How about some overdubbed space guitars?
Joe Satriani - Shockwave Supernova: 2.5/5 The guitar work seems to be done really well but I can't really get into the song much. Maybe because I feel a little overwhelmed as there's no points in the song where the guitar isn't loud. It is a guitar-centric track I guess, but I think there show be periods of rest or breaks. Still, its a fun listen.

Jacob Tillberg - Ghosts: 1.5/5 The song isn't really bad or offensive in any sense, but its super bland. It follows the same structure as every other EDM song out there, and I think swing-styled EDM is over saturated too. Out of merit I'd rate it low, but I think its still has a time and place to listen to it.

Steve Vai - "For The Love Of God": 3/5 I'm not really one for long extended guitar solos and such but the overall performance was nice. The intro with the harp REALLY helped with giving a theatrical feel, and the other instruments themselves were fun as an aid to the guitar. In all honesty though I think the background instruments were a little too muted. It might just be down to personal taste anyway.

The Chainsmokers - Push My Luck: 1/5 I already have a bit of a bias against the chainsmokers but the song confirmed most of my attitudes towards them. I genuinely think this is commercialized soulless music that's made for the sake of "trying to be inspirational" or advertisements. The guitars and drums are generic, and the vocals are almost like something off of a bad 2000s boyband. Not to mention, its so repetitive. I generally don't want to just shit on a song or look like a music elitist, but this is literally a cash grab of a song.

The Moody Blues - I'm Just A Singer (In Rock And Roll Band): 4.5/5 I really liked the bass in this song, and the guitar riff at the end was really nice too. I think the vocals are little monotonous sometimes, but that's a issue I take with a lot of songs from that era. Vocals outside of the chorus are very energetic, however. The instrumentation is cool because each instrument gets the spotlight for the most part, and it plays well with the vocals too.

Richard Marx - Hazard: 3.5/5 There's a very distinct "old-timey" sound to this song, which is kind of strange since its only from the 90s (from what I quickly googled). It sounds like something goth out of the 70s, which isn't really a good or bad thing, just an interesting comparison. The instrumentation was minimal but it was nice, although sometimes it did get a little repetitive. I think my favourite part is the strained vocals; there's just a crap ton of emotion at that particular instance.

Hmm. How about this one? Another Moody Blues one, probably their most popular.
Edit: The poem at the end and the gong are separate from the song itself, forgot that was in there. Result of the album being a concept album.

Moody Blues - The Night: 4/5 I enjoyed the singing in this song quite a bit; the way it comes out is really tragic sounding for some reason despite being a relatively happy song. There were some parts of the orchestra that I didn't find too appealing, but it still fit the mood of the song so I can't complain much. I didn't mind the poem part either. (I'm obviously not going to understand the whole story since I need to listen to the whole album, but it was a nice touch nonetheless).

It is a bit of a depressing subject, unrequited love, which was the idea behind the dismal mood. Mike Pinder, who wrote a lot of their melotron/orchestral stuff, was a wizard at that sort of thing. Hmm, what else can I link? I think the live version of this is better, but I say that for just about every song.

this is a musical song but eyyy
Requiem: 3.5/5 Being 100% honest, I feel like the instrumentation is pretty generic, apart from the drums. However I gave it a much higher rating because despite this, the vocals are super strong. Not to mention that I think it uses breaks and spacing really effectively to set a nice atmosphere.

The Brandos - Gunfire at Midnight: 3/5 The vocals in this one don't particularly interest me, but I do like the fact its energetic and moody. I like the funky muted guitar in the background, because it provides a subtle (but imo extremely important) contract against the cowboy-ish guitars. I do think the drums lose clarity during the chorus, but overall they're still good.
