Collis sluggishly opened his eyes and stood up. Whatever. It didn't matter. It was just one more dead person, right? It didn't matter. He repeated those words over in his head for what seemed like ages until he heard footsteps. "Kasida, let me out." He said, voice hard. He felt along where his weapons had been. They were all gone. "I won't kill you. It's about time we get to the cockpit and leave the Milky Way, wouldn't you agree?" He asked. He was already moving past this, thinking ahead. They could sell all these scrawny people, well, minus the imp. She would make a good enough pet. -And a mechanic would prove useful. They would get the ship all patched up and they could probably paint it all black with red and white accents, if Kasida let him. He let out a small laugh at that thought. Since when did he console Kasida about things like that? "Oh, and I want my weapons back." He added. Just another dead body. He had Kasida, anyway.

Kasida walked to the gate with the jar of Harlan dust, and her notes in hand. "You're awake..." she managed to say. How typical... She sighed to herself while setting the things down and watching him for a moment or two. He didn't seem angry with her? She didn't trust him for a second. If she was in his shoes, she would have tried to raise hell if it meant revenge. There she went again, going through her emotions all over again. "I... I don't trust you with weapons right now... You have to know why..." she said while she picked up the duffel bag of his weapons and slung them over her shoulder. "I'll take them with us, I promise." Of course she planned on keeping them from him for now, but she still pressed the buttons carefully to unlock his cage. Then she picked up the Harlan powder with a sigh. "Collis, I..." no, it sounded ridiculous, but she had to try. "Please know I never wanted to do that... There was smoke and I was so angry..." she bit her lip to keep herself from crying. "She left us notes." she said as she handed both to him, it was only fair since she also read the one for him. It was best to just be honest with him at this point. "I'm sorry."

"Alright then, I expected that to go a lot worse." Ellie remarked, turning to face the guy. "When I tried calling them idiots they attempted to kill me, so I guess they just like you more. Now let's see what we can do about all this overheating, yeah? Name's Ellie, by the way." She started walking towards the life support room, not really checking to see if the other was following her. It wasn't like she could out-walk anybody. Like she'd said, the problem probably wasn't in the life support room itself, but going there would allow her to see and monitor the exact temperatures in different areas of the ship and give her maps of the different pipelines running through the ship. Both pieces of information would help her locate a break in the pipes if there was one. If the temperatures were uniform across the board then that pointed to either a software failure, which this new guy was better equipped to fix, or a pump or storage tank failure that she could fix.

"That's fine. Sorry." Collis said simply, walking over as the cell was powered down. Collis took the cards and threw them behind him. "Just another dead person. Doesn't matter, we kill people all the time." He said, walking toward the room's exit. "As I said, we should head to the nearest black market -or, actually, I think there was a party being held. Something about a slave auction afterwards, we can sell the prisoners to them." He said simply. If he thought about Harlan as just another person killed, something that didn't really matter, the pain started to ebb away. "By the way," he said as he walked out of the room, "how's your pet? We, or you, oughta tell her we're taking control as Pilots now." He decided to head for the cockpit. It would be a nice distraction.

Kasida frowned softly at his behavior. This wasn't right. She knew that much. She let out a long sigh while she hastily picked up the cards and kept them in the inner pocket of her jacket. Sooner or later he was going to have to accept this reality. For now, she figured he was going to be putting on a brave face until they had taken care of the prisoners. That may take a while. All the same, she simply knew she had to play along with this until he broke. It took a lot to break him, she knew that much. "Will do." she murmured before walking towards the life support room where she figured the little imp was with her new buddy. Well, maybe they could keep the other one until he stepped out of line. "Hey, little one..." Kasida walked to the room before looking to her. "Hey, Collis and I are going to be piloting, I'll keep tabs on him and make sure he doesn't bother you." she said while patting the top of her head. "I'm Kasida Nydia by the way." she added as more of an afterthought before she started to walk back, still within earshot though.

Kasida slowly walked over to the cockpit before she settled herself down in the other seat so she could do some of the monitoring. She kept her focus more on the stars than anything else. Would they find a newborn star or a nebula? She bit her lip at the thought. Maybe she would hopefully prompt him about that when he was ready to talk about it and find acceptance. She leaned back in her seat for a moment or two, unable to really let her guard down.

"Will you please stop doing that? I get it, I'm short as hell, there's no need to rub it in." Ellie snapped in response to being patted on the head a second time. "My name's Ellie. Tell the big fella not to try any combat or go FTL for too long until the coolant's fixed, please. I'd prefer if we weren't all baked alive." Slight exaggeration there, but only by a little bit. When Kasida walked out of earshot she turned to Ray and stated simply, "No, give me a second here and then I'll radio up to the cockpit. Knowing these Andromeda thugs they probably have it on a sticky note somewhere." She continued fiddling around with the wires in the access panel she was working on, tugging on one of them experimentally and watching as Ray's monitor shut off for a split second before coming back on without the security screen. "I guess I don't have to ask. Looks like the security system is separate but physically wired to every console. At least that's what I'd guess by that response. You're in though, however that works."

"Perfect. Thanks." Ray said when she got him past security. He went through a few files and easily found a map of the ship's layout. "Alright, the control center is on the other side of the ship in the bottommost level. I'll do a quick scan to see if I can find something on the system." He said, tapping in some things. He scrolled through another list and clicked on a series of words, bringing up a screen of warnings and alerts. "Looks like we've got an hour before the entire system shuts off. It's in the ship's programming, I think. It's similar to when I hacked into auto pilot, the system kept trying to rebuild its firewalls automatically to push me out. The system will automatically shut down so that there wouldn't be anything left to heat up the ship, therefore keeping wires from frying, generators from exploding etc." He explained, though he was sure Ellie already knew this stuff.

"You're like the opposite of me" Jocelyn joked. Avanols were the product of human genetic mutation, and were victims of prejudice because of it. She walked back to her scrappy ship's cockpit to help the the old thing pilot. The ship had a very poor autopilot, and was prone to forgetting about stars. "Are you from earth too?"

"Hmm. I suppose I could go and unplug the security system from every other system, but it would be more efficient if we could just turn off the shutdown. I'll be honest, I'm more of a hardware girl than a software girl so if there's any programming or hacking to be done you better do it." Ellie hummed for a moment while she tucked the wires back into the panel and closed it, making a mental note to come back and reconnect the security once they'd figured out how to change the password or something. For whatever trouble the system was giving them now, it would be worse to get caught without security should an enemy hacker be present. "Shall we head down to the control center then?"

He would need his weapons when they got to the party. There were a number of people that he was sure would be attending and he wasn't exactly on good terms with them. "Oh, Kasida, could you bring up the information on the party?" He asked. He needed to know what planet they were going to, he only knew it was in the Andromeda System.

"Yeah, that sounds good. Let me see if I can find the password first, though. It'd be a lot less work than turning off then back on the system." Ray said, swiping through files. He pulled up an information key on the systems programming. On the side showed how to change the passcode. "Alright, we need crew identification and a thumbprint. I guess it's smart since no one would think to use such an old system lock for a back-door entrance." He said, amusement lacing his voice. Now, we just need to drag a crew member down here or just take their ID and cut off their thumb." He mused. When Ellie suggested them going, he nodded. "Yeah, we can change the password later, for now we need to fix the problem at hand." He moved away from the monitor and followed Ellie out.

"Why would you...?" Kasida pursed her lips at him before she soon took out a wrist watch so she could pull up some holographic images to the window for a moment or two. "Andromeda system... The planet is Corant... That's one of the melting pots of the system." she said to him while she looked over some of the notes for a moment or two. "We simply socialize and sell off the prisoners? I... I bet we could find a guy to do a paint job on this ship... And we'll need to change the license-ship of it too..." she mused.

Kasida set away the notes before leaning herself back in the chair for a moment or two. "I'll give you back your weapons when we get there, it would be stupid to have you come with me unarmed." she pointed out to him as she felt her eyes starting to droop. No way was she going to fall asleep like this. She tried to focus more on the stars and whatnot. "We'll make a stop in the ocean." she mumbled.

"Mmh..." Kasida mumbled a little bit while she leaned over to grab a cloak to put over her front like a blanket. That was one of the curses about having wings. "I'm the scariest I know..." she murmured in an attempt to tease, but closed her eyes a little more. "Fine..." she added while she was already trying to calm herself down. Of course this had to be he stupidest thing she was doing, allowing herself to rest despite the risk he could slice her neck.

(I wouldn't mind that) Kasida felt herself snapping awake as she could hear the sickening rip of flesh opening up. She had been sweating too. She glanced over lazily to see that Collis was having headphones on. Some things never changed. "Collis." she murmured while reaching over to tentatively nudge his shoulder. Maybe it was out of tenderness and pity. Or it could have been out of fear. Now there was a word she never thought she could bring herself to associate with him. For the time being, she genuinely was afraid of him and his potential unpredictability. "Hey, are we there yet?" she asked him.

Kasida blinked at him, surprised, then stood up shakily while walking towards the controls. She figured that it wouldn't be too hard to find parking for this party and get herself groomed enough for that. Soon enough, she was already getting the usual hang for the controls. She sighed to herself while keeping her eyes focused on the areal plane ahead of her before she soon found some secure parking. A part of her wasn't worried about Ellie or her new friend escaping. She figured that they would see they had a fighting chance here and just make repairs for a while. She stood up before she walked to a simple military shower, unfortunately it wasn't big enough for her wings. So she opted to groom herself with her wings sticking out, and soon got situated into her gear once more. That was when she walked back to the seats so she could rouse Collis.

Collis sleepily blinked open his light, blue-flecked, red-brown, russet eyes. There were already parked. He'd managed to get some sleep in and he'd been to tired to dream about anything, luckily. He looked over at Kasida. He frowned. "You know this is a formal party, right?" He asked. "There are also people who won't be participating in the afterwards slave-trade, it'd be odd to show up in full gear. Tense, to say the least." He pointed out. That was one reason he hadn't been considering attending the party. Kasida would've been a third wheel if he and Harlan had attended as a couple. But, anyway, he had two pairs of extra clothes down in the cell area along with a spare gun. One pair of clothing was casual incase they needed to lie low for a bit, the other pair was formal. "I'll get changed." He said, rising from his chair and heading down to the cells. He easily found where his clothes had been placed and made his way to the bathroom and the military shower which was annoyingly small. Whatever. Showers were showers. He turned on the water to hot and stepped into the steaming water, relishing the warmth as it woke him up. He scrubbed his horns with a wet towel and soap until he'd gotten all the grime off of them and their glossy surface shown near-black. He stepped out of the shower, for once not smelling of smoke, and changed into his clothes. It was a dark grey tux with a burgundy, collared, button-down shirt underneath and a simple grey tie. He also had a place for a gun and grenade on the inside of his suit, though they currently had no weapon in them. He ran a towel through his hair until it was damped and combed it slightly, though it still retained its messy form. He stepped out and scanned the area for Kasida. (By the way, Collis is going to be pissed when he finds out that Ellie has his favorite gun)

(Heheheh, yay for mayhem!) Kasida frowned at the mention of it being a formal party. This meant she had to be more vulnerable than anything else. She nearly growled to him, but thought better and had walked off to get an old dress she once got. She didn't want to remember Harlan forcing her to get it in case such an event happened, but low and behold, it was called upon for such an occasion. She examined herself in the mirror for a moment or two, surprised to find her brown skin was now gleaming with her silver tribal tattoos. It had been that long since she had been cleaned? She shuddered while her violet eyes narrowed at such an idea. She forced herself to undo her black hair and let it fall loose over her shoulders in soft waves. At least then she took the time to polish up her horns to where they were a lovely silver. She purred slightly to herself as she was happy to see the dress still fit, and took no pains to hide what a lithe figure she had underneath armor and gear. She kept on her boots, they were sleek enough to be part of the outfit anyway. She brushed out her hair some more before soon strutting out to the front of the ship as she was loading up a pistol and fiddling with some knives, she wasn't too focused on finding Collis until she looked up, surprised at his change in looks.

Kasida raised an eyebrow to him before giving him a little, playful growl. "You don't look bad yourself, handsome for once." she added with a bit of a laugh before she walked towards the duffel bag to take a gun out for him. She knew that he was thinking of the white-fire gun. She had her own custom black fire-gun on her side. She would have loved to take a sword with her, but that would probably have been too flashy for things anyway. "It's loaded, and the safety on." she told him as she pinned the knifes into her hair since they were functional enough to act as hairpins. "Ready to go? We can have the prisoners escorted to the auction..." she offered to him.

"We're at the Nolina, and you're lucky this tiny docking ship has any form of gls navigation" Jocelyn told the two "I'm going to request docking, but it looks out of order." Half the ship seemed depressurized and almost blown to bits. She sent out a comm, and no one answered "I think something bad happened here, was it piracy?" She flew to right outside the ship's bridge which was still pressurized " I can't afford to use the docks, they're too dangerous, so we're gonna use the access panel in the bridge. " She pulled out her spacesuit, gesturing to three others. Jocelyn left through the airlock on the top of her ship, and her magnetic boots allowed her to stick to the roof of the wreck known as the Nolina. She waited at the airlock for the other two.

He took the gun greatfully, glad she knew which one he wanted without having to ask, and set it in its slip on the inside of his tux. "Alright, we'll have to take the prisoners around the back to the host, so no one sees." He mused, heading toward where the prisoners were and did a quick headcount. "Eleven," He murmured, looking back over to Kasida.
