Skystar perked up, surprise covering his face at the announcement of the medicine cat's naming. He nodded slowly after that, his eyes drifting from the medicine cat's face. They only returned to make eye contact when Fallenstone asked to move to the elder's den. He wanted to protest, but couldn't find the will to deny his friend retirement. "You've served the clan well, Fallenstone. I'll make an announcement to the clan." He gave a final nod before standing up and making his way out of the den. He bounded up the rock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather for a clan gathering." Skystar summoned his clan beneath him. He glanced them over before beginning. "It is time for our apprentices to be appointed their mentors." He began. "Goldenstorm will be mentoring Spiderpaw, and Antnose will mentor Mountainpaw." He paused, before contuning. "Lakepaw has earned her full medicine cat name and is now named Lakeshimmer." Once more, he paused, letting the clan cheer the name. "Finally, Fallenstone is moving to the elder's den and Lakeshimmer is the newly appointed medicine cat." He hesitated in silence before bouncing down from the high rock and padding back into his den.

Bran let out an amused purr at Lakeshimmer's comment about her father. His ears perked at the mention of her teaching him a medicine cat practice. He opened his mouth to respond, but Skystar's call cut him off. Briefly, he leaned in towards Lakeshimmer. "Look, time for my naming ceremony and for me to officially become the medicine cat's apprentice." He padded towards the rock, settling down towards the back of the gathered crowd. He cheered Lakeshimmer's name as loud as he could, but worry clouded his gaze at the last announcement. "Are you sure you'll be able to handle everything alone?" He questioned, turning to Lakeshimmer.

Cricketflight and Ryeflower settled in go the meeting be for they could leave, as well as Antnose and Turtledrop. At Skystar's announcement at his new apprentice, Antnose's eyes grew wild with shock. He had to make a conscious effort to not let his jaw drop in surprise. His siblings were ecstatic, and all rushed him to give him their earnest congratulations.

After a minute, Cricketflight and Ryeflower excuse themselves to rejoin Goldenstorm. "Congrats on your new apprentice too!" Ryeflower purred, "Do you want to still come hunting, or do you want to start with your apprentice?"

Turtledrop spent a few more moments fawning over her brother, but Antnose eventually shook her off. He was excited, but also nervous. He tried to shake off his nerves as he walked over to greet his new apprentice.

"I'm ready when you two are." Ryeflower said, looking between Goldenstorm and her brother.

Cricketflight gave a decisive nod. "Let's go." He said, giving his tail a flick, and walk in out the entrance.

They started walking. Cricketflight led the group to find a good hunting spot.

"So, have you ever had an apprentice before?" Ryeflower asked Goldenstorm, trying to strike up a conversation .

(Sorry I disappeared I had to go to the store.)

"Maybe." Ryeflower said thoughtfully, "Teaching is a lot different than raising a kit though, fair warning."

"You two are gonna scare off all the prey if you don't stop jabbering," Cricketflight interjected somewhere sternly, although he flashed then a good natured smile. Small rustling noises could be heard in the leaves up ahead. Circketflight crouched to the ground, very carefully keeping his tail off the ground, and motioned the others to do the same.

Cricketfligjt stalked forward. As he approached a spot in the leaves, a huge vole darted out, and headed towards Goldenstorm.

"And that's a big vole, too." Cricketflight smiled at him, "Should we split up over this area?"

"I think that's a good idea," Ryeflower responded, "We'll meet back here in a little bit." She stalked off into the forest looking for prey.

(Should we just skip to when they're done hunting?)

Cricketflight and Ryeflower both padded back into the clearing at about the same time. Cricketflight had managed to bag a couple of mice, while Ryeflower caught a decently large sparrow. They waited for Goldenstorm to get back.

"Looks like it," Cricketflight replied. Him and Ryeflower gathered up their prey and began the journey back to the camp.

Fallenstone made his way to the Elder's den, looking around to find a cozy spot to lay down. He was glad to have lived a good, full life as a medicine cat. Anxiety suddenly prickled at his paws. Would Lakeshimmer go see him? Or would she just forget about him? He tried to push the thought out of his head. Surely she'd visit her old mentor when she wasn't busy.


Mountainpaw bounced up and down as she flanked Antnose, excited to finally have a mentor. "What are we doing first?" She asked. She looked up at him with hope that he'd make her into a great warrior. She was glad Skystar made Antnose her mentor.

"That sounds wonderful!" The large she-cat purred. "I'm so excited!" She bounced up and down around her new mentor.

Mountainpaw followed Antnose, excited to see the whole territory. "Where are we going first?" She asked the tom.
