[Don't sweat it! I'm just happy people are showing interest in anything I do at all.] ( o: why wouldn't it? ) [Most of the fanClan threads I create die within a few weeks or months of my posting, either that or they get so that there's only like 2 active people in them and activity permanently slows to a painful crawl.]

[Then again, that might turn out to be wrong. Who knows, really.]
The tortoiseshell nodded, letting out a pleased hum. "I would say you did a good job." Cedarnose wasn't one for praise, and truth be told most of what he said (in a non-malicious manner, that was) was simply empty, false words and nothing more, but why bother to dampen her self-esteem? Honeypaw was only a child. Save it for someone who was worth it. Lifting a paw with odd grace, he scratched at a long ear. "It seems as though it would be a good idea to eat," he stated, and excused himself, brushing past Honeypaw and slipping from the den; not to mention winking cruelly at Brokentalon as he passed through the entrance.

(True, true)
Honeypaw beams now, smiling widely and giving a nod. Maybe the words were empty but she didn't catch that, as far as she's concerned she did a good job. "Oh! Do you need me to-" She cuts herself off when he brushes against her and she's caught a little off guard. Her head tilts a bit before her attention is on Lizardfang, hesitantly going over to him and pressing her nose to the top of his head. "Lizardfang? Are you alright?" She asks him, sounding concerned.
Brokentalon tenses at the sight of Cedernose, then his eyes widen at the wink. Did he, was that, did that just happen? What did it mean? Probably something rude, but it throws the older tom off and a million questions race through his head. He frowns more and stays where he is, just watching the other tom.

The chimera blinks slowly, and it takes him what seems like forever to come back to something even remotely resembling reality. "Fine. I'm fine," his speech is oddly slow, slurred even. Lizardfang shakes himself. Had he even known that Honeypaw entered the den in the first place? "No need to worry about me. It's good."
~~~~~
Well, rude or flirtatious. Or both. More than likely both, knowing Cedarnose. Truthfully, he wasn't hungry in the least; but might as well at least attempt to eat something before the eventual massive calorie burn. He'd noticed that he hadn't been eating much as of recent. Just another thing to harken him to his father, he supposed. Not that he knew the faux tortoiseshell all that well, but Duncan had seemed to be of a similar sort. Perhaps a little less awful, or at least he was trying to be. Making a big show of sniffing around the heap, Cedarnose hastily picked a scrawny bird from the pile, sitting down with the prey still in his jaws as he thought.
"No," he manages to croak out. "Not worth it, there's other things that a cat could be doing. Don't think this can be fixed, anyways." And that was that. Lizardfang began to stand, shaking all the while. He had to lean on the wall behind him to stabilize himself. The Chausie mix managed to smile weakly. "Guess I, uhh, should take that as a sign to get out more," he joked halfheartedly, and hesitantly moved forward a few paces so that he was sitting near the entrance of the den (but not too close to Brokentalon).
He eyes the tabby in return, but chooses to do nothing about it for a fairly long time. And then he gets up all of a sudden, making his way over to Brokentalon only to drop the bird at his feet. "May as well put that in the hands of someone who will do something other than stare at it for hours on end and pretend to be interested in consuming it," Cedarnose said simply, and once again walked off, heading outside the camp's entrance.
Dustypaw's eyes widened in surprise, and the apprentice dropped to the ground and dove forward under the warrior. He lashed out upwards, and kicked with his back paws to stand up from underneath her and throw her off balance. "This is the plan." Shadowbrook said, lowering her voice. "I'll disrupt them and try to send one towards you. When it gets close enough, you need to grab a hold of it and kill it alright? The scent's rather strong, which means there's probably more than one of them. You grab that one and then I'll try and go after the other. Understood?" The dark-furred warrior explained to her, her tail motioning along with her words. Aspentrail yelped in surprise as Dustpaw kicked her off balance. She landed low to the ground - the easiest position to recover from - and kept in the crouch, tail flicking. Softpaw listened to her mentor very closely, nodding along. "I understand," she meowed, her paws itching to do some hunting.
(RIP ME I FELL ASLEEP) Honeypaw frowns even more, hating to see the old tomcat struggling so much. When he begins to go to the entrance she's at his side in an instant, helping him walk by pressing against him. As he sits down, she moves away still looking very concerned. "Feel better, Lizardfang." She dips her head to him, and then Brokentalon before padding off and going to get something to eat. Brokentalon tenses when the tortoiseshell approaches him, waiting for any kind of retort when the other just drops the bird and then leaves. The old tabby looks confused. What was happening? He stares down at the bird for a long time, mumbling a thanks before Cedernose is out of ear shot and slowly begins to eat. He sighs softly as she leans against him, murmuring a quiet 'thank you' at the gesture. Perhaps he'd lay down...then again, it would just be a pain to try and get up later so he wasn't trampled, so there was that. "I'll try," the patched cat said softly, and quietly watched Honeypaw leave the den.
Dustypaw rolled over as he got farther away from his mentor, the apprentice springing to his feet and grinning at his mentor. He kept in a defensive position in case she made a move, and kept himself farther away from the warrior. "How was that?" He asked Aspentrail, backing up slowly.
Shadowbrook nodded, "Be ready." She told her quietly, before the black cat slipped forward silently. She blended in well with what shade there was, climbing over a root as she circled her way around where the rabbits were. There was little breeze in the area luckily for them, meaning the rabbits most likely didn't scent them quite yet. The warrior crept forward, as she came to a stop several fox-lengths behind the hares. Her eyes flicked towards her apprentice, but the trees and ferns blocked her view. She hoped that Softpaw was ready... Shadowbrook drew back, scrunching and rising her spine before charging noisily forward at the rabbits. She quickly focused on one, and began chasing it towards Softpaw.
Stonepaw flicked her tail back and forth, now bored. Her fur was smooth and shiny in the sunlight, and her mentor still didn't seem to be around anywhere. The apprentice huffed and got to her feet, padding towards the fresh-kill pile to get something to eat. She dipped her head toward's Squirrelflame as she passed by the bright-colored tom.
Squirrelflame smirked at the apprentice, flicking his tail upwards in a wave and greeting. "Morning, Stonepaw." He meowed, licking at one of his pawpads.
"Good Morning Squirrelflame," She replied cautiously. There had never been a problem specifically between her and the vain warrior, but he tended to be arrogant and irritating.
Ya sure I've got Stonepaw and Squirrelflame in camp, so you can talk to either one of them c:) "Beautiful day outside, right?" Squirrelflame brought up, acting casual. The tom's eyes were sparkling in the sunshine, and there was something mischevious in it... Stonepaw didn't trust it. "Ya..." She said slowly, turning to look at the fresh-kill pile. "I bet it reminds you of someone," He grinned wide, radiating mischief and arrogance. Stonepaw raised her head, squinting at the tom. "And that would b-" "Me! Don't pretend you didn't notice it," Squirrelflame squawked, eyes going wider in surprise that she hadn't said it originally. "Right..." Stonepaw said sarcastically, grabbing a mouse from the pile. "Shouldn't you make sure the elders and queens ate?" The red-furred tom said, eyes narrowing as he looked at her. The tom seemed more annoyed now, picking up on her sarcasm. "I'm sure they did." She replied, taking her mouse away from the pile to eat. Squirrelflame shook his head, "No wonder you can't recognize greatness when you see it. You don't even put in enough effort to your duties, how could you possibly focus on beauty? Though I thought mine shone no matter what..." He finished in a grumble, before scoffing and the tom walked away. Stonepaw rolled her eyes, glad the vain-cat had wandered off. She sat down near the edge of camp, eating her mouse quickly.
"After that? You can have my mouse," Stonepaw said with a grin, sliding the prey slightly closer to share with Honeypaw if she wanted. She moved her tail a little out of the way so that Honeypaw had more room to sit. "Is it just me, or has Squirrelflame got even worse about his looks since he became a warrior?"
Squirrelflame curled his lip, turning completely away from them with a humph. Once he felt he was far enough way, he began to systematically search through his fur for what Honeypaw had said.
Im gonna sayyy Squirrelflame is probably a younger warrior. And Stonepaw is close to becoming a warrior. Im not exactly sure how old they'd need to be for that so XD)
"Definitely. I remember one time he almost made Shadowbrook fall asleep because he wouldn't stop talking about himself. She got so annoyed, she made him clean the elders den completely three days in a row. Atleast now she has Softpaw for an apprentice." Stonepaw laughed. Squirrelflame had been an apprentice with her for a while, made a warrior a few moons ago. Shadowbrook had gotten a new apprentice quickly after her last ones, maybe as a reward to her for dealing so long with Squirrelflame. "Somehow I feel like he's only gotten worse since then though."
[I've personally always thought that most apprentices became warriors at around 24 months at the very least, though a lot of people are saying that 12 months seems to be a better age 'cause it would take less time or something. So I dunno really.]
