Note: This does not follow the manga or anime in terms of dates and times
The year is 1895, Ciel Phantomhive has disappeared along with his faithful butler Sebastian. However, despite this disappearance, there seems to be a rise in "strange occurrences" around England. Mysterious beings are on the loose, as well as more murderers and thugs than ever before. Strangely enough, many missing children and teenagers have also returned, each with a new companion, a demon they are contracted too. No one knows for sure what has been going on, but one person knows something for certain: nothing is natural or predictable in England. Who is this one person who seems to understand this? Eighteen-year-old Countess Seraphina Dollson, the current owner of Doll's Memories. Two years prior Seraphina had gone missing from the world and her father perished with no cause, but during her mother's funeral, she reappeared with someone strange following her, and announced that she would be taking over the doll shop her parents had so much pride in. These dolls though, are more life-like than they possibly should be for something made out of porcelain, to where many people have claimed that their are souls behind the eyes, to which they wouldn't be entirely wrong.... When her mother was known around England for the ability to make beautiful, life-like dolls, whatever was a daughter with no skills to do, but use actual souls to create the same beautiful, life-like appearance? It also helped that she now has a demon on her side, and she took over for the missing Earl as the Queen's Guard Dog. My character: Countess Seraphina Dollson *Nightwhisper : (Demon Maid) Scarlet Penn Genre: Mystery, fantasy, action Contract location: Inside of the wrist

(Alright XD I'm probably going to mostly use the original one from when I first did this with some minor tweaks.)
Walking down the streets of England always seems like a boring time, especially when doing it with a maid; but for some people, it is a reminder than you are still alive. With raven colored hair that fell down her waist, tints of silver and what appeared to be blue making her hair shine, and bright silvery blue eyes, you'd think nothing of this simple girl in her fancy gown of silver and crimson with silk white elbow length gloves. She walked with a grace and confidence that told all that she feared little, and wouldn't hesitate to order someone's death in front of her. This strange girl was known as Serephina Dollson of Doll's Memories. At the age of sixteen, Miss Dollson had been engaged to a young man in the furniture business, but she was not interested in him, or anyone in particular. A year later though, when they were out trying to get to know each other, their carriage was attacked, and Seraphina Dollson went missing, her fiancee was announced dead at the scene. Mr. and Mrs. Dollson worried greatly for their seventeen year old daughter, but no word ever came about her, she was just, gone. Within those years, the Dollson line seemed to die with the death of her parents, but at the funeral for her mother two years after that, Seraphina Dollson reappeared out of the blue. She grieved for no one and promised the company would not fail because many young children loved the dolls they created, boys and girls alike. She returned to an empty home with many servants, but there was one that had mysteriously appeared with her, a maid. No one questioned it, no one got the chance to, for this was a demon maid, so no one ever really understood, but it was soon forgotten as Dollson Dolls flourished once again under the careful care of Seraphina.
Sighing softly, Seraphina glanced around the streets of England, her home, and her torment. She knew not where she was going exactly, only that she was walking around to enjoy a pleasant evening. Occasionally she would spot a group of children, one or more of them carrying a child's doll, one she knew was from her company. Sometimes the doll was an older model, one she recognized as the work of her mother, and sometimes it was a newer model, one of her own creations. "Scarlet, please make note that it appears as though the blonde hair models are seeming to be popular among the younger crowds." She said with a soft voice, one that many often mistakes as that belonging to a child. "Hopefully the Queen will give us a decent model to work with upon her next request." She added, thinking about it.

Taking orders had never been one of Scarlet's specialties. And yet, time after time, she found herself contracted to a human with more than enough air in their lungs to command an entire army. Men hungry for power and fame, willing to do whatever it takes to gain what they deem most precious to them. If only they knew the price of everything was much too expensive for them. Maybe it was the fact that she never let them enjoy the prize in which they seek. For whenever they acquire their wish, she would take her payment, leaving them with little to no time to enjoy what they sacrificed so much for.
So imagine her own surprise when the demon found herself summoned and bound to a girl, no older than a child. Perhaps it was the break of routine that drew her to accept this request. Or maybe it was her own curiosity. Whatever the reason, she was here now, playing the role of the girl's loyal maid. It was quite a tame character compared to her past experiences, and perhaps more entertaining. For this part she played, Scarlet amused herself with taking on an appearance that wasn't so unnoticeable. Her skin was pale, almost startling so, and no matter how long she stayed in the sun, it would never change in tone. Vibrate red hair hangs around her shoulders in neat curls, framing her perfectly round face. Her eyes a clear and shining emerald green. The woman's build was small and thin, as if she might blow away in the wind. Not the kind of person who might spend her days preforming a maids duties. With her new master the sole owner of a doll manufacturers, she saw it only as fitting if she herself took on the appearance that was more sculpted, more delicate. It caused for a lot of attention on days like today, but when has she never enjoyed attention.
"As you wish, m'lady," she replied, her voice light and sweet. Only another part of her act. For a face such as one she had created deserves to have a voice to match. "I assume that the next few that we will be making will all be blonde then?" Her time with Seraphina was interesting to say the least. The girl didn't seem to be after anything at the moment. No power, no fame. She genuinely tried to do her best continuing the business that her parents had created and maintained. Yet Scarlet knew better than to think this young girl held no desires for her future. She might not know what she was after yet, but in due time, her goals and end result will become clear to both of them.

(It might take me a minute to read, but it's fine XD)
Seraphina hummed softly as she strolled down the street, watching the carriages on the road take people to different places. She watched the different faces and appearances of the people that they moved past, as if she was analyzing them, plotting something that was likely less than desirable for them. Her fingers twitched to return to her workshop, to craft a new doll to place on the shelves of the stores around England, but alas, she did not have the main component she needed as of yet. For now, her only desire was to create dolls to rival those that her mother made, though her own methods of creating them, were something that her mother would frown upon.
"I do believe so. If sales drop, then we will pursue a new appearance, one that may soothe the savage beast that is the children of this place." She explained, thinking about it. After some time walking, she came to a stop in front of a store front, which belonged to her own company. She looked through the window to see her own reflection staring back at her, asking her why she went about such a gruesome method to create her dolls, and yet her only answer was always the same. I do not have the talent that my mother possessed, so to mirror their image, I must create my own method, no matter what the cost or pain is.
Beyond the reflection that questioned her so, she stared at the newest addition to her collection. This doll was that of a young maiden with long cocoa colored hair that fell to the table, bright brown eyes staring into nothing. She wore a delicate white and blue dress, and her skin was that of a typical porcelain ivory. Seraphina smiled lightly, remembering the person that had been the 'inspiration' for said piece. A murdered a few towns over, his cocoa colored hair had been cut short, but the color was so perfect, his brown eyes wide as he begged to be released. She could still hear him crying and begging, even as his life was placed into that of a female doll.
"I wish her majesty would give us more female models to use..." She mumbled under her breath, watching as a woman bought one of the dolls that was produced by her mother.

(Are you sure? I don't want it to have trouble reading it. I was bored and just playing around with the fonts, so I can do without it.
And I apologize if my replies might be short. I'm trying to make them as long as I can, but I'm also kind of tired at the moment.)
Scarlet watched Seraphine as she studied the dolls inside the store front. She was something else. Most girls her age would be shopping for cute dresses or worrying about which young gentleman would become their future husband. Not Seraphine. Over the passed year that they had been running the business, she had given herself fully to her work. If her young master had any friends to go out and spend days with, the woman had yet to learn of them. She seemed to take more enjoyment creating the next doll than making social calls. It caused her to have to rethink her strategy in caring for her new master. The woman had been prepared studied and learned everything about the trends the girls Seraphine's age were into, ready to become a friend or "motherly" figure. However, that was not needed. Instead, she was needed for other things.
"Perhaps I can place in a request for some more models," Scarlet offered. The Queen didn't give them many new models to work from often. So they had to use old references to create different variations of the same dolls. None of the copies were never as good as the originals. "Or maybe I can go get a few for you. I'm sure it'll be easy to find a few to fit our purposes."

(It's fine XD) (Don't worry about it. To be honestly, I normally rp one to two liners, sometimes a paragraph. So this short is actually pretty long to me)
Seraphina glanced at Scarlet before sighing softly, "No, I promised her I wouldn't take anymore random models after that missing person incident last year." She muttered, remembering the last time they had done so. The woman had been beautiful, her light colored hair and dark eyes simply that of myth, and she had been wearing clothes that fit a beggar's wardrobe. Little did Seraphina know that the girl had been a runaway from a noble family.
She turned away from the store and started down the street again, her eyes on the mansion that was just outside the side, where she lived. Well, it was smaller than most houses that belonged to Earls, she had fought to keep the property, to keep her servants and her home. Being the only child of the family, and a woman, it was more appropriate that she should marry into another house, but she had refused to do so. It was not a pretty sight to watch the noblemen fight over the issue. She promised she would show them though, that even a woman her age could run an entire company, and so she had done so. She lost contact with any friends she had as a child, and devoted her entire being into what she did, both as a doll maker, and as the Queen's new Guard dog.
"Oh yes, that reminds me. Before you go requesting for another mystery to be a solved and a new model to come with, have you heard from Mister Jonas? That slimy man should have been in contact by now with reports of the last case we finished." She said, thinking about the dealer. He wasn't a pleasant man to deal with, and he certainly wasn't in good businesses, but he was good at keeping secrets, and hiding what needed to be hidden.

"Ah, yes, I guess I shouldn't have been as careless with the model," Scarlet mused, a soft smile touching her lips. It had been so easy to gain that girl's trust. Scared and clueless as she was, the offer of food and a place to stay the night had seemed like salvation to her at that point. As satisfying as the end result for the doll had been, the mess she had to clean up afterwards had been a pain. All the false leads and pestering family members of the missing noble lady had taken weeks of her time. Then there was the Queen. She had not been happy when she learned of their doings. If they wished to keep the doll factory going, then they would have to make sure that little scene was never caused again.
Her smile faded, however, at the mention of Jonas. The man was less than desirably to deal with, but he was good with keeping things to himself. "I was just thinking about paying him a little visit," the woman replied, easily matching Seraphine's pace. Jonas hated seeing her. Maybe it was because of her doll like appearance, or maybe because her actual nature wasn't as sweet as she portrayal. "Do you think you'll be fine the rest of the way home until I return?"

Seraphina glanced over at her and smiled lightly, "I believe I will be fine Scarlet. If you wish, on your way stop by the house and have Mira meet me on the way." She said, unbothered by Scarlet's plans to meet with Mister Jonas. Really, anything the demon did seemed to fail at fazing the young woman, her silvery blue eyes keeping to the path in front of her. "Try not to scare him to much. While he is an unpleasant man, he still has some uses being alive. There is only one use for him in death." She said, clasping her hands together in front of her, thinking about it. She had several designs already mapped out for the day when Mister Jonas was no longer of use to her, though she had yet to decide which one she liked the most.
Her thoughts then strayed again, thinking about something she had been told while Scarlet was with the other butlers and maids of other noblemen. It had been a meeting just a week ago, and they had been discussing usual noble banter that Seraphina did not care to listen too. One comment had peeked her interest though, and not in a good way. One of the noble had suggested holding a party, a usual get together for nobles all around, but he had specifically suggested the party being held at the Dollson residence. Seraphina had protested, claiming she was far to busy with work to hold such an annoying event. Then she got the lecture about working to hard for a woman, and she nearly threw a newly filled teacup at the noble's head.

"Of course, m'lady," Scarlet agreed. "I will simply talk with him, and nothing more." A smirk curled her lips upward. To Jonas, even just speaking was enough to terrify him. He couldn't even look at her even if she didn't say anything. A part of her wondered if he knew what she was, or if the man was simply paranoid. Either way, it made for both an amusing and frustrating time whenever she had to go speak with him. "I will have Mira meet you a block from the house. If you run into trouble, just call." And with those words, Scarlet melted in with the crowd, disappearing from sight.
Being a demon was so convenient. In a matter of seconds, she was standing on the front steps of Dollson Manor, speaking to the footman who answered the door. She quickly requested the assistance of Mira, one of the older maids who had been around before her employment, and told of where she was to meet the young mistress. As soon as the man had turned to fetch the woman, she was gone again, this time traveling through the shadows to the residence of Mister Jonas.

Seraphina watched Scarlet go, interested in the way that she simply disappeared into the crowd without anyone noticing her to be there. "I shall never understand you demons." She muttered softly, shaking her head as she continued on her walk down the road. She continued to think about this party she was suppose to host, to which she didn't even know how to begin. She remembered a couple parties and balls her parents had hosted in the past, but that didn't mean she paid attention to the prep work.
Mister Michael Jonas was busy working in his office at his small townhome. This was only one of his residences, considering her worked in many places, this is where he stayed when he was working in England. Currently, he was yelling at one of his butlers, who had apparently overbooked him for different jobs.

Jonas sighed softly as he looked at one of the maids, who informed him of the visitor, but did not tell him who it was. He glared in annoyance before he started out of his office, occasionally snapping at an employee or two for something they did or didn't do. "Look, I don't have time for any complaints right now..." He started to say before he walked into the room, his voice booming with a more Scottish accent. When he stepped into the room though, and finally spotted Scarlet, he stopped and stared, before looking around nervously. "Y-Your Lady isn't with you today?" He asked, walking further into the room, but seeming to also avoid Scarlet at the same time, shaking his head as he tried to clear it. "And what do I owe the pleasure of your visit too?"

Scarlet waited just inside the door, listening to the activity throughout the house. When Jonas arrived, she smiled at the man. "Good evening, Mister Jonas," she greeted. While her tone was pleasant, is was unnervingly so. "No, I'm afraid Lady Seraphina had other things to attend to. However, she sent me in her stead. You see, she's growing concerned that there might have been a problem with the last case she solved. You haven't sent her the reports, so she was worried that there might be something wrong. Is something wrong, Mister Jonas?"
The entire time she spoke, Scarlet's eyes never left his. She noticed the way he kept plenty of distance between them, and it took every ounce of her self control not to step closer to the man just to see his reaction. From what she had learned of him, he wasn't a very nice man. While he never mistreated his servants, he certainly wasn't friendly with them. His work ethics were lacking, but at least he had enough sense to know when certain bits of information should be kept hidden and when they should be spoken. He was also easily spooked, which might have been the only reason why the demon hadn't gotten rid of him. That, and Seraphina had already made it clear she had other plans for Jonas. He was just the perfect mouse for her to play with until his time came.

"Ah no, my butlers simply made a mistake and over booked me, that is all." Jonas said, running a hand through his short cut, greasy blonde hair. He looked around before walking over to a maid and started talking with her quietly about the files. "My apologies to the Lady about her files. I know I sent them out just the other day. Give me a few minutes to track down who I sent them with." He said, disappearing down the hall, his voice booming at different servants.
One of the maids walked over to Scarlet and bowed her head, "I'm sorry about all this Miss Penn. As of recent, many of Master Jonas's files have been reported missing. You are not the only one who has come her to complain about it in the last month or so." She explained, looking back towards where he had disappeared.

Scarlet only watched as the man all but frantically left the room in search for the files. Once more, his voice ringing through the halls. "Perhaps if he was a bit gentler in tone, the butlers might be more careful with his paperwork," she mused, yet the news intrigued her. She shifted her gaze to the maid who was speaking with her. "How have they gone missing? Do you think someone stole them, or does he simply lack the ability to remember where he last left them?"
Scarlet might be polite in front of nobles and people she does business with, but she had no trouble low key insulting them with their backs turned. Especially when about people like Jonas who made it all too easy for her to think of jibes to the man's ego or reputation. However, along with the insult of his memory, the woman was curious about the missing files. This was the first time she had heard of about Jonas losing files. For all he was worth, he had a way of keeping his files organized and always sent them out on time.

"Oh no Ma'am! We would know if he was simply misplacing them, as he often misplaces his keys and hat." The maid said, her eyes wide as she looked at Scarlet. She glanced around quickly, as if afraid of someone hearing what she was saying. "We suspect someone has been taking them for unknown reasons. We don't know who yet, but there has been speculation that it is one of the other maid or butlers, likely one of the new hires." She explained, seeming nervous about this conversation. When she spotted Jonas, she stepped back to where she had originally been.
"I must apologize Miss Penn, it appears though the files have been misplaced during transit. If you give me about two days time, I will have the file rewritten and transport them myself if I must." Jonas said, rubbing the back of his head as he looked around the main room. He seemed pretty calm about the files being missing, but then again, it wouldn't be a surprise that he may want to keep such information to himself. If it was an inside job, he'd deal with it himself, as it was known he wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty.

Scarlet took the information and filed it away. Of course, there may be a perfectly good reason for the files disappearance and the culprit caught, but it was still an odd enough occurrence that she felt it would be good to remember. When Jonas returned, her attention focused on him. She studied his demeanor, the way he spoke, walked, and all the other little signals he gave. He was obviously trying to keep the topic of conversation away from what might have really happened to the files. "I shall hold you to your words, Mister Jonas. My lady is nothing if not considerate, but she does have a busy schedule, as you might be familiar with. I will check in again if they go missing a second time."

Jonas nodded to that reply, "I understand well about busy schedules," he said, looking back up at Scarlet as he spoke. He turned away from her and started to walk away, thinking about something. "Worry not, everything will be back to the way they were shortly. Now if you will excuse me, I have other business I must attend too before the day ends." Jonas said, distracted by something, though what he was distracted by it was hard to tell. He was a many of many hobbies and businesses, always into something and everything. While most days he was just an information broker, Seraphina often only used him for the, darker, sides of manners.

(Yep) (Dang it....My computer crashed and I lost my post...)
Seraphina sighed softly, sitting in the dining room of her home. Sitting at the head of the table, she leaned back in her chair with a newspaper in hand, reading the local new for the day as she usually did. In finding nothing of interest or importance, she set the paper down and looked around at the room, where she could see the many maids and butlers hard at work keeping the place nice and clean. Thinking further, she sighed heavily, "How did mother and father hold such events? The mansion appears so small compared to most..." she muttered to herself, shaking her head.

(yeah...I was hoping it saved in drafts, but nope! It just went poof! Not the worse time it has happened, but because two of my keys are broken, it takes twice as long to type a single sentence.)
Seraphina appeared unfazed by Scarlet's sudden appearance beside her, instead only tilted her head to look up at her. "It helps that they probably weren't as pressured to hold these bloody events." She said, tilting her head back and closing her eyes to think about what to do. She could continue to push this event back until those irritating nobles forgot about it, as she had been doing for the last several months. Then she thought about the surprised looks on their faces, wiping away the smug grins they always had on their stupid faces when they were proven right about her incompetence as a noble. She hated that look on their faces, the ugly men that thought they ruled the world, when in fact their leader continued to be a woman to this very day.
Without warning, Seraphina pushed his chair back from the table and stood up, her hands slamming into the table that she had been standing out. This action, though not uncommon, still startled many of the already startled servants, who went from staring at Scarlet to staring at their master. "I will not be looked down upon as some incompetent fool who doesn't know her place! We will put all those mutts in their places and show them what a woman can do!" She said, her silvery blue eyes cold, her gloved hands curled into fists against the table she sat at. Turning abruptly, she started out of the room towards her office, "Mira! Get me all of mother and father's old files for event hosting and take them to my office. Scarlet, outside of jobs for Her Majesty, clear my schedule for the rest of the week." She added.

(I wish posts would save in drafts, but alas, they don't.)
"Yes, m'lady," Scarlet replied with a small smile. Such fire did her new master have. She never failed to amused the demon. Seraphina was never one for social interactions, mainly because all her time was taken by work for the company and jobs for the Queen. Now she was given the task of hosting a social event, and she was treating it as if it were a challenge or competition, like she had a point to prove. This certainly was going to be an interesting time.
"You heard the mistress," Scarlet said, turning to the stunned servants of the room. "I expect all the rooms to be spotless. It will do our young Lady no good if her guests are welcomed in a filthy manor. I suggest you all start immediately." She gave a sharp clap with her hands, which seemed to pull the other butlers and maids out of their surprised states. They all quickly returned to their work with a new vigor. Satisfied, Scarlet left the room to follow Seraphina.
