Nah, there’s just this thread in otd about homeschooling, and so many people who clearly don’t understand it, keep low key bad mouthing it, and I, a homeschooler, keep trying to educate them on what homeschooling is actually like, and it’s not working and I’m beginning to get frustrated.

[[ Watching OTD for a majority of my day on here is painful, it's like I'm poking myself with a sharp pencil.
I was in and out of homeschool for 3 to 5 years. I actually didn't mind it, it fit my situation as best as possible because being in public school made things very hard for me.
In the meantime, I'm here, flipping tabs and waiting for the topic to blow up.

OTD gives me a headache, I dunno how you as a mod can deal with it.
Low key hoping the topic just gets dropped though, cause I’m getting sick of defending homeschooling, but like, I also kinda have to, I only debate about certain things, and homeschooling is one of them. Can’t stand it when people say its wrong without even knowing much about it.
Oh true, imagine the power that family would have, with Alder as the leader, Rowan as the deputy, and Lily on her way to becoming a medicine cat. It would be like the newest arc of ThunderClan. (seriously, all the cats in high positions in that clan are part of a family, share the limelight people, come on.)

i rlly hate OTD because of how it ended up being in the old forums. everyone was so petty and salty about everything, and no one can accept others opinions smh.
tbh i don't want it to end up being like the books were blood matters as to who is in the leadership positions.
So it'll probably be bad enough that Lily is made meddie with rowan as deputy but it'll work out.
so alder might not be a good kitty for it, but we'll keep her as a nomination. |

have they noticed that "depth of education" isn't even used in public schools?? Have they seen how schools work now a days?? Trying to "prepare you for college" when they aren't even CLOSE to doing so?
I feel like being homeschooled would be a much better option than a public school (in my opinion) considering you could get taught more VALUABLE information, (such as adulting, unlike what i'm learning in school.)
oh god tha t probably made no sense but seriously.
i'm pretty sure your education is far more "in depth" as they would put it, than my education is.
public schools are lacking severely. Trust me on that one. |

That’s a point I’m kinda trying to make, I know a lot of public schoolers, and I’m surprised by how little they know? (No offensive to any public schoolers) and then I get told that because I’m homeschooled, my education is lesser than that and I’m like??? How??? I don’t see it.
Anyways, now I’m just really drained and not in the mood to debate.

And this is actually something I’m pretty sure I know more about than a lot of people there, so it’s extra frustrating. I’d stop, but this is on that small list of things I actually will get involved in with the forums because sometimes OTD needs to hear a different opinion than what most people there shove down everyone else’s throats. Ooh boy, I don’t have many nice thoughts about that place anymore...
Anyways, sorry about that stuff, I just kinda needed to vent for a second.

Well thanks, its good to know. Honestly, you guys and then a roleplay family of sorts I’m in in OTRP are my honest to goodness favorite people on here. (Plus a few that aren’t in either roleplay) it makes me glad that I decided to give fanclans a try again, and to start with this one.
