(Also my plot is forbidden romance. I'm gonna use Jordan. But she goes to a school that they have an intense rivalry with (like really intense) but her cousin/friend goes to this school and she spends a lot of time with them and then a relationship forms with her and one of the guys)

{Ah, okay. I knew it had something to do with the daughter lol} "Mia," Elita said instantly, ignoring his comment on how awkward she was despite the blush on her face at being called out. She hadn't liked Adriane all that much, though she barely interacted with her. She didn't really hear good stories of her often, but of course she hadn't said anything to Mason. It wasn't any of her business. She didn't know Mia, but she was sure she was probably the better option. Elita went to pick out a few flowers, humming as she did so. Contrary to popular belief, it wasn't often that people who worked in flower shops actually knew what flowers meant. In fact, hardly anybody ever actually knew. The only reason Elita knew what some flowers meant was because she liked using them as symbolism in her stories. Satisfied with what she picked out, she headed back to the counter to put them all together. "Mason, you come here often enough that I know you don't need a ride," she said thoughtfully while she put together the bouquet. She hadn't paid much attention to what Jace said, but it finally registered in her head as weird. ((Nah, I don't care. XD It's fine, but I figured I should probably tell you so you know, if that's cool...? Basic rundown, although I don't want any characters knowing this besides Drake, Mason, Elita, and obviously Adriane. Others will probably find out as time passes. So, it has a lot to do with Adriane. Mason and Adriane started dating in about their sophomore year of high school and everything was going great, until Adriane found out she was pregnant. Through magic of hiding it (Lost, should Adriane have just been homeschooled during the pregnancy...?), no one else found out about it and they had a darling daughter named Ariana when they were juniors, so about 16/17. Adriane wanted to give her up for adoption but eventually, Mason convinced her to keep Ari. They came to an agreement, which Adriane's dad heavily influenced, where Mason had to help pay child support. Now, Mason and Drake's mom is not the best and with Ari now coming over occasionally, Mason dropped out of school to get a couple jobs so he can get an apartment, wherw he also took Drake, and help support Ariana. Hence a big reason why Mason doesn't want to let Adriane go, either. And the end I think...? XD)) "Wow, the awkward is strong here." Mason said rather bluntly and then grinned at Elita. "I'm here to get a bouquet of flowers. All this drama went down last night and Mia Walsh and Adriane were both asking me to ignore the other and go with them." "I chose neither, at the time, but I think I'm finally ready to decide. So I need some flowers. Preferably pretty." Mason told Elita with a smile. "Do you have an opinion on who I should choose?" Jace sighed. "I'm just here because Mason needed a ride." He said. This was awkward. Personally, Jace felt as if Mason should pick Mia. Mia was nice and sweet while Adriane was... well, she was toxic. (Everyone: Mia Mason: Adriane! XD) |

Elita blinked at him blankly, then took off her glasses to pinch the bridge of her nose, taking deep breaths as she did so. She was working on trying to rein in the flow of irritation in her chest. Really, it wasn't enough that Mason was pretty obviously making the wrong choice in life--she wondered if this made her an enabler, although she did admit that his daughter wasn't bad at all--but he also thought it was a good idea to try and matchmake her. She would let him crash and burn with Adriane for now, but she wasn't going to let him try to decide who she would date.
"Mason," she said slowly. Then she reached over and hit him, lightly enough, over the head. "You know I'm not a people person, much less a dating person. Stop that." She put her glasses back on and smiled awkwardly at Jace. "Please don't take this the wrong way, but I'm not interested. I don't know what he's thinking..." She didn't like to date unless she was actually close to someone. Her first time dating had been a disaster--a result of peer pressure because everybody thought they were a good couple. They were acquaintances at best at the time, and after that week was over, they never spoke again. She didn't want a repeat of that.

((Flower symbolism is the best, though.
Mason and Elita are my new favorite best friends. XD))
"Hey! Rude!" Mason grumbled when he got smacked over the head. "Look, don't go on the double date then. That's fine. I'm just saying, you two should at least become friends or try talking. You both need friends." He said and snatched the bouquet from Elita. "Thank you," he smiled at her and, without paying, made his leave.
Jace felt awkward, to say the least. Should he walk out or try some of his new moves on getting friends? It had worked well with Sophia. "I'm not, uh, offended at all. I don't want to date at the moment. And I especially don't want to double date with Mason and Adriane."

"Get back here! You need to pay for that!" Elita shouted as he left. She huffed and eyed the door, wondering if she should go after him. She shook her head. It was too much trouble to run after him, and there was still someone in the shop. That was the excuse she made for herself anyway--in reality, she just didn't want to go out. She would get the money from him later.
With an apologetic and an attempt at a sweet smile, she turned to Jace again. "I wouldn't want to double date with them either. Adriane is... hm." She played with her hair, once again feeling awkward about this situation. She wanted to be careful with her words, not knowing for sure what Jace thought of Adriane and wanting to be on the safe side.

"Yeah, exactly. Adriane is very hmm." Jace laughed. It seemed that no one truly liked Adriane except for Mason. He felt bad for her... But only a little bit. Adriane wasn't a good person, so Jace couldn't feel a lot of sympathy towards her.
"It would appear that no one but our dear Mason likes Adriane." Jace sighed and pulled out his wallet. "Uh, what does Mason owe you? I can get the money from him later. I don't want him messing anything up by not paying."

Elita giggled as Jace agreed with her. "Yeah, I never liked her when they started dating. I still don't like her now..." She wasn't sure what Adriane thought of her. Most likely, she didn't even register on her radar. Elita had made an effort to stay anonymous, so only people who were in her classes or were her friends were really aware of her existence in high school. Friends of friends knew her as well, but otherwise, she was quiet and didn't bother with people. So, Elita probably hadn't been important enough for Adriane to remember, and if she did, she doubted she liked her at all.
"O-oh, it's not a lot. It's just twenty dollars," she told him. "Y-you don't have to get the money from him. I'll just get it whenever he comes by next..." It would probably be a lot easier on her if she did let him do what he wanted, but it was courtesy to not accept it. It wouldn't be too much trouble to get Mason to bring her the money anyway.
{I have no idea how much bouquets cost lol}

Drake could work. ;-; He's so cute. Sorry. Just thinking about Drake sometimes brings a tear to my eye.))
Jace hadn't spent a ton of time with Adriane and at some point, Mason had more or less cut him completely out of his and Adriane's relationship, so he liked her even less. Still, he would support his friend, no matter what his decision might end up being.
Such as the wrong decision to date Adriane, but that was old news to Jace. "Alright, well, I will pay because I like to be a somewhat decent person, but..." he started pulling one dollar bill after one dollar bill out of his wallet. "I-I appear to only have ones..." This was a mess already.
((neither do I. XD But those stupid arm flowers and the lapel flowers are expensive, so that seems accurate.))
