featherleg((Ah so we're not too far off the mark on age. I was going with Derrick 27 )) ((Secondly- I have no objections. )) Derrick walked slowly over towards the bed, he seated himself with a newfound calm expression. "Nothing to be ashamed off." He softly stated, his brow eyes taking in the light which illuminated the room. "It is what makes you, well-yourself. Perhaps it is not a look to be expected on a day to day presence, but; I think it brings out the you which I find myself fumbling over." He admitted, his face was lighting up a shade, but he was so tired after a long day, which he found himself speaking calmly. "But do-get some rest, you have truly earned it."

"I-Is that so?" She questioned as she titled her head to the side and looked towards him. "I'd love to get some sleep, but I'm afraid I'll keep you up all night. I can't exactly turn these off." She motioned towards some of stars that aligned her arm that still pulsed the same beautiful silver, lighting up the room as it did. "And hey, you did some major work out there too. The Princess wouldn't keep her sanity intact if it wasn't for you keeping her spirits so high." Auransky

featherleg((Good morning! or afternoon* by the time you read this, xD)) Derrick nodded, "I don't think so, I know so." He twisted his body and leaned back some on the bed, assuring his feet remain on the ground so he doesn't loose balance and fall on her, by mistake."But I do not think you will keep me up all night." He tilted his head slightly, "I think you will protect me from that which comes in the dark, the spirits, and souls whom scower the darkest corners. With you at my side, I will sleep most calm." He assured her, seeing her at a calming presence his eyes were skimming through her visible markings. "Important to note, I am very much exhausted, it has been a long day, therefore I will sleep most soundly regardless of what I see." He untwisted himself, then stood up briefly to pull up the cover sheets, with a smile ducked into the sheets and shuffled into the bed; he kept to the edge to give Celestia room. "At the end of the day, the princess is still a child. Not by age, nor maturity, but by experience." He shifted to face her. "There is much she has learned in such a short amount of time, but I fear that all that in such a short amount of time that may be too much, hence I will do what I must to keep her feet firm on the ground." He spoke with delight then pulled out a hand from under the sheets. "I also think that without your mentoring we wouldn't be standing here under a united front. You are taking on a rather large and most difficult task."

(Haha true true) Celestia chuckled as she smiled at him. "I'll try my best to." Carefully she crawled into the bed next to him. "I wish our people would see and feels what she does. When she came to the Crossroad with her brother and retainer....I thought she was broken beyond repair. The Prince and Saizo had come to terms with their being much faster than her, so they left her with me. I trained her how to fight and mediate as best as I could. I just hope she can build her confidence now that she sees can be a leader." Gently, she entwined her fingers with his. "We both have difficult positions at this point. I only hope that my guidance is enough to support your endeavors." Auransky

Derrick nodded as he listened. He attempted to visualize the state the princess could have been in shortly after the incident, but it was difficult as images were not his thing, but he could grasp the concept. He welcomed her hand intertwining with his, it was rather empowering, and uplifting when compared to everything of that day and the previous. "I'm certain she can achieve that and more, her family i am certain has taught her well. Everything we do here is our best efforts, all we can do afterwords is allow for her determination to take flight." He smiled gently at the thought. "Hope is all we have left, it is what keeps us together, and what will help guide us out of these dark times. Do not fret, nor regret; I will back you to my best efforts, and I know you surely will too. Times will come when it appears that we both are not giving it our best, but we need to cling to hope and think realistically, there is only so much we can physically endure before we must sit back and rest before returning to priorities. So please, do not feel like you are never once below your expectations, because you never are. In fact you rise above, and task the burden not many wish to deal with. In most countries they either send the heart seekers to their own world, or perhaps wait for the best excuse to kill them off. In other instances they distance themselves from that individual and send them off deluded and lost of their sanity. But you, you have helped her very much pertain that half, I don't care what she says about her differences with us. At the end of the day heart seekers are nothing more then a frozen human in time. What makes anyone human is the desire, and urge of reason; drop the little soul left in you and there you shall define yourself as something different then all of us." featherleg

"The Queen and High Prince had taught her well during her time in the palace. If I remember correctly, she use to perform for the citizens in town many traditional and sacred songs to help bring them closer together. She even performed here a few years ago when we had a new chieftain appointed." That was the first time they ever met properly as well. Aika was only fifteen at the time of her visit, but she was graceful and diligent nonetheless in her duties as princess. "Your words always inspire me dear. I'm glad to have someone like you to keep not only our people in check, but me as well." She said fondly as she gazed up at him. "It is true though that many heart seekers are used as pawns or just left to lose their minds in isolation, but some have risen to power in certain countries. That's why the Vampiric Court exists after all; to keep those who have risen within their limits." Shaking her head, she lightly draped his arm around her shoulder as she faced towards him. "Say, when this is all over, when we're done fighting this war, what will you do?" It had been a question she often asked herself, but she was also curious as to what Derrick would do once their lives returned to normal. Auransky

featherleg"Aye, it sounds like everyone was pleasant before hand." He appreciated calmly, "I-I grew up away from everything, a small village but the few times I was assigned directly to town; I was always astonished by the differences of life. So fast moving, and upbeat; and while I cannot say I have herd or fair princess speak, I can say for certain that I can take your gentle word for granted. But despite that little grace I did not get to appreciate, I will agree; she has done quite a ton for such a young remarkable age." He smiled fondly. His eyes scrolled away at the comment, "Well-then....what will I do after?" He considered. "I-I was thinking of first and foremost to finish a few promoses to fallen souls, afterwords return home-then from there well..." He trailed off now unsure. "I-I hadn't really thought of it.."

"Well, would you ever come back here?" She asked, her voice covered with curiosity. "Personally, I hope you would, seeing as though you've captured my heart." While it was a bit embarrassing to admit such a thing, she would be lying to herself if she didn't say he had left her completely smitten. How and when this all happened she wasn't quite sure, but she knew during the time of their first meeting something occurred. Why else would she have been so driven to rush her caravan here without even knowing the circumstances of the troops that were within his and Aika's unit? Auransky(They're so cute ^^ )

"Huh, I've had a traveling companion like that before. Nothing so extreme happened, but boy, did he want to outpace me." And he seemed to think he could, which was the problem. Every time... "On top of that, I didn't really want him around. I picked him up in a small town. It was like one of those books where someone with no experience want to hike the highest mountain. That was him. He got all his information out of a travel log and figured tagging along with me would be good experience. I must have had to pick him out of crevasse every five minutes." And yet, for his harsh criticism, Tom was still smiling. He had fond memories of that time anyway. "After that trip was over I wondering if he ever went on another. At least I'm confidant he'd survive the experience this time." Tom chuckled. Auransky

Derrick leaned back a little from where he lay, "C-Come back? Of course I will come back, I made you a promise didn't I? Remember? I would help you rebuild your village, and make it a new; therefore I would be here for a bit to assist you in any way." He bluntly stated. ((Think it was mentioned some posts back; i'm certain it was)) Mentioning her inner feelings caught Derrick off guard, he nearly choked on his own saliva,"W-Well..." He coughed, "W-Would I be unfitting to say that you have captured my heart as well?" He coughed some more trying to stop the feeling of chocking, by now it was just in his head; an illusion, a mind trick, an exaggerated, oh help me moment. "Well seeing you, I find myself most uplifted of all my troubles. To see you smile, afraid, angry, or in a tone that sets shivers down spines, I love that about you. It brings me back, plants my feet firm on the ground, and nearly eliminates the impossible of my wearyness. It makes me wish to try harder, to uphold my end, and to most please you!" His tone had started mellow, but it had risen then dropped before rising as if a child were telling a story with multiple climaxes in between. "I-I don't know what I would do without you-" His face had completely gone pale, "To not see or hear you, to not know you are up ahead, I-I don't know.... it would be lonely... just thinking that is lonely." featherleg

mintedstar/fur Rowlin blinked, "Oh dear... to pick someone up and take them along despite knowing they watched a crash course." He paused, his eyes catching the attention of the waiter whom returned with his drink. "Still though, why go through the trouble of taking someone like that along? I mean in all fair kindness it's okay, but still a hazard to yourself, a team, and that individual. I've had a few situatiions where rookies are dying to climb, but I try to assure a team so we can carry them or at least keep them in check. I don't deal with too many crazy scenarios of crash course climbers,I tend to always go with groups. When it's time to hike with the group; my previous students, or my alumni have worked with the most inexperienced so they aren't as lost when we take hike." He sipped his drink in a calm manor. "But my-you seem to get around. Any historical landmarks while on the topic?" He raised a brow.

(It was stated, I just wasn't sure when I posted if it was) "I know, I know, just wanted to make sure is all." She lightly shook her head as she smiled. "I think it's quite fine; I am yours, after all." Hearing him speak sent her heart racing, just as it always did. "Derrick, you know I would never leave your side, not without a fight at least." Her voice was soft as she tried to comfort him at the sudden thought of being apart. "Knowing you're by gives me the strength to keep fighting. Your optimism and ability to look for the good in people even in the darkest of times astounds me, and the way you can unite others is incredible. I love your humbleness and kindness, and that at the end of the day--no matter what happens--you bring a smile to both to your face and mine." Only now did she notice that the light from her skin began to fade, showing truly how dark the room was. "On that note, we should go to sleep, darling." Auransky

"P-Please don't say that.." He slightly lifted himself from where he lay, "Belonging to me, it sounds rather oppressive; I don't feel it to be right. We have our interests, and our desires, but-at the moment we belong to our people. We represent those whom hold no voice, and lack the ability to step forward." He lifted his head a bit more, "But despite that, I too will do what I must to see it through-through to the end!" He chuckled awkwardly, "Oh please you speak too kind, don't spoil me oh please-I do what I feel is right, because I know it to be right. There is no goal, no ambition, no prize to be obtained for doing the right thing. It is mainly doing the right thing that leads to these opportunities of peaceful tranquility." He fell back into the comforts of the bed, "But-I do agree, rest may be best..." featherleg

Besides, you shower me in compliments, shouldn't I be able to do the same to you?" She curled up against him as she closed her eyes, her mind finally at rest from being in his calm presence as exhaustion overtook her and lulled her to sleep with her hand still entwined with his. Derrick slightly glimpsed away, "Well...." He was unsure on how to answer that. "I-I guess..." His voice felt silent. He wasn't thinking straight at this point. He wanted rest as much as she needed it, but this talk; he cornered himself unsure how to respond. Turning back to open his mouth he paused seeing her curling up against him, then easily falling into the essence of sleep. I shouldn't think this too much-I should call it a night myself... He slowly closed his own eyes, looking forward to a goodnights rest. featherleg

As her eyes fluttered open to the rays of sunlight that scattered across the room, Celestia lightly pulled herself up--making sure not to wake Derrick in the process--as she sat against the beds small frame and glanced around the room. While doing so, a massive headache emerged, causing her to hold her head as she gasped out in pain. Another..side effect? While she knew of the endless effects of magic and what hers could do, she had never experienced headaches or pain like this before. Perhaps I missed something in study? Or we've never encountered this before??Auransky

Derrick had slept soundly through the night, for many reasons; exhaustion leading the priority list. With morning soon creaking through the windows, he didn't want to wake up. He was still somewhat tired from the previous two days, so he adjusted himself a little and tried to fumble back to sleep even if only for 10 minutes. Hearing a gasp he couldn't help but open an eye. "C-Celestia? A-Are you alright?" He kept his eyes closed briefly while lifting himself from the comforts of the bed. Slowly opening his eyes he tried to adjust to the morning, but he really didn't want to. Her gasp gave him concern on a different end. D-Did she hit something? Fumble, spot something?featherleg

Shaking her head, she attempted to open her eyes but just found that in doing so, it worsened the pain that was drilling in her head. Not to mention the fact that for what she saw in those brief moments was just blinding light. "I-I think I must have pushed myself...a little too far..." She muttered as she bit her lip and leaned forward to hug her knees as the pain began to expand from just a headache to pain in her neck, arms, and back. Auransky

"O-Okay, that's it!" He now pushed himself off the bed, and knelt down once he reached the floor. "You need to rest." On he floor he ran a hand across the floor gently scooping her into his grasp. "F-Forgive me." He softly spoke, then quickly rose then propped her back on the bed. "You are staying here today, i don't care what happens i need you to stay here, rest, and not do anything." He waved a firm finger, but his firm voice was failing to stay in place. He was concerned for her well beong. "J-Just... please rest..." He voluntarily fell to his knees, then rested his elbows against the side of the bed. "You simply overworked yourself, I'm certain that with rest you Wil be most fine." His voice softly stated. featherleg

As he picked her up, she stifled a small scream of pain as her hands covered her mouth. Feeling the comforts of the bed back around her, she opened her eyes just enough to see him without inducing more pain upon herself. "I wish I understood what's happening....are you sure you'll be alright attending to everyone today?" One thing she tried her best to avoid was being a burden. Bruises she could handle, her birthmarks she could conceal, but this pain was unbearable. Not only would her unit be concerned beyond her handling, she knew the other troops would question what exactly happened in yesterdays battle even more so than they did prior. Auransky

Derricks nodded slowly, "worry not my lady. I can surely fr certain tend to everything today." He calmly assured. "I am for sure more then capable of tending to duties, as demonstrated of my unique scenarios." He stood up now, "Now rest, and I shall fetch you assistance. Then seek the princess for her condition as well." He walked over to a case, and opened it to take out spare armory "Would you prefer one of your own to come heal you, or would you prefer Fetch someone whom I know to tend to you?" Nodding, she closed her eyes tightly while thinking over his words. "In the royal caravan, the one with the Hakuryu family crest on it, there should be the twins Leila and Urian. W-We've kept them safe..for times like these. Just...let the guards there know I require their assistance...and to e-escort them here." While she wasn't suppose to let their presence be known until they reached the city of Lesta--which they would be leaving for within the next month to negotiate a safe harbor for their troops and for the princess--it wouldn't hurt to allow them to explore a bit of the village while also working on their skills. Up to this point he wasn't certain as to who or what was in the Caravan, it never once occurred to him that it was people. D-Do I need to watch them? Another eye or eyes? "Well anyways!" His tone had risen as he finished adjusting his armor on. "I shall go at once, do rest and this time for once I ask you not be up for anything." He waved a firm finger backing away, and slowly out of the room. featherleg

There had been many different factures at the time and half of it had been out of his control. "I've had worse hazards in my life. I was once trapped in a burning city. Carrying a guy every now and again was aggravating and I wouldn't do it again. But..." he smile, which had all but disappeared came back faintly. "But I made a very interesting friend in him. When you are out there, alone, you learn a lot about the people you travel with." At Rowlin's next question Tom's cheerfulness came back. "Oh, you want historical landmarks? Name one I haven't seen and I'll buy you anything on the menu you want!" The edges of his eyes crinkled. "Hum, all the classics: Eiffel Tower, Pyramids of Giza, London Bridge, Statue of Liberty. So many others as well. What about you?" he asked.

"Thank you Derrick, and please, m-make sure no one outside my unit sees them. Y-You'll understand why when you meet them." With that, she turned her back towards him and curled up beneath the sheets. To think I could be rendered this week...how disappointing.. Having ruined the underclothing of her armor from yesterdays fight, Aika decided it would be best to just wear one of her royal dresses that she still had with her. Luckily, she had packed two winter versions of the dress which made her feel warm, although she knew the cold air outside wouldn't affect her anymore. At least the fabric is nice. One of the soldiers from yesterday said his family were tailors right? Maybe I could have him make me some better fitted clothes to wear with my armor.. Grabbing her diary that sat at the desk before her, she started to sketch a few designs. Surprisingly, she woke up this morning feeling normal. No blood lust, no pain, even her sensitive hearing had been tuned down a bit to let her hear just her immediate surroundings, which was a major relief. Auransky

mintedstar/fur Rowlin listened with a keen interest, this guy whom he just met. He was quite the match, and a huge liking on his tastes for adventure. This may have just become the greatest day ever! He nodded at the mention of a burning city,"Oh dear, it almost sounds like you were walking in a territorial hotspot across seas. Something very dangerous, but sadly most real." He couldn't help but snap his fingers at the thought, "Exactly! Learning about people through interactions is a key asset to our knowledge. That person you met yesterday may become your greatest ally tomorrow." He held out his hands to make a barrier like gesture, "Now granted that isn't the case all the time, but in general terms; people open doors. These doors lead to opportunities, and opportunties squeeze in time to learn, and enhance in our overall performance." Seeing his excitement in Tom about history was now exciting him. "OH finally someone who gets it!" He nodded like a child who just recieved the candy load of a lifetime. "The Great wall of China, Newgrange, Bran castle,Katherine Mansfield's House & Garden; just to name a few." He smirked slightly, but tried his best to keep a humble cheerful expression. He couldn't help but tap the table lightly, "I rarely encounter people as enthusiastic for these sorts of things, w-well unless they work in my field of study..." He tilted his head now at the thought. "Usually when working people roll their eyes; they come and go. Every now and then I get someone who enjoys the concept of history, then they go on and pursue it in field as well. But then again the most common response every semester is I need it for G.E's." featherlegOnce out of the cabin, Derrick couldn't help but stretch out into the air with full relief of the morning before him. It was a new day, and despite recent events; a turn of the page for many incidents. He still had to check in on others but, first came to mind was the Caravan. So he turned, making his way for the caravan. Will see - what will I see? The thoughts now crossed his mind. What was he going to encounter, were they humans, hybrids, or people like himself who were damaged by the wretched war? Whatever it was he would shortly find out, but another question crossed his mind, one that now made him wonder. Yet this thought he found to be of the least importance, and more of a personal question, so he discarded it and moved onto his many other thoughts. By now the caravan wasn't too far from his walk around the camp, he had chosen to take the long way to assure other things around the camp during his walk. The guards should be there right? He raised a brow trying to seek out. ((pretend guards, real interaction, or skip straight to the caravan meeting? ))

The sound of muffled voices came from within inside the caravan. Silenced followed until what sounded like a latch came undone inside. The door to the caravan slowly opened as a pair of dark, pine green eyes gazed back at Derrick. "Y-Yes? Did sis send you? You look d-different than the others...." The voice that called out to him seemed to be that of a young boy. "W-We heard fighting earlier...sis said she handle it, like she always does. Is sis okay?" Derrick blinked , hearing what he could have sworn to be mumbling voices. He slowly leaned forward in curiosity, but his actions were short lived as the sound of unlocking forced him to return quickly to his upright posture. Their gazes at first appeared rather vigilant, but at the mention of 'sis' he found his stiffness slowly thawing. "Everything is most fine. A little mishap that was well taken care of, I assure you." His tone flew at a steady manor. "But..." It had a minor rise. "Dear, Celestia has asked for you both in a slight change of circumstances. If that is not an upmost problem, I shall personally escort the two of you to her quarters." d-did they call her sis? I herd that right....
