Since a mateship is signified by the giving of a Jay's feather, maybe he can give that to her after her ceremony. Maybe blue can give him one and be told not till she's a warrior. Either way thats kind of how it's done so regardless they aren't official until the feather is given? Sorry for my roundabout way of speaking rn I'm just trying to write something quickly!!!ahshsuiahsjns ]

Goldenbear - Camp
Goldenbear had just finished a meal, and now lay on the icy rock floor of camp. He groomed out his brown tabby fur as he always did right after a meal, almost all his warrior duties were done for the day and now it was time to relax before his evening duties. That is if Cinderspark chose him for another hunting patrol or border patrol, or maybe even night guard. After having laid there for some time, the rock floor beneath him began to warm and the fluffy tom let out a yawn, before resting his head on his paw. He closed his gold eyes as to doze for a bit, although Goldenbear couldn't remember the last time he was just able to doze and relax.

      Lionheart nodded along to Ebonyflame's response. It was a relief that his friend, and the rest of her patrol, didn't get caught in the downpour. Honestly, he was impressed that some cats were still leaving camp despite the weather, especially with the current hullabaloo caused by a queen's kitting, but lo and behold he'd spotted some of his peers leaving in the telltale direction of the waterfall that made up AetherClan's only entrance and exit. In this storm, he just hoped they didn't run into any trouble on the way back. It would be all too easy to lose one's footing on a wet cliff face! The golden warrior had figured that most cats would have wanted to stay in until the rain cleared, then give a hearty welcome to their new clanmates once Sunnydawn's kitting was over. He, certainly, was excited to see the new arrivals!
     Still, seeing as the the kitting seemed to be dragging on, or at least that Cloudfeather didn't want anyone coming into the nursery just yet (besides, apparently, Azurefall), Lionheart contemplated whether Ebonyflame would find it rude if he invited her to go out with him. After all, she'd just escaped the rain, but unlike her, he hadn't gone on patrol just yet and he was never one to just idle by contentedly until the sun decided to be more cooperative! Settling on that course of action, he proposed, "What do you say to getting out of camp for a bit? Maybe we can do a little border patrol of our own and see how the territory looks in all that rain." His tone was light, as always, but he felt a pinprick of anxiety that she would refuse. He assumed that not many cats would want to willingly go and get drenched with him in the rain, but he certainly didn't want to go out alone.


      Firelight kept his burgundy gaze on the sight before him, speechless for a few heartbeats longer, only briefly registering Sorrelnose's soft reply. It had been awhile since he'd taken things easy and enjoyed the simpler things in life, like the view. Being a warrior generally did not lend to such a lifestyle, and he was truly grateful to the she-cat for this moment, however brief. But as if suddenly registering that he'd lost his bravado, for lack of a better word, he felt his fur begin to heat up in embarrassment. The dappled tom was absolutely not used to showing a softer side around others, because he felt too vulnerable when he put his feelings out there plain in the open for others to witness - or worse, scrutinize. And to do so in front of a younger she-cat he'd barely interacted with before? StarClan, this was awkward!
      And so, the tom resorted to doing what any emotionally constipated warrior might do in this situation: he backpedaled. Hard. Time to pretend whatever just happened between them did not happen! "Well now!" he announced in a tone that was louder than before; Firelight was a firm believer that the louder you spoke, the more confident you came across, even if you had no idea what you were talking about. "I must mean quite a lot to you if you took the time to show me this amazing little spot, right?" There it was - back to pretending to be braver than he really was. Still, his tail flicked impatiently behind him, a nervous tic he himself didn't notice he had. He hoped she would just, ahem, casually forget his little indiscretion from before.


      Pebblepaw was feeling restless - more restless than usual - today, and he didn't think it had anything to do with the bad weather. Sure, being cave-bound was boring in and of itself when he could be out and about training with his mentor, but what grated his nerves more was what was going on in camp at the moment: Sunnydawn's kitting. He didn't know the queen very well, indeed he had nothing against her at all, but any reminders of the nursery tended to set him off lately, and the arrival of new kits was a very prominent in-your-face reminder. Sure, his upbringing in the nursery had been all well and good, and he deeply appreciated his mother for looking after him and his siblings the best she could, but it didn't take a genius to figure out that they were somehow... different from the rest of the clan. No one ever said as much directly to him, but they didn't have to. During his time in the nursery, he and his littermates had shared the den with Lavendersong's kits, and it didn't escape his attention that Sharpfang, both a dutiful mate and father, would visit his kits fairly often. Yet no tom ever did the same for him and his siblings. It made a curious little kit like him wonder - just who was his father, and why did no one ever talk about him?
     Pebblepaw wanted to confide this feeling of not belonging, this sensation of imposter's syndrome, with Cloverpaw and Ripplepaw, but he wasn't sure they would understand. They were all busy with their training as apprentices now, and he didn't want to push them away. Maybe they just didn't care to know the identity of their father. Bluepaw seemed the most attuned to his feelings, but she didn't seem to be in camp at the moment. Deep in his own thoughts, the little tom paced around camp entirely ignorant of his surroundings, and accidentally walked straight into his denmate Cherrypaw. Oof! Briefly baffled that something had apparently been in his way and he hadn't at all noticed until collision, the blue-gray tom quickly uttered a sheepish apology to the pretty tortie. "Sorry Cherrypaw! I wasn't looking where I was going." Well, that much was obvious, but hopefully she wouldn't snap at him like some of their grumpier clanmates.
