to tire of each-other, could speak freely and openly. He glanced away briefly to watch the cats of the camp, before his gaze returned to the duo. The tom's ears perked forward and he was glad that he was accepted. Kind of? He wasn't sure.
"Thank you," he said softly.
Then, when Wolfshadow spoke up, he tilted his head to look at the tom. Oh? he blinked owlishly and considered it for a few moments. There were always patrols coming up - he had the hunting patrol under control and already knew he was taking Briarsong among some others. There needed to be a border patrol at the same time, though; he couldn't oversee both at once. He ducked his head and thought for a few moments, before he nodded and glanced between the two.
"There's a border patrol at sunset that runs at the same time as the hunting patrol that I'm overseeing," he explained to them, deciding it was worth addressing both of them if Wolfshadow was assisting him in his plans. "If you wouldn't mind either appointing a warrior or...?"
The rest of his question went unsaid, and there was, perhaps, a mischievous glint to the young tom's eyes. Let it not be said that Ashstar was not a cunning cat; he was certainly that, and he seemed to be completely aware of it.
Ghostpaw ;;
When he was asked what about birds he liked, it made him pause. Though he had scented prey up ahead, he'd found himself...curious about his own answer to the question. Ghostpaw squinted down at the ground, claws digging at the dirt in an absent manner. After a few moments, he stood up and glanced to Ravenpaw from the corner of his eye.
"I like them be-be-because they're hard to ca-atch. Y'know?" as quiet as ever, he looked up to the trees and squinted thoughtfully. "They - they have no fe-fear for that which cannot catch the-them."
He felt like it was valid. He'd like to be like a bird; unworried about things that didn't concern him, able to get away from trouble when necessary. The slender tom paused in his movements and watched as the very prey he was talking about flew a little lower than he supposed was necessary. Immediately, his senses were on high alert; he crouched down, wiggles his haunches, and pounced upwards.
There was no doubt that his pounce was a powerful one - and, just barely, he managed to bring the bird down. Perhaps it had been the extension of his paw, but as he brought it (still alive), to the ground, he glanced at Ravenpaw with a twinkle to his eyes. It was the first time he'd successfully done that; most of the time, he ended up falling over.

Burntpetal To: @borderline The cream-colored cat understood immediately what Feathersong was trying to say. He couldn't see the kits, so how could he give them proper names? Well, Burntpetal wouldn't have it. She looked down at each of her kits, trying to come up with the best ways to describe them. "There is a light gray tom with black spots on his eyes, muzzle, and paws. He reminds me a lot of how his father looked." She thought back to her mate. He'd been a strong, handsome tom with similar gray fur and black spots. Burntpetal remembered how her mate had wanted a son, so he could name him Duskkit, after his brother who'd died at birth. "I'm going to name him Duskkit." She looked at the two she-cats, both looking very different from each other. One of them looked quite similar to her, while the other was more like her father. "The two she-kits look very different. One of them is silver with slightly darker tabby markings while the other his light orange fur, almost the color of sand." She really needed help with naming the kits; she wanted to give them the best names possible.

HAWKGAZE, SPIDERSTEP | Camp | Open to replies c:
The constant warm was something familiar, though Spiderstep still cursed it when it meant she couldn't laze and sleep in her nest all day. It was truly saddening. The long-limbed she-cat uncurled from her mossy nest and pushed herself to her paws. She took her time with a long, deep stretch of her muscles before she shook her pelt. It was quite the extensive wake up routine. She'd been up early that morning for a patrol and had gone back to rest afterwards, now that it was the afternoon and her stomach was growling she was ready to face the day for a second time.
As she stepped outside, she blinked her eyes to adjust them to the afternoon sun, then she glanced around to see what the clan was doing during her slumberful absence. Many cats were eating and sharing tongues together she noticed on her scan of the clan - it was the perfect time to rise. She walked along quickly thanks to her long limbs and she ducked her head to the fresh kill pile. Rabbit, rabbit, rabbit... She always loves a plump rabbit. She let out a soft ah-ha when she nosed her way to the one remaining rabbit. She picked it out and took it to a shady spot to sit.
As she did so, Hawkgaze nosed his way into camp. While it wasn't necessary, the young tom had taken it upon himself to stand out by the entrance of camp and monitor who went out and who came in - for safety reasons of course. He didn't question others or bother them on their way, he just wanted to make sure everyone returned safely. With the fox on the loose in their territory one couldn't be extra careful. So, whenever he wasn't patrolling the borders or hunting for prey, he could be found by the entrance to camp - their volunteer protector of sorts.
The muscular tom strode in his head down and his tail flat, seeming in a bit of a grumpy mood as he did. Spiderstep waved her long, thin tail for him to come to her. "Come here you big fluffcall!" She called to him playfully, though he wasn't particularly fluffy. He complied, walking over quietly, his bored green eyes narrowing at his sister. "Want to share my rabbit?" She asked warmly, gesturing to the rabbit.
Hawkgaze nodded and let out a raspy thanks as he helped himself to Spiderstep's choice of prey. "Hey, not all of it!" She pawed at him with sheathed claws until he lifted his head, his mouth full of the prey.
"It is mine," Spiderstep brought the rabbit to her chest, now protective of it. She began to eat it slowly, and Hawkgaze rolled his eyes.
"So much for sharing," he murmured.

Oatblossom stirred awake. She accidentally slept in, again. She had a feeling she most likely missed the early patrols, and she confirmed her own suspicions when she walked outside.
Honeyrose followed her sister in slight annoyance, grabbing a small mouse from the fresh-kill pile.

Ravenpaw was so taken aback by the quick white blur of Ghostpaw that he had some trouble registering what had just happened. It took him a moment to realize and when he saw the bird in the apprentice's jaws he couldn't help but exclaim, "Wow Ghostpaw! I can't believe you caught that!" Ravenpaw quickly corrected himself, "I-I mean, I'm not saying you're bad at hunting or anything, but catching a bird is pretty impressive!"
The black tom felt embarrassed that he had not noticed the bird sooner by being so caught up in his thoughts, but he dare not let it show. He quickly got over it and decided that he wanted to hunt something big or fast to impress Ghostpaw. After all, he was set on being a "role model".
Ravenpaw raised his muzzle in the air, trying to catch the scent of any prey nearby. Unfortunately, he found nothing. It was only the scent of the freshly caught bird and some young prey but the thought of taking children away from their mothers made him feel pity for them. Maybe the smell of a bloodied bird was overwhelming all the other scents. The apprentice didn't mind much, since he was going to be with Ghostpaw for a while. It would be impossible for him not to catch anything while he were out.

Feathersong ;;
"Dusk-kit is a good name," he mused softly, twitching his ears as he listened patiently. Feathersong waited as the appearances were explained to him - and he had to admit, he was a little surprised. For Burntpetal to patiently cater to him, it was...nice. It was so easy to go oh, okay, and move on; and yet she hadn't done that. He lowered his head and considered it.
There were many sorts of names when it came to kits; he liked many of the names, though some...he wondered why they were named that, but hey, he couldn't be a critic. The young Medicine Cat wanted these kits to have a strong start to life - and yet, at the mention of the kit's fur looking like sand, there was only one name that really stuck out to him.
"Sandkit," he offered up, albeit shyly. "I'm...not sure for the other, um. There's...Cinderkit...? Mistkit...Stonekit. Ah," he laughed, "I'm sorry, I'm a little bit bad at this."
Ghostpaw ;;
A little taken aback by himself, after ensuring that the bird was dead (it was), he set it down and looked at it for a moment, before his gaze flicked up to Ravenpaw's. He managed to give a quiet, nervous laugh, sitting down and moving his tail back and forth. It rustled the grass around them, but he didn't really mind that.
"I didn't think I wo-would do it," he admitted softly. "I-I-I've been trying for a lo-ong time. This is the first time I've been able to ca-ca-catch it."
Practice made perfect, it seemed. He wondered if he could make that his thing, the thing that was distinctive about him; a birdcatching warrior! It sounded like an exciting thing to be - snatching birds out of the air with ease. Admittedly, this hadn't been easy, but if he learned the right way to do it...would it become easier with time? He hoped so. Absently, Ghostpaw began to dig so that he could hide his prey away for later, and then looked up to Ravenpaw and twitched his whiskers.
"Do - do you want to co-continue going on?" he asked, pointing his muzzle towards the forest.

Wrenstorm nodded in agreement. "Ah, I almost forgot about the damn snakes." she chuckled softly. She started to pad towards the river that lined their territory. She remembered watching Riverwillow by the river when Crowstrike was being too protective over the younger she-cat. Maybe not 'too' but sometimes you couldn't stop someone from doing something they wanted and the best thing to do was to make sure they were okay while doing it. "I wouldn't mind it either. I wish there was a safe place to swim around here sometimes." Even as a cat, the cooling effect of water when the climate was almost too much bare was always tempting.
Lotuswave nodded excitedly at the apprentice. "It's perfect! You're going to be the best hunter the clan has ever seen!" the she-cat cooed, trying to keep her voice hush as not to scare off the pray. She rattled off other basics of hunting, like avoiding twigs, placement so the pray wouldn't catch your scent on the wind, as well as prattling about the different kinds of pray that could be caught and where they were most likely to find them. "Now, do you wanna try the real thing?"

"Well I'm glad you've got the move down! That was really cool!" Ravenpaw purred, "and yeah, I would like to go further! Let's go adventuring." His amber eyes were glazed with joy and his mouth curled into a smile. He rose from his sitting position and took the lead like before. He looked back at Ghostpaw, pausing to make sure he was following after.
Ravenpaw was still wondering about how and when he could exhibit his hunting skills. He could try to outrun a rabbit, jump as high as a bird, or outsmart a snake. He secretly hoped for an encounter with a dangerous snake so that he could really show off. At the same time, he hoped that he wasn't extremely lucky with any of his catches. First of all, he wanted to use his skills, not pure luck. Second, he had realized how proud Ghostpaw was of his catch and he didn't want to outshine him. Although he wanted to impress Ghostpaw, it was fine with him if it didn't end up happening. He didn't need compliments or praise to feel good about himself.
"Hey Ghostpaw, what's your favorite season? Mine's Newleaf. I get to eat a lot!" He let out a small chuckle at the last part. Ravenpaw's questions were simple and he was aware of it, but he didn't mind much. The black tom appreciated being able to carry on a conversation with someone, even if they were very short.

Ahh, here we go, moving further down had been a good idea after all, as when she stopped moving quickly and quietened her pawsteps, she was able to smell a mouse. As fast as she could with as little noise as possible, she had to move so she was downhill from the mouse. Originally she'd been uphill, and she didn't want to alert it of her presence. Her tail tip flicked back and forth when she thought that she'd win the challenge, and she licked her lips in anticipation. Lightly and low to the ground, she stalked the mouse, until she pounced on it. It squealed before she could clamp her jaws over it and she silently cursed the fact that it now had alerted nearby creatures. Yet, she wasn't too upset. She'd caught the two mice she needed to win the challenge. She picked up the mouse and made her way back to Crowstrike with a proud look on her face. All sense of sadness and loneliness seemed to have evaporated from her - out in the forest, her and her friend, she felt okay. "Look who wins," she puffed out her chest to Crowstrike, her eyes glinted with amusement. "Looks like you're going to be cleaning my nest. Don't forget I like it with feathers!"

Eagletalon;;
Noticing the surprised response he received from Coalpaw, Eagletalon couldn't help but feel a little amused. Clearly Coalpaw trusted the clan completely as Eagletalon had came to do when he had grown to Coalpaw's age, it was heartwarming but given how there was a threat with a vixen on the territory, Coalpaw's lack of caution gave him some degree of worry. But Coalpaw handled himself well at the very least. He didn't seem intimidated like some apprentices would, so that was nice.
The honesty was also nice. He knew Coalpaw had no reason to lie to him, but he would have expected some hesitance or surprise at him directly calling out his actions. When met with neither, he chuckled softly, shaking his head. "They know quite a bit. If you need advice, I'd say they'd be a little helpful to you." Allowing his gaze to wander over to his fathers, he noticed that they were now accompanied by Ashstar. Interesting to say the least. "But yes, if Shadowstep catches your gaze he'll give you a look that could freeze the volcano over."
wip. will finish later, kinda lost track of time and now it's bed time LUL

Applepaw nodded enthusiastically. "Yes!" She took a scent of the air and she scented a mouse near a few trees. Eyes narrowing, she stalked silently forward, moving downwind of the brown mouse as it chewed on a see near the roots.
It can hear you before anything else, remember Applepaw. She reminded herself, getting ever closer to the mouse.
The mouse stopped eating its seed, it's ears stuck up, its little nose twitching. On the alert, the mouse began to run off but Applepaw shot forward and landed on it, pinning it down. Before it could warn the rest of the forest with it's petrified squeaks, she killed it quickly.
With the mouse dangling in her mouth by the tail, she walked back to Lotuswave, her eyes bright with pride.

Ghostpaw ;;
Being complimented was a nice feeling; he felt the warmth in his chest and he felt his mood lighten. If other cats had this reaction too, maybe he would practice the move more! He'd have to see about it. Though he paused momentarily to ensure his prey was properly covered, he began to follow Ravenpaw deeper into the forest, tail raised in his happiness. Despite the height of the grass, his tail-tip poked up through it; this wasn't too uncommon with him, though he supposed it was uncommon for him to hold his tail like this.
"Le-le-leafbare," he replied, hopping over some rocks and pausing to scent the air before he continued. He could smell the stale fox-scent, but it was distant and as such, he wasn't too worried about it. He could also smell the previous patrols; fresher, but obviously stale by some time. "E-everything is paler and my f-f-fur doesn't sta-and out as much."
He wondered if that was a valid answer - then decided that yep, it was. Though he expected that it was colder in other lands not near here, he knew that it did get fairly cold in leafbare. When he was a kit, he'd listened to some elders talk about snow and about how rare it was here, but that it did happen. He hoped for it to fall one day, so that he could find out what it was like. It sounded cold and if it looked how cats named with -snow looked, then he supposed it was rather pretty.
"I'm - I'm lucky that a l-lot of our ter-territory is in th-the mountains," he admitted softly, gaze flicking to where he could just about see the volcano in the distance. "E-easier to hunt there."
