Similarly to Jester, I'm not well versed in the flood topic. So I don't have much to contribute.

Random weird books? I beg to differ. xD (#formerCatholicstudyingfaith)
As for the Great Flood, I don't know much about it other than the Noah's Ark story and the fact that there were other flood stories.

Man, I'm almost about done with these forums for a while. I just blocked someone for the very first time today. I'm here to relax and get away, not to see fighting about topics I'd rather not talk about everywhere.
I need to come on this thread more often.

People like to shove stuff in others faces all day long. It gets annoying talking about the same thing 50 times a day.

To add to the flood discussion... here's an interesting article detailing the massive amounts of water found in the Earth's mantle, primarily beneath Asia. christ's cistern handy when he needs a flood or two

Hey guys here is question for you all:
How do you all feel about Christians who don't celebrate and view poorly Halloween with the excuse being that they are Christians? Even though I'm like 99% sure Christians were involved in it's origins which confuses me

Honestly I'm really confused on this matter myself.

Hey guys here is question for you all: How do you all feel about Christians who don't celebrate and view poorly Halloween with the excuse being that they are Christians? Even though I'm like 99% sure Christians were involved in it's origins which confuses meOoh, good question. I love Halloween. My mother hates it. It's just a matter of perspective. The holiday is thought to have originated with the Celtic Samhain Festival, and the initial purpose of the costumes and 'scary' decoratives were to repel ghosts and demons, if I remember correctly. So, no, its origins haven't got to do with worshipping the devil or anything like that. That said, some Christians (my mom included) feel that it celebrates darkness, and for that reason, are put off by it. I understand that, but being a closeted goth myself, I quite like dark things (see: dark in aesthetic; I'm not talking the Occult, which I am very firmly against) and don't think appreciating them is inherently a bad thing. One thing I'm pretty sure everyone can agree on is that dressing up in a costume and eating candy, which seems to be of the foremost festivities of Halloween, is not sinful (so long as your costume is not immodest or profane). It's more to do with what you believe should be celebrated.
