Tawnyhaze flicked his tail.
"It's a cat I've never seen before." He said. The cat looked rough too.
"We don't need more rogue's snooping around." He sighed, shuffling his feet.

Sparrowtail looked concerned. "Well, Harestar's talking with whoever it is. I'm sure its' alright."
Crowpaw and Foxpaw dropped their catches in the kill pile, picking some for themselves. "What you think Mudfang's up to?" The ginger apprentice mused, picturing the warrior with a frown. "I almost never see him in camp, and he always comes back with a lot of prey. Figure he's foudn some secret prey stash?" He said jokingly.
Crowpaw just rolled his eyes and ate the mouse he chose.

"Hopefully." He said solemnly. Blackdawn padded towards the prey pile, hearing the apprentices talking.
"I thought it was the girl apprentices who gossiped." She said in a playful tone.

Foxpaw looked up as Blackdawn neared and greeted her with a smile. "This is not gossip." He said, feigning a serious tone. "It is... speculation!"
Crowpaw shoved Foxpaw slightly as a response, giving him a you'd like to think that, yeah right look.
Fox bid farewell to Harestar, excusing himself as he hoped to go find his mate. As he stepped out of the den, he stopped, his eyes alighting on Sparrowtail across camp. He wasn't sure what he was going to say to her... what has it been, almost 10 moons? The kits has been just opening tehir eyes and walking when he left, only a few weeks old. He did not recognize the two gossiping apprentices as his sons as he slowly walked out.
Sparrowtail was looking at Tawnyhaze and did not see him at first. "... It'll be fine." She reassured herself, again, but thought of the prophecy rumors, and of Ravensteps' death. However, as she looked up, she spotted Fox staring at her and gasped aloud as he slowly neared them.

Blackdawn gave a laughing purr.
"Then why are you keeping your voices down?" She asked, though she didn't intend on prying. Apprentices talked and she wouldn't stop them.
Tawnyhaze was confused when Sparrowtail froze and stopped talking. He did not know Fox was the father of her kits, only that she was staring at him in a surprised manner.

"I can't believe I caught it!" Badgerpaw excitedly spun around to face her denmate, "I've never felt like I could catch one before but this time I thought maybe I could and I did" she stared down at the robin in amazement. "Hey, it's getting really foggy? I never noticed until now" she looked around feeling a spark of worry.

"In fear that our speculations with be overheard by one who causes our speculation... not that he's here, but one never knows." Foxpaw said slyly. "Actually I haven't seen Mudfang all day. Have you?"
Fox nervously kept walking and soon stood in front of them, a bit embarrassed by the fact he as currently so disheveled from traveling. "Sparrowtail..." He greeted quietly and cautiously, also nodding to Tawnyhaze respectfully, uncertain of who he was. His face only looks vaguely familiar. "How are... how are things?"
Sparrowtail wasn't sure how she felt talking in front of Tawnyhaze, especially because of how she heard he had a dislike for his half-rogue sibling. Giving her clan mate a hasty glance she nervously licked her chest fur down and looked back towards Fox. I'm acting like some giddy apprentice...
She firmly set her jaw afterwards and said, trying to sound serious, but her voice wavered slightly. "I thought... I thought you died." She muttered, not sure if she should be angry or rejoicing right now.

Blackdawn sat down.
"Ah I see, you're talking about Mudfang. You're right he probably is out endlessly hunting prey." She said sarcastically. Maybe she shouldn't be encouraging their banter, but it was true. The tom never seemed to be around.
Tawnyhaze wasn't sure whether he should be in the conversation out not. He felt a little awkward sitting there. But when Sparrowtail said something about her thinking this new tom was dead, he couldn't help but be intrigued.

Nightglisten meanwhile collected a few stray leaves he found that survived in the snow, collecting these and the roots into a small heap. "I think these are good, for now. There likely won't be much else anywhere." He said after a few minutes of silence. "... I'm not sure it's enough if anything happens, however. I'll come back out later." He muttered, thinking of the prophecy. Shiverpaw lowered herself to the ground as she spotted a mouse scamper from the remains of a bush. After a few seconds of wiggling and preparing herself as it drew nearer, and lunged herself at it. She caught it one moment but it got loose, dashing towards Blizzardpaw. "Catch it!" She shouted back. Wildmist nodded and picked up the herbs, ready to go back to camp. Blizzardpaw looked as the mouse ran towards him and swiftly caught it with his paws. |

Foxpaw poked his freshkill, considering if it was one of Mudfangs' many catches of recent days. "Mudfangs' weird." He commented after a moment. "Not saying I exactly don't trust him but... but he's weird."
Crowpaw nodded to this.
Fox was startled and started a bit. "Wait... what? No, of course not!" Fox replied nervously and in a hurry. What he said was obvious, considering he was there, alive, but still. "Sparrowtail, I didn't mean to worry you!"
"That, or... or you lied. Why didn't you come back sooner?" Sparrowtail muttered, tail beginning to twitch in her agitation. "Why? Where were you?!"
Foxpaw heard his mother's voice and looked over. He did not recognize Fox at first. "What'd you thinks' going on?" He said, getting to his paws.

Blackdawn didn't answer. She felt the same way, but was not going to encourage the apprentices and their suspicions. When the argument when Sparrowtail pursued, she looked up and saw the new strange cat as well as Tawnyhaze's concerned look.

A large fog settled onto the camp as nightfall came. Mudfang led a large pack of badgers in the forest, heading closer to OakClan. In the fog as they reached the entrance, Mudfang's eyes glowed.

Snowbird slept soundly in the medicine cats den, paws curled close to her chest. In the warriors den, Blackdawn slept at one end while Tawnyhaze slept close to the entrance.

Juniperbreeze was on sentry duty when the badgers arrived. Her eyes grew wide when she saw their beady eyes reflecting what little moonlight was able to break down through the fog. She yelped in terror and darted into camp to alert everyone

Mudfang walked into camp. "Hello OakClan! I'd like you to meet my friends," Mudfang stepped aside, the badgers walking around camp, snarling.

Timberstone had heard Juniperbreeze's call and was was waiting in the center of camp. His eyes narrowed as he saw Mudfang. Why didn't anyone ever listen to him!?
Sandpebble left the warriors den and her eyes widened. "Mudfang no! Please!" she begged, "why!?"

Badgerpaw was sleeping with her face burrowed deeply in the soft moss that lined her nest. She rolled onto her back and stretched before snuggling back now. The sound of Mugfang's voice jolted her awake and she looked around dazed.

Tawnyhaze jumped to his feet and ran out, immediately greeted by the overpowering stench of badger. The tom growled and jumped on the closest one before it could jump on him. Blackdawn awoke to the sound of snarls and darted out, standing in shock as badgers walked through their camp.
Snowbird's head shot up suddenly and she tried to get to her feet. The she-cat crawled toward the medicine cat den enterance, gasping at the sight before her.

Mudfang chuckled. "Oh, my dear sister wants to know why, but she already knows." He climbed on top of the branches of a tree as the badgers swung wildly. "Why don't we talk about Harestar? Our father? You all remember that kittypet Nutmeg, don't you? His mate? He abandoned her, and his kits." He snarled.
Harestar looked at Sandpebble and Mudfang. "S-she never told me." He looked at Sandpebble. "Is this true?"

Snowbird listened quietly at, hiding in the medicine cat den. Blackdawn ears flattened as she listened to Mudfang. Tawnyhaze looked at the male warrior. Why should they believe him? Both siblings had shown up out of nowhere.

Badgerpaw bolted out of the apprentice den but froze when she saw the badgers, she suddenly felt cold. Her head spun and she had to dig her claws into the earth in confusion.
Ruewhisker blinked her eyes open sleepily when she heard the commotion. Once she recognised Mudfang's voice she jumped to her feet and ran outside.
