sorry thought i had responded)
Ash gave a nod to Farlow "You better stay safe" he said as he moved Ollie closer to his back "And you better hold on tight if you don't want to fall off. I'm going to need directions also" he added as he started to pick up speed. He started to feel the rain hit him and he let out a low growl. Ash had always hated the rain and it was definitely going to make things harder if it got any heavier. "The way you say that makes it sound like you know something about the storm" he said to Ollie
(thank god Lydia has her purple armor on)
Lydia started to get closer to Rosie. Something kept telling her something was wrong with all of this. Rosie was too afraid to leave her room not too long ago and now she was outside using her powers. "What are you scared about?" She asked
(well she rolled a 12 this time so she failed the red eyes lol)
Masaki chuckled "I mean you're not wrong. He is a pretty decent guy" he said. He followed Pip to the door at a slower pace before he finally saw Alex. Masaki raised an arm in greeting "Hey, how are you feeling? Still the same as usual?" He asked

( Protractor - Nope, you didn't miss it. We're in the middle of the running. As of yet... They are around the hero base. Whisper and Shadow/Esme are duelling inside. Rosie is just outside, speaking to Lydia while Ringo is sneaking in a shot. Meanwhile, Alpha is watching everything from his comfortable rooftop view. The sky is unnaturally dark (due to unrelated circumstances) and a barrier has been placed around the block to keep insiders in and outsiders out (due to related circumstances), so if you want some of your guys to get in on the fight, they could have arrived just before the barrier was placed. I may throw some lackeys in, just for the sake of it. So if ANY of you want to bust out some moves, feel free to role-play a little fight with some random lackey.) --- (No problem Lioncl. ^^) Ollie felt somewhat more at ease once on the back of the beast, despite a slight embarrassment. "Take a right here." His eyes narrowed, before he went on to explain. "We rescued a girl from some sort of shady organization last night. She has the abilty to manipulate the weather. And since it's raining, I can only assume something bad has happened." --- (Yep! ^^ Thankful indeed!) Rosie looked down at the ground, then she looked Lydia right in the eyes. "You." BANG! An unseen bullet streaked towards Lydia. At the moment of contact, it flickered to visibility. The bullets were tainted with a sleeping drug.(Hehe.) --- "ALEX!" Pip jumped forwards and hugged his waist. "I thought you wa gonna die!"

"A bit dizzy," Alex replied to Masaki while lightly smacking the side of his head a couple times with an open palm, "but otherwise no worse for wear." His eyes widened in surprise as Pip's sudden hug caught him off guard. "Well, it certainly felt like I was near death towards the end there..." He shook his head before turning back down the hallway. "The procedure also uploaded a digital map of the facility. After we head to the armory, I'd like to investigate the main server room."

Ash followed Ollie's direction as he took a right though it was a little too late and he ended up turning in the middle of the street. A car came hurtling toward them but Ash quickly jumped onto the roof of the car which ended up leaving a deep paw print as he landed back onto the street "Sorry 'bout that. Still getting used to being in a city again" he said. He was glad to hear that this group that he was joining didn't just focus on threats from supervillains. He wondered what other kind of people were part of this group "Let's just get there before anything else happens" he said
Lydia was taken by surprise by Rosie's response before she heard the gunshot. She reflexively surrounded Rosie in a purple box before she felt the bullets hit her though they merely fell to the ground and did nothing. She only now realized that Rosie's eyes were different and a scowl formed on her face "What the hell is going on?" She asked
Masaki smiled "Good, I would have hated to have to fight you" he said "But I guess we got lucky if they decided to do that. Seems like we won't have to waste a ton of time finding anything worth something"

Ollie held a little tighter to Ash as he leapt around, filled with both alarm and excitement. He glanced back at the screeching car, but quickly turned his head back to the direction they were heading. "Yeah," he agreed. "Left at that light up ahead, then it's a straight path there." There was some squirming under Ash's coat and a barrage of squeaky mutterings. Finla's head popped out of the back of his collar. "You're father's friend, right?"
Ollie looked down in surprise. "Yeah, I guess that's me."
"You're not what I expected..." Finla noted with a little bit of a pout. Just as suddenly as she appeared, she disappeared, pulled back under by her brother. They began squirming again undercloak, Lowen chastising his sister in squeaking ferret language. --- Rosie glanced around at the change, but didn't seem to be very concerned. "What's going on, you ask? Something that you and your friends have brought upon yourselves. Did you think you could just waltz right in, take what you want and walk away with no repercussions? Think again." Rosie grinned an uncharacteristically sly looking grin. Sheet lightning flashed again in the sky, followed by dark rolling thunder.

A smirk came across Ash's face "What did you expect? Another person that can turn into an animal? Sorry to say, I doubt there's many people who can do that. Well, at least not as good as us" he said as he turned down the next street. "So do you think this shady organization trying to take this girl back or something?" He asked Ollie
The purple box surrounding Rosie suddenly opened in front of her and started to stretch out til it also surrounded Lydia. She wasn't taking any chances of getting hit by lightning right now. She didn't know if her armor would be able to protect her from something as strong as lightning and she wasn't willing to test it out right now. It seemed like she was going to have to subdue the poor girl herself from the way things looked. "So I guess we have an idea of another of your little gang's powers are. Tell me, do you feel strong possessing a poor and scared girl? What the hell are you planning to do with her?" She asked

In chittering ferretspeak, beneath Ash's cloak...
"It's just that he seems so weak. I thought he'd be big and strong. I though he'd be cool looking! Something like Ash." Finla sighed.
"Father said that he was caught in some sort of darkness, a strange unusual place. He said that this guy had power there. Strange abilities. He might not seem very strong, but-"
"He can't even run on his own. Look at him. It's pathetic. How can someone like him save our father? Father's the best!"
Lowen sighed. It seemed Finla was listening to nothing he was saying. ~ "If I was to guess, that sounds about right. That's the most reasonable assumption, unless..." Ollie shook his head. No. Cass said Orion wouldn't show his face until the week was out. The road they were on seemed to stretch on too long, but so it always was when people were in a hurry. --- Rosie smiled when the box widened. The wind and the rain continued to fall outside the box, but inside, they were sheltered. "Ah. Not bad. You are fairly intelligent for a government dog." She lifted her gaze to the ceiling of the box, before returning to settle on Lydia. "Poor and scared you say? Do you know what this child is capable of? If used properly, she can be a weapon of mass proportions. It's no wonder you would want such a powerhouse on your side. With some training, she could become so much more."
Still invisible, Ringo was now trapped outside of the box, so he put away the gun and made preparations for the next move. ~ Alpha smiled to himself. So her purple armour was impenetrable to bullets as well. How fascinating. This little game was proving to be quite amusing. While Aegis was distracted by the girl, he'd have Ringo go into the building and scope things out there. Whisper hadn't come out for a while, and he could feel that she was in danger. He could help but feel excited as he wondered what other sort of players did this little group of heroes had.

Ash smirked "Your brother is right, you can't judge people by the way they look especially if they have powers. You could see someone that doesn't have much muscle on them and then find out they are the strongest person on the planet. Also, I would be a little more respectful to this guy since he did save your father" he said. "Well we should be prepared for anything so keep your guard up" he said as he looked around.
(im guessing they are stuck in an illusion?)
Lydia really didn't like that the person controlling Rosie was now complimenting her and wanted to just knock him out but she didn't want to be too rough on Rosie. "I know perfectly well how powerful she could become. I'm sure she could make natural disasters appear out of nowhere with enough training but we saved her because she was being mistreated by you and your gang. If she didn't want to fight with us, we would have let her go since we're not too big on keeping frightened girls against their will"
(so I did a roll and Lydia got a nat 20 so if Ringo tries going through the front door, she's gonna know)

(:3 Right about now, they will have arrived at the barrier.)
The two ferrets went silent, almost in a sort of sulk.
Ollie couldn't really hear what the two ferrets were saying other than Finla's first comment, but he heard Ash's response. His cheeks reddened slightly upon realization that they were talking about him. He decided it would be best not to say anything for now. Besides, something about the street was bothering him. He glanced at the street signs, mentally listing them as they went by. Something was wrong with this... His eyes narrowed, then shot open wide. "Wait! Stop here!" Ollie looked behind them, scanning the dark street. He didn't know how, but somehow they were heading back the way they came! How could that be possible!? A silhouette of humanoid Farlow suddenly poofed into view a few metres ahead of them. --- (Aye aye!)
"Mistreated? Would it change your mind if I told you we didn't hurt a bone in her body? Never once struck by one of us. In fact, she wants to be down there. I bet she even told you so, not that you ever stopped to listen. She's dangerous, you see. In fact, she already hurt several people. Killed even. If word got out, being the government sort you are, you should know they wouldn't take that lightly," Rosie explained.
Beyond the reach of the light box, the door to the building behind Lydia slipped open, letting out a soft squeak as it did.

Ash realized something was wrong as he kept running but he couldn't put his finger on it. It seemed like Ollie had realized something was up to by the way he kept looking around as if he was making a list of his surroundings. When he heard Ollie yell for him to stop, Ash did and looked around. He noticed that there was a figure that resembled Farlow and he started to walk over "Farlow, why aren't you at base yet?" He asked
The scowl on Lydia's face only intensified as she heard whoever was possessing Rosie talk but she had to admit what he was saying was right. She had told them that she should have stayed in that base and she knew that the girl had already hurt people. "And what were you going to do with her? Turn her into a living weapon and force her to kill and hurt more people? That would only hurt her even more and cause her to fall further into your grasp and you can be sure as hell that I wasn't going to let that happen. I would have helped the girl get through it and let her live her own life, not cooped up in a cold and dark room" she said. Suddenly, she heard the door to the building squeak open and Lydia whipped around and made another purple box in the doorway, hopefully catching whoever was trying to enter the building

"Something is keeping us from making passage," Farlow replied. "One of our senses defies us." He lifted his gaze to look past Ash. "Close your eyes, my friends."
Ollie looked confused. How was closing their eyes supposed to help them get back? The presence before him felt like Farlow, and he felt no deceit from his words.
"Ollie, you left through here earlier today, am I correct?"
"Yeah..."
"Then your path will lead us back to our designated location. Do you see it, Ash?" Despite the word see, Farlow was not speaking of physical vision, but the vision of scent. --- (Are the boxes of light translucent? I've been treating them that way, but tell me if I'm wrong.)
"Oh, such little trust. What do you think your precious government would do if they got ahold of one such as her?" Rosie stopped speaking and watched as a box was made at the door of the building. The door was stuck open, while the seemingly empty box of light remained. Rosie laughed, a sick smile on her face. Oh yes, this was an incredible catch indeed. Just imagine what they could do with such a person. She had tabs in the government, she was strong, she was smart. So much more effective than the light bender he currently had. But toughened as she was and since she had the ability to counter Ringo's illusions, it wouldn't be easy to break her.
Ringo was in fact caught, and this was in fact, his real body. However, he did not show himself.

Ash did as Farlow suggested and closed his eyes. He took in a deep breath through his nose to try and catch Ollie's scent. It took him a few moments since he had to differ Ollie's old and new scents but he managed to get it. Ash nodded "I got it" he said "You better hold on tight. We need to get there before it starts pouring" he added
(yes they are translucent)
"The 'precious government' wouldn't have gotten a hand on her. I would have made sure of that. Hell, they don't even know-" she said before cutting herself off. She had almost let out some secrets that she shouldn't have. She did have her ways to have Rosie be virtually impossible to find. She had set up some backup plans in case she had ever needed to get out quickly or needed to disappear for a while. She turned back to the small box back by the door. She could sense something was inside of it so she shrunk the box slightly "I'd suggest you show yourself before it get's uncomfortable in there" she said.

The scent was quickly fading. Even Farlow struggled to pick it up at this point. He'd have to put his trust in Ash for this one.
Ollie secured his grip. As silly and childish as he felt, riding upon another man (of sorts), he must put up with it so they might arrive sooner. He was worried. He hoped everyone was alright. --- Rosie chuckled. "They don't even know what? Come now, you can't stop there. Not as much a government lackey as you're made out to be huh?"
When Lydia shrunk the second box, light shifted within. It stirred, and began to grow brighter. Soon it was a gleaming box of white light. The effort was drawing from Lydia's hardlight box. The amount of softlight that could be drawn from hardlight was immense indeed. The softlight within was becoming dense while the hardlight box itself was thinning against the bright coalition of light.

Ash was still able to keep track of the trail but it was growing fainter by the second. "Farlow, maybe you should jump on too. I'm going to move faster. You all better hold on tight" he said
Lydia scoffed "I'm only as much of a government dog as I let them see. I wouldn't be in this city if I were actually one anyways. They'd probably have me stay full-time over in the Middle East knowing them" she said. She honestly needed to stop talking to this person. It was clear they were trying to distract her from who she could now tell was Mensonge in box. She noticed that Mensonge was trying to drain her hardlight from her and scowled. "Trying to take a page out of my book now, are we?" She said as she started to focus more on the box holding Mensonge. She started to convert the soft light back into hardlight, shrinking the box even more as she did. "I would stop right now if you don't want to end up with a few broken limbs. Just show yourself Mensonge or are you going in there to check on your grandmother's dead body?"

Farlow shifted back to ferret form and leapt onto Ash's back. The way they were going made no sense to the naked eye. They were running through houses, the air warping around them in the most unusual manner. The closer they came, the heavier the rain seemed to fall, but they were almost there. One last push and they would be there. --- "You don't get it, do you?" Mensonge's voice chuckled from the box. Though strained, his voice had a familiar tone to it. The exchange of light made it difficult, but as the box shrunk, the softlight grew dense within, a sharp point of light that would be hard to look at. It was beginning to grow tight for the man inside. His back was against one side while his hands pressed against the other. But was Alpha worried? Not one bit. After all, the game was just beginning.
Suddenly the air seemed to fill with static. KABOOM! Lightning flashed down, striking the box that held Lydia and Rosie.
(Heyo, just curious here- which metal would you compare hardlight’s strength to?)

It was getting harder and harder to keep track of the scent trail. If it weren't for his specially enhanced senses, he was sure that he would have lost the trail long ago. Suddenly the hair on the back of his neck rose up and the smell of nitrogen oxide hit him hard before the sound of thunder boomed around them. "Do you think that was because of your friend or was it just normal weather?" Ash asked
Lydia immediately recognized the tone that Mensonge was using as the same one Rosie was. Her eyes narrowed before the lightning hit the box above her, causing it to shatter into thousands of shards of purple light. "Shit" was all Lydia got out before she stopped focusing on the box holding Mensonge and went to put up a new one surrounding only her. The scowl on her face deepened as she realized that she was now trapped between two people that posed some serious problems, especially since she couldn't just kill them. It seemed like the two of them were being controlled by someone else from the gang

Ollie flinched at the loud blast of lightning. "I don't believe there's anything normal about any of this." He opened his eyes. "There it is! That's the building we are heading for!" At last he could see the base. Worry twisted his insides. He just hoped everyone was alright. --- (Now that I think of it, it's also kind of like How to Train a Dragon. How the Alpha dragon can control the other dragons. Ironic that the culprit's name is Alpha.)
The flashing lightshow blinded him from Lydia's reaction, but he could only assume she had come upon a measure of truth. Mensonge broke through Lydia's box as soon as her focus was turned elsewhere. There was a flash of light, then nothing. He remained invisible to the naked eye. With all the ways Alpha had used Ringo's ability in the last two days, the man's strength was weaning. If he used him too much more, there might be some major repercussions. Of course, Ringo deserved it for betraying him as he did. Twice.
Rosie grinned at Lydia though the wall of her box, her red curly hair soaked with rain. "You're holding back. And for what? You barely know this little girl. Even less this man, who by all means you should hate right now. And yet you hold back- why?"
(Something might be tried next post. :3)

Ash sighed "Think that was easy to tell. But I don't know if you should trust your eyesight just yet. We have no way of knowing if we are still in that weird illusion or not" he said "Are you absolutely certain that the area is the same as you know it?"
Lydia sneered "Someone like you wouldn't understand. I don't kill innocent people and it seems like these two right here are both just people caught in your little game. Besides, I promised the old lady that I wouldn't kill him" she said. Lydia started to walk forward towards Rosie, moving both of the hardlight boxes as she went. Rosie was definitely the more dangerous of the two. She didn't know how well Rosie or the person controlling her could manipulate the weather and Lydia was not going to test it out
(sounds good to me)

"As certain as I can be. Let's see..." Ollie murmured. He closed his eyes. "Yes! I can sense them ahead." His eyebrows furrowed. "There's also someone I don't recognize..." Ollie's eyes flashed open. Static filled the air. Ollie could feel it in his hair and on the back of his neck. There was only an instant to react. Fear filled his heart and he held on tight to Ashton. The atmosphere around them changed. The lightning streaked down, passing through them without harm. Next moment, the lightning was gone and the normal atmosphere returned, heavy with rain. The gathered creatures of the Ashmobile might feel a strange fuzzy moment, a confusion at what just happened. --- "There is no longer any point in keeping a pitiful excuse of a promise. The old lady is dead, and you and your friends weren't able to do a single thing about it. Nothing!" Rosie simply smirked as Lydia drew near. "And I wouldn't worry so much about their part in the game. You should be more worried about your own. Think about your own family for instance. If you're not careful, you never know what might happen." With a bit of focus, someone attuned to the light force might notice that the light in the area had once again shifted. A flash of lightning and a boom of thunder could be heard a short ways away.
(Nope. Not quite yet. We're on the precipice now though, so it can happen at any moment.) (Also, not certain about the family part. It could just be a bluff, or they could have done their research. Whatever works with your character details, and/or your preference.)

(lmao the Ashmobile)
Ash's eyes finally opened as he looked around, he could see Lydia, Mensonge and Rosie all standing a good distance from each other. Suddenly Ash felt the air change as the hair stood up on the back of his neck. He quickly jumped backwards as the lightning hit the ground. "That's it, I don't like this weather controller" he muttered. He turned his head and looked back at Ollie "What's the plan? You want me to charge in there like the wolf I am and if so, who do I attack?" He asked
Lydia shook her head "Like I said, you wouldn't understand. But I'm sure takes a lot of courage to go into an unguarded home and kill an unarmed old woman. You must be really proud of yourself" she said. At the mention of her family, Lydia gritted her teeth "Good luck getting anywhere near them. You wouldn't believe the amount of people who have tried to get back at me by using them. None of them succeeded and you sure as hell won't either." Lydia felt her surroundings slightly shift and she realized what was happening and she glared at Mensonge "There's no point in you trying anything with him. You should already know that I'm the worst matchup for him"
(my guess it's most likely a bluff. The government would have put them into protective custody and done a whole bunch of other stuff to protect them. Unless Alpha got into some top secret government files to figure it out)

(I had to. XD It fit so well.)
Ollie slid from Ash's back, letting out a breath of relief. He didn't know if he'd have been able to do it in time. Thank God for Ash's incredible speed and instinct. "No, we can't go running into this one blindly. There are three people there, but I only sense two. The girl is the weather controller. Her name is Rosie. Even though she's there, I can't feel her presence. The presence there feels the same as the other guy." Whisps of Whisper's memory (from earlier) came back to him. "Ringo. So it's as we thought. The gang has come back for revenge."
Farlow jumped down from Ash's back, landing lightly on the pavement beside Ollie. Finla and Lowen tried to sneak a peek out of Ashton's jacket, trying to see what all the fuss was about.
By all appearance, it seemed they were both intent on Lydia. But something was off. He didn't feel their presence where he saw them. Ollie vanished, entering the forgotten realm. There! He could see the real glow of memories in a place other than where they seemed to stand. Rosie's turquoise memories were drowned out and tainted by other dark memories. Ringo's orange memories were similar. It seemed they were somehow being controlled.
Someone is prodding the connection... It's one of the newcomers.
Ollie reappeared into reality. "Rosie and Ringo are being controlled! We need to find a way to restrain them and their abilities. No killing. And be careful! I think he might-" Lightning flashed again, striking down at the centre of their little group. - (A bluff it is!)
"It's not about courage, my dear. It's just buisiness." It wasn't quite the business he had originally planned, but what kind of boss would he be without using a little improvision? "Heh! You underestimate my abilities, girl. I know you aren't easily fooled by his little tricks any more. You've been getting increasingly better at seeing through his little ploys. Very well done." When the lightning struck again across the street, Mensonge's gaze drifted in that direction. A moment of distraction. A leak of information.
