ah well i'm sure the manager will let you know if she's struggling to get hold of her or anything c: i'm sure they just want to make sure that what you've said matches up.
edit: oh that's great!! nothing to worry about my dude <3
ah yeah i'm applying to come to the us to do it (i think they're mostly on the east coast?), summer camps aren't even really a thing in this country at all haha. fingers crossed 'cause i'd love to do it and it's a way cheaper way of getting to see some of the usa than it would be to just go as a travelling trip [ if that makes sense haha ] but i get the impression people with riding & horse care experience are in quite high demand? i hope
so yeah it's probably a bit different if you were wanting to do it and you at least live on the same continent haha but the references are like people who you've known strictly professionally for a period of at least six months and have worked with in the past 12 months so like. i have plenty of experience but since i've been at university for two years now most of it hasn't been in the last 12 months and the ones that have, they haven't known me professionally for six months yet D:

Gosh I keep forgetting you don't live over here. I gotta stop assuming everyone's American XD
Yeah from what I've seen online the east coast seems to be a big area for that kinda stuff. The Midwest is kinda not and that's where I live so it sucks cause there's not a ton of barns and stuff around. People mainly keep their own horses on their own land so yeah. Like I live in a small town so it's super horsey but it's more a private horse kinda thing than big lesson programs and such.
Honestly I don't remember learning any strict rules about references here it's more kinda like suggestions. Like working with someone for a couple years makes a better reference than your best friend, etc. So like the reference I used for this job we worked together for about three years and she kinda supervised me and my friends. References for other jobs were like my Girl Scout leader that's known me forever and seen me do a bunch of charity work and stuff. Another is my church leader. So like yeah I don't recall any specific rules it's just kinda using your own judgement to find good references with credibility. I mean I could be wrong but that's what I've been taught and it's worked out fine so far

to be fair it seems like 90% of forum people are, so i imagine it is pretty easy to forget haha
oh yeah, the whole barn thing doesn't really happen here at all. it's mostly just livery yards and if people are getting lessons then instructors come out to wherever they are. mostly just fields and shelters instead of any proper stabling and not really any shared space or anything if you know what i mean? there was a small riding club where i kept my horse but it was super casual and was independent of the yard itself if that makes sense. i guess i don't have any real knowledge of what it's like over there but i get the impression there's quite a different horse culture between the US and UK c: i know when new students from america come over and join our university riding club they definitely find it quite different (in terms of riding and just the general horse world)
yeah most work references aren't too hard, i usually just use people I did volunteering with before or high school teachers I was friendly with. it's just this organisation i'm applying through has these specifications :c one of the people I probably could use is someone i only just asked to be a reference for something else too so i feel a bit bad asking again so soon? i mean i'm sure she won't actually mind haha i just feel like a bit of a bother

I honestly know like next to nothing about other countries. I know a little about Mexico and Spain from Spanish classes and my Mexican friend but like not much. I'd honestly love to travel so much but I don't have the money. I can barely afford my riding lessons. Yeah around here most people just keep their horses in their yard if it's big enough (which it usually is. Most people have a couple acres at least. I got about 1.3) but barns like my old one are hard to come across. They had about 40 lesson horses and like 10 instructors and was a pretty big operation. I'm heading away to college in a year or two and plan on riding on their h/j team though cause I'm taking my first two years at a local college
Ah I get it. I thought you meant work references in general. Honestly I'd say go for it and ask them. I don't see why someone would turn you down if they already accepted it once.

We haven't really started yet so it's not a big deal right now but I'm trying to get everyone on. So you can take a couple days to write a starter if you're still interested : )
And also feel free to stay and chat. We've been doing a lot of chatting between posting our starters
I really don't want this to die though
