"Okay, how about we switch? You take Jack and I take Ash for a week. Then when that week is up, Jack goes home and I stay with you guys and Ash can go wherever she wants?" Sophia asked with a small laugh. Though it had started with her complaints about Jack and his Dad jokes, she was beginning to enjoy this conversation. Plus it wasn't about all the stupid Mia stuff. "Aw, I'm sure you have friends," Sophia began. "I'm your friend, right?" she asked, though she knew she wasn't an option for dating her cousin. That'd just be messed up and definitely bring disappointment and disapproval from her family. "And Drake sounds fine, but then Mia would still be around Mason..." she said. Who knows? Mia could even be smart enough then to use Drake as a cover while she actually dated Mason. "Hopefully. You know, I was excited when she started talking to Mason and then telling me about it, but you really had my back by warning me about him. Thanks, Jace," she said, giving him a small smile. It all stressed her out, but at least she had some kind of idea of what to expect if Mia actually went through with this Mason thing. *** Mia shrugged. Again, she didn't want to push Mason. She had never been one to abandon her friends and she hoped Mason could be considered a friend. After all, she didn't have very many friends. It helped that he didn't go to school anymore. "Did you go to this school in middle school?" Mia asked. She didn't keep an he on everyone and couldn't tell when Mason had come to their school, but she believed it was after middle school. Maybe that's why she felt more comfortable around him. He wasn't there for the incident. "Tasted? I've done more than that," she said with a shrug. "Now, I'm not the kind to go drinking at parties or drink until I pass out, but Jack usually gets some stuff through a friend of his and we just clear any alcohol out of the fridge before parents come to visit." She shrugged again. "You believe me?" "Probably. Hopefully they've been actually talking to each other and not just about us," she said. She glanced at her cousin and the boy in the restaurant. "You know, I'm kind of surprised Sophia never went after you. I mean, Jace is great and all, but she's always been into guys more like you." Except for that one nerdy artist. Maybe Sophia was ready to do something good for herself for a change. "Sounds like a deal." Jace pulled out his phone, all too excited for this whole ordeal, and sent Ash a text explaining that she would be going to stay with Mia and Sophia for a week. "Uhh... how do you guys feel about ferrets?" He asked as he remembered stupid Jeffrey, the ancient ferret that should be dead by now. Ash would refuse to leave if it meant that Jeffrey would have to stay home. She would never trust Jace to take care of him because Jace was about to feed the thing meaty ice cream and put little slippers on him. "I mean, I guess if you want to be considered my friend." Jace smiled at her, feeling a little happy at the idea that Sophia considered them friends. This was great! "Very true, so I guess I'm out and can't help you find a nice boy for Mia." He shrugged helplessly. "How about you not worry until they potentially start getting more serious and just let her figure things out for herself? Maybe she won't go for him." "I can't believe you didn't know about Mason and his... reputation." He had been under the impression that everybody just naturally panicked if they found out about Mason going after a loved family member or sister.'' -- Mason shook his head. "Transferred from East Grove when I was a freshman. It sucked trying to start school here when I had that kind of history." He snorted and shook his head. His life hadn't been much better there. Although his family never moved houses (they had always lived in Westbrook, but he attended East Grove), his mother's life went downhill when Mason turned about thirteen. To the point that Drake and Mason were missing weeks of school because they had no way to get there, so Mason had transferred them with a little help from his mother. Now, they walked to school... which was absolutely horrible because it was not a short walk. "No reason to not believe you at the moment." Mason shrugged. "But I will say that I'm rather surprised that Jack would let you drink. Or that you would want to." "I bet about 99% of it is about us." He laughed and looked away from the restaurant and up towards the sky. It was a beautiful day out. "I don't know why she never did. She's not exactly my type, though. Never would've worked out." He sighed and looked back at Mia. "I need to get going. It's late Sunday night and I have some stuff I need to attend to before tomorrow."

((Oh my gosh, yes. XD Kris is like the little angel on one shoulder. And I could see Drake being the little devil. Jordan-- Let's do something fun and dangerous! Kris-- Think about the consequences. Drake-- Oh my gosh, yes! I have a ton of ideas! Kris-- But make sure it's legal and no gets hurt! Drake-- Oh, there's no fun in th- Oh look! A butterfly!
I'm going to this Rally thing they have Fridays. XD She said she won't be there, but other members will be there who can talk to me about the club and tell me about the different venues. o.o Kind of want an English Shepherd and the way that I want to raise it (such as not spaying it until 2+ years of age for health reasons) would make it impossible to show through the AKC, so I would need to get familiar with the UKC. XD Which sounds like they can help me with? I already like the lady a lot. ^.^))

((A constant war. XD
I think I like the UKC a little better. o.e Like, I love the AKC, but I know a lot of breeders get mad when their breed gets accepted into the AKC because the conformation breeders end up breeding for looks and losing the working ability of their breeds. But the UKC is like "conformation needs looks AND skills." And the UKC added in a rule so if you choose not to dock, say, an Aussie, conformation judges can't knock off points. XD Which I like because choices! Plus the UKC's headquarters are less than an hour from where I live. XD))

Yeah we've never really been into conformation simply because of the lack of actual skill and work. And also that's why I like the German lines better than American lines XD)

((The constant sighing... XD
I swear, American versions of breeds. XD Other countries make fun of them. Like the Labrador. Oh my gosh, a well-bred field Lab is so freaking gorgeous. I know Border Collie breeders were absolutely livid and a lot of the serious breeders refuse to register their pups with the AKC and only go through the ABCA. XD It's worrisome when breeders beg the AKC not to accept their breeds. XD))

But also American dogs aren't that bad. I mean one of mine is American and he's honestly one of the best dogs I've ever met)

)I know absolutely nothing about guys or dating so...........) "That's what you love about me," Arlo said. Most of the other diners had turned back to their food and conversation, leaving the two of them alone with the waiter. He was the one they had to be careful with in case he was scrutinizing them. "Ah, yes, our wedding will be lovely. My sister's been dying to meet you," he said with a grin. "She was excited when I told her about my plans today." After talking to Keilana, he turned to the waiter. "No thank you. I'm stuffed. Everything here was wonderful though," he said. He then stood there a bit awkwardly. We're the just supposed to leave now? It felt weird to leave a restaurant without paying, but he also wanted to get back to normal. Not hanging on Keilana and telling her how amazing she was. It just didn't feel right with a girl he barely knew. Although he was glad to be with her instead of, like, Chase's crazy ex or something. That girl was weird. {Woahh I'm alive?? What??? This conversation is two days old but anyway dating is a whole other concept for me tbh. My experience is purely through writing and RPing and my friends} "That's very true," Keilana agreed, nodding solemnly. She giggled immediately after. If they were actually together, she would have kissed his cheek or something, but she didn't. It would have been more convincing most likely, but there was no reason to make the both of them any more uncomfortable than they already are. "I'm still mad you haven't introduced us," Keilana huffed. "I should have made you introduce us sooner. I am determined to meet the rest of your family before the wedding." "Well then, enjoy the rest of your day," the waiter told them, still smiling. He nodded to them and walked off. Keilana looked at Arlo, smiling. It was a plastic smile and mostly amused. "I guess we just... go?" She honestly didn't know what to do either. They were both pretty much done with their food, and there was no check. Oh god, why did they think this was a good idea? They were both too awkward for this. Arlo laughed a bit. "Yeah, I'll get you guys together soon," he said, rolling his eyes. A grin glued on his face, he waved at the waiter and led Keilana out of the restaurant. Once they left, he dropped her hand but kept the look of pure happiness on his face in case anyone was watching. "Well, I guess we should split up here. Just circle around to get to my car," he said, leaning in close. They were far enough away that it would look like he was whispering something or planting a kiss on her cheek. In reality, he did nothing but hold his face near hers for a few seconds. "And then I'll take the ring back once we're safely locked in my car," he said. Without waiting for a reply, he turned the corner and took the shortcut to where he parked the car. He unlocked it and stepped into the drivers seat, buckling up right away. "Ugh, that was horrible," he mumbled to himself. Maybe he should wait until he knew Keilana more before they tried this again. Or they didn't do it at all because he'd decided that proposing (even a fake one) was the hardest, most awkward thing he'd ever done. He could only do it like one more time and might as well save t for the girl he'd actually marry some day.

"Don't worry, Kris. I know a couple guys that would work for you. I don't know why you haven't asked me yet. In fact, it might be nice to date a guy that doesn't go to your school. You know, avoid any awkward moments after you break up," Jordan said. She shrugged a bit. "Logan wasn't right for me, but he might be a good match for you," she said. She'd dated the guy for a very short time before they decided that Logan wasn't right for Jordan. Jordan thought he might be good for Kris. "Plus he's good at math, so if you ever need help..."
Jordan frowned a bit when Kris denied her the phone, but then nodded. "Yeah, I guess you're kinda right. See, Kris, this is why I need you around. Show him the one of us when we went mini golfing," she said. It was one of her favorite pictures of the two of them when they had dated. The slight breeze and lighting of the day had made both of them look their best.
"It's not that I need to see him. Drake does. I'm not going into details about Kyle or what a jerk he is, but Drake's gotta see why I first fell for him," Jordan said. She knew plenty of girls at East Grove thought Kyle was good looking. The fact that he played football and had a bit of a bad boy thing going on just made it better. It turns out he was a bigger jerk than he liked to show others. Jordan learned that the hard way.
Jordan raised an eyebrow a bit when Kris described a bad boy. "Bad boys are what I thought Kyle was. Remember? When I kept telling you about him before we started dating? But then he just went and ruined everything. Also, I remembered more stuff to tell you about Kyle that's gonna make you hate him more," she said.
"I don't know. I think that line was pretty great. A cheesy kind of great," Jordan said, nodding towards Drake.
"Also, just remember, if you crash my car, you're buying me a new one."

(Honestly I just love hugs so much and one of the best hugs was from a coworker I haven't seen in over a year and I miss him)
"Cool, I'll tell Jack when I get home, but I don't think he'll have a huge problem with it. He's pretty chill as long as Mia and I aren't doing anything stupid," she said. She swirled her straw in her water before taking a sip.
"Ferrets? Mia loves animals and I'm pretty chill with anything as long as I'm not responsible for taking care of it. My last goldfish lasted three days," she said with a laugh. Of course, that had been twelve years ago and she'd won it at a cheap church festival for two tickets. Mia and Jack had kept their fish alive longer than Sophia had.
"Hey, I'm always looking for new friends. And you're pretty cool, so yeah, I'd love to be your friend," Sophia said, feeing as if she was in second grade again when everyone had been friends with practically everyone. "Yeah, I guess you're right. I mean, Mia's smart enough not to fall for anything Mason tries so they probably won't be 'together' much longer," she said, putting air quotes around together.
"Well, I knew about it, but I hadn't really paid much attention and didn't realize how bad it was," she said. She shrugged a bit. "Plus I figured I'd never be interested in Mason and I assumed Mia wouldn't either, so there was really no reason for me to pay attention to the little reputation he had going on."
***
"Oh," Mia said, a bit of a smile. She'd had a clean slate with Mason when they first met. She didn't have to worry about him judging her. It was something Mia worried about often even though the logical part of her said most of the other students had probably forgotten about it. "Well, that's good, but I didn't realize you came from East Grove," she said. It wasn't a fact most people would advertise, so she wasn't surprised she didn't know hat about Mason.
"Jack's actually pretty relaxed at home. You know? He just gets worried if Sophia or I do something that could hurt us or ruin our futures. I can drink at home. I can't drink at parties. I could probably date. He wouldn't want me dating you," she said. There were a few other guys that Jack wouldn't want her to date, but Mason was probably near the top of the list. "He was actually helping Sophia drag me out to the party last night," she said with a small laugh. Jack was a bit overprotective at times, but she didn't mind. He wanted her to be safe.
"Probably," Mia said with a laugh. "Well, I'm glad she never did. Someone like Jace would be a lot better for her," she said. Sophia wasn't a bad person and she didn't go after bad guys. Mia just figured that someone who may be able to calm Sophia's party-like spirit would be best.
"I'm going to have to finish the date up on my own?" Sophia asked, unsure if Mason was planning to leave now or go into the restaurant with her. "Hey, Mason, before you leave, give me a hug," she said. Mia was a very touchy person and hugs were some of her favorite things. She found any excuse to hug people. Her friends were used to it and all it'd do now is look natural if her and Mason were supposedly on a date.

(Yay my characters were added ^.^ zeph! would you like to start now?) (Yes, please.) Nimbus was at a bookstore, sitting on a beanbag. She had a rather large book in her hand, and was reading through the description at the back. She nodded, satisfied with the plot, before reading the first few pages. Hmph... Should I get this book? She thought. Nimbus usually only got one book a week, so she had to be extra careful picking one out. It's good enough. She got up, and walked to the register, where she quickly paid. She opened the door, and carefully bounded down the stairs. She picked up her book, and started walking along the sidewalk, while reading her new book. "Oops, sorry." She kept mumbling absently.
