Goldenstorm's eyes went wide with surprise. He felt honored that Skystar considered him to be a mentor. "I would be honored to mentor Spiderpaw." His tail flicked with excitement at the thought of his first apprentice. The large tom chose a shrew from the pile and settled down across from Skystar.
Lakepaw purred and smiled. "Well don't you know your herbs." She mewed as she stood up. "I can see it's not you who has a thorn in their nose, so unless they cant move send the cat to me so I can remove it." She turned back to the herbs she was sorting and gathered what she would need.

Skystar looked back to Goldenstorm, a bit surprised by the tom's reaction. Taken off guard, but reassured. He felt some of his anxiety ebb away and gave Goldenstorm an appreciative nod. "Thank you. You can start right away. I'll announce it to the clan in a sunrise or two." With another nod, Skystar settled back down and returned to his mouse.
Bran turned his head to watch her. "Why don't you show me some time then?" He suggested before she went on. Bran was dully aware of the feud between Lakepaw and her father, so he figured he could either get instructions on how to remove it himself, or brighten her mood up enough that she wouldn't be down right unhappy with helping Goldenstorm. "Are you sure?" He titled his head to the side, running a paw over his muzzle. "It could be a really small one..." He paused as if in thought. "Say, why don't all warriors know how to handle thorns? Wouldn't it just be easier if we could all puck them out and care for them since they're common?" He asked, settling comfortably and scratching his ear with his back leg.

"Thank you Skystar. I think I should have this thorn taken care of before I do anything." He purred a little at his own joke. Goldenstorm quickly polished off the shrew he had grabbed, and resumed procrastinating outside the medicine den. He tilted his ears forward to see if he could hear the conversation between Bran and Lakepaw.
"It wouldn't hurt for you to learn the more common herbs." Lakepaw purred. The pretty she-cat turned back around to face the tom. "Warriors are free to handle thorns on their own and don't always need to be treated with herbs for them. However since this one is in a cat's nose I want to make sure there wasn't too much damage done." She thought for a minute more to explain why all cats don't just treat themselves. "We medicine cats know the proper dosage for each herb, because even the most common and simple herbs can have dangerous consequences if used incorrectly."

Bran seemed to think on her words, his back leg slowing down in it's scratching on his ear. Slowly, he eased his leg down and sat up straight. "What about traveling herbs?" he asked, tilting his head. "Could those be dangerous?" His eyes glanced up at the ceiling for a second in thought before he looked back to her. "Why don't we just eat a few a day during leaf-bare so we don't eat as much and won't feel hunger pains?" He let the question hang for nearly a moment before shaking his head and getting to his feet. "Never mind. I'm asking too much." He tried to excuse his own questions with a purr. "Thorns don't need to be treated, huh?" He asked, leaving out the 'don't always' part of it.

Fallenstone- an old light grey tom with light blue eyes. He has small white dots above his eyes and a white tipped tail. He is the medicine cat of Sparrowclan. He has always wanted kits but he's barren. He hopped becoming a medicine cat would fill the void. He can be pretty grumpy to the warriors but has a sweet spot for Apprentices, queens, and kits.

"Is that itch really bad? I might have something to sooth that." Lakepaw asked noticing his scratching. "Nonsense a cat can't ask to many questions." She purred as she thought about his traveling herbs idea. "Thorns do sometimes need to be treated, depending on where, how big, how deep, or if it keeps bleeding. They especially need to be treated if the cat suspects infection." She explained hoping that it made sense to Bran.
Goldenstorm purred softly to himself, proud of his kit and her knowledge. He sneezed which aggravated the thorn even more, but didn't dislodge it. His tail flicked nervously he knew the thorn needed to be looked at, but he was wary of Lakepaw's fury.

Fallenstone watched Lakepaw silently. He was glad she took to the medicine cat life easily. His gaze shifted over to Goldenstorm. "Do you need anything?" He asked as the tom watched Lakepaw. "Or are you going to stare down my apprentice all day?"

Bran flicked his ear and gave a shrug, wishing he hadn't scratched at it so much. He'd come in here to help Goldenstorm but had just ended up distracting Lakepaw with his own problems. "It's not that bad. If you have something, but it's no priority." He listened intently and gave little nods to her telling him about thorns and how the wounds from them vary. "Huh, you sure know a lot." He purred. His ears twitched as he heard Goldenstorm's muffled sneeze from outside. Bran had failed at getting Lakepaw to share how to remove thorns or how to heal them, and felt a bit guilty that he doubted the encounter between her and her father would go well. Alas, he'd tried what he could in the time he'd been given. "Goldenstorm's the one with the thorn." He added with a little nod towards the entrance of the medicine cat's den.

Goldenstorm leaped to his feet in surprise, his fur fluffed up in shock. "S-sorry Fallenstone." As he turned to face the other tom the large thorn in his nose was very apparent. His nose was significantly swollen, and an angry red. Goldenstorm shuffled his paws in embarrassment, he was ashamed to tell the medicine cat he was afraid to speak to his own kit.
"Thank you Bran." She purred at the compliment. Lakepaw's eyes hardened at the mention of Goldenstorm, her tail flicked in annoyance. Closing her eyes she breathed deeply to compose herself, knowing she'd have to help the idiot. Returning back to her cheery self she mewed, "Is that so? We should go help him." She grabbed a leaf that had some poppy seeds in it, and Alder Bark. "Could you help me grab some cobweb and Comfrey Root?" She mumbled around the herbs in her mouth while using her tail to point out what she asked for.

Bran was caught off guard by Lakepaw's request for him to help. Did she trust him to carry herbs? The right herbs? He glanced around and quickly identified the cobwebs and gently used his paw to swipe up a few. He paused and glanced over the storage of herbs before seeing that she was using her tail to point to the roots. He shot her a glance and purr before leaning down to pick them up. "Guess my medicine cat training begins today." He teased before grabbing the roots gently between his teeth and turning to follow the apprentice's lead.

The old tom sighed. "I'll help you, follow me into the den." He paused for a heartbeat and leaned in to whisper into Goldenstorm's ear. "Stop bothering Lakepaw. She doesn't want you to be in her life." He hissed quietly. "You aren't her father as long as both of you stay in this clan. I don't want her to be stressed out or distracted from her duties as a medicine cat because of you." He stepped away and signaled him to follow with his tail.
(Would it be okay if Fallenstone was somewhat a father figure to Lakepaw?)

(That's totally okay I think it would be fun!)
Lakepaw purred at Bran's teasing, she enjoyed the company. Walking outside of the den, she was surprised to Fallenstone there. The young she-cat set down the herbs she was carrying so that she could speak. "Hello Fallenstone, I didn't know you were back." Using her tail she gestured to Bran and the herbs. "Bran told me about him," Lakepaw said referring to Goldenstorm "I believe I got the correct herbs. You can check if you want." The she-cat offered, she loved being taught by the tom.
Goldenstorm's ears and tail drooped as he listened to Fallenstone. He knew the other tom was right, but he still loved his daughter. The tom remained silent as Lakepaw spoke to Fallenstone.

Bran set the roots and cobwebs down gentle beside where Lakepaw laid her's out and sat back out of the way of the two medicine cat's and the wounded warrior. He kept glancing up and trying to make eye contact with Goldenstorm so he could shoot the warrior an apologetic look. Bran really wished he could have gotten things to go smoother.

"let's see." Fallenstone purred. "Comfrey root, cobwebs, poppyseeds and Adler bark.." Fallenstone mewed. "I don't think Goldenstorm will really need the poppyseeds. He doesn't seem to be in that much pain. And Alder bark is for when cats have a tooth ache. I'd use marigold for the infection instead of Comfrey root. Although we might need the cobwebs if his nose starts to bleed when we pull the thorn out." He turned to Bran. "Do you know what marigold looks like?"

Bran looked up to Fallenstone and considered the question for a second before shaking his head. "I don't, but I could take Lakepaw with me. We could carry more together." He offered. It seemed like a valid suggestion in Bran's mind. It was best not to send apprentices into the woods alone, and would also help to excuse Lakepaw from the situation with her father.

"nonsense. There's some in the den." Fallenstone mewed. "And since Lakepaw seems to have taken you on as her apprentice," The old tom chuckled. "I'll show you where they are so you know for next time." The grey tom padded into the den, waiting for Bran to follow.

Bran felt disappointment fluster him for a second, but he tried his best not to show it and to push the feeling away. He purred in amusement at Fallenstone's comment. "Yes, my training as a medicine cat's apprentice's apprentice is coming along nicely." He turned to follow the elderly tom, taking one second to look back over his shoulder between the feuding daughter and father before turning forward again and following Fallenstone inside.

When inside, Fallenstone dug around for the marigold and took a few of the leafs. "This is marigold. It helps fight and prevent infection." He explained. "You chew it up and spread it where ever it's needed." Fallenstone's eyes suddenly had a serious look in them. "Bran, I wanted to ask you something. Are you happy as a warrior?"

Bran took note of what the herb looked like and tried his best to mentally make note of how to use it. He gave small nods to Fallenstone's words and he attempted to process all the information that he was being given. His eyes snapped up from the golden and orange flowers to meet Fallenstone's gaze when his abrupt question was asked. Confusion spread over Bran's facial expressions and he turned his head to the side. "I am." He shuffled his paws nervously. "Why?"

Mountainpaw - She-cat - apprentice- Mountainpaw is a sleek grey, black, and white dappled she-cat. She has brownish gold eyes. She's bigger than most she-cats and can be insecure about it. She's a skilled fighter but has trouble hunting. - Mountainpaw is clanborn and lost her parents to old age

He spoke softly. "one day, I won't be here for her. I have a feeling shes not going to pick an apprentice any time soon after im in Starclan." He admitted. "I was wondering when that time does come, if you'd help her." His blue eyes seemed to be staring through the tom. "She's lost so much already. I don't want her to feel alone when that time comes." (May I make a small prophecy?)

(What would the prophecy include? o: Maybe! Goldenstorm is currently mentor to spiderpaw but the person who owns her has been inactive for ten days. if you don't mind waiting the extra four to see if they come back or not I'll switch them out!)
Bran tipped his head to the side. "I..." He wasn't expecting this. "I'm not sure what I could do for her, but I can do my best." He promised, leaning in a bit more and trying to keep his voice low. He wasn't sure how he felt about Goldenstorm and Lakepaw hearing the conversation he was having with Fallenstone and decided it was best to try to make sure they couldn't hear it. "This is... abrupt." He stated. "I imagine Lakepaw would have a whole lot more than just me looking out for her. She'll have you for a long time and after that the rest of the clan."

I'll pm you. I don't mind waiting :3)
"A long time..." Fallenstone mewed softly. "I hope so." He knew he wasn't the young cat he use to be. And the thought of Lakepaw's sorrow tugged at his heart. He cared too much for the she-cat to leave her in such a state. "The clan might try to help her but she seems closer to you in particular. I just want to make sure she'll be happy." Fallenstone shook out his pelt with a new change of attitude. "Let's go pull that thorn out of Goldenstorm's nose."

(alright!)
Bran blinked in confusion. Lakepaw seemed to be closer to him than the rest of the clan? He glanced at his paws. It was a lot that Fallenstone was asking of him in this moment, but he felt the urgency in the medicine cat's request and gave him a promising nod. He was relieved with the change in subject and gave a nod, following the Fallenstone out of the den with the marigold.

Goldenstorm flicked his tail nervously, he didn't get to be alone with his kit that often. "How have you been Lakepaw?" He mewed softly.
"Just because I'm treating you doesn't mean I like you. It's my duty to treat all cats." Lakepaw lashed her tail, she despised being left with her father. She was a little disappointed that she had gotten the herbs wrong, but she was glad Fallenstone was there. Although she wouldn't have minded if she had give Goldenstorm a bit more pain.
