-- i'm fine doing things with canon characters, although i haven't read the books in a while- but i do know the important things. PoT is my rustiest arc along with early OotS, and i haven't read past the Sun Trail, but i can do most anything from the first, second, and fourth arcs. it can be anything from a canon divergence to a slight au to a different clan being the focus- i'm fine with anything you can think of!
i have a few vague ideas with canon stuff that can be built on:
-windclan never coming back after shadowclan drove them out in the early first arc- maybe becoming a wandering clan?
-rusty/firestar never goes to the clans and changes them
-some of the good/bad set are flipped- bluestar's evil, tigerclaw's good, stuff like that
-ivypaw/pool joins the dark forest for good
-give some ideas!
-- in some region where twolegs don't exist- a different universe, or just someplace that twolegs very rarely go- cats have settled down to stay. there are severe storms / something else that leaves the area dangerous, but the cats have learned to thrive somehow even though it's a hotspot for those natural happenings. the area can be whatever- mountains and a valley, or a grassland, or a large series of hills or a delta or something- but two clans who live there are suddenly fighting because one of the clans had their leader and deputy murdered. it can go a lot of ways from there but we can figure that out after this is chosen or whatever
-- in one set of clans, they have warriors that are raised above the rest but won't ever be the deputy or leader (a mainly tactical position for them, aside from being a figurehead and also general guidance) called by titles the leader gifted to them, like how gray wing was dubbed 'graywing the wise' in battles of the clans for his battle plans and such. each clan usually has two or three at a time, and they constantly are required to lend their skills because of the constant skirmishes and tension. upset with the constant pressure, one leaves to find a solitary life a short distance away, and the clans all try to lure them to their own clans
-- tribes are small and nomadic, wandering the land. in a time of weakness, they encounter a clan- one either sympathetic or aggressive towards them. either way, an rp can be made from this- romance? drama? something else?
-- perhaps a starclan and a dark forest cat are reincarnated to stop a potential conflict / start one respectively, and they're very, very close to eachother- but don't know the other one is a reincarnation. while one is trying to start conflict, the other is panicked while trying to stop one in advance- it could go many, many different ways.
