CHERRYWHISPER || Treelark || @sapphire646, @negatorri
Cherrywhisper ran quickly after Spottedpaw, not wanting her apprentice to run into any trouble. Her paws bounced lightly over the ground, her smaller frame meaning that less wind blew against her - but also that the wind felt stronger against her weaker body. Just as she approached Treelark, she heard her brother's voice echoing in her head. 'Be on high alert,' he had said, warning them of stray foxes that may be lurking in the area. She felt bad for having dashed out of camp so quickly without consulting Robinstar, knowing how worried Eaglestrike must be for her safety right now. But she wasn't only responsible for herself anymore; she had an apprentice that she needed to protect, and it wasn't as if she could have let Spottedpaw come out in the storm alone, especially after the fox attack.
"Spottedpaw," she called out, knowing how weak her telepathy was, "Stay close to me; there may be stray foxes about." She padded closer to the young she-cat, afraid the wind would snatch her words away and that she wouldn't be able to hear her. Thankfully there were many sticks and branches lying about, perfect for reinforcing the camp walls. But she stayed on high alert, her eyes constantly scanning the area and her ears pricked for any signs. The wind made it harder to detect any scents, something that worried her more than anything, so she tried to make up for it with her other senses. Instinctively blocking out everything around her, able to use the ability without even thinking now, she concentrated solely on searching for foxes.
Satisfied that there weren't any near them - for now at least - she stopped using her ability, instead focusing on her apprentice, "I appreciate your enthusiasm Spottedpaw, but you can't just run off like that in a storm like this - especially when a patrol of cats have just been attacked by foxes." she scolded, though her tone wasn't too harsh; Cherrywhisper had never been the cat to be particularly hard on others, she felt too bad doing so. She knew Spottedpaw had to learn a bit more restraint though, meaning she had to be a bit tougher on her. A noise nearby alerted her to something else's presence, but looking up, she saw it was only Breezewhisker. She waved him over to them with her tail, trying to capture his attention in the storm, figuring it would be better for them to stay close to each other.

(Hi guys, I’m sorry for such a short notice. I feel that I could be a burden to this RP in the future and that I need to focus on my life right now, so unfortunately I think that I might pull out of the forums for now. Best of luck to you all, I hope this clan goes well!)

» ROBINSTAR
"Thank you Eaglestrike," Robinstar called after him before turning to face his branch. It could be put to good use, propping the walls at the camp. However, it had to first be dragged out. The torrential downpour would soon prove to be a problem, as it caused the bark to slip from his grip. Grunting, he dragged the branch behind him into the camp. It landed with a thud in front of the Leader's Tree, and he rolled his eyes with displeasure. He brought the branch to the apprentices den, seeing as the mud was pooling around the entrance.
"Hello Fogpaw," he greeted. "You're doing a great job. I've brought a branch over. I thought it might help keep the den walls up." He pointed at his branch with his tail.

» NETTLEFLY
Nettlefly led the way out of camp, making sure to walk around the mud puddles already forming in the damp grass. He motioned for Duskpaw and Tawnywing to follow. All of a sudden, he remembered. Fox-dung! I was supposed to ask Robinstar! He pondered the situation, not wanting trouble. He decided that the best thing to do would be tell him, telepathically. They needed sticks after all, there wasn't too much to worry about. "Robinstar, Tawnywing, Duskpaw, and I are heading over to Songbright for twigs and leaves. We will try to stay safe." Shaking his head, he continued on.
"Be careful at the Heart Rush and RIverblossom crossing," he warned the patrol. "Water levels are rising. We know how to swim, but let's avoid getting swept off our paws."

Spottedpaw :"Don't worry! I'll be careful!" Spottedpaw reassured her worried mentor, as she grabbed a couple of sticks before searching some more in the dark forest. It is sorta scary here... She shivered at the thought of a hundred pair of blood-hungry fox eyes staring down on her in the darkness. I shouldn't be scared! I have Cherrywhisper with me! She tried to calm herself down, picking up a few more sticks. Actually, I should stay closer to her. She concluded, racing back to Cherrywhisper in an instant. "Sorry for running off like that..." She said, hoping the warrior wouldn't sense her fear. ashfeather

DUSKPAW: Duskpaw enthusiastically followed his mentor, and every step that he took towards Songbright shook his soaked pelt. He didn’t mind the water, though, and it felt refreshing more than anything else. He listened to Nettlefly’s instructions about the water levels carefully. He couldn’t afford to risk anything else given his current medical situation. As the patrol approached the crossing of the Heart Rush and Riverblossom, Duskpaw noticed a huge amount of water that flowed with force unlike any he’d seen. He telepathically messaged his clanmates. “Woah,” he told Tawnywing and Nettlefly. “How are we getting across that?” ͐T͐͐ᴡ͐͐ɪ͐͐ɪ͐ᴀ͐ ghost.ORCHIDBLOOM: Orchidbloom heard the familiar voice of Eaglestrike and turned to talk to him. “No, but thank you for the warning. I’m going to stay around camp and try to gather what I can while still being able to watch over whoever’s here.” Orchidbloom nodded to her warrior clanmate and dipped her head, off to look for more sticks and twigs. Grueling work in such bad weather, but entirely necessary at that. Then, Orchidbloom felt a strange yearning, and, unable to place why she felt it, gave in. She reached Robinstar telepathically: “Robinstar.” She had almost no idea why she had sought this connection, and quickly tried to recover. “How are the water levels? Should we be concerned at camp?” (Will fix italics later.) ͐T͐͐ᴡ͐͐ɪ͐͐ɪ͐ᴀ͐ ashfeather

CHERRYWHISPER || Treelark || @sapphire646
Cherrywhisper let out a small sigh as Spottedpaw ventured further into the forest, though was relieved when she returned safely again. The apprentice didn't seem to have any fear sometimes - either that, or she hadn't learnt to think before she acted. But that was excusable; many apprentices tended to have a lot of built up excitement when they first started training, but with time and experience came maturity. Cherrywhisper just hoped she'd do good by her apprentice and train her well.
"That's okay, but just try not to do it again. It can be dangerous to go out alone, especially seeing as you're still an apprentice." Cherrywhisper replied calmly, giving her a small smile. Being out here in the storm, however, gave her the creeps, especially seeing as it was just the two of them. She wanted to get back to camp as soon as possible, particularly given Eaglestrike's warning, and so helped her apprentice to gather sticks as quickly as possible. When they had as many as they could possible carry, she turned to Spottedpaw. "Now let's grab these sticks and get out of here; Treelark doesn't seem so inviting in this storm."
EAGLESTRIKE || Camp || -bluestorm-
Eaglestrike bowed his head respectfully in response, before turning away and surveying the camp for anything that he could help with. Despite her only having just been accepted back into the camp, he enjoyed Orchidbloom's authoritative presence; she was a real asset to the clan, and he was glad she was back. He couldn't blame her for having initially asked as the position as deputy - she suited it and would be a fine second-in-command to Robinstar.

Fogpaw flinched when she heard the muffled pawsteps of another cat approaching, expecting a harsh word from her mentor about how she was doing her job wrong. It was hard to say whether or not she was more or less frightened when she turned to see Robinstar.
"Thank you." She mumbled in her usual monotone, dipping her head. Her blank, aversive nature was particularly bad at displaying gratitude (and sympathy, but that was besides the point), so she may have come off as rude. If she could emote more than a slight widening of her eyes, she would have grimaced at the sight of the camp branch. Though she wasn't that much smaller than Robinstar, she wasn't anywhere near physically strong enough to lift up the branch, or so she automatically assumed. Deciding that trying and failing would be better than just standing there, she gripped the more narrow end of the branch with her teeth, attempting to prop it up.
Tawnywing wasn't overly concerned with the oncoming flood in the first place, as he experienced it in the same detached way he dealt with most of reality. Even swimming through the water wasn't anywhere near nerve-wracking for him, as he found the sensation and movement more calming than anything. Truly, if nobody had been anxious, he'd probably have just been sitting out in the rain.
What did give him pause, however, was the sound of rushing water, immediately followed by the sight of overflowing water. His ears flattened against his skull as the spray drenched his face. At the questioning of Duskpaw, he narrowed his eyes in faint concentration. "It wouldn't do us any good to try and swim through that, naturally... we could look for a way- a way around, but we shouldn't waste time for too much- too much time. Nettlefly, what do you think?"
Scorchkit's cheerful expression faltered at the obvious exasperation in Nightleaf's tone. He wasn't going to mess things up for the clan! Don't worry, she's just protective of her herbs. She has to keep the whole clan healthy herself. That would scare me, too! She'd be this nervous about any cat helping with the medicine supplies, not just me. Reassured by this internal monologue, or possibly just deluding himself, the ginger and gray tom started scooping the herbs out of the lowest shelves into the dock leaves. Though he was taking out a fair amount of dirt along with the leaves, he was paying more attention than he usually could to the task. Though, he still occasionally paused to stare around the cave at the different items.

Spottedpaw :Spottedpaw nodded eagerly. "Y-yes, let's go!" Spottedpaw agreed telepathically, seeing as her mouth was full of sticks and leaves. I didn't get to practice, but anything to get away from here... She thought, padding away from the dark forest just to see the dark grey sky again. ashfeather

[ Hey Bloss, welcome to the clan! I look forward to rping with you^^ ] CHERRYWHISPER || Treelark || @sapphire646
Collecting up all the sticks she could carry in her mouth, Cherrywhisper led her apprentice out of the woods, giving a small flick of her tail to indicate to Spottedpaw to stick close by. The last thing they wanted in this storm was to be somehow separated, particularly given that neither of their telepathy was all that strong. The sharp points of the sticks and leaves that clung on to them felt awkward in her mouth, and she quickened her pace to reach camp faster. Soon approaching the Larkstream, she slowed her pace gradually.
"Be careful when crossing the river. We should still be able to cross over using the stepping stones over there," Cherrywhisper said telepathically to her apprentice, gesturing to the stepping stones with her tail, "The water level has risen though and the rain will mean the stones will be slippery, so be careful and take your time." she added, knowing how eager Spottedpaw could be and not wanting her to rush across the river without considering the risks. She slowly padded up to the river's edge, making sure Spottedpaw was close behind her, before she started to leap from stone to stone. They were lucky the stones were still above the water level, though she could feel how slippery they were under her paws.

|| Okay, cool. I'm not that familiar with the landmarks myself because there are so many of them, so I always have the map open in a new tab. By the way the landmark names are inspired by Tailchaser's Song lmao. That could work. I believe Nightleaf probably goes to the Lakepond often as it is usually herb plentiful, but I'm not sure who would be the most logical choice. ||

|| A single cat might just swim there out of curiousness and perhaps because they thought Nightleaf needed more herbs. That's the scenario I could think of. The flood's pretty bad, but the Lakepond is west from downstream Riverblossom so a cat could easily end up there. ||
|| Hey ashfeather , is Cloudheart still at the Larkstream? Just wondering. ||
» NETTLEFLY
Nettlefly took one glance at the swollen river and he furrowed his brow. "That doesn't look too good," he commented. "I don't think we can cross without being swept away. It's not worth the risk. Speaking of the twigs, let's just gather whatever's laying on the ground and return to camp." He bent down and carefully wedged a twig between his teeth. Turning around, he padded back the way he came. He pointed in the direction of camp with his tail, hoping the others would follow. In the misty, stormy weather, it would be too easy to become lost in one's own territory. His gaze flickered back and forth, from river to mud to wet grass.
» ROBINSTAR
"No problem." Robinstar dipped his head in approval, before moving to assist Fogpaw with the branch. He held on to the thicker base with his paws, his claws digging into the back to prevent it from slipping. He decided at that point that blocking his mind would be more of a hindrance, for urgent news might be delayed. Concentrating on his strength, he started to move it towards the den wall. The slippery mud was not helping in the slightest. Before long, he felt a presence at the back of his mind. It was Orchidbloom.
"Water levels are still rising," he responded with clear concern. "The camp appears to be starting to flood. It won't be long before both the Heart Rush and the Larkstream run their banks. Evacuation is likely."
