fogstar & otterstrike .. stormclan camp
Silently, Fogstar glanced over to look at her deputy as he spoke. She merely blinked at him before turning to gaze out over the group below.
They were....smaller than she had expected.
Most of them were quite lean with no bulk- not that all the cats in her own Clan were bulky, but that they at least had some more than the cats below her. Some were a bit weary- from traveling for the day or just through her territory?- and many looked wary of the cats around them. The calico's eyes narrowed. They might not look anything like the rouges that had attacked but she could take no chances. Her posture changed to something vaguely threatening- her eyes zeroing in on the leader carefully. However lean, any of those cats could potentially kill any of their own.
Too many StormClan cats had lost relatives in the battle a few moons ago. She had lost her own sister.
"You should have noticed when you crossed our borders," she said with a tilt of her head, eyes sharp but jaded. "You could have easily gone around and left my Clan alone." It held a clear note of warning, a clear boundary- say something wrong and they'd be escorted out or attacked immediately. She gracefully bounded down onto the floor- ignoring the ache in her shoulder as she landed in favor of looking strong. Fogstar had to be strong for her Clan.
"Fogstar," a cat murmured, softly- she turned her head to see Otterstrike, their medicine cat, walk up to look at the group and back to her before speaking too quietly for anyone else to hear. "I don't think it would be wise to show too much hostility to them. Other than the fact that they don't look at their best and they're protecting young ones, StarClan has been sending me dreams lately- ones that point to hospitality being the answer, to aid them for at least a few moons." At Fogstar's skepticism she sighed and dipped her head. "I know that they do seem dangerous, but.....ignoring StarClan could lead to a bad fate for StormClan," she murmured softly. "A desert needs rain just as much as the forest does."
Fogstar looked at her for a long moment before nodding, waiting until Otterstrike retreated to turn back to the she-cat and frown. "It does not....seem like your group is at its best," she said, making some members of her Clan turn to murmur- what was she doing? Her look silenced most of the whispers. Her judgement was looked up to- they knew she had a reason for extending a tentative branch at friendship, even if they didn't know what it was. They would trust in her. "Tell me, Teller of Changing Dunes...what is your reason for traveling? And what is your hardship?" She spotted a cat that looked to be a young warrior or an old apprentice by the leader's side- a small ginger and white tom that looked wary and curious at the same time. Fogstar said nothing about it but dipped her head ever so slightly to him- making the cat blink in surprise but saying nothing.
She would wait.

⌜ Dune && Owlstrike⌟ dusk ⎜ stormclan camp
Dune gazed around the suddenly swarming camp, seeing all the different shapes and colors of the cats. They were all so.. unique. However, the closer she looked, she noticed some similarities. A few cats looked like one another, whether it be the shape of their face or their body style. However, the girl snapped out of her little daze as she heard the sudden scold from their leader. Carefully the she flattened her ears out of embarrassment, knowing but having not even a care in the world for it. She should have taken Crickets advice for the boarder thing.
Carefully, she dipped her head to the female, her tail waving, telling her comrades to relax a bit. They didn't need to worry, she was here to protect them. "Our tribe has always traveled. Our old Teller had moved our tribe due to some.. issues. That was when I was young and only just learning about becoming the Teller. I learned about new herbs and healing along our journey. We settled down, but after that taste of traveling, we all wanted to go again. When the last Teller died, I took over his place, and we began to travel again. We settle under the stars, we love the feeling. It's our life. We're a small group, kits grow up with the love of it." She purred, wrapping her tail over the back of her to be. "We're a close knit tribe. The Tribe of Windswept Sands. We're close, we're family," she murmured. "You know me by the name of Dune. This here, this is Bloom of Quiet Lily, my to-be." She said gently, giving the small ginger and white tom and gentle look. "My cats will give their introductions in time." She dipped her head again, respectful.
"As that brown cat mentioned, your name is Fogstar correct? Well, Fogstar. We simply are passing through: we will leave your camp if you would like, but my cats are exhausted." She murmured, she'd noticed how the smaller to-be's had been much slower. Cricket gazed up at Dune, a hopeful glint in his eyes. He had wrapped his tail around a to-be who had seemed to be falling asleep. Little Fox had always been sleepy.
- - Owlstrike looked over at Otterstrike and Fogstar, a worried glint in his eyes. However, if his leader had agreed to it, then maybe it wouldn't be so bad. His tail curled over his paws carefully, having heard what Otterstrike said. How would StormClan fare? Whatever. Everything would be okay, right?

fogstar & kestrelheart .. stormclan camp
Fogstar observed as the she-cat spoke. She seemed chatty- not in a bad way, but....going on sometimes when it was unneeded. The calico was to-the-point often or kept her words shorter than most of the others in StormClan, but still got just as much meaning across. Her ear flicked impatiently, the only sign of any negativity on her. Otherwise she was calm and composed- the leader that she had become, even if it wasn't what she had thought she would be.
Over the moons and moons from an apprentice to a leader, her words became more reserved. She wasn't the optimistic Fogpaw, the happy Fogsplash. She never would be.
Her eyes drifted back to the apprentices in their group- to-bes, it seemed. The one next to Dune she had noticed earlier- Bloom of Quiet Lily, her old apprentice- much older than the littler ones that were also in the group. Perhaps they chose the next leader from their apprentices- terribly flawed, but interesting.
Ah.
Finally, the unspoken question- could they stay for a while? Some of the younger cats and their warriors looked like they couldn't even get out of their territory if they wanted to now, even with a guide. Fogstar's head dipped, causing another ripple of murmurs from her Clan as she spoke with a measured tone. "You may stay however long you need if you agree to help with hunting and if you eventually leave. We have enough space for the cats in your group to go to the warrior's and apprentice's dens- what I assume is similar to your tribe cats and to-bes- you may sleep in my den or in the warrior's den."
After that last bit, a particularly hotheaded cat spoke up, not deterred by Fogstar's warning look. "Fogstar, you- letting them stay is one thing, but accepting their leader into your den? That is an honor she does not deserve, only a mate-"
"Will you continue to speak or will you be wise and stay quiet?" Her glare and sharp words were enough to shut them up. "Kestrelheart, she is a fellow leader and deserves the same privileges as one from StormClan. My den is large enough. Do not speak more on this subject."
Silence held for a long moment as she looked around before signaling out a few cats. "Tansypath, guide the tribe cats to the warrior's den. Cranepaw, Antpaw, accompany their to-bes to your den." She glanced over at Bloom. "You can go into either den," she murmured just soft enough for Dune and Bloom to hear, seeing the tom bow just a bit before following Tansypath.
"StormClan is dismissed. If you have any issues, see me or Owlstrike tomorrow after the morning patrols are sent out. Not the dawn." As the cats dispersed, she sat down with a sigh and nodded to Dune wordlessly- she could either go or stay. It was her choice.
