It was endearing. Even if he meant it with pure intentions, he did know what it could mean thereafter and seeing his closest friend accept him as close as they were left the tom blushing beneath his fur. His ears were warm and he had to inwardly calm himself before he recklessly said something else. It was hard, before he knew it he brought himself close to the brown she-cat, pressing his own nose to hers without warning. "Even this close?" He decided to ask with an unflinching gaze, each word that left him was daring and exuding confidence. Part of the loner was incredibly worried he would chase is friend away, but he would be lying to his whole being if he didn't admit that he liked Olivepool. Probably more than he realized before they decided to meet up today. |

The blue-gray tom didn't mean to brush off the gratitude but he didn't believe his honest opinion was something he needed thanks for. If there was anyone for Flamepaw to be thanking, the apprentice thought he should be thanking himself. It's your own compassion that anyone else would have complimented you for too, Ripplepaw thought anyway. Soon a howl of wind erupted in camp for a brief moment, bringing the apprentices eyes to the grayed out entrance. "The storm outside seems like it's getting worse," He commented offhandedly as he moved to wrap his tail around his paws.

I woke up at 8am and was super out of it all day bc I go to sleep around 3-4am most nights then I took a nap which ended up lasting for 4 whole hours (oops) and honestly it's just been one heck of a sleepy day. Tomorrow should be much better unless my body betrays me again and wakes up at some ungodly hour. Fingers crossed lol. }

Bluepaw could immediately sense that Ghostlight was uncomfortable, and she was proven right by his drawn out and bashful explanation, but she still wasn't prepared for the real answer when it came. She felt her cheeks and ears grow hot quickly, the surprise and embarrassment causing her heart to speed up a bit. She could hear the tom's accelerated heartbeat beneath his pelt as well. Briefly she was glad he wasn't looking at her, but of course the moment she thought about it his gaze returned and met her wide blue eyes. Great, now he would see how surprised she was. She had meant to maintain a relatively cool air—he was a warrior, after all! But the fact that he was visibly uncomfortable too made her feel a bit better. They were at least uncomfortable together. Flinttail gave a little nod to Foxflight. "Good to hear." he said, returning the smile. He looked around at their surroundings, at the trees and undergrowth, listening to the soft patter of rain upon the canopy overhead. Everything seemed so calm and peaceful now, the eagle was no longer visible in the distance, now just the two of them safe and alive.
