"2." Squirrelflame replied chirpily, and lined himself up with the she-cat. The russet furred warrior's tail flicked back and forth as he stared ahead, planning his route quickly.
Dustypaw ate quickly, relieved to be finished training. Now he just wanted to lay around and sleep all night long.
Shadowbrook watched her apprentice enter the den, before turning with a shake of her head to the fresh-kill pile. She sniffed at the different prey, before choosing a raven and settling in the camp somewhere to eat.

Aspentrail knew Dustpaw wanted to sleep, but she had other plans. She would let him drift off, but around moonhigh would wake him back up again.
Softpaw had already begun to think of a plan to sneak out and watch the twolegs. Around moonhigh she would slip out the dirtplace....

"You're welcome," he said in return. The words sounded a bit stilted coming from his mouth. Snowstar wasn't all that used to anyone personally thanking him for his deeds, though admittedly he didn't much care to pay attention to the overall feelings of others in the first place. The tabby was quiet for a while longer, then he decided to break the silence. "Woodland prey often has an interesting flavor to it, different than river or mountain but pleasant all the same." Roxy licked her whiskers then started to groom her own fur in their shared moment of silence. When he speaks up again she raises her head and gives a small smile, parts of her fur sticking up in the back because she hadn't finished grooming but she was oblivious to this. "I don't think I've ever been up in the mountains, nor do I hang around the river often." She recalls the too many times of her attempts at catching a fish only to then fall into the water herself, almost getting swept up under the currents. It leaves a frown on her face and she gives a shudder, shaking the thought away before she looks back up to Snowstar. [And for some reason, logging into this site has completely removed my AdBlock extension from Chrome. What even. Why.] Snowstar paused a few moments to scratch one of his long ears with a paw. "If anything, I do not think I would choose to live in the mountains by choice. The solitude is nice, yes, but no rational cat would like to have their feet frozen off." The white tabby yawned. "Water takes some getting used to as well. But, it is in the nature of us cats to shy away from it." He arched a brow at the sight of her mussed pelt. "Your fur is sticking up in the back there."

(you’re alive, that’s great news lol. yeah if i have adblocker on while i’m on my laptop it’s like “hey, let’s talk...pls disable adblocker” ) Roxy nods along as she listens, making a note to herself to at least try to get okay at swimming. When he mentions her fur she tilts her head for a moment, looking rather confused before glancing back and seeing noticing the tufts of her fur sticking straight up. Her pelt grows warm with embarrassment and she gives a sheepish smile, leaning over and trying to groom it down but it doesn’t seem to want to stick. “Oh gosh, wow I’m, jeez my fur is usually super easy to manage. I don’t know why it’s being so stubborn.” A nervous laugh bubbles out, usually she’s not this fussy about her appearance but he did point it out and that made her so conscious about it. [Indeed, I live. Though, getting on the internet at 1 AM when I have to go to an in-person science lab tomorrow at 8 AM may not have been such a good idea. But, sometimes I am a man of bad decisions.] "It is no problem. I just assumed you would want to know." Speaking of the subject of personal grooming, he took a few moments to nibble at a claw. My, this conversation had suddenly turned awkward. But she was interested, so for her sake he'd try his best to keep it going. "There is no need to be nervous. I am not going to judge you."

(i think we’re in the same time zone then, because it is also 1am here i have a 9am lecture :’) ) Roxy glances over to the white time, giving another nervous smile before sitting up slowly after shaking her fur out a bit, hoping that’d help. She clears her throat, looking around a bit as a sort of awkward silence has now fallen around them and she tries to think of ways to keep the conversation going, she didn’t exactly want to end it yet. “You’ve mentioned your grandpa and uncle a lot, but what about your parents? Did you know them super well or did they sort of just disappear or somethin?” Snowstar blinks agonizingly slowly at the mention of his parentage, his movements oddly stiff all of a sudden. "..My father, like a fair amount of the males in my family line, distanced himself from my mother shortly after their first litter-my older siblings-were born. I can assume that my parents had a good relationship at some point judging by the fact that they got together in the first place, but I unfortunately did not get to see any of that. They repaired their relationship again for a short while to conceive my littermates and I, but he ran away to places unknown to me shortly after. I don't recall his face, so I can only presume I either never saw him around to begin with, or I was simply too young to form memories. But I did learn his name: Dean. My mother grieved for a while, and I know that some of my older siblings chose to go off looking for him years back, but I have not heard anything since. It...has been a while since I have been home. Certainly." [Geez. why are all of my characters so dang angsty? Also, since the other former members of the group have not responded to my e-mails yet and it's been a month, I'm thinking I'm just going to release the medicine cat and deputy ranks as a sort of free-for-all. Sound good to either of you? Also, been trying to get more members for this and SageClan with no success, if you're wondering where I keep going off to. ;~;]

Roxy tilts her head a bit as she listens, now frowning slightly. "Oh, that's sad." She says softly. "Why did he leave? Do you know why? Did you mom ever mention it?" Maybe she was being too invasive by asking all the questions, but she couldn;t help herself. The words were just coming out of her mouth before she could think to just stop talking. "You said that most of the males in your family eventually left their family, how come? Do you have a mate and kits that you left behind?" After that last question Roxy shuts her mouth tightly, she was getting a little too personal now even she could see that. Her fluffy tail curls around her body and she gives a sheepish smile. "Sorry...for having so many questions." "I do not know why he left, and, from the looks of it, my mother did not know, either. Or, she was hiding something from us all. Both outcomes would have been equally as likely." Snowstar shrugged in response. "Nor can I answer your...I believe it was your fourth question. But from what I could gather, it spans generations. I would like to think that it started with my grandfather, but even his own father wasn't around when he was kitted. He was murdered shortly before, so that was a viable excuse, but still. It seems very strange," he mused, and straightened up a little. "I never cared to bother courting anyone to begin with, so if I do have children running around somewhere, that would truly be a miraculous event. No one has interested me in that way, and I have my doubts that they ever will. But, that is not a bad thing. And, it is natural to have questions. It is fine." [Fff, I love Snowstar. Also, sticking the leader announcement post in with this one.] ~~~~~~ So. They'd chosen him. His ceremony was an odd one, certainly; he'd been sleeping in his den as usual, and then StarClan had come. He couldn't recall them ever making an appearance in his dreams before, needless to say. But he had seen his sister again, along with a mother who he barely remembered. No father, which could have either meant that whoever it was was either still alive or hadn't bothered to show up. Other than that, there was no one who he recognized. But, now came the problem. How in StarClan's (never mind the fact that he never particularly believed in them in the first place) name would he explain this to the Clan? And then there was the matter of choosing a deputy...Tornheart-no, Tornstar now, took a deep breath, and padded from the warriors' den. Honeypaw, for certain, was going to be overjoyed.

She nods along as she listens, ears perked and tail-tip twitching. It was honestly becoming a little hard for her to sit still for so long, but she was trying her best. "Well, that's a little surprising. I'm sure there have been tons of cats who were interested in you that way, maybe you were just too thick to notice." Roxy doesn't mean to sound rude, but it does come out like that a little bit. She blushes. "N-No, sorry I-I wasn't trying to insult you by calling you oblivious." Oh man she's stammering again, Roxy clears her throat and gives a sheepish smile. "Hey I mean, I can relate though, I've never met anyone that could put up with me long enough to want to stick around." xXxXxXx Honeypaw had just woken up, lifting her head slowly from her paws and blinking a couple of times before she really felt awake. She yawns then rises to her paws, stretching out her back while reaching her paws straight out in front of her. A little purr starts to rumble in her throat as she straightens up, not padding out of the apprentices den. When she spots Tornheart, now Tornstar but unknown to anyone else yet, her purr deepens and she bounds straight over to him. "Good morning, Tornheart!"

Snowstar responds with a dismissive shrug; perhaps a little more dismissive than he originally intended it to be, but no matter. "It is fine. I suppose that if one was to evaluate me from an outside perspective, most would say that I am emotionally oblivious by nature. So, you are not wrong, and i am not denying any assumptions made of myself." He paused briefly to lift a front paw and rasp his tongue over it. "Perhaps there have been cats in the past, but I will never know for sure. It does not matter, anyways." ~~ The tabby bicolor lets out his own purr in response. "Good morning, Honeypaw. Sleep well?" On the outside, he appeared as calm as ever, but on the inside...wow, was he not at all prepared to face his Clanmates and tell them that he led LionClan now. Most of them hardly knew each other, anyways; they'd just exchanged pleasantries here and there.
