Hey! Yeah, ‘course we could - any particular ideas in mind?)

Okay, I’d love to hear about this character It might make it easier to figure out what setting we’re gonna have (like ancient Hogwarts or Voldemort’s Hogwarts or Harry Potter’s Hogwarts of the modern Hogwarts) and possibly even a plot)

Ooh nice that sounds interesting. Okay so we’re definitely thinking more modern I think. We could either go with Voldemort’s time and she’s a Pureblood so Tom Riddle is trying to ‘recruit’ her for his Death Eaters, pull her into dark magic, and maybe my character’s a half-blood or something who’s trying to stop her from getting involved with shady stuff. Maybe like it’s around the first opening of the Chamber of Secrets.

Or we could go even more modern, so like around the time of Harry’s children going to Hogwarts. I don’t know what plot we’d do for that, but...)

I’m kind of thinking the 1943 setting with Voldemort and the Chamber of Secrets.

Okay what gender pairing do you want? Doesn’t have to involve romance, we’ll see where if takes us but I don’t think it’s necessary in this plot tp be honest. Also, would it be easier if my charrie was also a Slytherin?)

Fair enough. I’m sort of feeling a Ravenclaw girl because I feel like it’s easier for someone outside of Slytherin house to see what Tom Riddle’s doing and all of that stuff, cos he was a pretty charming kid so yeah. And also i’m just better at rping girls XD

I think we can sort of rp him between us, as needed? Your thoughts?!

Okay so I’m thinking near the start of the school year, January 1943. Maybe Lissa is just starting to settle in and stuff but weird things are happening at Hogwarts. Tom Riddle’s opening the Chamber of Secrets and basically bad stuff is starting to happen. So I’m guessing we just start with the meeting of Lissa and my girl, who I’ll come up with a name for XD Maybe my charrie sees Tom Riddle is trying to use his charisma to befriend Lissa and my girl offers a friendly warning about him, that she thinks he’s not all he seems.

Also, how old are we gonna make these characters? 1943 was Voldemort’s last year at Hogwarts I think so I reckon we can make them about a year younger maybe? Unless you want them to be the same age as Tom)

(Yeah that all sounds good to me. So we have a couple of sixteen-year-olds.

Shall we start or is there anything else to sort out?)

(I’m gonna introduce Tom now and in a bit he’ll come over and have his little chat with Lissa)

Ophelia Fieldwake, a sixteen-year-old Ravenclaw student, watched as a Slytherin girl of around the same age took a seat beside her.

The girl could see the other Ravenclaws tensing up a little but she didn’t react, brushing a lock of inky dark hair behind her ear, focussing blue-grey eyes on her book.

She wasn’t the biggest fan of Slytherins, since she was a half-blood and Slytherins didn’t take kindly to non-pureblood witches. One Slytherin in particular.

At the thought of this student, Ophelia’s eyes lifted to look at him, holding court at the Slytherin table. Tom Riddle. Pale with dark hair, a prefect badge glinting on his robes. His eyes met Ophelia’s for a moment, narrowing imperceptibly, his nose wrinkling in distaste. It was like he could smell her impure blood from here.

She looked back down at her work.

“Oh, yeah, sure. So, Snargaluff pods, huh? Yeah, they’re important to harvest quickly because they’re best fresh. The pods are very useful but really difficult to harvest without hurting yourself. What you need to do is...”

Ophelia was beginning to explain the best tactic for harvesting the plants when a cool voice spoke, one that made Ophelia’s skin crawl.

“You can be quiet now, Fieldwake. For once.”

Tom Riddle was standig behind them, looking between Ophelia and Lissa. The dark-haired girl had fallen silent, but Tom most certainly had not.

“Now, what’s a Slytherin doing sitting here, consorting with the rabble?”

Ophelia opened her mouth as if to say something but Riddle held up a single hand to silence her.

“What’s your blood status? Surely if you’re a Slytherin you must be a pureblood. Even if you’re not you have no need to associate with Fieldwake.”

“Hey, shut up!” Ophelia said angrily “Stop it!”

“I think you’ll find that mudbloods shouldn’t be allowed to talk to purebloods like that. And disrespecting a prefect. So I think I’ll take five points from Ravenclaw for insolence and another five because I don’t like Fieldwake.”

At Lissa’s brave insults, the corner of Riddle’s mouth quirked upwards into a smirk. He began to soeak, indicating a few boys sitting on the Slytherin table. Lestrange. Avery.
Among others. His little gang.

“You’re brave, I’ll give you that. My friends could use someone like you. We’re always looking for gutsy purebloods to join us. Trust me, we’re the people who are goong to make changes in this world. You’ll regret it if you don’t join us. Please do feel free to come and join the elite off this school, whenever you get bored of this lot.”

Ophelia stood up angrily at this point, and was surprised to see a few nearby Ravenclaws standing too. They clearly weren’t happy with Riddle’s behaviour.

“You heard her, Riddle. Go. Away.” Ophelia snarled “You’re not wanted here.”

Tom’s smile grew even wider.

“Yes, I know you’ve got guts too. Pity your bravery’s wasted on a mudblood. Don’t worry, we’ll let you know if there’s a vacancy for a half-blood in our group. Well, bye for now, ladies.”

It seemed that, between them, Ophelia and Lissa had intimidated Tom Riddle on some level. Enough of one for him to want Lissa in his group and to leave the two of them alone.

Ophelia sat back down, composing herself again.

“I’m sorry, ignore him. My name’s Ophelia Fieldwake. You were saying you were new?”

“Ah, interesting,” Ophelia smiled “Yeah, pay Tom Riddle no heed. Just be careful not to join his little gang. As rude as he just was, he can be rather charming and...persuasive. He always just gave me a bad feeling, like there’s something wrong with him. Apart from being a bully, of course. And what with the stuff that’s been happening recently... One needs to be extra careful.”

There had been a couple of recent incidents in the school. Children were being Petrified and nobody could say what the cause was quite at the moment. But the whole situation was making Ophelia uneasy. She just didn’t yet have enough information to investiage what was going at the moment. But she was quite certain of one thing, and one thing only. Ophelia could feel it, like the magical part of her was calling out to het, crying out for her attention.

Something dark was happening in Hogwarts.
