"Fire and I don't exactly get along..." Grey Owl replied, the burn scar on his face faintly visible. "I guess they didn't include any manners in your training huh Blaze?" He chuckled a bit. Gudrun circled around above their heads a few more times before she landed on his shoulder again.

"Didn't need it. And by the looks of it, we aren't about to get along either," Blaze replied. Frostbite, looking annoyed, stepped in so that he stood between the two.
"Anyways," Frostbite said, trying to ease the mood. "Where are you from? You mentioned how you came from out of town."

Second Sight (Second) || Nicolai Bastien (True name, Neku) || Hero Neku would be pretty hard to spot in the crowd if it weren't for his markings. He's 6"5', slight and it looks like he has barely any muscle at all. This isn't really the case, he is muscled but he tries to hide it with baggy shirts and skinny jeans. He has floppy black hair and wide blue eyes, and a mixture of markings from his home planet and tattoos, so it's difficult to figure out what he was born with and what he's added on over the years. His true markings, though, are at each of the Chakra points, each of them having an eye etched on with a peculiar cage-like design over them, save the one on his forehead and on his throat. He usually wears his hair long and a scarf to hide these two, because they constantly are moving around and watching everything and everyone- so definitely not tattoos. The rest of the designs on his body are, though, like the designs on each of those chakra places, along with his arms and plenty of other places. He was told once his body was a temple, and back on his home planet temples were adorned with paintings, so that's exactly what he did to himself. Plus he just loves the ink. He wears long sleeves to hide these, though, in professional settings. Neku is usually rather quiet and shy, still unsure of himself in this new world (quite literally). He prefers to people watch, and is rather awkward at first but once he warms up to you he's pretty friendly and can be funny at times. He has a light, musical accent that only comes out when he's incredibly tired. His hero form, Second, uses his abilities of his third eye to catch villains "in the act". He has the ability to see what is around him, up to four city blocks away he has that kind of "Big Brother sight", so he can easily patrol in one area without even moving. He has weak telekinetic powers, just enough to help defend himself against villains when he's fighting. He's an p and coming hero, not very well known quite yet and more of a defensive player. It would be best if he worked with someone else who fought offensively, always too scared to actually "let himself go". He'd be better at telekinesis if he actually practiced, but he never really does.He does have the tendency to be possessed by his alter ego, the mixture of his third eye and throat eye. This ego is kind of a... anti hero? Perhaps the embodiment of chaotic neutral, causing trouble and really only doing anything that they find will be in their best interests. More often than not this means that they side with the villains. Whenever Neku gets too scared or overly upset this other form, Keru, takes over. He is from another planet, where the chakras are connected to their powers, and it's expected only one eye is opened, and sometimes two. It wasn't bad that he had two eyes, actually that is rather common in his family (These "eyes" or chakras, are very genetically based), unfortunately Keru is also an alter ego that had a penchant for trouble (Okat. Keru had broken way too many big laws) and his planets equivalent of monks decided he was too much to handle and sent him to earth, assuming that its aggressive climate (theres so much oxygen here, it's like everyones slowly killing themselves!) and strange, poisonous creatures and plants would kill him quickly. But he didn't, and the child who grew up as a monk had to figure out what to do in such a different environment. He ended up in foster care since he was ten in human years, but once he was old enough he left with his adopted little sister, Layla. He finally made it to this city, lives in the sketchier part of town, which was what got him so involved with the hero business, in a two bedroom, two bath apartment. He wears a loose fitting dark blue outfit that almost looks like a monks robe if it weren't for the pant legs, hiding again most of his most distinguishable marks. He goes to the local college for Library sciences and also has a pet cat called Milo. Isn't straight at all. <Sweetclover1>

"What, a hero without manners? Is it the telepathy that bothers you?" Enoch frowned a bit at Blaze then turned back to Frostbite when he stepped between them. "Small region in South-West Germany. Not a lot of crime there, maybe only one villain."

"Really? That's cool," Frostbite replied enthusiastically. "Both of us were born and raised in this city, and have family here. Unfortunately, there's enough crime that every hero is welcomed." Frostbite didn't mention the fact that both heroes travelled a lot at some point in their life, mainly because it had a lot to do with their pasts and families, which he knew Blaze didn't talk about.

"Guess I'm not going to be able to make any good impression on your partner there. I hope she doesn't mind though if I join you going back to the Tower. I'm not sure if anyone from my family shared any telepathic powers, I don't know much about my family's history. Must've been nice though, your parents and siblings could've helped you learn to control them." He went on. Gudrun went back to her still posture on his shoulder, watching Frostbite.

Frostbite nodded. "I was born with my abilities. Passed down from my dad's side, so my family wasn't surprised that I had powers. Some of my siblings do too. In fact, I was on the hero log before I fully developed my powers. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if I was on it when I was still in the womb," He replied.

"My... I'd guess you'd say they're adoptive parents... just regular people I had to hide my powers from them for years, I could never talk to them like this but I was still practicing how to read minds long before I told them about it. I think it's something I've also had since birth. Not sure whether or not my real parents had it." Enoch scratched Gudrun's belly and she closed her eyes slowly in a happy expression.

"That's too bad," Frostbite told him. "Luckily you don't have to hide it much anymore. The only thing that hiding powers does here is hide your identity, which protects friends and family." Blaze stayed quietly beside them, now tuning out their conversation with the use of headphones and music.

"I'm pretty open with my identity, and I won't have any family here that I'd be worried about protecting. My real name is Enoch." He admitted. He held out Gudrun on his arm out to Frostbite. "You can pet her if you want, her feathers are very soft."

"Nice to meet you, again," Frostbite said. With Enoch's permission, he reached out and pet the owl, fascinated by how it was true, the owl was soft. "Sorry, again, for my partner here almost setting her on fire," He said.

Gudrun nudged at Frostbite's hand curiously with her beak, closing her eyes happily when he pet her. "I think she'd be quick enough to get away, I'm mostly the one worried about fire. If I did get a partner I wonder what kind of powers they would have..." He replied. "How far is it to the Tower?"

"Not far," Frostbite replied. "See that really tall spiraling building? That's the Twisted Tower." He pointed up to where the large building was. It looked like a normal building, but in truth it was a heavily defended safe zone for heroes.

"Wow...well it's very tall." Enoch nodded. "Is that the tallest building in the city?" He asked, lowering his arm and then swinging it up to get Gudrun to fly. She flew towards the tower to get a closer look.

Blade handed the paperwork to one of the leaders before leaving the office. He had just finished writing the report about the team he had to lead earlier in the week, and it was finally time for a break. He was ready to head back to his apartment, maybe even the gym. With a sigh, he leaned against the elevator's side, waiting for it to ding at the second lower level, where he would be able to get his motorcycle and head out.

"Yeah," Frostbite replied. "And it's funded by most of the larger companies with surprisingly little complaints. A lot of business owners owe the heroes their lives and the life of their company, not to mention some would rather stay on our good side."

"Like the buildings you wrecked back there. Where you trying to stop a villain when that happened?" Enoch asked. "I wouldn't expect many companies or prominent people in the city to be against heroes anyway unless they were engaging in some less than legal business practices."

"Yeah, there was a villain. Happened to get on Blaze's bad side, but we were only responsible for one building getting it's side blown out. The rest of it was mainly him," Frostbite replied. "As for the companies, there are quite a few that should be looked into. Unfortunately, that's how business tends to go." As the son of a man who ran one of the richest companies in the city, Frostbite knew that many companies have underground dealings that they would rather not show.

"What was the villain trying to do when you stopped him?" Enocha asked. "Do the villains here have their own base or do they all work independantly?" He went on. Enoch didn't know much about businesses or companies.

"For all we know, they work separately, only teaming up if they have use for each other. The one we fought was only looking to cause chaos, show off," Frostbite informed.

"Do they have powers like we do? Have you ever heard of a hero turning villainous?" Enoch asked. He wanted to know more and learn about the city quickly if he was going to live there and work as one of the heroes. The only villain from his home didn't have any powers but was an excellent fighter and influential enough to get away with some pretty bad things.

"Yeah, some of them have powers or abilities," Frostbite told him. He had to pause before he answered the next question. "I, actually, have. My, uh, mentor had a friend. Went dark after they couldn't save a child. Made the wrong choice in the wrong moment, but sometimes, that's all it takes." He shrugged. "I guess it's kinda to be expected. We may be heroes, but with so much pressure, mistakes will be made, and there is only so much we can stand. We are only human, even if we have powers."

"I understand people could take it hard on themselves if they fail but I don't see how that would lead to them wanting to cause harm to people if the whole reason they stopped being a hero is because they couldn't prevent harm to someone. Becoming a villain seems counter-intuitive or taking it too far. If a hero can't handle the responsibilities more likely they'd just retire instead of turning evil." Enoch rambled a bit.

Frostbite sighed. "After they realized they failed more than they succeeded, they left. But one wrong choice could cause a domino effect to many more." He looked over at Enoch. "After all, no one is born evil. And for a hero, realizing you did wrong instead of right and caused a death could be enough to send the world crashing around you."
|

"But if you didn't want to cause the death to begin with, and failed to stop it, why would that suddenly turn someone to become evil who consciously causes more deaths. It doesn't make sense." Enoch said.

"Because it wasn't sudden," Frostbite replied. "Nothing like that is. I don't know all the details, all I know is that the mission they failed was simply the start to their fall, and after that they were constantly stuck between choosing the better of two evils. And now they are in prison."

"Did one of their old hero friends have to put them in prison?" Enoch asked, stopping when they got to the entrance of the Twisted Tower. Gudrun flew back towards them and circled above them a few times.
