"Adults," Keilana said with a roll of her eyes. "A lot of them seem to think they know everything because they've seen more or whatever. I think you're doing a great job, despite having never seen you with your sister. I don't know anything about children, so you're already doing a much better job than I ever would." She liked children, but she didn't know how to act around them. She hadn't been around a lot of children.
Keilana sighed and sat beside him. "Well that's a disappointment," she said. "Hmm, if I had money I'd just go out and buy one, but then my parents will want to know why I went out and bought a cake since I'll have to bring it home and I can't eat a whole cake by myself..." Since Arlo had brought up cake, she really wanted some. She probably wouldn't be able to rest until she got it, or until she had to go home and she crashed on her bed.

"I learned pretty quick. Even when she was a baby and I was just a kid, my grandma would teach me a lot. She said girls love it when a guy knows how to handle a baby," he said with a laugh. "I bet she didn't expect me to need the skills so soon," he said.
"I mean, I could always store it at my house but there's no promise that Chase, Ella, and I wouldn't get into it. And maybe or maybe not finish it," he said with a shrug. "We're all still kids. We like sugar."

{Okay! Goodnight!}
"It's true; girls love a guy that can take care of children." She winked playfully and giggled. "But more importantly, it's good that you got those lessons from your grandma. Kind of sad that you had to use them, but good." She wondered if he ever got any downtime though. It didn't seem like it. She wondered if she would come off as annoying if she asked, and chose to stay quiet about it.
"Guess I'd just have to go to your house to make sure you didn't," she joked. "I wouldn't mind sharing so long as I get my piece. Alternatively, I could just go to a small diner and order a piece of cake, but ugh, that's awkward if I go by myself... You have totally gotten me stuck on this cake business I hope you know."
{As I was typing this I was reminded of a plot in which two characters pretend to be on dates in order to get free dessert at restaurants but then feelings actually happen}

"Really?" Drake's eyes widening in admiration. "Do you think she'd show me the secret backroom? I don't want a job, I just want to see want to see who's behind the 'Employees Only' door."
Drake showed a general lack of common sense as in, behind that door was not a magical chocolate factory or something, despite that easily being what he was thinking.
--
"Yeah, I think I am." Jace laughed. He felt honored to be part of that group. "And you're probably out most of the time, too, right? Partying and meeting guys?" That seemed like stuff Sophia would do.
"It sounds lovely. Not really the big family part, that sounds like it would be a headache, but fun." Or so Jace assumed.
--
"Chris Davis. With a name like that, he sounds like a jerk." Ash replied. "I didn't know Arlo had it in him to, you know, beat someone up." She'd always just thought of him as the friendly nerd. Well, maybe rude nerd. But apparently family changed Arlo. She briefly wondered if Jace would beat someone up for her, but figured he would probably talk tough, and then get scared and chicken out last minute.

"Yeah. I mean, I guess I should be happy that I got them. My grandma said I could call whenever I had any questions about childcare. And I've called her plenty of times. She's always got an anawer and I'm glad to have someone on my side," he said.
"We could do that or we could go to the grocery store. They have small pieces of cake for a few dollars," he suggested. In fact, they even had cheesecake and that was Arlo's favorite kind of cake, despite the fact that he didn't like cake.
(I could see Arlo and Keilana doing that)

"She probably would show us if you're that excited, Drake, but I should warn you hat it's nots very interesting. I'm assuming it's like the back room at my store and it's just filled with boxes and pallet jacks and it smells weird," she said, wrinkling her nose. The only reason she liked the back room was because she could go on her phone back there. There were no bosses or customers.
"But, sure, we could definitely go and ask. If Amelia is there, she'd have no problem with letting us," Mia promised, laughing a bit at his excitement to see the back room.
***
"Sometimes," Sophia admitted. "If there's a party, I'm definitely there. I do meet guys, but I'm actually surprisingly picky," she said with a laugh. Sophia had the look of some cheerleader, the stereotypical blonde popular girl in books and movies. Some of the beliefs people had about her were true. Some weren't.
"Yeah, I mean, it's a little bit of both. Mia, Jack, and I were the only ones that lived out here so we've always been closer than my other cousins. I just kind of hang out with them the whole time we're at family stuff."
***
"He's usually a big softie, but he cares about his family. Me and our sister. I don't mean to sound self centered or anything, but I know we're the most important Hingis in his life. But yeah, I was a bit surprised when we went to school and he just hit Chris," Chase said with a shrug. It had been surprising, yes, but also a great day.
He took another bite of cake, just thinking about things. He hadn't revisited that memory for a year or two. It felt good. Reassurance that, however annoyed Arlington seemed, he always had Chase's back.

((And then Chase and Ash just being really sick. XD))
"Yeah, but I've never been in the back room of any store!" Drake answered. When had he had the opportunity? That's right. NEVER. "This is my chance to cross something off of my bucket list because 'See the back room of Wal-Mart' is right there after 'Lick a banana tree.'" He stopped his argument there as if it couldn't be argued with any further.
((Hmm... considering messing Drake up badly...))
--
"Well, I guess you probably have enough guys trying to go out with you that you can be picky." Jace laughed. She reminded him of Ash... kind of. Not really. Maybe faintly? Anyway, Jace couldn't really afford to be picky. The number of girls that had ever crushed on him had been zero... well, no, there had been one but Jace hadn't returned the feelings and then Mason had gone and slept with her. At a party. At his house. Classy.
"You would think you would get tired of them eventually." Jace joked with a laugh.
--
"Sibling loyalty. Or sibling bonding... whatever you want to call it. Anyway, it's the most important thing in life, to know that your siblings always have your back." Ash said. She kind of wished that she was closer to Jace, but a lot of the things that had happened in his life had happened when she was away at private school. But now she was here, full-time, and trying to rekindle that sibling love.
"I think I might be sick after we're finished with this, but I'm determined." Ash commented.

{My art professor cancelled class this week which is great because 1) I haven't done my homework and 2) I won't have to stay at the college until 4:20 this week}
Keilana and Arlo would find them and Keilana would just be totally melodramatic and fall to the ground with fake tears in her eyes, demanding Arlo get vengeance for her.
I think Keilana and Arlo should totally do the fake dating thing for free food imeanwhat}
"Well that's good," she said. "And hey, I'm on your side too, even though I know absolutely nothing about childcare. As your new friend, I'm totally going to try and be supportive." She didn't know what she would do or how she would do it, but she always tried to be supportive of her friends. The downside to that was when she didn't know how to tell them she disagreed with something they did, but she hoped she wouldn't have to worry too much about morality versus not losing a friend with Arlo.
"Yes! Let's go to the grocery store and get cake!" Keilana chirped, perking up all of a sudden. She was pretty tired by now and she had practically almost been falling asleep at that point, but that wasn't as important as cake. She didn't even care whether or not Arlo was joking, though she knew that it was most likely that he was. She just really wanted that cake. "Wait, do either of us even have money us? Because I know I don't." She usually brought money with her everywhere she went, but she hadn't thought she'd need it at a party.
{I have made Keilana too cake-obsessed on accident and I did not mean to do that but w/e}

He's too cute... What were you thinking?) "Well, I don't have any banana trees, but we can totally check it out and see if Amelia's there. If not, we can come back another day," she suggested. Sneaking back there anyways had crossed Mia's mind, but she had never done anything slightly rebellious. Sneaking into the employees only part of a store seemed insane to h r. *** "A couple," Sophia said, deciding that she and Jace lived very different lifestyles. "More than Mia. Not quite as many girls as Jack gets, but he's super picky about them," she rolled her eyes about her cousin's dating habits. Jack wouldn't go out for someone just because. He wanted to be able to picture marrying that person. Now, Sophia wasn't one to lead someone on for nothing, but the thought of marriage hadn't even crossed her mind. *** "It is. I couldn't ask for better siblings," Chase said. It was true. He and Arlo fought and he was terrible with children, but his siblings were special to him. He couldn't imagine being an only child or only having distant relations with his siblings. At this point, he was much closer to them than his parents. "Agreed," Chase said, taking another bite. "I mean, juice and cake is probably the best way to eat sick." He cracked open another juice box, emptying it in one long drank and put it aside to throw away later. He took a large bite of cake.

{Sameee I need to do better than my sister.
One day they do the fake proposal but then someone they know is in the restaurant and is like "wtf you guys"}
Keilana cheered. "Yes! Let's get going!" She didn't really feel all that guilty for using his mom's money. She's lied to her parents before to get money out of them, so it's not exactly an odd thing for her. She does, however, feel guilty about using his money, so she makes a mental note to pay him back if she can. With that, she jumped to her feet and stretched, a wide smile on her face. "I'm totally going to use this as a break from all this music, too."

I'm sure Chas will call if he needs a ride," Arlo said. He pushed his way through the crowd and out the door. It was much cooler outside and he smiled, buttoning up the top few buttons of his shirt since they were actually going out in public instead of a high school party. "Come on," he said, taking off at a jog towards his car. They had parked way too far away.

Keilana: *exaggerated gasp* You're cheating on me??? Alternatively, their family sees them. Keilana's parents would get really mad which Drama, especially if Feelings have already happened at this point}
Keilana made her way outside with him and sighed happily as she felt the cool air. It was getting way too hot in there. She quickly followed after Arlo, the music getting quieter as they got further away. "Ah, I'm so glad to be away from all that," she said. "Parties are good in moderation. They're so tiring, and it was getting a bit too loud for me back there." It had been starting to irritate her actually, and she wasn't very good company when she was irritated or exhausted. She seemed a lot more relaxed now that they were away.

Ooh! Nice job! =D And good luck on that test.
Fake proposals, until they got one restaurant, he proposes, and someone that saw them propose at another restaurant calls their bluff. XD))
((>.> Just... small... things. Messing with his bipolar disorder. Taking him off his medication. Maybe making him drink some alcohol which would really mess with his bipolar disorder. Hehehe.))
"Yes! We could totally sneak into the employees only part and take all of the candy that I bet they have stashed back there!" Drake's face lit up with the idea and grabbed Mia's hand, dancing his way to the edge of the dance floor. "We should go now! I want candy, you probably want candy because who doesn't want candy. We could still one of those big truck things and bring back a whole pallet full of candy for the party! We'd be heroes! Legends!"
And probably in jail, but that part didn't occur to Drake, because those kind of common sense things seemed to skate right over his head.
--
"Jack gets girls?" Jace asked, a little surprised that his crazy friend with his not-so-attractive dad moves managed to actually get a lot of girls. Well, he was a handsome enough fellow, Jace guessed.
"So, uh, I don't know about you but I may have forgotten to grab some swim trunks. And I don't think swimming in my boxers is something you want to see." Or his pale, scrawny chest.
--
"So, what do your parents do that makes them so busy all the time?" Ash asked. She was hoping that wasn't too personal -- well, actually, how could a question like that be personal? That was one of the most popular questions. What do you parents do for a living?
"I wonder if you can get a sugar hangover but eating too much. I mean, I guess we'll find out tomorrow." Was it possible? Probably.
