"I might, but I assume that my family has disowned be, given being in places like this is more than just an occasional pastime." Kasida replied to him while she felt herself already grow uneasy. She kept her mouth shut through most of the dance anyway. She didn't want to think about how dull and lavish her life could have been. It would only bring more reason for her to want to get out and fight. Now she was here and that was the end of the story for her. "What of you?" she asked with a raised eyebrow. -- Mivienne was smiling all the more, especially since it amused her to see such a large brute like him having ease in a dance as graceful as this. Then she heard his response, and her stomach sank. "My apologies." she said while looking up to him, "If there's anything I can do for you two..." she figured she would leave that to interpretation anyway. It was the least she could do for them.

"I suppose that would happen. I'm sorry, then, that you can't return to your family." Damian gave in return, his black-flecked, crimson eyes watching her with a subtle interest and enjoyment. "As for me, as I've told you, I'm from Drarith. I'm a Count's son on my planet, though I'm not highly looked upon because I'm only half my species." He said, referring to the crimson hues of his eyes, his elonged ears and caramel colored skin. "So, my younger brother will become the head of the family when my father dies. I'm supposedly off talking diplomats with a group of young noblemen on Telekony, 'expanding our social skills'. So, I slipped away and here I am, a few tens of planets away at miss Mivienne's party, dancing with you." He explained with an amused grin. "If my father ever found out," he continued, "I'd probably be beat for spoiling the family name." It was meant as a joke, though there was no doubt about the reality of it. -- "It's fine, Mivienne. There's nothing anyone can do about it." Collis replied to her initial response, then returned to her offer, "If you knew someone who could paint our Andromeda Ship to look, well, non Andromeda, that would be great." He suggested. It wasn't anything big, like asking her to harbor fugitives or killing someone, so he thought it would be fair enough to ask.

Kasida couldn't help but snicker a little more. Oh this was so rich! And here she was, a result of careful breeding and training, how silly it was that their fates were more or less reversed. She studied him a little more while feeling herself get slightly more smug. It was a little ironic, in a way, but she kept her focus more on the dance anyway. Soon enough, she felt herself smile slightly, "I think beatings are the worst you'll get, they wouldn't want to damage a decent specimen over the family name" she said with a small smirk. -- Mivienne knew that there was no reason to be fine about this, but she didn't want to bring it up any more than she had to. A small smirk came to her lips as he asked about getting a paint job done on the ship they had. "Hm, I can manage that, I was hoping you'd give more of a challenge for me." she teased him gently before she heard the music start to end. "Any colors or specifics you'd want on it?" she asked.

Damian gave a wry smile at her comment. "Then you don't know my family to well. The aristocracy wouldn't care, I'm being avoided as is." He said, putting his hand up so she could spin as he followed the steps. "So, why did you decide to go against your family? I doubt it's anything similar to my situation." He inquired. Hopefully they would continue the conversation after the dance would end, as the music was nearing its finale, or, perhaps, Kasida would wrap it up by the end of the song. He'd prefer the first over the latter. "I haven't brought the design up with Kasida yet," Collis began, "But I was thinking black with red accents." He told her, listening as the music neared its end. "And isn't dancing with a fool a challenge enough?" He added in amusement.

"A shame, I thought I was in touch with the nobility, apparently I've lost that knack." Kasida shrugged to him while she was spun about for a moment or two, feeling a little sorry for him. It was nice to be able to follow his movements with ease and grace. A part of her was tempted to tell him what she had done to get herself into the armies and climb up the ranks, only to fall from corruption. A smirk came to her lips as the song ended, and she pulled herself back from him. "Mmh, I was raised to be a marriage tool, I was driven into war, so when my husband tried to have me on our wedding night, I killed him and was sent to the armies as if that would be punishment." she chuckled. Sure, there was more to the story than she let on anyway. Mivienne nodded while she was already picturing the design already. "Mmh, not too flashy, sounds discrete enough, do you have a name for the ship? I would have it written in white." she offered.

Mivienne smiled at the thought. She had a feeling it had been Harlan's idea, no reason to bring it up now. "I'll make sure it's on there." she assured him as she pat his shoulder tenderly.
Kasida couldn't help but laugh at the thought. "Mmh, I know, and I take it you're trying to compliment me? Careful, that's what he did to help win me over." she warned mockingly while she examined her nails for a moment or two. "Though I would hope there would be more to go on for you... Being a half breed can't be the only reason your family considers you lesser."

Garen was sitting on the roof of the dance hall when he noticed soldiers coming towards him from all angles. He cursed to himself, very graphically, then started to plan for an escape. There were eight paladins, Paladins were part of the largest piracy ship in the world - Seeker. The ship has a state of the art training program, starting when newcomers are children, or squires, and paladins were ranked right below members of "The Circle" or the people with the power. Scribes were the researchers, builders, mechanics, and engineers. Scribes are not forced to see battle unless they are field scribes, a scribe or knight that knows how to do both jobs gets promoted to a field scribe or paladin, the difference is field scribes wear light armor, and paladins wear power armor. Soldiers are their foot soldiers, they are strong and almost always have laser weaponry on their rifles, and are often equipped with pressure sensitive armor that often does other things. Knights would lay down their lives for the Seeker. Paladins are their combat strategists, not only are they strong like knights, they are smart like scribes. Paladins often have plasma weaponry, and heavy, hydraulic, or power armor. If a paladin dies, a knight would replace him. When a knight is sworn into paladinship, they have to spend two weeks in a silent meditation (btw this is all stolen from warriors, like the rankings and everything are based around it. We could go down this route for having a storyline, or we could continue being bounty hunters [well you two continue being bounty hunters] I like this thing i made up though.) Garen was taken by the seeker originally. He knew if they were outside, they must be inside, so he had to find some alternative. He sat up there while they beckoned him, and decided to just come down and give demands. He crawled down the side of the building and spoke "What are you guys doing? you can't just shoot this place up if there are people in it!" Paladin Noria "That would be fine, as it is in the name of the seeker!" she readied her rifle "He's right Noria" replied Paladin Newel with a sigh, he used to be a field scribe, and he was probably the smartest of the group "You have to come with us little thing" he spat "If you guys let me join the crew on the seeker i'll come with you, which was our deal, but you guys tried to sell us!" Garen was almost shouting "You know what... Fine! until you are sworn into knightship or scribeship you are an initiate. You can be an initiate." Paladin Drake had a softspot for the race "No he can't!" Replied Newel. "They aren't smart enough!" He was getting angry. This commotion went on for some time, and ball goers were coming out to see what the commotion was. It was quite a sight to see the little thing negotiating with crew members of the Seeker, the almost myth known as The Seeker

Garen looked at the creature about the size of him "You sure you want to do this?" He asked, pulling out a simple blaster, and readied himself for attack. It was probably quite a funny sight to see, a pet trying to help another pet fight intergalactic pirates.
The Paladins loaded their plasma rifles, all of the crew of The Seeker knew of the Lyrain, and how dangerous they can be Lyrain, but an Althaer and a Lyrain was not easy to deal with. Althaers were extremely agile, smart, and had very sharp claws. Lyrains were dangerous for obvious reasons. They feared for their lives at this point. Despite all of the eight having power armor.

(don't know what to post for Collis)
Damian shook his head. "Maybe. I think it has more to do with what the other half is. I'm half Drarith, as I've said, and the other half is Antith. You might not have heard lot the Antith's they haven't been a very prominent species since a couple centuries ago when the five main kingdoms seemed to just up and disappear. There's really not a lot of the Antith's left, but they aren't exactly the best people. Some are thieves or cheaters, most are hunters or assassins. It's not hard to see why I'm not well liked among Drariths, being mixed with a breed like that." He informed Kasida, waiting a few moments before adding, "That, and my wings are red." -- The little Lyrain bared his teeth at the people who were aiming their guns. He would transform his he had to. Well, saying he would transform and he could transform were two different things. Lyrains needed to be given a name in order to transform and the person who gave them a name, they'd have to obey. He hadn't been given a name yet, he was just suppose to be here to be sold, but some other creatures escaped down below and he'd escaped too.

Garen jumped onto Noria's face. She screamed as he scratched her up. The power armor often times had helmets, but Noria's didn't have one. He then jumped to the next one which shook him off quite easily. "Hey, Little Guy! You're gonna get shot!" He dodged plasma, as a piece of grass was charred next to him. Garen Shook his head and ran back towards Newel. Garen slid inbetween Newel's two legs and shot up, the soft underside of his armor allowed the laser to hit. Newel fell over in pain. More reinforcements were coming off the huge ship.

Little Guy. The name registered in the Lyrain's mind and he nodded. He searched through the bond and spoke telepathically to Garen, Garen, my master, I am your Lyrain! I'll help you! He leapt forward, transforming within five seconds, the sound of bones crushing and flesh tearing, coming out as a five foot, fur covered creature with long claws, large, royal blue eyes and sharp teeth. Muscles rippled beneath Little Guy's pelt and he pinned one of the men down, reaching down and grabbed the man's throat with his death and pulled, flesh breaking in his jaws and blood flooding his senses. He would kill each person threatening Garen. He looked over at his master with a happy, friendly, loyal smile, only tarnished by the blood that dripped from his mouth and off his thin, the flesh and muscle that showed poking out from his mouth. He dropped the flesh and looked around Garen for the person who'd shot at Garen, bloodlust radiating off him.

The Paladins screamed and apologized, bargaining for their lives. Oh woah, this is weird... so we share thoughts then? Garen looked at Little Guy as he teared through his second Paladin, four remained Stop please, we can save them, maybe they can help us Garen felt extremely bad for killing two of them, and didn't want Little Guy to go down the same path. Garen just dodged bullets instead of shooting back, repressing the killer in him temporarily.

Little Guy was about to lunge at another Paladin when he felt Garen's suppressed bloodlust and suppressed his own, syncing with his Master's feelings. He took in a deep breath and stood up straight, the sickening crunch of bone easy to hear and his fur dissipated where flesh should be, some attaching and changing altogether. What was left was a five-three young man with copper-red hair that was messy and he had royal blue eyes. Out of the side of his head were floppy, fluffy, russet furred dog-resembling ears. His skin was light and pale and he wore an orange button-down collared shirt with the top few buttons unbuttoned and he wore scarlet skinny-jeans and he was barefooted. "Ga-a-re-en!" He said happily with a wide smile, showing his pointed eyeteeth. He looked over at the Paladins and his face dropped into a glare, any trace of child-like naivety gone, glaring at them with cold, hard eyes. He was eighteen in human-looks so his facial structure was just defined enough to make him look threatening when glaring, but child-like enough with a large smile.

Garen looked at Little Guy surprisedly. "Wow... okay..." He looked over to the Paladins "What do you say" We could kill them, and they might allow us to join, but probationarily. In order to become a Knight you need a combat testing, if you were never a Squire. And often times Paladins die to newcomers Garen knew this because he was on The Seeker as a captive.

I was on their ship, a lot of them are nice He reasoned with Little Guy And there aren't many in the team that are as weird as us Garen Lowered his gun before apologizing "Please don't hurt us, it was only in defense." The Paladins were upset by the deaths, but were very impressed by the two. "Your combative skills are very good" Remarked Captain Lyra, she was clapping slowly. She had one decked out plasma pistol at her waist, along with an electric staff on her back. "Are you two gonna try and kill us all now?" She laughed at the thought.

"Ohh... A Lyrain, this makes things interesting" Lyra thought for a moment "Okay, there's no point in you two being initiates, so come on the ship then you can choose. Lyra led the two to a ship the size of a city. She led them through the metal beast, until they found a round room with a podium in the center. She walked up to the podium, and then veterans and trainees alike started to file into the room. "So we are here today to rejoice in the fact that we got two new people. Please tell me if you'd like to be a scribe or knight" She looked to little guy who was standing right in front of the podium Knights are soldiers, Scribes are engineers, scientists, researchers, and many other things. Garen explained, knowing Little Guy would not know.

Little Guy followed Lyra into the ship, looking around at the people they passed, staying keen and alert. He made sure to keep an eye on Garen too, just incase. He stood in front of the Podium as Lyra got up onto the podium and began speaking, slowly understanding what a Knight and Scribe were, getting a certain knowledge from Garen. "I'll be a knight, but I'm staying by Master Garen." He decided, voicing up to the Captain who still hadn't introduced herself, though it was clear she was the Captain by the way she held herself and the actions she carried out.

"Very well..." She said, placing her hand over his head "I, Lyra, Captain of The Seeker have sworn this Lyrain into knightship!" She rose her hand from his head, and clenched a fist. "For Gold, War, and Honor!" She shouted, everyone repeated after her, very excitedly. Lyra then placed a hand over Garen's head "And now we have an Althaer!" What would you like to be?" "A scribe" replied Garen "Hmm... Okay, what kind?" She didn't want this Althaer's combat abilities going to waste. "Possibly a personal, or field scribe, but i'd like to work my way up to a Scout" Replied Garen "Alright. Today we are also allowing in this Althaer scribe." She raised her hand from Garen's head, and made a fist "For Gold, War, and Honor!" Everyone started cheering as the ceremony ended. Lyra led them to their quarters, and left them until morning.
