Breezewhisker didn’t wait for Nettlefly to reply as he saw Orchidbloom moving over. He took comfort in her confident words and felt more sure than ever that BloomClan would survive these unfortunate times, times that would end soon.
“I can help! I can do whatever is needed.” Breezewhisker sprung up excitedly as his mind began whirling. Helping was never his strong suit but he might as well do it for the sake of his clan, he thought to himself with a little shrug. Anything for BloomClan. Orchidbloom seemed to be fully accepted into the clan by him, but the other cats did sometimes seem a bit wary of her. Why? He thought trusting cats was easy if they just had the right personality and way of speaking.
Willowpaw hadn’t spoken since, but she saw a group settled by the fresh-kill pile that mildly sparked her interest. She wanted to be useful but talking didn’t seem most appealing.
Hello. Willowpaw used telepathy to convey her message as she moved over and listened in on the conversation. What about the herbs? We will need to move them out of camp, right? It’ll take work to save all of those bundles.
She pitched in once more, almost curious now. The curiosity couldn’t shine through her voice very well when she was speaking telepathically but any cat would know that she was more than keen to help out. Maybe being an apprentice really did change her.. She had talked more in these few moons than she had in her entire life. Was that an accomplishment or a failure? She still regarded talking as a huge waste of time. Everything was to her.

» NETTLEFLY
Nettlefly glanced around. He was still on edge and wasn't sure if he'd trust Orchidbloom right away, but he remembered the courage she'd demonstrated during the fox attack. He would let her back into the clan, had it been up to him. She would make a good deputy, and Nettlefly hoped Robinstar would agree. BloomClan needed all it's authority figures.
The pale brown warrior didn't feel like speaking, so he switched to psychic powers. "Looks like it's starting to rain," he started as droplets splattered over his muzzle. "We'll be wet tonight. Hopefully the stars go easy on us. Hey Breezewhisker, Orchidbloom. You fought well today. " Looking up at the sky, he knew it was going to be a long night. The nearby Heart Rush gurgled in response, and Nettlefly felt chilled to the bone. He noticed Willowpaw listening in, and he couldn't help but think. They'd have to save Nightleaf's herb collection, but that would be a task. Why, StarClan? He cursed the spirits under his breath, annoyed that their camp was near turbulent rapids.
» ROBINSTAR
"Sounds good, Cloudheart." Robinstar dipped his head to the white warrior, pleased. "I'll help with the Heart Rush, I think we'd have to mark that along two points and I'd like to avoid another Rufflefur, however unintentional it may be. Speaking of which, I still need to deal with her. You should be fine with the Larkstream though." The brown tom nodded again, heading off in search of a stick. He motioned for Cloudheart to do the same. At least BloomClan had a few strewn around the camp; river marking was common business.

Nightleaf :Nightleaf watched as Orchidbloom got up, before the she-cat winced in pain. ‘ Make sure you don’t strain yourself. If it hurts, come back!’ Nightleaf yelled telepathically at her before she left. She turned to Duskpaw, grabbing more dried oak leaves and apllying the juices to his cuts. An awkward silence filled the air as she did this, so Nightleaf decided to break the ice. “How do you feel about Orchidbloom rejoining here?” -bluestorm- Spottedpaw :Spottedpaw squeaked in fear as the sound of thunder echoed through her ears. She flattened her ears and hised at the sky. ‘As if that would do something...’ she thought to herself. Spottedpaw saw a lightning streak, as bright as the sun and in a jagged line cut across the sky. Spottedpaw watched it in awe. Who knew something so beautiful was so dangerous? “What if it floods?” She asked Eaglestrike and Ashfeather. “What will we do? Where will we go?” She asked, paranoia nagging her. ashfeather

"Calm down." Ashfeather said cooly, the apprentice's constant questions getting on her nerves a little bit. The patrol had luckily allowed her to cool her anger slightly, but it was easy for it to flare back up again. The flashes of lightning and claps of thunder didn't seem to faze her as she padded along calmly ahead, "The camp has flooded before, but the water normally drains within a day or so. We should be able to find shelter elsewhere for one night if need be."
--
Cloudheart dipped his head respectfully in response, before turning towards the Larkstream. Luckily, he was able to find a large, thick stick with relative ease, picking it up in his jaws so that it was pointed ahead of him. Padding up to the river as close as he dared, not wanting the ground to give way beneath him after having been weakened by the water, he reached his head out and carved out a line in the dirt of the river cliff just above the water level. He then decided to draw a line above his first, just below the top of the river channel. If the water reached that top line, it would mean that it was about to overflow.

Breezewhisker gave a nod of acknowledgement to Nettlefly. “Thanks, you did well too.” He couldn’t manage a smile while he was trying to stop the rising worry stirring up in him as he saw the warrior’s turbulent gaze. Suddenly turning to Willowpaw as if he didn’t notice before, the warrior sighed. “It’s got to be a team effort. I’ve got a big mouth, literally, so I think I can help with that.” He mewed with a sort of renewed thought that didn’t quite make the cut for being optimistic yet. It was all he could do. “You know what? I think it’s still odd that the original BloomClan put their camp in this location...!” Breezewhisker chuckled slightly even though it was rather unfortunate. He was just trying to make things happier for the time being and forget about the bad things potentially ahead.
Willowpaw looked at Breezewhisker with narrowed eyes, suddenly looking more threatening than ever. “Why are we joking around? I get it, you want to help. Can’t we all just stop and think about the doom that could potentially set upon us and the cats who might get hurt? We must prepare and not coat everything with honey.” She suddenly spoke telepathically to mostly Breezewhisker, but she was certain that it would get through to the others by the mere strength of it. She absolutely hated how he always tried to joke around. Breezewhisker probably wouldn’t even help with the herbs. It was well-known that he shied away from the medicine den completely and wouldn’t even touch a bundle of herbs. Maybe for the sake of his clan, but it was unlikely.

(Hyello! I’m thinking about making a character that was in Bloomstar’s era. I was thinking about her close male friend, and how he was sort of like a deputy to her and a source of good advice. When that great force of cats attacked Bloom, it was him who had betrayed her and was leading them on to attack her. He has since been in the dark forest, bitter at first but now growing to accept his consequences and wishing that he could change them. He wants to move to StarClan after learning his lesson alone, but it’s too late now.)

Spottedpaw : Spottedpaw nodded, her black fur and cream patches drenched with water. Bloomclan camp finally reached her vision. Gleefully, she raced towards the camp, her clumsy legs already scaring mice and voles away. Spottedpaw was too naive to see this and headed straight into camp.

ASHFEATHER || Camp || @sapphire646
Ashfeather rolled her eyes at the apprentice's seemingly uncontrollable excitement, watching the few critters that had not yet taken shelter from the storm flee the scene. Great. There goes dinner. She couldn't remember a time when she had been that excitable - although to be fair, even as an apprentice Ashfeather had been the same old cold she-cat the rest of the clan had grown to know. The site of their camp ahead comforted her though, despite the storm making the ground wet and muddy. "Try not to slip." she called out sarcastically to the clumsy apprentice ahead of her, knowing Spottedpaw's inability to contain her excitement may land her in trouble someday.

Spottedpaw :Spottedpaw turned to Ashfeather, not knowing the warrior was always so grumpy. Spottedpaw couldn't ever think of a time where Ashfeather wasn't so grumpy. Maybe when she caught her first piece of fresh-kill? Or maybe when she had her warrior name? "I won't slip!" She called after her. "Also, lighten up a little!" She laughed, before racing away. However, she didn't take Ashfeather's advice literally. Her wet and clumsy paws, weren't able to catch up to her energy. She slipped forwards, right into camp, landing on her muzzle. "Ow..." She muttered. 'I hope I haven't embarrassed myself!' She thought. ashfeather

ASHFEATHER || Camp || @sapphire646
Ashfeather glared at the retreating she-cat, her tail thrashing with annoyance. Lighten up a little. she mimicked in her head in an irritated voice, The nerve. She had a right mind to teach her a thing or two, but Spottedpaw soon seemed to learn her lesson after tripping over her own paws. Padding past her, she looked down at the apprentice, "I did warn you." she sighed with a small roll of her eyes, before padding past the apprentice into camp with a flick of her tail. If Spottedpaw didn't want to listen to those older and more experienced than her then hey, that was her choice. EAGLESTRIKE || Camp || @sapphire646
Eaglestrike sighed, watching Ashfeather's inevitable irritation at Spottedpaw's comment - Spottedpaw should know better than to get on Ashfeather's nerves - before he saw Spottedpaw trip over her own paws. Knowing Ashfeather wouldn't exactly care for the apprentice's mistake, he padded up to her, entering camp as he did so. "Are you okay?" he asked calmly.

She shook herself, just to send most of mud flying, including on Eaglestrike. "Whoops..." She laughed nervously. ashfeather

» ROBINSTAR
"Hello Eaglestrike," Robinstar replied with a curt nod, turning around to face Eaglestrike. His own stick laid forgotten by the riverbank, but it would soon serve it's purpose. "Did your patrol manage to chase off the foxes?" The reddish brown tom was tense, like the rainwater that cascaded over his pelt. It would flood soon. He was less hopeful of the inevitable outcome as the seconds passed.

Nettlefly felt bad for Breezewhisker, but he had to agree. In difficult times, joking around was not going to help. He didn't mind the warrior's constant chattering, but he could see why Willowpaw was irritated.
"I agree with Willowpaw," he whispered in their minds. "However, we should probably put that behind us and help. Maybe we should ask Robinstar or Nightleaf if there's anything we could do to prepare for the coming storm. What do you propose we do?"

ORCHIDBLOOM: Orchidbloom looked around at the rapidly dampening dirt, brushing aside the squabbles she heard from Willowpaw’s direction. She thought as deeply as she could, and spoke aloud to her clanmates. “Breezewhisker, you and I should go gather sticks and twigs in order to help keep the dens in shape.” She gestured at the brown warrior with her head, nodding towards the treeline. “Nettlefly, Willowpaw, I’m sure Nightleaf needs help in the Medicine Den. Why don’t you head over there before this weather gets any worse?” Her voice was urgent yet reasonable, a good reflection of her how she felt indeed. DUSKPAW: While Nightleaf worked, Duskpaw chose to pay attention to the water droplets smacking the dirt rather than the open injuries scattered around his moon-gray pelt. “I’m not sure yet. We saved each other’s lives, and she seems like a strong cat. I trust her, for what it’s worth, and I hope the other cats can, too.” Duskpaw labored his words as he croaked a response to Nightleaf’s question. @negatorri ͐T͐͐ᴡ͐͐ɪ͐͐ɪ͐ᴀ͐ @sapphire646

» NETTLEFLY "That's a good idea Orchidbloom," Nettlefly responded telepathically, feeling strange and slipping with his own voice. "It would be work to make sure the herbs stay dry in this lousy weather. Tawnywing, would you like to help gather some sticks?" The brown tom paused for a moment to glance around the camp. "The dens would really need propping up; they'd probably collapse with rain like this. I'm not sure what Nightleaf would want us to do, but leaving the herbs in the holes we call dens just won't work." ((gah, not sure this turned out well.))
Fogpaw had a bundle of thick grass and twigs in her jaws as she skittered into camp. She hadn't been assigned any job in particular, so she'd tried her best to fetch supplies to help- though she wasn't exactly sure if anyone noticed her doing so. She wouldn't blame them- she must be doing a terrible job, they must have not asked her to help because they knew she couldn't do anything right, they must have...
Expressionless despite her whirling, negative thoughts, she headed to the apprentice den, mimicking the motions of the other cats as she reinforced the walls with twigs and grass. She worked very slowly, not being quite sure what to do and trying her best to be precise and meticulous. She wouldn't be the one to make the wall collapse! She had to do something well for once. It wasn't like she could help by bringing back prey, she was an awful hunter.
Scorchkit peeked out of the nursery, twitching an ear as an errant drop of rain landed on his face. The camp was swarming with activity- all the warriors seemed to be out and about. The sky was an angry gray, and every so often bright flashes darted through the clouds- lightning! That was so cool- did all the warriors come out here to watch? Feeling the atmosphere of tension that clouded the camp and listening to the yowled orders half-muffled by the storm, he quickly deduced that they were here for something important- maybe he could help! All the apprentices were moving things or bringing back prey, and he would be an apprentice soon, so he should be able to help too, right? It wasn't like he would have to go out of camp!
He glanced around the camp, scouting to see which warriors he could talk to. Ashfeather was too intimidating to approach, Eaglestrike was with the leader, and he didn't want to mess them up...Oh! Breezewhisker and Willowpaw weren't that busy. Breezewhisker was funny and wouldn't talk to him like a one-moon-old (he hoped), and Willowpaw was nicer than a lot of cats seemed to think. Without any further deliberation, he dashed up to the two, mud splattering on his paws and underbelly.
"Are you both busy? Can I help? I mean- I won't get in your way!" Not the most elegant of persuasive tactics, but Scorchkit didn't really seem to realize that, eyes shining with earnesty.
Tawnywing had just walked into camp a few moments earlier, a scrawny vole clutched in their jaws as he blinked slowly, looking at his surroundings with mild confusion. The state of things was obviously a surprise for the dreamy cat. It look him a bit to even register Nettlefly's voice, to which he responded telepathically.
"Oh- of course.", still with the tone of someone completely blindsided by the situation- which, of course, they were. StarClan knew how the warrior had managed to overlook a storm with how often his head was in the clouds. Placing the prey carefully in the clearing, he dipped his head to Orchidbloom.
"It's good...-to see you again, I mean." Though his voice was fairly mild, his eyes remained fixed on her for a bit of time. Though they were wide and owlish as ever, they didn't convey whatever emotion he was feeling. Tawnywing didn't know her well, having only been an apprentice when she was exiled, but he had heard the resulting rumors. He headed after Nettlefly, looking around the camp as he did so, though his face was screwed up in concentration.
"Beech and Ivy." He said abruptly. Upon realizing that statement made no sense to anyone but himself, he added, "They're waxy leaves. I've seen them be used for carrying herbs, so they're sturdy...and water slides off of them." He paused again, thinking. "They wouldn't be a replacement for sticks, but they could help.͐ Would that work?"
Larktalon growled faintly as he stared at the rapidly darkening sky. "If leaf-fall is this bad, half the clan will freeze to death in a few moons." He commented, only half joking. His thick fur was already heavy with humidity. Shaking his head to get rid of the forming droplets of water, he padded out of the elder's den. Sleeping through a storm was a monumentally stupid idea. The camp would flood tonight, or he was a twoleg. He could at least help with moving the herb storage or repairing the dens of the younger cats.

|| It did! Gives us a lot to respond to, which is good. ||
» NETTLEFLY
Nettlefly had to admire Tawnywing's thinking. The usage of beech and ivy leaves hadn't crossed his mind, for he knew nothing about plants. Tawnywing was clever. The pale brown tom dipped his head in approval, before he stopped in realization. He lowered his mew to a whisper. "It would," Nettlefly replied. He switched to telepathy, which would perhaps prevent his voice from becoming lost in the wind. "That's a good idea, Tawnywing. Not only would they prevent some of the rainwater from leaking through the dens, they could also keep Nightleaf's herbs dry. However, I would think they'd be found at Treelark, and Robinstar would probably ban us from going there. Too many foxes, something like that. I suppose we could try Songbright to retrieve said leaves. We'd have to ask Robinstar though."
» FLAXTRILL
Flaxtrill respectfully nodded her head in Larktalon's direction before she grasped an assortment of sticks and padded into the elders' den. She heard his comment and stifled back a slight mrrow of amusement, which quickly morphed into displeasure. She agreed with Larktalon, for it was true. The weather was terrible and it looked as if StarClan had abandoned the Clan. They'd never had such awful weather before leaf-bare even started.
"Rufflefur!" Flaxtrill called out to the mottled warrior peering in through the entrance. "You're helping with the nursery. I've got the elders' den. Make yourself useful like I am!" The young warrior was irritated; she knew Rufflefur would soon be off in her own world. Maybe she would strike up a conversation with Larktalon or whoever else was nearby, as fortifying dens was tedious work. Flaxtrill often wondered why they didn't move the camp altogether, for it was bound to flood when heavy rains some.
"How soon do you think the camp will flood, Larktalon?" Flaxtrill asked, making sure she wasn't slipping in extra words. She still respected him as she respected most BloomClan cats, aside from her dusky she cat friend.

Nightleaf :Nightleaf nodded slowly, taking in Duskpaw’s answer. “She’s tough, strong and reliable. She has deputy material.” Nightleaf commented. BREEZEWHISKER jumped to his paws. “Of course! I can help collect some sticks, we can leave now.” Looking around and not feeling offended at all by Willowpaw’s grumpiness, he immediately bounded off towards the treeline as quickly as he could. Being eager to help was all he could do at the moment, his excitement fueling his fast legs as he didn’t even wait for Orchidbloom. The warrior couldn’t help but feel slightly excited that he was actually doing something! Suddenly he stopped in his tracks after he heard a small voice that seemed to be directed at him and Willowpaw. Stopping for a moment and padding back to where he was sitting earlier in camp, Breezewhisker let his eyes rest on Scorchkit calling out from the nursery. With a bit goofy smile he moved over. “Hang on a minute.” He added to Orchidbloom. Hearing what Scorchkit said, he padded over. “Hmm.... Unfrotunately maybe you can’t help me, but I know a job you can do that’s just as fun. Nightleaf and Willowpaw would probably need some help over there. Honestly, all paws need to be on deck to make sure our clan is safe for the bad weather ahead!” Breezewhisker replied cheerily. He gave a quick nod to Scorchkit with glimmering eyes as he gestured to the medicine den before padding over to Orchidbloom.
WILLOWPAW was was tired of talking. She stayed where she was originally, picking up tidbits of conversation but staying silent. There were many offers for her to help or talk, but she made a beeline over to the medicine den and mostly Nightleaf. “You know, Tawnywing made a great suggestion. She said beech and ivy leaves would be great for carrying herbs, as they’re waxy and water slides off of them. I think some cats are going to Songbright to look for them, but in the meantime if anything needs to be sorted or made neater I’m here.” Willowpaw peered out of Nightleaf’s den curiously and saw Breezewhisker talking to Scorchkit. After the young warrior bounded away, she spoke to him quietly. “As long as you don’t get under anyone’s paws, you can help here I suppose...” She grumbled. Little did anyone know, but Willowpaw was a bit kinder to kits than she was to others. With a flick of her tail towards the inside of the den she invited him in. “If that’s alright with you, Nightleaf. I think Scorchkit wants to help with something but Breezewhisker denied him. I let him come in.” Even though it would make for a slightly busy den with the energetic Scorchkit, Willowpaw knew that something would be figured out. He could just play around and observe. She knew that usually kits didn’t like being with herbs but if he wanted to help... so be it. With a little shrug Willowpaw ducked back into the end to face Nightleaf awkwardly.

ORCHIDBLOOM: Although a horrendous downpour was beginning, Orchidbloom could not help but grin a bit as she lay out plans for preparing the camp. Her natural tendency was to lead, to help, and to be back in the clan with such purpose made Orchidbloom feel comfortable, and perhaps it even made her feel content. She was ready to head towards the dark treeline in order to gather strong twigs for the dens when she heard Spottedpaw. “Of course! Would you like to come with Breezewhisker and I to collect some things to strengthen the dens? We’d probably be best helped by some strong sticks.” Orchidbloom gestured her head toward the woods, not attempting to cover up her excitement. Gazing around once more before setting off for the treeline, the brown she-cat looked around camp, taking a sort of tally of the cats she could see, and noticed a number of cats returning from the direction of Breezecreek. That must be the patrol led by Eaglestrike, she remembered, hopefully they chased the foxes far away...
@sapphire646 @negatorri ashfeather DUSKPAW: With one last “thank-you” to Nightleaf, Duskpaw stood from the now-muddy medicine den and prepared to launch himself out. But before he could, he noticed a number of cats coming over to the den. Nettlefly, Willowpaw.... and was that Scorchkit? Eaglestrike nodded, thankful again for the lack of trouble his patrol had encountered, "The foxes seemed to have already fled past Windcreek." he informed Robinstar, "We didn't go any further than that. Our scents leading back to camp should be washed away by this rain though, so we shouldn't have to worry about any stray foxes following us back." he added, though judging by the amount of rain they were getting, he could see that they'd have bigger problems on their hands than a stray fox. Despite the activity he could see going on around camp to reinforce the walls of the dens, it seemed likely that they'd have to temporarily move to a new location if the camp flooded.

( And I just realised that Willowpaw is Nightleaf’s apprentice ) Nightleaf :Nightleaf heard padding footsteps and the scent of Willowpaw. “You came.” Nightleaf muttered, eyeing the mud that had managed to sneak in with distaste. “I need to go to Mintpool to collect some herbs. You can either come with me or wash up the den, sort and protect herbs.” She said, turning away awkwardly. She somehow had to make a bond between herself and Willowpaw, to get rid of the bothersome awkwardness that clung onto the air around them. @negatorri Spottedpaw :Spottedpaw nodded enthusiastically, jumping around like a kit. CHERRYWHISPER || Camp || @sapphire646
Cherrywhisper's eyes widened in shock at the sight of her apprentice barrelling towards. She was still trying to get used to Spottedpaw's enthusiasm and seemingly uncontainable excitement, though she enjoyed the she-cat's positive attitude. She was still surprised that Robinstar had chosen her as mentor in the first place, although it gave her the confidence that perhaps she was a formidable and reliable warrior. She just hoped that she would do well by Spottedpaw and train her to reach her full potential.
Glad for her apprentice finding some way to help, she set off after her, cracking a smile at Spottedpaw's joke. Her clumsiness was sure something that she had to work on, although Cherrywhisper supposed better control would come simply with experience. With the rain coming down hard now, she wouldn't be surprised if the camp ended up flooding, but reinforcing the dens was important to minimise the damage the storm would cause. "Slow down." Cherrywhisper called out to her apprentice telepathically, though whether or not her telepathy was strong enough to reach the she-cat, she wasn't sure. Having seen Spottedpaw slip up in front of the entrance to camp earlier, she didn't want a repeat performance.

WILLOWPAW Willowpaw nodded more awkwardly than she’d like to admit, trying to ignore the mud she had trailed in. “Of course. I’ll come with you to Mintpool, I guess. I need some experience with collecting herbs anyways.” She mumbled with a sideways glance to Scorchkit. “Actually, on second thought... I’ll wrap up some of the herbs and protect them. I could also help clean out the den.” Of course Willowpaw knew if she left to collect herbs, Scorchkit would be quite disappointed as he would have no one to play with. Despite thinking it over again, Willowpaw decided that curious kits were her favourite type of clan member. It wouldn’t be right to let him down. “I’ll get started promptly.” Awkwardness still hung in the air. If her mentor Nightleaf wanted to teach her well, then Willowpaw would obviously have to start being... nice or at least courteous to her. With a shrug she turned to the herb stores and began picking apart some random bunches of unsorted herbs. The rain was starting to set in and just then she noticed Duskpaw swing something probably aimed at Nettlefly. She said nothing. BREEZEWHISKER Breezewhisker saw Spottedpaw and nodded quickly to her, slightly amused by her enthusiasm. He used to be exactly the same... With a little laugh he watched the apprentice barrel straight into her mentor and then racing to Treelark as if she was a hare. “Oh my...” Breezewhisker quickly sprinted after her. “Slow down! Not everyone’s as fast as you, Spottedpaw!” He looked back for a moment st the others to see if they were following. It was nearly impossible that the energetic apprentice wouldn’t slip and fall with the rain coming down this hard, and a flood was inevitable. He hoped everything was being taken care of... Wait. Why was he thinking so much? Breezewhisker shook his head. It was unusual for him to think so much about the clan’s wellbeing. He scrunched up his nose slightly but shook out his pelt that was clogged up with water, continuing on after Spottedpaw.

Scorchkit glanced around at the medicine den, looking at the rows of herbs with some sort of awe. He had rarely been in here, but there was so much stuff! Even if the smell was so overpowering it made his nose feel like it was going to fall off. But that didn't matter! These herbs helped protect the clan, and he would help get them out of the rain safely! His chest swelled with pride.
"Ok! I'll help! You put all the ones that look the same together in the big leaves, right?", he chirped to Willowpaw. His tail twitched in excitement despite the relatively mundane task. Of course, his short attention span would usually mean that he'd be too overwhelmed just looking at all the different herbs, but he was hyped on adrenaline in the situation and at least understood that he was helping the clan, even if he might not have grasped the consequences fully.
Larktalon nodded in greeting at Flaxtrill- he liked the young warrior enough for her energy and commitment, even if he thought she was fairly foolish. "I can at least help with this den." He said, grabbing a bundle of sticks. "Best to not have too many young warriors spending their time on it." He was the clan's only elder right now, after all, and if things were up to him, the elder's den would be finished last. Of course, it might be different if others were there, but the clan was full of younger warriors. Barring the occasional freak accident, nobody would be there for a long time.
At Flaxtrill's question, he turned to look up at the sky. The rain was starting to pick up, and he growled in displeasure. "I've seen worse, but I've seen a lot better. Before sunfall, I'd guess." The camp would take a while to drain, too, and once they got back, they'd all be damp, and sickness would likely occur...
Tawnywing looked surprised at Nettlefly's complement, but he was obviously pleased by the praise, especially coming from a more experienced warrior. He rarely spoke as it was, and as such didn't get noticed for much, so it was a nice occurence despite its rarity.
"Thank you." He said telepathically, words coming a bit more smoothly with the change in communication, "But, should we collect the sticks you mentioned earlier first? After all, I'm not sure if that idea would even work." Well, to be honest, he was confident it would at least help, but modesty was important. Besides, extra supplies would improve the mood, if only slightly. They were already dealing with foxes, flooding, and the oncoming leaf bare. "Whatever you think is best."

» FLAXTRILL
"It's alright!" Flaxtrill chirped in response. "Thanks for helping! I wish it wouldn't flood, but it's going to happen. I can feel it." Tremors ran through her body and her fur blew in the strong and chilly wind. She grabbed a twig and carefully propped it up against the den wall, ever so slightly pushing it in. The pale warrior furrowed her brow in concentration and grabbed another stick with her teeth. She laid it at a slight angle from the other one, overlapping the ends. She did it again and again with the rest of the bundle at her paws. They would need more sticks soon.
» RUFFLEFUR
Rufflefur growled in displeasure. Why couldn't she be out and about, helping save the clan? She was stuck with the task of placing sticks in a wall, and she didn't like it one bit. At least Scorchkit was by the medicine den, leaving the nursery empty. "Empty and ready for me to work in," the mottled warrior snapped under her breath. She huffed and shoved splintery wood into the wall next to the entrance of the den, cursing the stars for her luck. "Can't the apprentices do this? They are apprentices after all. This is an apprentice task."
» ROBINSTAR
Robinstar gripped the sturdy branch in his jaws, and flung it toward the cliff that made the side of the Heart Rush with full force. He carved a line a mouse-length above the water, making sure that it was deep and noticeable. He added a second line just under where the grass grew for good measure. The old techniques for water level monitoring were ephemeral but the cats of BloomClan have yet to come up with a better idea. It worked, for the moment being. He turned to Eaglestrike as he spoke, pleased with the news.
"Good job Eaglestrike," he congratulated. "Those foxes shouldn't be coming back soon. That is some good news about the rain. However, things aren't looking the best. We might shelter for the night at the Sundown Hills, for the ground is higher up and it isn't too far away." He clawed his way up and hauled himself and the branch out of the Heart Rush. The water dripped off his pelt, making him look smaller.
"I almost forgot to mention this," Robinstar added. "Cats of BloomClan are now prohibited from travelling to Treelark or Flightwind. We have yet to find out why those foxes are leaving their territory. Eaglestrike, will you please pass the news? I'm afraid one group is already headed toward Treelark and they may need backup. I will try to inform them but the cats at camp also need to know."

» NETTLEFLY
"No problem," Nettlefly replied, smiling at Tawnywing. "I'm sure it would work. But you're right, the sticks would probably come first. The leaves can be placed over the sticks to make the dens drier. Luckily, both materials can be retrieved from Songbright, and that's where we are headed off to." He then turned to face Duskpaw.
Nettlefly found it difficult to answer Duskpaw's question. He didn't know where the herbs would be carried off to, or in other words where they would settle for the night should the camp flood. He thought of Treelark and the shelter it provided, but he remembered that fox encounters weren't rare. He shivered, recalling the fox attack at Hillpoint. Perhaps Sundown would be the more logical choice, but he couldn't confirm it. "I would put them on the Sundown Hills, but it's really up to Robinstar." He answered slowly, processing his own information. "Let's head over to Songbright and bring back some sticks and leaves."

EAGLESTRIKE || Camp || ͐T͐͐ᴡ͐͐ɪ͐͐ɪ͐ᴀ͐, @negatorri, -bluestorm-
Eaglestrike bowed his head modestly at his leader's praise, before listening intently to his words. Sundown Hills were a good choice; he remembered having to journey there as an apprentice when another storm had caused the flooding of the camp. The cats would have to cross the Heartrush though in order to get there, which would be even more dangerous when the heavy rain caused the water level to rise. They would have to be particularly careful while crossing, and make sure to help their only kit and elder to make their way across.
"Of course; I'll send a message to those who have gone out immediately before alerting those in camp." Eaglestrike replied calmly, though concern ripped through his thoughts. He had seen his sister leave the camp just moments ago, heading after Spottedpaw who he thought had mentioned something about Treelark. He had also seen Breezewhisker follow them out - they must be the group Robinstar was referring to. He knew he was of better use at camp right now, but the thought of Cherrywhisper potentially being in danger made him want to race through the forest to protect her. He didn't, of course, settling to send them a telepathic message as a warning, "Cherrywhisper, Breezewhisker, be careful at Treelark. Robinstar has just prohibited cats from travelling there due to the danger of stray foxes still be around. Seeing as you may already be there though, be on high alert."
He had closed his eyes to concentrate his mind on sending the message to the two separate cats and now opened them once more, just in time to see Orchidbloom about to leave camp, presumably after them. Dipping his head at Robinstar again respectfully, he then quickly bounded over to the she-cat, "Orchidbloom, are you headed to Treelark after the others? Robinstar has prohibited cats from going there due to the danger of foxes still lurking around. I'm not sure if the cats already there have the strength to telepathically send for backup if needed though."

Nightleaf :Nightleaf nodded, eager to escape the awkardness between them. She hurried away, spotting Scorchkit on her way out. His eagerness warming her heart. Kits could be so adorable. Unless they were crying or complaining or making an even bigger mess. Maybe he would make a great medicine cat, with that attitude of his. She thought. "Don't mess anything up." She commented to Scorchkit, hoping he wouldn't run around the medicine den, trampling on precious herbs that would be useful to the clan during leaf-bare. She made her way out of the camp, padding towards Mintpool. Let's hope I make it back to camp by nightfall. She hoped. ghost.Spottedpaw :Spottedpaw ran towards Tree-lark, the wind batting her in the face, but she didn't mind. The familiar trees of Tree-lark running into her line of vision. She squealed happily and ran towards a tree's shade, hoping it would shield her sight from the gray storm clouds. "I'll be over here!" Spottedpaw called towards Cherrywhisper, using her tail to point ahead. Her telepathy ability was getting weaker, so had to speak aloud. Why am I so bad at it? Is it beacause I don't have Bloomclan blood? She thought, as she padded towards a pile of sticks that were scattered around. ashfeather
