"Fear not, he's dauntless on the battle field." Coran swore, nodding seriously, and using his hands to make the dog nod too, "See? He's agreeing with me." Kain was probably a cat person, but Coran wouldn't hold that against him. No one was perfect. "I think I'll leave him on the ship today though, Kydos would be too hot for him." He pursed his lips. He didn't like leaving his friend behind, but there was water and shade on the ship, two things that would not be guaranteed on the island. Better safe then sorry. "Last time we went somewhere too warm, he burnt his pads on the rocks, it was horrible." The navigator winced like he'd been hurt too. "Do you think he'll get lonely if I leave him alone?" "Mean and greedy." She shrugged, "It is not their fault, they live in a place that makes them cruel. Even the few children are quite evil. One tried to cut some of my hair off last time." She frowned, remembering the miserable little wretch with a rusty pair of scissors. She dragged her hand along her long braid, fingers inter-working the black strands. It was the only thing remotely feminine about her: glossy, fine and soft when brushed, and she'd always loved growing it out long. That small child was lucky Sonal had been feeling generous that day, this woman was not above fighting a child (when they asked for it). "You should watch yourself, doctor. The men here are desperate, their hands wander."

(It's fun having Camilla and Ralif not like each other. XD)
"Morning to you as well Sonal." Ralif returned her nod, not so much gracing Camilla with a glance from his one eye. He was content to be in the background of their conversation, not venturing forth much of his own but listening intently to their words. Kydos was not a place the should spend much time in from the sound of it, but he wasn't shying away from a challenge either. As long as he had his gun on his hip he'd be fine, though he was aware of self enough to realize that his expensive dress might make him a target. Oh well, it would give him an excuse for some action at least. "Sounds like a decent place to pick up another combatant for the crew, if we can screen them from being too murderous at the least."

"Oh is he?" Kain raised a brow. He could always see many outcomes of events, but nothing was allowing him to picture Conall anywhere near dauntless during a fight. He assumed Coran's version of the word must mean something different. He was glad Coran was planning to leave the dog behind for the day, they would all need their wits about them and nobody needed to worry about the dog getting enough water and staying out of trouble. "He'll manage. Leave him several bowls of water and a bone or something. He'll forget you're even gone." "Wonderful, my favorite." Camilla groaned. She enjoyed people quite a bit usually and could get along well with nearly everyone, but she despised rudeness and cruelty. She had never heard a good story of Kydos anyway or their people, but that didn't stop her from hoping they weren't all bad. She grimaced and pulled her own French braid in her hand. "Really? That's awful." She frowned. Sonal had beautiful hair and obviously kept up with it so Camilla could imagine she must have been furious. Children were strange entities in their own way already, so the evil ones were much worse to handle. She frowned a little at the last comment and found she was less and less excited to explore this place, but she experiences the male eye wherever she went so she didn't expect that to be absent here. "Thank you, I'll be careful." She said, meaning she would probably stab anyone who dared touch her. She resist the urge to roll her eyes at Ralif. Of course he would think so. "Yes, that would be lovely wouldn't it Ralif? More upstanding citizens to add, I'm sure you would get along charmingly." Her voice was pleasant but dripped with sarcasm and contempt. Ralif did dress well she had to admit as someone who admired that sort of thing and enjoyed it herself, but she hoped it got him mugged.

(Oh yes of course, I'm sure they will!)
Ralif sighed softly, as if even hearing Camilla speak was a chore. He was quite good at being contemptuous as well, rivaling some of even the most well-heeled nobles born and bred to be snobbish. "Well, it's not as if the bar is set all that high in regards to you, Camilla." He found it unfortunate that he was in a conversation with the ship's doctor again, it offended his finer senses. "In the same vein, do try not to venture off the beaten path here too much. I'm afraid for your well-being, the locals might be a bit too rough for your tastes." It was almost an oxymoron that, coming from so arrogant a mouth as his, but realistically both of them would be quite the target for neer-do-wells looking to make a quick buck from stealing something. Kydos was not going to be kind.

"I suppose. He's always been good at entertaining himself. We have that in common." He picked a tangled burr out of the dog's fur and flicked it onto the floor, it seemed the two of them also had poor grooming habits in common as well. His stomach gave a tiny rumble and he blinked, suddenly realizing he hadn't eaten yet. "Have you already had breakfast? or are you not allowed to eat when you're on watch?" That last part wasn't really a question, more of an anxious muse. Breakfast was an important part of Coran's life and the idea of a lack of it was stressing. Sonal watched the conversation back and forth between the two of them and held her tongue. No point poking the bear after all. Ralif seemed like a dangerous dandy sort, but if he was picking a fight with the only person on the ship who could set a bone back in it's place she had to wonder at his intelligence. Similarly, Camilla didn't seem overly intent on backing down, though Sonal made it a habit to never argue with a man wearing a cape. She heard Coran mention food and decided it was as good a way as any to thaw some of the ice, "We should eat now actually, food attracts beasts so Whetu will most likely have us going snackless today."

Kain briefly wondered where Coran came from. He was an odd fellow, not a personality to have been raised in the slums, surely. Had he always had Conall? Where had Whetu found all these people. He decidedly didn't care, he had no desire to know more about them or for them to know about him. He shrugged "not sure it's a rule, but no, we haven't eaten. We should wake Whetu anyway, we're nearing the island and we need a plan for today." He replied and raised an eyebrow at Ralif and Camilla's bickering. That was an interesting development. "Funny Ralif, I was about to say the same for you. You don't know a thing about me so don't pretend as if you do." She replied in a sickly sweet way. She found him distasteful and it as almost pathetic to her the way he talked and dressed, trying to fit in with people that would turn their nose from him. "I'll be fine, thanks for your concern, but you might want to barrow some clothes from Xavier, you're making yourself a target." She knew he had no concern for her well being other than that she was the only person on this ship with medical skills, and she didn't care for him but their group was already strange they didn't need him making them look like they had money to be taken. Sonal brought her attention back and she smiled brightly "Yes, let's I'm starved."

Heading towards the door out, shaking out his foot where it had gone numb from the dog sitting on it, Coran called out like children do when they don't want to do a certain chore and the last one to speak gets stuck with it, "I'm not waking her!" He had no idea what the captain was like in the morning, but he'd rather someone find out for him, in case it was nasty. He was still embarrassed about nearly toppling the ship yesterday, and didn't want to sink any further into her bad books. Opening the door, a light breeze drifted in and he was glad for it. It was already heating up, and he could easily see Kydos now in the light. Praying the two of them didn't slit each other's throats in their sleep, Sonal headed outwith the doctor and Ralif. She wasn't one for passive aggressive small talk, she usually just said what was on her mind, and bickering like this made her vaguely uncomfortable. Both of them were very good with words, this much was clear from how they spoke, and Sonal feared if she tried to join in she'd be left behind. She squinted in the sun when she stepped out, throwing a large cool shadow over the people behind her. The island was ominous and mountainous, with the largest peak near the center. She didn't know much about volcanoes, and would like to keep it like that for now.

Kain rolled his eyes at Coran's fit, although it didn't surprise him that he was afraid to wake Whetu. Kain was sure it wouldn't be pleasant, but they were near shore now and needed to go over some things so it was necessary for their captain to be up and ready to debrief them. Plus, he had a feeling they might run into trouble and would need a plan of action of that occurred since even though Whetu was gifted at thinking on her feet, he wasn't sure how the rest of the crew faired. "Then wake Xavier." It was more of a command than a suggestion before he parted with Coran and made his way to the captain's quarters. He knocked on the door with the side of his fist and leaned against the doorframe. "Whetu." He called out, loud enough to be heard without shouting, his voice raspy, "You're humble crew is awake and ready for instruction from their fearless leader."

Waking Xavier wasn't much a of a kinder fate: he was basically a taller version of the Captain and equally as intimidating to a shy person who was a little too clumsy. But he rather face Xavier then just ignore Kain so he turned on his heel and puttered over to the tall man's bed. He didn't look so bad, for someone who'd nearly been eaten. He reached over and poked his temple a few time, "Hey. Xavier. Hey. Hey." This close Coran could see where his hair was shaved down to his head. It had that fuzzy look at made him want to stroke it, but he managed to contain the urge, "Hey." Whetu grumbled and rubbed the hair out of her face only for it to fall back down again. She propped herself up on her elbows, "My humble crew better all be dressed and ready to go when I see them or this ship will be a whole lot lighter when it leaves Kydos!" She warned, glaring at the door. Having been the only person to have been up all night, she was feeling the fatigue quite acutely, her whole body was heavy. Then she remembered the island and why they were there and a grin involuntarily sprung up on her face, her fire returning as she swung her legs over the side of the bed and pulled on her boots. Pushing her hair back off her face more determinedly, she opened the door to see Kain, "Good morning sunshine. Everyone accounted for?"

Haha Whetu opening the door somewhat made me visualize the beginning of Emperors New Groove when Kuzco enters )
Xavier awoke from his deep sleep to a nasally voice in his ear. His golden eyes opened a crack to glance up at Coran. "Ugh, is it morning already." He groaned and raised an arm over his face. "Coran you're lucky I'm in a good mood." Xavier normally didn't take kindly to being woken, but the night before had been wild and he was ready to start the day, still a bit shocked he had made it out alive. "Be a saint and pass me my holster." He said as he sat up and checked his wound. It didn't look angry so that was a good sign and it only burned a little. He pulled off his shirt and began to look for a fresh one, likely of the same style and color. He wanted to blend in on Kydos, it wasn't his favorite place. "Most of them are getting breakfast ready. Coran is waking Xavier." Kain replied and wondered briefly if he should mention Camilla and Ralif's bickering. He figured the Captain could see for herself soon enough, he had no problem exposing people's secrets normally, but this didn't classify as that and was currently not much of an issue. "We're going to draw attention on Kydos. Not the good kind. I know you're quite the escape artist, but I can't say whether or not any of the others share that talent. So whatever we are up against we need a plan of where to meet back."

(Sorry for not being super active. Midterms. ^^') "If someone's so foolish to mess with me it would be a welcome excuse from the drudgery of having to deal with your incessant speech, Camilla." Ralif turned his attention back from her to Sonal as she led them out, hoping they could just be done bickering for at least a few moments. In the future he'd likely stay above deck if no one was around, this was proving to be far more trouble than it was worth. His gaze shifted towards the mountainous island near them, and he wondered what danger laid in store for them today, exactly.

No problem!!)
He reached over for the holster and was a little shocked to turn back to see a semi-naked man but he'd seen plenty of those in his time and it wasn't like he was complaining. His face still felt significantly warmer and it took a few seconds for him to form an intelligible word, "So, you got saved by a mermaid?" He could barely contain holding off the question much longer, Kain was nice (in his own 'not nice' way) but he hadn't exactly fulfilled Coran's need for gossip by giving him a sterile rundown of what happened. "That's pretty crazy." "No attention on Kydos is the good kind. The island's cursed." She waggled her fingers at him, as if curses came with fidgeting digits. "But I get what you mean. I can't say that this place is familiar ground to me, I've only been once or twice, but it has only two notable landmarks and one of them is Mount Udiya, not the handiest for getaways." She yawned into her hand but kept talking, her words obscured slightly, "The other is a statue of the darling King from whenever it was built. I don't know, some guy with a beard. But across from that is a little shop, if memory serves me correctly. That's our meetup point if things go astray. There are like, four streets and one pier on this lump of rock, so getting from the shop to the ship will be easy enough."

Camilla batted her eyes at him "don't pretend you don't find the sound of my voice enchanting." She taunted, flirting was both a fun hobby and a way to annoy others. She found Ralif exhausting, but she liked to have the last word of an argument. She sashayed after Sonal towards the promise of food, she was hungry and they had a long day ahead of them, everyone would need their wits and a full stomach. "I did. She must have been fond of me, I do tend to have that effect." Xavier gave a toothy grin in Coran's direction before he pulled his shirt back over head and took the holster to buckle into place. "I honestly thought I was done for the second I hit the water. It was freezing and there were so many claws in my back dragging me down I was sure it was over. Then this silver flash and suddenly I can breathe again." He told his story, it sounded a little foolish to him, but it was what happened. He would exaggerate much more in the retelling later over several drinks, but for now this was the truth and he was still a bit shaken by the whole even. "Alright. If anyone gets caught they're not to say a word of what were looking for. It's too risky." Kain wanted to add that they should have their tongue cut out and be branded a traitor, but it wasn't his ship and he was fairly side Whetu would consider the suggestion an overstep of his boundaries. He knew they were all warned people though except maybe Coran and Camilla who he couldn't imagine had much of a criminal record, but his own was extensive, as was Whetu's and that meant they had to stay sharp.

"I never liked your spinach puffs" *small gasp* )
He listened with wide eyes, still very much the boy who loved stories, regardless of his new occupation as a pirate. "You must be one of the few people in the world who's ever seen a mermaid up close." He tapped one finger against his chin in thought, "And made it out alive, of course. That's quite a boast." He'd have to write all his down in his book later, this was the kind of thing that you'd never forget, but the details would slip. "We're eating now, Kydos isn't far, are you up for food?" After particularly scary events, Coran often lost his stomach for a while, did Xavier? He couldn't exactly imagine this walking pile of confidence scared of anything, but he was only human, he supposed. "With a bit of luck, we could avoid human interaction altogether. The rumors about the Hoop and Kydos tend to be wilder ones, so we wouldn't stick around town for long." Not that it was much of a town, and hopefully it would be so isolated it wouldn't have any wanted posters up. One could only hope. The crew were milling about on board, off to eat, and so far, no one seemed to have killed each other. Camilla and Ralif were talking, the doctor all smiles, which was nice. Though from what she knew of Camilla, that smile could mean anything, so she didn't tick them off as best friends just yet. Sonal looked a little green and was glaring at the sun, so nothing new there. "Good morning, folks. Everyone ready to set off?"

Ralif too, was thoroughly done with their conversation. He hardly cared if Camilla got the last word in, he wasn't about to deign the ship's doctor with another response and open it up again. It was like picking at a scab, a poor choice really. At the sound of the captain and first mate's voice, his attention was off of the heated dislike between himself and Camilla, attention once again focusing on the mission at hand and the possible danger the day brought. There was no worry about himself, no, he could handle whatever some shoddy, boorish peasants had to throw at him, he just wanted to make sure that no one else would meet an unsavory fate. He might've tried to act aloof, but did tend to care for those around him. "Quite ready. The sooner we depart from this rock the better."

With a lazy stretch of his arms overhead Xavier have a belly laugh and nodded "Of course I am Coran. Always up for food." Xavier declared and nudged the boy with his shoulder "plus we probably won't be eating for the rest of the day so get your fill. We have to be sharp, Kydos is hell and the people are the worst." He grumbled and worked on reloading each his custom revolvers then stashed a good amount of extra ammo on his person just incase. His mind still lingered on the night before, rolling it over in his head and trying to work out all the details. It was unnerving, but he needed to be ready for the day and his mind on the task ahead. "Yes mam!" He called and saluted Whetu. Kain followed after Whetu to join the others, his face unreadable as usual, possibly in a slight scowl. The sun always hurt his eyes when he came from a dark room, their light blue complexion didn't do much for protection, but he kept a straight face and didn't squint. He cast his gaze over to the island that looked over them then the crew. They were an odd bunch, each with their own assets and weaknesses. Kain doubted Kydos held the prize, but it was important to check everywhere.

"That's the enthusiasm I was looking for." She shifted her weight from one hip to another, a little habit of hers that came from a childhood of being cheeky. "All of you will know about what happened last night: Our good friend Xavier took a dip and was saved by a benevolent fish." She gestured to him in the crowd, glad to see him bright eyed, if not a little battered. "What a lot of you may not know is Kale over here," She thumbed at him, "Is now this ship's first mate. After me, you all answer to him." It needed to be said, she couldn't have any of the crew not listening to what the quieter man said. Whetu didn't necessarily trust him yet, but she trusted his judgement. He wanted this just as badly as any of them. "If you have any questions, ask now. It's a quick breakfast and then we're on land. Coran, you've got the maps?" He waved the rolled up sheets, having grabbed them down in the bunk room, "We have two routes planned, and we'll be splitting up. These maps of Kydos aren't quite as comprehensive as our maps of the ocean, so you'll all have to keep your wits about you."

Xavier took a bow for dramatic effect when Whetu mentioned the incident from last night. He was still thinking about it and a little shook he had nearly died the first night of the journey, but if he showed that he was a little rattled, that may startle the others and he didn't want that. He was ready to make land, his body electric with anticipation, there was always adventure to be had on Kydos as wretched as the place was. "Who will go with who?" He asked Whetu. They were an odd bunch and he was curious to see how she would split them and who she thought would work best with who. Kain narrowed his eyes a little when Whetu called him Kale purposefully, but other than that kept a constant expression with his arms crossed over his chest. His eyes fell to the maps, they would be important for their search on land. The goal was to get in and get out, not to deal with the locals or suspicious.

"I will be taking Camilla, Ralif and Sonal up around the high grounds, Kain will be leading Coran and Xavier around the lower, more central regions. I wish we had even numbers but I also wish for a cleaner bed and an invincibility to bullets. Watch each others backs out here, I know it goes without saying now, but this place is famous for big game hunting for a reason." After last night, she was fairly certain no one wanted a much closer run in with anything big and scary, "We're all on the same team. No one wanders off on their own, not here. If a harpy doesn't get you, the sunshine will. Make sure you've all got water before we leave, it would be just embarrassing to lose one of you to the weather so early on." She admitted, glancing up at the sky. It was already devilishly hot, and that was with the ocean breeze. "Side note on harpies, rumor has it that a very speical creature lives around here." She cocked her head to the side, "Reads a lot, stellar memory. Keep an eye out for them, harpies aren't like meramids, they can bargained with. Maybe they've heard something."

(I'm really sorry that I'm not typing as detailed responses as you guys are. Once I get Kerro in here I should have more to work with.) Ralif was rather tempted to make a dramatic display of leaping off the ship and into the ocean at being grouped up with Camilla, but such an act was not worth the saltwater on his clothes, nor was it worth risking the goodwill of the meandering mermaid who'd saved Xavier. For all they knew she just had a specific like of him, all others on the ship be damned as fish food. Despite his overwrought grievances, Whetu's advice did not fall upon deaf ears. "Very well, captain." Now, it wasn't harpies or heatstroke that had the thief worried, no, so far Ralif's biggest concern was getting dust on his clothes. It was ever such a trial to keep black clean, and traipsing about a volcanic wasteland wasn't conducive to the effort. You could always shoot a monster, not so much the dirt.

Kain gave a short nod, it made sense to split up and cover more ground so they could spend less time at the island, but fewer numbers were concerning when one faced a large group of locals looking for trouble, or a beast. He knew Xavier could shoot and run fast, but Coran seemed like the type to either freeze with fear or trip over his feet which could be detrimental in a quick reflex situation. That meant Kain had to look out for him, he wasn't very good at taking care of others. The way Camilla saw it, she had several options. Be disgusted, or above the situation by not reacting to being stuck with Ralif. She decided to go with choice three and gave Ralif a little wave and then a wink as if she was happy to be in his group. She would make the most of it, Whetu and Sonal would be there too, but the idea of spending the whole day with him, let alone the rest of the trip was dreary. She was intrigued by the idea of harpies though, especially one who could read and enjoyed books. Kydos had a bad reputation, but she thought that would be interesting to see.
(Sorry for the lame reply, should we throw in Heath and Chrysanta soon?)

Ralif ever so slightly narrowed his good eye at Camilla, wondering what exactly the woman had in mind now, but silently figured it would be best to not give her much of a reaction. Loathe as he was to admit it, she was the ship's doctor, and it would be a generally poor idea to aggravate her even further. Not that he was by any means above it, in fact he had to restrain himself from making a barbed comment with a tongue far sharper than most blades, but he was smart enough to realize that Camilla was not an enemy he wished to hold onto for long. Mutual dislike, however? Fine by him. At the very least he wasn't paired with only her, and the other two women seemed decent enough traveling partners. Whetu, for entertainment if nothing else, and Sonal was the kind of person he could get along with. Quiet. No nonsense. Sure, he spoke with the tongue of an aristocrat, but no amount of words or coins could ever fully get rid of that grim practicality from growing up penniless, even if the cape was doing its best to suggest otherwise .

Yep!! Let's just skip breakfast and board land. I can't wait to finally use the lil military dogs ~ I adore the fact that Ralif is annoyed he's going ot get dust on his black clothes because I agree completely it is a pain)
As the ship sailed up to the modest little harbor, Whetu leaned over the edge, that restless energy in her bubbling under her skin. Sonal folded her arms and stood beside her, looking a little less sallow. Neither of them were particularly pleased to be back to such an abysmal place, but there was a faint tangible excitement to finally be searching for the Hoop. Sometimes it was easy to forget why they were even here. So lost in thought the two of them nearly didn't notice the ship of the Royal Guard, moored about three miles down the coast from them. Nearly. Whetu's smile broadened somewhat but her eyes were wider and a tenseness took a grip on her shoulders. Her fingers twitched and she leaned further over the edge, grin still in place but with a knife sharp malice to it now. Sonal simply swore and turned her eyes to the heavens, pinching the bridge of her nose. Great, just great.
Coran stood behind the wheel, Conall panting away, a bowl of water beside him. The navigator got as close as he dared to the decking, gave his best friend a quick pat, "Mind the ship," grabbed the maps and then hurried off. He didn't want to be left behind on this strange place, he had no intention of doing anything to draw unwanted attention to himself either. There were a few smaller boats, all badly needing a bit of work done, one pleasure cruiser that seemed devoid of life at the moment and, further down the shore, a much larger ship with huge white sails. In the bright light, he couldn't make out the emblem on the flag, but it sure was a fancy ship.

(It's awful. I'd love black if it stayed black. XD)
"Oh, well, if fate hasn't given us just the most ideal hand to start off our journey. Not only do we get to deal with the natives," Ralif pronounced the word with no small amount of disgust, "but also the ever so noble royal guard. Wonderful. Glorious, even." He wasn't complaining merely for the sake of it, rather the sarcasm helped to alleviate any worry he faced. Problems were so easily defeated with a simple intonation of tone, and perhaps some lead should the need arise. "Captain? Do you have a plan, besides the ever so effective, though obvious, don't get caught?" Confidence in his own abilities to remain undetected he had in spades, but a whole crew? In a tiny town? Not so much. "Technically my face isn't known, should the need so arise I'd be happy to distract them." His ulterior motive was getting away from Camilla, but just because one had two purposes didn't make one less valid. That's what he told himself, at least.

Kain ran a frustrated hand through his dark hair and swore low under his breath. The Royal Guard was there and he doubted that to be a coincidence. He had a huge list of crimes, luckily not meant they knew about. As a child he had been new, upset over the murder of his father and the death of his twin sister, with no real care about what it meant to be caught and tried. Until he felt the whip on his back did he decide getting caught would not be an option anymore. Since then he stayed off the radar, a shadow among people, only being noticed if he wanted to. Sure, he was suspected for murder of a few people, but they usually had their hands just as dirty as his so it wasn't much of an issue, especially with no proof. He was sure they would still love to get their hands on him, and Whetu for that matter. She had a special kind of beef with Heath, and her attitude only infuriated the stern man more, so Kain doubted he would miss the chance to bring her to her knees. "This isn't good." He murmured, appearing beside Whetu. "I don't see why else they would be at Kydos unless they were tipped off we were headed here, which means no excusses or clever stories will keep them from arresting us."

She didn't reply at first, eyes still trained on the ship. The big sun burst in the center looked like a target from this distance. Whetu stood, perched like a gargoyle, ogling the war vessel before slowly replying, "Yes. This is an unexpected turn of events." She didn't turn to face her crew, if her eyes didn't start to strain she doubted she'd have even blinked. The ocean between the two ships was a sea of bad blood and every scar down the captain's back was on fire: whether form the strain of leaning over the railings or from the memory of the man who gave them to her, it was undecided. Then, she snapped out of it, like a deeply devout coming out of a religious trance, "Yes, they'll know we're here. They probably also know why, which is bad. Terrible, in fact. I'd had hoped for at least a months advance on them, but that was optimistic. I should stick to realism." Was she rambling? Yes. Deep breathes, "I can't say I'm pleased to see them but it does make things significantly more interesting. And thank you, Ralif, but I'd really prefer they don't get too close a look at any of us. Coran, moor the ship around the corner, we're still splitting up but the stakes are raised now. We have no way of knowing how many there are, but we can assume that the Captain is here, as well as his little lackey. These guys don't mess around, folks. Being seen is not an option." She pointed at Kain, Xavier and Sonal in particular, that wide, freezing grin still firmly in place

Kain watched a flash of fire cross through Whetu's eyes. Although she hadn't specifically told him, he kept up with the Blackguard and who hated who, that was how he stayed ahead of situations and gathered intel. It was no secret of the hatred Whetu and Heath has for each other, but not many knew the specifics of their problems or how deep they went. Kain had a guess, but it wasn't his business and he didn't need the information in order to manipulate since he has no intent of doing so, at least not with Whetu, and it was pointless with the Blackguard, they were too self righteous. So he didn't ask, just like she didn't ask about his problems. He wasn't shocked to see them though, they would just need to adjust. "We'll meet back up before nightfall and if anyone is missing, then we will assume they were captured and will figure it out from there. Nobody talked about why we are here or what our goal is, we don't need them knowing anymore than they already do." He reminded the group.
