Sorrelecho
She let out a soft purr, so quiet that one would have to be listening quite closely to hear. Their bantering was soft and warm to watch, and she found herself enjoying being pulled into it, when usually such things caused her unease. Sorrelecho supposed it was the way the two were going about it; not at all pushy, instead allowing her time to sort her thoughts and speak without becoming irritated. It was soothing, and much appreciated.
Being touched by another cat was something of a rarity to the calico. Because of her introverted nature and her lack of real, familiar relationships with others, it was simply something that almost never happened. Aspenfur's consoling, gentle touch caught her by brief surprise, though she quickly relaxed. The golden tom's friendliness was new to her, but it wasn't unwelcome. Instead, she gave the other a small smile, hoping that it gave him some reassurance as well.

Partridgehop accompanied by Nightwhisper . {{ ᵏᵉˢᵗʳᵉˡ }} . {{ camp }}
Partridgehop wasn't too far from the fresh kill pile as her muddy amber eyes rolled over the camp dully. She wasn't all that interested when she heard the commotion for those attending the mentor and apprentice training patrol, so she stayed put in camp like usual. Not having an apprentice was a blessing in her eyes; she didn't have to watch over another feline and act like their scolding mother until they were old enough to be a warrior. Snorting quietly at her thoughts, the abrupt sound of a familiar voice boomed in her ears.
Immediately, the silver patched tabby turned towards Nightwhisper, a neutral tone ringing throughout her voice. "Good morning. Looks like it took you awhile to get up," she remarked, her plumy tail flicking behind her teasingly. "Did you enjoy sleeping in, Nightwhisper?"
The chilly air that whisked itself through SkyClan's camp didn't bother Partridgehop one bit. If anything, the female was a fan of the cold. She was fond of the brisk air, the snowy tops of the trees and how the light, frosted clouds hung above. In her eyes, it was a time of stillness where most cats were upset with the weather whereas it lulled the senior warrior to sleep.
Swiftly, the muddy gaze of hers trailed after the tom's tail which poofed subconsciously. It was amusing, to say the least.
"Looks like you're not thrilled with the change in weather," she purred, rising to her paws as she stretched instantly. "You know, there's nothing wrong with leaf-bare. You just have to move around a bit, get your blood pumping and you'll be fine. Or would you rather sit around and pout all day?"

Mirroring the senior warrior's position, he propped himself on the camp's cool floor while placing a respectful amount of distance from her. The last thing he wanted or needed at the moment was to evoke any feline's ire, and though his normal demeanor consisted of something akin to apathy and indifference, he seemed a little more awake and a little more conversational than usual. Perhaps the clamor that blanketed them was influencing him to exhort more energy than he normally did.
I suppose it isn't so bad, he thought silently, almost fondly. If he allowed himself to truly think about the noise that swept him off his paws, it did bring back memories. His weary amber gaze traveled over to rest on Patridgehop when she spoke, drawing him out of his reverie. "Looks like it took you awhile to get up. Did you enjoy sleeping in, Nightwhisper?"
"I'm not sure if I enjoyed it. I'm practicing my hibernating technique, after all," he answered with a straight face. "It's a rather challenging skill to master. Considerably more difficult than hunting."
He followed her gaze with a twinge of curiosity, only to realize that she'd spotted his tail, which had poofed to a considerable degree. After a silent, fleeting beat passed by, he moved the location of his tail very, very slowly so that it reposed next to his flank - the flank that didn't face the sagacious tabby. Of course, he did this with no defined emotion breaking through the tiredness that masked his features.
Sitting and pouting sounds manageable, he thought as his orbs took in the scenery around them once more. "In that case," he said gruffly as he rose to his paws, still cautious about keeping his tail out of sight as much as he could. "I suppose I should put myself to work." He had overslep-... over-practiced his hibernation technique, after all, and the prey pile was looking a little thin. Without another word, he simply glanced over in Patridgehop's direction as if to ask: will you be coming along with me?

Aspenfur &&. Marigoldheart
He had always loved the forest and the characteristics it exhibited. It grew, it changed, and even if he looked at a specific location one fine afternoon, the next day, there would be more to see. Nothing remained the same. Every unexplored, covert area always gave a new source of adventure, and he accepted these developments with alacrity. Even now, he realized that he was yearning to seek out something wild - something untamed beneath the grass that sprouted between the stones, over the mighty, ancient trees, and up in the boundless, blue sky. Each and every moment he spent outside, especially when he was encircled by the individuals he’d come to care for, was a period of time he valued. It was one of his virtues, being able to appreciate so much from what appeared to be so little.
Perhaps it was this aspect of his personality that allowed him to greatly cherish the small smile Sorrelecho offered. It was surprising, too, but in the best way possible; he didn’t think he’d ever seen the calm warrior smile, and he couldn’t help but mirror the slight curve of her lips in response. He had a feeling that, had Marigoldheart spotted it, too, his midnight-furred companion would’ve shared a similar reaction. The muscular tom was masked with indomitable stoicism exteriorly, true, but behind his firmness and strength, he had the soft heart of a mother hen when it came to regarding others, after all.
Ahead, he came to a halt, causing Aspenfur to stop in his tracks, as well. It seemed like Marigoldheart had spotted something, because he’d raised his tail high as a signal for them to cease any further movements. He watched as his close associate sank down to the forest floor and silently glided over the leaves with his black pelt rippling in the process. The plump mouse at the side remained blissfully oblivious of the glint in his eyes that only surfaced at times of intense focus - a strike of golden lightning that significantly sharpened his gaze and made him appear almost glacial. When Aspenfur opened his eyes again, he saw the tom standing over his catch. "I almost missed it," he said, almost sheepishly.
( allsoo no need to worry, corvo, i don't think it's short at all!! )

“I, sure.”
“Hailstep,” he gently teased with his mischievous green eyes twinkling upon hearing and sighting the rather seemingly bashful response elicited from the warrior, “you aren’t embarrassed, are you?” He couldn’t help it. Teasing others came to him naturally, and it almost played a pivotal role in his character. Of course, he was well aware that sometimes, with his blunt and idiosyncratic nature rooted deep within himself, it could go overboard without himself even realizing it, though that wasn’t something he was willing to do with the kind Siamese. In fact, most of his current attitude came from his trust for Hailstep that it wouldn’t be taken the wrong way. With those he remained at a distance with, he rarely ever spoke so jocosely or without his sharp-tongue, after all.
When the smaller tom suggested a direction, he nodded his head good-naturedly and followed the feline with a flick of his tail. “So, what’s your favorite prey?”
“My favorite prey?” He mused with a tilt of his head, allowing his orbs to wander over the branches that swayed high above their heads. “Hm, let’s see… I'm not very picky but if I had to choose, I guess it’d be a crow. What about you?”

a d a y a n d m o r e ᵏᵉˢᵗʳᵉˡ h a i l s t e p The joking tone in the male's voice was soothing, his ears cooling down as he sighed gently. Laughing off the tease, he calmed himself down. "Pssh, me? Embarrassed? Ridiculous!" he purred, his tail swaying a bit before he felt his muscles relax from their previous state of tension. Upon hearing his favorite prey being crow, he nodded his head a bit. The stumpy male trotted alongside Heronfeather and let his plume of a tail sway back and forth with a bit of... confidence? The Siamese male let his pace slow as he opened his mouth partially, letting the scents flood his mouth. "I'd have to say either lizard or mouse," Hailstep replied eventually, letting his large ears angle around. He flicked his tail once he had noticed the smell of just that; a mouse. He focused his faulty eyes as best as he could ahead of himself, lowering down against the terrain as he slunk forward. Upon hearing the rustling in the grasses before him, he strained to see the rodent. Letting in a silent inhale, the clumsy tom lunged forward, landing a few mouse-lengths away from it. Huffing angrily to himself, he lashed out a paw and swatted at the creature before it could get away. Hailstep hissed as the rodent wriggled in his claws, his head whipping down and nipping at the creature's spine, snapping it. Sitting down, the short tom let himself cool off from the embarrassing encounter. "Foxdung," he spat at the deceased animal.

Little Announcement - - Cro and Fae will be stepping down from their moderator positions. While this is unfortunate, I respect and appreciate their decisions. I also appreciate their help while they were moderators. Cro will remain a regular member and Fae is taking a break from SkyClan. The appropriate actions for her characters will be handled. She wishes for a clean slate and I wish to grant her one when she can return. Some notable cats, such as Silverwisp, Ashenthroat, and Stormtrail will need special attention. So there may be some changes in our plans regarding the battle and overall plot to accommodate the continuity flow. We already have many characters to handle, so I will be moving the greencough epidemic up and introducing a fox attack. The fox will maim Marshclaw, sending him into retirement and kill Silverwisp. Stormtrail will be the first to die of greencough, which will have Luka/Hollowpaw train via StarClan and dreams. Blizzardstar will appoint different warriors for Spiderpaw and Brackenpaw's mentors. Ashenthroat will die when during a sign from StarClan. He will not be replaced by a stand-in mate for Applefrost. (Who was planned to be expecting soon, so that's moved up. If you want a kit, let me know.) The rest of Fae's characters will be assumed to have died from greencough or the battle. I apologize for any specific plans you have made, I'm willing to reroute the smaller plots to suit your needs, but unfortunately it is what it is. I do want to also thank you guys for being as active as possible and getting things moving on in SkyClan. I'm trying my best to be understanding of school, work, and other important real life needs. All I ask is that you remain as active as possible and if you have something that may negatively impact your activity, you can message me here or on discord. A friendly reminder, we do have our own server. Some announcements have been made there, and this is the little recap. Thank you again for being such awesome members. <3

{Training hollow, 【 ᵗʷᶦˡᶦᵍʰᵗ 】 }At Blizzardstar's pairings, his heart jumped. Finally we get to do stuff! he thought to himself. He turned to Ambrestone and grinned. "Badgerpaw and Brambleheart should be fun. Right?" He mewed, his paws twitching in anticipation. He had been waiting for what seemed to be ages to go out and practice his hunting skills. He rose to his pawws, ready to start, but stayed close to his mentor, waiting to follow her lead.{Training Hollow, 𝚌𝚊𝚛'𝚊'𝚌𝚊𝚛𝚗 }
Dovespeck looked around at the apprentices and their mentors, looking for the other cats she and Foxpaw had been paired with. She heard Foxpaw sigh and she turned her gaze to him. "Everything okay?" She asked quietly, not wanting to make a scene of anything. She and her apprentice had been paired with Brackenpaw and Marshclaw, two cats she didn't really know all that well, but she herself was eager to train. {I am sorry for my grossly short posts >.<}

Mudfur sat in the corner of camp, slightly down trodden that most of the cats had left to go train their apprentices, Amberstone being one of them. The two cats had gotten close over a short period of time, but due to Mudfurs age, he wasn't able to have his own apprentice yet. He understood why Blizzardstar wanted to wait to have the older warriors train the apprentices, yet he longed to be out there with the other cats. He perked his ears as he noticed Blizzardstar and Applefrost in the camp entrance with a new cat. He perked his ears and his curiosity intensified. He too, at one point, was brought to camp as a new comer, him and Frostpaw, and the clan had so graciously welcomed him in. As Applefrost and Luka made their way over to him, he half stood in excitement. "Hey Apple!" He called out, waving his tail. "Who do we have here?" He asked, eyeing the new cat.

The leopard-furred she-cat had only arrived moments before being instructed to go along with her apprentice as well as Spiderpaw and his mentor. Leopardcloud let out a low huff and a nod of understanding to her leader, "Alright, Frostpaw, I expect a lot from you today," the she-cat looked at her apprentice with a hint of worry. Leopardcloud had to admit to herself that she hadn't been especially active in her training, and with Frostpaw's punishment and antics with Spiderpaw, she had felt discouraged to bring her out often. Hoping for some miracle that with their little training together and Frostpaw's own natural talent she would be successful, she rested the tip of her lengthy tail on the apprentice's shoulder and nodded with some encouragement.

Sorrelecho
The she-cat always found a fascination in watching how the sun's light peered through the canopy of the leaves in ray beams. It gave the forest an ethereal feeling; mysterious, yet grand. The greens and browns of their surroundings was beautiful, and she silently flexed her claws into the soft ground beneath her paws. Sorrelecho had been impressed by the Clan's territory since she was an apprentice, and her feeling of awe and wonderment had never faded from her heart.
She watched as the black warrior crouched low to the ground, quietly observing his hunter's crouch with a hum of thought. Marigoldheart was lightning-fast, his instincts keen and sharp, though Sorrelecho's eyes were able to keep up with his speed without too much trouble. The calico had always had good eyes for detail; it was a reason that her hunting prowess was respected by her clan-mates. She had a hawk's eye for the smallest things and was able to track swift movements without much trouble. Once the black tom had made his kill, Sorrelecho purred in wordless compliment.
The scent of thrush overhead quickly caught Sorrelecho's attention, and she glanced up to survey the high branches of the trees. Finding the source of the smell perching overhead, the she-cat swiftly bounded to the bottom of the tree, sure to keep her paws light and quiet. She scaled the large tree with deft paws, digging in deep with sharp claws to keep her grip. The bird, unaware of the cat below, simply stretched its wings and sung a call.

Foxpaw
Turning his green gaze on his mentor, Foxpaw twitched his tail. "I was hoping we would get paired with Sweetpaw," he admitted, his low voice rumbling in his chest. The russet-colored tom then quickly got to his paws, giving Dovespeck a reassuring smile. "I'm still rearing to go, of course," he purred, stretching out his front paws as he spoke. It was good to see the training hollow abuzz with mentors and apprentices. He himself really was excited, but he couldn't help but feel a small pang of disappointment.

Luka
Slowly trailing behind Applefrost, the small tabby tom kept his blurry gaze focused on the ground, careful of his pawsteps as to not trip. He was in a foreign place; and his poor eyesight made him prone to misplacing his paws. Luka needed time to get accustomed to their camp, but he suppressed a hiss at the thought of being prisoner for so long that he could get familiar with his surroundings. The warrior's - Applefrost had said his name was Mudfur - upbeat voice caused him to scowl, though he kept silent. Great, more forest cats. He just couldn't wait to get his ears chatted off.

{Training Hollow, Morticat}
As Leopardcloud appeared in the training hollow, Frostpaws nervousness grew. She and her mentor hadn't done much training, with her mentor due to her little adventure with Spiderpaw, and other things that seemed to get in the way. Frostpaw let out a nervous smile and she shuffled her paws. She was thankful that Blizzardstar had put her and Spiderpaw in the same group, she felt super comfortable with him, despite their punishment. She looked up at Leopardcloud and twitched her ears. "Don't worry, I've practiced some on my own free time." She mewed, looking back down at he paws. She was slightly afraid hat her mentor would look down on her like some of the other cats did since she was't clan born, but she pushed that to the back of her head; she needed to focus on her hunting and battle skills at the moment. {Training hollow, 𝚌𝚊𝚛'𝚊'𝚌𝚊𝚛𝚗}Dovespeck blinked in understanding at the young apprentice. She felt slightly bad for not spending more time with her apprentice before now, for she felt like she really didn't know him, nevertheless, training must be done. She rose to her paws and stretched. "Well, lets get going, shall we?" Se looked around for Brackenpaw and Marshclaw. "Maybe they'll meet up with us later." She mewed, looking back at Foxpaw, her eyes soft.

A small nod. "Yes, they should be fun." Slowly, the female rose to her feet, stretching in the process. Oh, she did love trying to tick of her apprentice; therefore she took her sweet time. Forearms outstretched, she finally had gotten up, only to stretch once more. Only this once, she had outstretched her hind legs, back curling inwards. Sighing in bliss, the faint cracking had erupted from her backside. With a mischievous grin, the mentor fully stood. "I guess we'd better head to Brambleheart and Badgerpaw."
&
Unaware to Foxpaw's feelings of wanting to be paired, the she-cat only huffed in thought. Turning around, the calico apprentice tilted her head at the sight of Foxpaw. Waiting for him to make eye contact. Hoping for him to catch her eyes, she grinned brightly. Steadily blinking, the she-cat worded a "talk to you later" before dividing her attention back to the leader. With a flick her tail, the trainee had completely focused onto Blizzardstar. Not only did golden flecks scatter around her irises, but so did admiration. However, she couldn't help but be upset that she wouldn't be paired with the russet tom. With a small sigh, she attempted to dismiss the thoughts.

Unease had settled in his chest for a while now when being around Frostpaw, but now, as he was paired with Frostpaw, he felt quite a different tone was in order and that words really needed to be said. Although they had shared their punishment together, the tom-cat had tiptoed around her and did his best to avoid saying or doing the wrong thing. For the longest time he had pressed it into his mind that it was his fault that she had gotten into trouble, and that it was his fault that her clan-mates would question her loyalty due to her background. Spiderpaw had felt immense guilt he couldn't seem to get away from, but in the moment sitting beside her and preparing for training, he didn't want one more moment to go by with them being simply cordial.
"Hey Frostpaw," the black-furred tom said under his breath in her direction, keeping the conversation private from their mentors, "Let's make this a competition," Spiderpaw winked at her, sinking his claws into the ground and picking up loose soil and pebbles as if he were a ferocious competitor. The apprentice was hardly one to want to be the best or to be a grand warrior; all he wanted was some way to get close to his friend again, even if it meant he had to get a little tired out and his pelt dirty.

Catching the she-cat's eye, the russet tom smiled softly. She seemed genuinely excited to get to train with Blizzardstar, and he felt as though some of that enthusiasm was rubbing off onto him. Talk to you later, he watched her mouth, and twitched his ears in acknowledgement, nodding his head in agreement. He wanted to get to know the younger apprentice, and hoped that they could be good friends in the future. "Good luck," Foxpaw silently mouthed back, a twinkle in his eyes.
Turning back to his mentor, the apprentice gave her a small bob of his head. "Which hunting techniques are we going to practice?" he inquired, flicking his bushy tail across the floor of the hollow. Foxpaw was already trained in all forms of hunting; he was nearly the age to be made a warrior. Excitement buzzed in his chest at the thought. He would serve his clan whole-heartedly, and couldn't wait to become a full-fledged warrior.

Partridgehop ; accompanied by Nightwhisper .. {{ ᵏᵉˢᵗʳᵉˡ }} {{ camp }}
Muddy amber eyes flickering in the growing light, Partridgehop was apt to make a move out of the camp as she had been cooped up for too long. Though she wasn't too pleased with how distracted Nightwhisper suddenly became, she couldn't blame him just yet. After all, the tom had just woken up and was a little groggy or so that's how he seemed. With a small chirp leaving her maw, she had anticipated to gather his attention once more. Those that were dreamy itched the feline the wrong way. It wasn't her fault they were idealists. Things were much easier if they would live in the moment and handle things properly instead of standing around with their heads in the clouds.
"Hibernating technique? I haven't heard of that one before," the silver patched tabby mewed, tipping her head to one side. Her professedly imagination reappeared without a word as she tried her best to visualize the hibernation technique. All that came to mind were the laziest cats around. "That's not too surprising. How well have you done so far, Nightwhisper?"
If this so-called technique, hibernating, was real, she could only wonder how she would fair at it. The senior warrior knew she was a light sleeper and that didn't exactly help during leaf-bare. With her gaze chasing after his, Partridgehop was becoming a tad intrusive. She assumed that the warrior was now conscious because of his poofy tail and, to be frank, it was more than humorous. She could compare his behavior to an apprentice's for that, though stating it would land her in trouble.
"That's an idea," she mused before imitating his movements.
At least the tabby tom had some sense in him. He didn't even need to ask the she-cat if she wanted to hunt; the answer was more than evident.
"Prey's not going to catch itself, little one," the amber eyed warrior added teasingly, curling her plumy tail for effect. "Might as well get a move on before everyone else returns from their training feat."
With her final words, Partridgehop was off and about as she made way for the camp entrance. Maybe Nightwhisper was good company, but only time would tell.

{Training Hollow & Morticat }Frostpaw's fur prickeled as Spiderpaw whispered to her. She had not said one word to the apprentice tom since they had both gotten into trouble. He looked down at her paws and twitched her whiskers. "Your so on." She mewed quietly, looking at him out of the corner of her eye. She missed her friend, and was excited to rebuild their relationship. She had to be careful though, Spiderpaw was almost old enough to be a warrior, and she didn't want to do anything to mess it up for him. Maybe now she could prove herself to Spiderpaw. Even though she was small, and not a clan born warrior, she was fixing to prove to herself, and everyone around her that she was warrior material. She let out a light purr and rose to her paws, turning to Leopardcloud. "Where shall we be going today?" She asked, her paws itching to start and prove herself to Spiderpaw.
{Training Hollow & 【 ᵗʷᶦˡᶦᵍʰᵗ 】 }
Boulderpaw lowered his head and glared at Amberstone. He knew she took her sweet time with him sometimes, and it drove him crazy. "If I didn't know better I'd say you were about to retire to the Elders den." He mewed, irritation lacing his voice. He was joking with his mentor, but he was sure that if anyone else had heard him, he was sure they would take it the wrong way. "Do I need to carry you?" He laughed, flicking her nose with his tail.
{Training Hollow & 𝚌𝚊𝚛'𝚊'𝚌𝚊𝚛𝚗 }Dovespeck looked down at her apprentice and flicked her tail. She was still slightly new with the whole apprentice thing, and was constantly worried that she was doing something wrong with Foxpaw. "I think we should practice hunting birds and maybe a few rabbits." She had purposefully picked the two hardest things to hunt, sure to test Foxpaw. He was an older apprentice now, and should be made a warrior here soon. "I'm sure you can handle that." She mewed teasingly. She lead the young apprentice out of the training hollow and through the trees. She made sure to keep her paw steps light, and her voice low. "You take the lead, I'll follow. I will let you know what you've done wrong afterwards,and how to do it better, then we'll try it again." Her voice was light and airy, trying her best to keep it quiet so she didn't scare away the prey.

Getting to his paws at his mentor's prompting, the russet-colored tom dipped his head in response to Dovespeck's requests. "I'll be sure to do my best," the apprentice purred with determination in his green eyes. He followed her out of the hollow, slowing for a moment to listen to the rustling of the leaves. A cool breeze ruffled his fur, and Foxpaw's whiskers twitched with the feeling of the tickling, brisk air. Today would be a good day to hunt - he could feel it in his bones.
Foxpaw swiftly quickened his pace as Dovespeck handed the reigns of the training to him. Birds and rabbits, the tom reminded himself quietly as he opened his mouth to taste the crisp air of leaf-fall. Almost immediately he scented the mouth-watering smell of blackbird. The russet apprentice patiently scanned the branches of the trees above them, his ears perked in alertness.
He caught the slightest of movement at the corner of his eyes, and he swiftly turned his head towards the source of the movement. Foxpaw saw the gentle shaking of leaves in one of the branches, as well as spotting the stretching of a long, night-black wing. The tom swiped his tongue across his lips, already able to taste the bird as he stealthily prowled to the bottom of the tree that the bird was perched in.
Unsheathing long, sharp claws, Foxpaw lifted his front paws onto the bark of the trunk with practiced silence. He dug deep into the tough material, using the strength of his forepaws to propel himself up the tree as quietly and as quickly as he could, his sharp eyes trained on the ignorant blackbird above.
