Honestly, I figured 3rd and 1st would be pretty popular, but 2nd?? That's the one that gets me. I despise 2nd person, it just reads so wrong for fiction. Its fine for song writing, otherwise no, just no. To pull it off one has to be VERY good! First person I liek when it is well done. Sometimes tho 1st person can get rambling. . .

Of the stories I have listed, Blazing is my favorite. It basically takes the common question of "What if Bluestar never gave up her kits?", and answers it in the most interesting way possible. Some of my favorite things about it are: Thistleclaw is still leader, and Thunderclan isn't destroyed; Firepaw getting chased into Riverclan territory, and joining Riverclan; Grasspelt and Heavystep getting development; Fireheart still being friends with Graystripe, and falling in love with Sandstorm, even though both are in Thunderclan, and Fireheart is in Riverclan; Yellowfang still being found by Fireheart, and joining Riverclan; and Bluefur and the most scatterbrained Shadowclan warrior ever accompanying Fireheart on his journey to bring back Windclan.

That sounds really cool, actually. i don't usually read stories with canon characters in them, but this sounds pretty good.

1. What POV do you prefer to read in general? I personally like third person, as it allows lots of room fro description of the character and their surroundings. However, any works for me if done well and I'm not picky. Second person is really hard to do, but when written well it's incredibly intriguing.
2. What genres do you like reading most? You may pick two. I love to read fantasy and psychological thrillers. Fantasy can be so creative and the world building is fascinating. Psychological are super interesting and keep you on the edge of your seat.
3. What annoys you most about some fanfictions? If you can't have good grammar, you shouldn't be writing a 'fic. That's my blunt opinion. No one wants to read some thrown-together piece of writing that looks like an elementary schooler read it. Also, I hate 2D character. They're just so boring, especially when they are the main characters. A few flat side characters I can handle, but when they are the focus of the plot? No. Just no.
4. What's one story cliche you wish would change? There are so freaking many. But what I really hate is how every decently important character has a smoking' hot love interest who appears out of nowhere, or maybe a kid-next-door type character who suddenly gets all attractive and mature as soon as the story starts. It just irritates me. Yes, a lot of people in the world have relationships. However, at least try to spice it up, and maybe let your character be - wait for it - single for a littler bit *le gasp*. "But how could my dear perfect, beautiful character ever be without a lover?" you ask. Well, being single is a pretty normal thing too, if you didn't realize.
5. How important is grammar to you while reading a story? Important. I think if you take the time to write a story and want to take pride in it, you should have good grammar. I don't even care if you have to ask someone to edit it for you; I don't judge for that kind of thing. But at least give it a decent shot. No one wants to read something randomly riddled with errors.
6. Are there any prefixes or suffixes that you absolutely hate? If so, which ones? Anything unrealistic that cats would likely have no idea about. Like how the heck are cats supposed to know about platinum or zircon or guns or something? Don't name your cat something like that. Also, belly has always been a weird suffix. It just doesn't fit. There are a few other suffixes like that, but I can't recall them off the top of my head.
7. Are there any prefixes or suffixes that you absolutely love? If so, which ones? Nah. Anything that flows well and is realistic I like.
8. Do you prefer short chapters, or long ones? In between, but if I had to choose long. Too short is just annoying, like you couldn't put enough effort in to write chapters like in a real book. They are choppy and seem to just try and grab you attention. Too, long, though, and I'm staring at a screen forever just to read one chapter, which can be tough on the eyes if it's a fanfiction. But in a regular book, that's fine. 9. What is the ideal number of chapters to a story in general? I'm not sure. it really depends usually 20 or more, though less or more can definitely work depending on the story. I'm not super picky. 10. Do banners affect whether or not you'll read a fanfiction? If so, how? Yes. It shows the author put thought into the fanfiction and wanted to make it look nice. A nice layout makes everything seem more put-together and classy. It makes me want to read it. Nice titles also help draw me in. Not overly fancy, but with fitting font and a dramatic title. 11. Does the author affect if you'll read a fanfction? As in, would you read a fic written by a well known author over a newer one? Yup, tbh. I feel a little bad, but if I know I like an author and I've read their works before, I'm way more likely to read their stories.
12. Are polls enjoyable for a story? As in, is it fun to interact with the story and author and possibly influence the story itself with polls? yes! I love to interact with them and think they are fun. Though I don't like when the story is influenced by the polls too much. Then that just seems a little weird, like the author is no longer writing the story.
13. How often do you 'stealth read?'(reading without posting to the author that you are indeed reading their story) not that often, but every now and then if i don't have time/energy to post a comment. Usually, though, I like to at least comment what I thought about the writing.
14. Finally, favorite fanfictions so far?(I'll be nice and let you choose 3) Curse by Shadow. New Blood by Phantomstar (I think I got their name right). And I love a bunch of others I can't choose between the rest.

I just had to add an opinion about names. I'm pretty flexible, since kittypets that join the Clans would know about human things or perhaps name a kit after another they once knew with an odd name. Angel was a tough one LOL as its a character created by a fan. Well, since both Kyestorm and Demonstone were pampered kittypets before fire drove them from their home, they knew "angel" but not because they understood the human concept of what an angel is, but because one of Demonstone's sisters was named Angel B. That is what I did with many oddball names I did use. If you have a name you wish to use, get creative in introducing it and where it came from.

1. What POV do you prefer to read in general? Third-person. I don't really like first-person that much at all. I also really like reading from the villains perspective (because they don't see themselves as the villain, so it's interesting to see how their perspective rationalizes their actions.).2. What genres do you like reading most? You may pick two. Fanfiction wise, I like angst. Another one, which I don't know the official name of, is horror/supernatural-y stuff; I love when people include folklore, paranormal and fantasy type stuff in their stories.3. What annoys you most about some fanfictions? No worldbuilding. I find a lot of fanfictions have a really dry world. Even canon clans are really boring with no real distinction between them.
No character development.
Weird names. I'm a traditional namer so I'm boring (traditional= prefix describes their pelt colour, whereas their suffix is based off of skill or traits). I'll still read a story with really lyrical names but I much prefer a naming system.4. What's one story cliche you wish would change? Chosen one or prophecies.
Oh and stuffing disabled cats into positions they don't want because they 'aren't useful anymore'. I hate that so much.5. How important is grammar to you while reading a story? I can tolerate a few mistakes but constant errors are a bit of a turn-off.6. Are there any prefixes or suffixes that you absolutely hate? If so, which ones? I'm not a fan of really lyrical names. -flight, -strike, -shine, -soul etc. I'm cool with any prefix as long as it's something cats would know about, and it makes sense.
7. Are there any prefixes or suffixes that you absolutely love? If so, which ones? Prefixes: Mink-, Boar-, Leech-, Frost-, Snow-, Tansy-, Spider-, Speckle- Suffixes: -whisker, -flower, -stream
8. Do you prefer short chapters, or long ones? Long!
9. What is the ideal number of chapters to a story in general? Any amount the author needs to complete their story. I've read one with close to 80 chapters and over 500K words and it was AMAZING.
10. Do banners affect whether or not you'll read a fanfiction? If so, how? I personally suck at banners and coding so I understand if authors don't want to include it. Doesn't influence me either way.
11. Does the author affect if you'll read a fanfction? As in, would you read a fic written by a well known author over a newer one? Nope! Though I have my favourite authors who I'd read anything by.
12. Are polls enjoyable for a story? As in, is it fun to interact with the story and author and possibly influence the story itself with polls? I don't know, honestly. Haven't read many stories with polls!
13. How often do you 'stealth read?'(reading without posting to the author that you are indeed reading their story) On the wcf I would comment, but on ao3 and ff I am kind of bad for not
14. Finally, favorite fanfictions so far?(I'll be nice and let you choose 3) Shattered and it's sequel, Chilled by Prin Pardus on FF. I actually cried at one point. SOOOO GOOD. Warriors Redeux on Tumblr.
I have to read some of the ones on here lol.

Ooo, I like surveys. 1. What POV do you prefer to read in general? - Third person for most stories.2. What genres do you like reading most? You may pick two. - I like fantasy books in general, so cats with powers are cool. - I like humor books? Not really spoofs, but things that are kinda funny(makes jokes) I like.3. What annoys you most about some fanfictions? - Unique names. Brownpelt is a fine name in my opinion, but Crystalhorizon looks very odd.4. What's one story cliche you wish would change? - I can't say.5. How important is grammar to you while reading a story? - It is vital to have decent grammar.6. Are there any prefixes or suffixes that you absolutely hate? If so, which ones? - Moon-, -moon, Ghost-, -spirit, Death-, or anything like those. Unless there's a good reason.7. Are there any prefixes or suffixes that you absolutely love? If so, which ones? - Oh yes. Beetle-, Snail-, Toad-, Juniper-, Rowan-, Berry-, Beech-, and probably more.8. Do you prefer short chapters, or long ones? - SHORT9. What is the ideal number of chapters to a story in general? - Depends on the length of chapters. The amount of chapters and the length of chapters should correlate directly. I try to make my fanfictions between 20 and 30 chapters, like the canon books. I accidentally made a story that was sixty chapters.10. Do banners affect whether or not you'll read a fanfiction? If so, how? - Ehh, I don't think so. I normally read fanfictions on Wattpad.11. Does the author affect if you'll read a fanfction? As in, would you read a fic written by a well known author over a newer one? - Oh, that never matters to me. I have a fairly low loyalty to authors.12. Are polls enjoyable for a story? As in, is it fun to interact with the story and author and possibly influence the story itself with polls? - Oh yeah, I love polls. Please don't close them though. Also, I prefer not to influence a story.13. How often do you 'stealth read?'(reading without posting to the author that you are indeed reading their story) - Very often. I don't have much to say, usually.14. Finally, favorite fanfictions so far?(I'll be nice and let you choose 3) I'm a Wattpad reader. - Shadows of (the?) Blood on Wattpad is a good one. - Though I haven't finished it, Hollyfrost's Ash to Ash is pretty good.I'm going to revise this a little.

This is a little survey to see what people like to read here in Fanfiction. I thought the answers might help me with my writing, and possibly some other people as well. I also thought it may help us authors to appeal a bit more to our audience. Please answer honestly, and thank you for your time.
1. What POV do you prefer to read in general? Third person limited/omniscient. I'm sorry, but second person just feels weird to me and I only like first person situationally. 2. What genres do you like reading most? You may pick two. Fantasy, just general fiction. 3. What annoys you most about some fanfictions? When good fics die off suddenly without any sort of explanation and don't get picked back up again, cookie-cutter plots and characters, there's most likely more but I can't think of much right now. 4. What's one story cliche you wish would change? The whole "abused person who is abused for literally no reason rises up and enslaves their oppressors" type of story is getting really old now and I wish it would just stop. 5. How important is grammar to you while reading a story? Like I've said before: unless you have a learning disability or your first language is not English/whatever language you're writing the story in, you have no excuse to spell everything wrong and such. 6. Are there any prefixes or suffixes that you absolutely hate? If so, which ones? I don't really like some of the longer ones, such as "Butterfly". And some things that describe actions, like Bounce- and Leap-. 7. Are there any prefixes or suffixes that you absolutely love? If so, which ones? Eel- [though not covered in the series], Hawk-, Otter-, -frost, -throat. Cherry- is good, too, and Eagle-. Also Lynx-, though noncanon. 8. Do you prefer short chapters, or long ones? Mid-length to long. Can't tell an entire story in 3 paragraphs, unless it's a trollfic. At least, I don't believe that you can tell it well. 9. What is the ideal number of chapters to a story in general? Around normal book length, i.e. 20-25 chapters. 10. Do banners affect whether or not you'll read a fanfiction? If so, how? I mean, I'll try to read the stuff anyways, but some types of banners just irritate me to no end. 11. Does the author affect if you'll read a fanfiction? As in, would you read a fic written by a well known author over a newer one? Nope! I'll give anything a try at least once, even if I know nothing about the fandom or the characters. 12. Are polls enjoyable for a story? As in, is it fun to interact with the story and author and possibly influence the story itself with polls? Unless it's a "Choose your own adventure" type of deal, I personally feel like that's a lazy way to do things. Like, it seems as though you can't be bothered to come up with a plot, so you're just asking people fot suggestions. 13. How often do you 'stealth read?'(reading without posting to the author that you are indeed reading their story) I don't have an account on certain sites/they don't let you have guest accounts, so. A lot. 14. Finally, favorite fanfictions so far? (I'll be nice and let you choose 3) www.fanfiction.net/s/8529130/1/Firewalker [Was never finished and I am mad] www.fanfiction.net/s/6092778/1/S-H-A-T-T-E-R-E-D [Dude, I love Prin Pardus's writing style so much] www.fanfiction.net/s/5663800/1/The-Art-of-Pretending-It-Isn-t-Your-Fault [Don't even ship Duncney, but Rina and Stray's characterization is a beautiful, beautiful thing]

1. What POV do you prefer to read in general?
- I honestly love first and third person. Especially if the villain of the story is shown in first. It builds suspense, to me.
2. What genres do you like reading most? You may pick two.
- Fantasy - Mystery
3. What annoys you most about some fanfictions?
- Obvious prophecies. I know it's super hard to actually make a good prophecy (trust me, I've tried too) but I'd prefer that the authors just go without instead of making an obvious clue as to what's going to happen. - It depends on the clan and location, but bizarre naming. In a traditional clan, names shouldn't really be too crazy.
4. What's one story cliche you wish would change?
- Villains being evil for the sake of being evil.
5. How important is grammar to you while reading a story?
-It's pretty important to me, but if the story is good enough, I can force myself to overlook it long enough to read, and then I might try to help the author if they want me to.
6. Are there any prefixes or suffixes that you absolutely hate? If so, which ones?
- Names that imply a character is evil, (Blood-, Bone-, Death-, etc.) unless it's a clan that actually names characters this way. It needs to be the norm, not the exception, otherwise, it bugs me.
7. Are there any prefixes or suffixes that you absolutely love? If so, which ones?
- I'm a really big fan of names that imply color through animal names. I don't know why, it's just super cute to me. Names like Mouse, Goose, Fox, Raven, etc.
8. Do you prefer short chapters, or long ones?
- Honestly, I prefer a lot of short chapters over a few long ones, but it doesn't grind my gears either way. I have a really short attention span, and if chapters are really long, I'll accidentally read the same line a few times and it throws off the flow of the story.
9. What is the ideal number of chapters to a story in general?
- As an exact number, maybe 25 chapters max?
10. Do banners affect whether or not you'll read a fanfiction? If so, how?
- I won't ignore a story if it doesn't have a banner, but I have to admit, a nice banner and a pretty layout catch my attention.
11. Does the author affect if you'll read a fanfction? As in, would you read a fic written by a well known author over a newer one?
- Not really. I plan to read as many fics on WFF as possible, but I'm starting with titles that catch my attention, not authors.
12. Are polls enjoyable for a story? As in, is it fun to interact with the story and author and possibly influence the story itself with polls?
- I love polls!
13. How often do you 'stealth read?'(reading without posting to the author that you are indeed reading their story)
- I'm waaaaaaay too guilty of this, and I'm trying to get myself to stop.
14. Finally, favorite fanfictions so far?(I'll be nice and let you choose 3)
- How the Mighty Fall - Tigerstar's Betrayal - What is the Sound of Peace?
(In no particular order, mind you)

1. What POV do you prefer to read in general? Third person. Though I don't mind second person either.
2. What genres do you like reading most? You may pick two. Slice of life and psychological. Does the former count as a genre? Probably.
3. What annoys you most about some fanfictions? Generally? I know people complain about this a lot, but... Love triangles. Love triangles themselves are fine, but when a character spends almost the entire fic dwelling on a decision between which person to pursue a relationship with? That's when I have an issue. It's repetitive and gets kind of grating after a while. That and (in regards to Warriors fanfics specifically) the near constant inclusion/heavy focus on a prophecy. There doesn't have to be some big cosmic prophesied event in your story for it to be investing. Also, this is more of a pet peeve, but when people quote direct lines from canon in their fic. It tends to feel a little too forced, but that could just be me.
4. What's one story cliche you wish would change? "The Chosen One" plot cliche. I've only ever seen one instance where this cliche was done in a creative and investing way, which isn't a good sign.
5. How important is grammar to you while reading a story? Reasonably. If you make a couple of grammar mistakes here and there then that's fine, not everybody has the sense to proofread or somebody to provide a second opinion. But if I can't understand a word you're saying? Yeah, no.
6. Are there any prefixes or suffixes that you absolutely hate? If so, which ones? Anything to do with a man-made object or something that the characters in that specific environment wouldn't know anything about (e.g. naming a cat that lives in a cold climate Cactuswing).
7. Are there any prefixes or suffixes that you absolutely love? If so, which ones? Pretty much any stereotypical pretty queen suffixes; Flower, song, cloud, light, etc. I really like the suffixes hawk, claw, runner, belly and wind too. But prefix-wise? Nah, not really. Or at least nothing comes to mind, anyway.
8. Do you prefer short chapters, or long ones? If it's a short fic? Long chapters. If it's a long fic? Short chapters.
9. What is the ideal number of chapters to a story in general? 10-12 for me personally, unless I get really invested. In which case it can span on as long as it needs to.
10. Do banners affect whether or not you'll read a fanfiction? If so, how? Nope. Not at all.
11. Does the author affect if you'll read a fanfction? As in, would you read a fic written by a well known author over a newer one? Also no. If the fic has an interesting or creative premise, I'll give it a shot. Regardless of the author.
12. Are polls enjoyable for a story? As in, is it fun to interact with the story and author and possibly influence the story itself with polls? Yeah, I'd say so. Not integral to getting enjoyment out of a story by any means, but it's a neat little side thing.
13. How often do you 'stealth read?'(reading without posting to the author that you are indeed reading their story) Almost always. I very rarely comment on stories.
14. Finally, favorite fanfictions so far? (I'll be nice and let you choose 3) Sadly, I can't really say. I've read so many good fics that it's all just kind of muddled together at this point.

1. What POV do you prefer to read in general? Third person
2. What genres do you like reading most? You may pick two. Mystery, Horror
3. What annoys you most about some fanfictions? The short, choppy sentences and horrible grammar. Cliche plots are not appreciated, and neither are prophecy kits.
4. What's one story cliche you wish would change? I wish fanfictions wouldn't always have to center around kit(s) being in a prophecy and having to save whatever, even with more unique tones to it. I would be happier if they changed it a bit instead of prophecy kits, but if the author makes it work well into a good plot then I applaud them.
5. How important is grammar to you while reading a story? VERY. I try my best to use good grammar in anything, so I feel that when writing a fanfiction it is very important. Minor blips once every chapter or so only mildly annoy me, but misspelled titles and large mistakes drive me crazy. Please... If you'd like to make a fanfiction and don't have the best grammar, try and use a proofreading app or get someone to check it over.
6. Are there any prefixes or suffixes that you absolutely hate? If so, which ones? I hate the suffixes "belly", "face", and any strange parts of the body. It makes me burst out with laughter. Most prefixes are okay except the perfect ones or/and ones that are forbidden like "flower", "moon", "star", "starry", "sparkle", etc. The majority of common prefixes are okay as long as the suffix fits and flows well with everything.
7. Are there any prefixes or suffixes that you absolutely love? If so, which ones? Yes! I really love "Breeze", and natural things as prefixes because they sound just like music to my ears. I prefer that these prefixes are not followed by things such as "pelt" or "fur" though. I love when unique names work in general, and when they flow well. The suffixes I like aren't very particular either, they just have to flow well.
8. Do you prefer short chapters, or long ones? I prefer medium length of chapters, but as long as enough detail is put in.
9. What is the ideal number of chapters to a story in general? Depends on the story, but for a heavily and complicated one with a large plot I suggest 40+ if possible.
10. Do banners affect whether or not you'll read a fanfiction? If so, how? No. If the banner is a poorly drawn picture of a forest, I'll still read it but have a lesser opinion of it from an aesthetic point of view. If the banner looks nice I will read the fanfic too, just think of it as more professional-looking. Never judge a book by the cover! :3
11. Does the author affect if you'll read a fanfction? As in, would you read a fic written by a well known author over a newer one? Not really. I know that new authors can be brilliant, and would never think of not reading a story by a new author. If I know the author is very good at plots and grammar, etc., then maybe I would consider reading theirs before a new one.
12. Are polls enjoyable for a story? As in, is it fun to interact with the story and author and possibly influence the story itself with polls? Polls are sometimes enjoyable if they don't contain spoilers, and are a fun little addition to the fanfic fan experience.
13. How often do you 'stealth read?'(reading without posting to the author that you are indeed reading their story) Oh my, too much. I've made it my goal to read all the fanfics on this forum, and I'm devoting my time to it. I stealth read nearly all the time because I'm not a committed enough fan.
14. Finally, favorite fanfictions so far?(I'll be nice and let you choose 3) I can't reveal my favorites or my ninja stealth reading skills will be ruined, sorry.

No problem at all! Thank you for conjuring it up in the first place. It was fun to read other people's thoughts and reflect on things a little. c:

1. What POV do you prefer to read in general? Mainly 3rd person. I don't like the other two as much.
2. What genres do you like reading most? You may pick two. Romance and adventure.
3. What annoys you most about some fanfictions? Probably the terrible grammar some fics have. It's understandable if it's a word here or there but like every few words just makes an unpleasant reading experience. Oh and long blocks of text too.
4. What's one story cliche you wish would change? Mary Sues and Gary Stus.
5. How important is grammar to you while reading a story? It's very important. Although a misspelled word here and there etc is ok.
6. Are there any prefixes or suffixes that you absolutely hate? If so, which ones? None that I can think of.
7. Are there any prefixes or suffixes that you absolutely love? If so, which ones? None that particularly stick out.
8. Do you prefer short chapters, or long ones? It depends. If it's got a good plot, likeable characters and the writing is nice, I'll want as many long chapters as I can haha. I also don't mind short either, I'll read about any length.
9. What is the ideal number of chapters to a story in general? Hmm, maybe somewhere in the 20s. More than that might be too much, but dats my opinion.
10. Do banners affect whether or not you'll read a fanfiction? If so, how? Nope.
11. Does the author affect if you'll read a fanfction? As in, would you read a fic written by a well known author over a newer one? I'm willing to give every author a chance.
12. Are polls enjoyable for a story? As in, is it fun to interact with the story and author and possibly influence the story itself with polls? I think they're fun and a chance for the readers to interact with the author of said story.
13. How often do you 'stealth read?'(reading without posting to the author that you are indeed reading their story) A lot lol. I need to get better about commenting on stories.
14. Finally, favorite fanfictions so far?(I'll be nice and let you choose 3) I read a lot of them but don't really have any favorites.
