Ok but don't you guys just love apologetics It's so awesome Freaking yes. Like I was thinking about the apologetics class I had in 9th grade and I realized that it literally changed my life. I had a spiritual revival shortly before that, but I was still sort of just believing on pure faith, and although I still thought that atheism was the more rational worldview (due to spending too much time on edgyatheist™ sites), I was content with the Holy Spirit. But then apologetics class taught me that Christianity is not only defensible, but rational, and my mind was blown. Totally changed everything. Ugh it's just so amazing

ugh guys i'm super sad about my current literature teacher/future religion teacher he just doesn't embody the christian spirit he just... he HATES lgbt+ people, and i mean hates, not just disagrees with. he's also intensely misogynistic, to the point where it's terrifying.... apparently, he's failed multiple people for calmly disagreeing with him on his views on women and lgbt+ people, even if they simply say that they don't think he's being very christian. please pray that i have the strength to deal with this guy...

Will def pray for you! since he holds the power over your grades, it's probably best to keep your head down and just get it over with. Hard I know, but you won't have to deal with him forever thankfully. I really hope it works out for you, it wounds awful and I hate that you have to go through that :c

Can you guys pray for my friend's safety?
She's going to a public school this year, and her boyfriend just dumped her for refusing to send him nudes. He also tried to "do something" (she didn't say what) with her after she told him "no". I was afraid something like this might happen, because she's very attractive and boys have tried to take advantage of her before. So could you guys just pray that she'll be discerning enough to avoid the creeps, and also that she'll be safe?

Hey we should talk about Noah's ark. What do you guys think about the Flood? I personally believe that it was local to the Middle East- there's even evidence to suggest a massive flood happened around that area

I love that this thread is allowed to be a thing c: I don't have a lot of christian friends in real life so being able to come here and discuss with fellow Christians is great cx
Oh, as for band suggestions, if I am allowed to suggest a band that is christian or christian related, I would like to suggest twenty one pilots. I know a lot of people might have only heard their "popular" new songs, but a lot of their older songs and even some of their newer songs have religious influences if you listen to the lyrics. They aren't a Christian band, but both members in the band are Christian and I love them (: especially their older stuff. If you listen to their song called "Ruby" It's about an autistic girl that he would meet every sunday at church and it's really awesome c: Just overall, I would recommend them, they have great lyrics and deep meanings, and I respect that they don't cuss in their music to get their point across.
Now that my mini rant about my favorite band is over xD nice to meet you all! I am Nova (: you may call me anything you please haha

I personally believe that it was local to the Middle East- there's even evidence to suggest a massive flood happened around that area I've talked about this with my sister (who isn't christian) and she believes that the whole earth didn't flood, but that the area where this story was written was flooded. It makes sense, especially since people back then probably wouldn't have know about the rest of the earth necessarily?... or would've assumed that everything flooded and not just where they resided, so it would've seemed to them as the whole earth.

Hey we should talk about Noah's ark. What do you guys think about the Flood? I personally believe that it was local to the Middle East- there's even evidence to suggest a massive flood happened around that area Im gonna disagree with you on this. From my personal studies of ancient civilizations, nearly every one has a story of a flood. This encompasses the whole world and not just the Middle East. I would also like to point you in the direction of the Grand Canyon and the fossils that have been found. Evolutionists have an idea that with every layer it is a different period of time. However with the mass of similar fossils and the fact that they are all from a similar time frame, this further proves a flood. Checking at the poles and the ice caps, we can observe that those occurred due to a flood. You're probably thinking, okay, Story, what's this one all about, I dont get it. If the flood was world wide and lasted forty days and forty nights, covering the world for even longer, naturally there would have been a side effect. Perhaps this side effect would have been an Ice Age. There is plenty of evidence that an Ice Age had come along at least once in our human history, this concluding that the flood was a world wide event, not just a localized one.

There is plenty of evidence that an Ice Age had come along at least once in our human history, this concluding that the flood was a world wide event, not just a localized one. This is obviously a huge topic of debate. I believe that the scientific and biblical evidence points away from a global flood and toward a local one, and you believe the opposite. We can argue back and forth about this all day, and people have indeed been doing just that for hundreds of years, but I think we should just agree to disagree on the topic. Edit: I will say that the flood stories from ancient civilizations are probably because everybody in humanity was in the Middle East at the time of the Flood. The article I linked above even says something along those lines from a secular standpoint.

It's said in the Bible (Genesis 7:11) that the water rose 15 cubits (about 22 1/2 feet) over the mountains. Water seeks its own level, so the waters would have spilled over the mountains at that height if the flood was llocalized. If the whole world is flooded, the water has no place to go.

Welcome » η σ v a. ^.^ If I'm totally honest, the Flood is one subject in which I'm not very well learned. I've read different theories and interpretations and haven't yet felt any were entirely conclusive. I do believe that the Flood was a literal event, but the specifics I'm a little unsure about. I'm going to read the articles that you linked, Splintercat, thanks!

a lot of people are democrats, so if they excommunicated them for voting for Hillary, then there wouldn't be many people left to go to church! i mean they can't really be devoted Catholics if they currently vote that way anyways, so idk if it'd be that'd great a loss.
