Thanks guys I appreciate it. I love my cat more than most people. I've had him for fourteen years. I love him to death and he's always helped me cope with my anxieyy and things. I'd be ripped apart if I lost him esp if it was my fault. And we just got the dog and I do really love her too and I'm scared for her as well

Service, worship, sermon, mass, liturgy, religious ceremony, ritual, adoration, praise.... come at me hearts and tree Ohhh myyy goshh... That just brought back memories of going to adoration with my mom. I had to draw pictures to keep me busy. She kept them too... *dies* I was annoyed whenever I went to those when I was a child.

I literally know nothing of anything in the differences between any of that stuff I just listed. Why can't there just be a universal name? Like 'love time' or something.
What do you go to now Raven, and what's the difference?

Hey @spottedstar3137
Also we are now going to petition the Pope and every other Christian leader on this planet to rename Mass/service/etc. "love time"

@batman : Is it alright if I call you Ves for short?
@ellie: I can sorta relate to what you've said you see. I've been paranoid since I was little, so much so that the feeling that invisible people are watching me is totally normal and has long since stopped freaking me out. But these past few years have been...different. Usually it's just the invisble eyes supposedly watching me, but I started noticing things out of the corner of my eyes. So I wonder if that's different.
@jess: I don't know. I mean, I'm hesitant to link mental illness to demons for obvious reasons. At the same time, I think the modern world (and Christians) have grown comfortable with the idea that demons don't exist, and so they're never suspected. I think it's more than likely that some mental illnesses could be caused by demons, but I believe the majority is just biological problems without sinister influence.
Here's food for thought for y'all, building off what Sarah said. Mental illnesses/handicaps are becoming more and more common, especially in the youth today. At the same time, the idea of demons and faith are becoming less of a common belief. Could it be possible that there is a connection between the two? Could the unbelieving and indifferent generation be making themselves more vulnerable to sociological demonic attacks, resulting in increased mental illness? Just an interesting thought I just had.
Also, I'm curious, what do non-Catholic denominations do about exorcisms?
@tre: we'd love u back if y'all cROSSED THE SCHISM YOU DIRTY HERETICS

That seems to counteract what Jesus said about people born with handicaps. The blind man and his parents were accused of sin and Jesus clearly said that no one sinned but it was going to be used to glorify God.

"Service" is pretty universal.
Adoration is something completely different, though. Service/mass is the weekly Sunday meeting when the church members congregate to hear the pastor/priest's sermon on the daily Bible reading. Basically all Christian denominations do some variation of this, and this is what most Christians mean by "going to Church." Meanwhile, adoration is a strictly Catholic thing. It's not required, but rather an optional way for us to pray. A Eucharistic host is placed in a special glass container and placed in a chapel in full view; this allows Catholics to essentially sit in the presence of Christ and pray. I used to find it deadly boring, but as I've gotten older, I've come to find adoration to be peaceful. Nobody talks, just sit quietly and contemplate. Quite serene.

The blind man and his parents were accused of sin and Jesus clearly said that no one sinned but it was going to be used to glorify God. I'm not speaking of physical handicaps, but mental ones. Anxiety and depression, for instance. So much of the younger generation suffers from at least one of those two, if not both. I wonder if the staggering amount of faithlessness among today's youth makes them much more vulnerable to demons to inflict such illnesses on them.

What do you go to now Raven, and what's the difference? Adoration (for Catholics, and it's an Eucharistic one I believe) is just when the Blessed Sacrament is exposed and people who are more devoted to God and Jesus pray in front of it. My mom was one of those people who participated. It doesn't necessarily replace mass on Sunday/Saturday. As far as I know, it happens usually on the first Friday of every month. Basically a sign of devotion. Mass is probably a ritual or something. It's hard to explain since I never thought of it much. I still go to mass with my parents when I'm at home, sooo...I've always been there, done that. I have no idea about the rest that you mentioned before.

Saint Ambrosef: That is a really interesting idea that I'd never considered. It does seem clear to me that things are getting worse in a huge variety of areas as the world slowly moves further away from God. As far as exorcisms go, it really depends on the denomination. AFAIK, the Protestant denominations whose practices are closest to those of you filthy Mary-worshippers also have views on exorcism that are similar to yours. Charismatics have a... unique approach to it, as they do with most things, but for the most part it doesn't seem unbiblical or heretical (I say "for the most part" because there's always gonna be that one guy who claims the Lord told him to do the hokey-pokey while taking copious amounts of drugs in order to exorcise a demon). For the most part, though, I think mainline Protestant denominations generally go with "in the name of Jesus Christ, rebuke them and tell 'em to get the heck outta there".

Idk I personally think that mental illness is a chemical imbalance not a spiritual problem. Yeah it's definitely a chemical thing (as in there's like hard scientific proof for it), but I do think that demons are able to take advantage of that and do as much as they can to worsen the effects of it.

We Protestants have a unique kind of exorcism called "Put That Thing Back Where It Came From Or So Help Me"

This is actually pretty interesting.... I wouldn't be surprised if there is a connection between them. It might be possible if that would make them more vulnerable.

By yalls theories I am absolutely screwed all to heck. I have so many illnesses that I'm probably so open to demonic activity I may as well go hang out in the caves like the demonic man that Jesus healed.
