Rose looked uncertain, but didn't really want to go over and interrupt her moment with her new friend here. She looked back at Savage and made a move to lighten things. "Maybe they brought back a Rattlesnake."

"Then you must now how capable I am with my ways." Balsam replied lightly, a small chuckle underlining his words. The orange tabby appeared to be having fun, antagonizing the small wayfinder and flirting with the leader. It wasn't a bad way to spend his morning. It was better than the directionless walking that had been on the schedule.
Flower bit back her obvious pleasure at her tribe member being chewed out. "Yes, Heart, we ran into him near the Drybrush. Ant saw him before the rest of us, and we were the first to engage in a confrontation." She admitted, glancing to Dust. "We figured it safe with a fighter. Ant insisted we take this rouge back to you, and appears to recognize him from some...family complication."

Savage shuddered. "I hope not." He muttered, knowing they likely hadn't, however he still didn't like even considering it.
Heart scowled. "If this is about what I think it's about, then Ant probably would have chased him into our territory to get a hold of this one." She hissed, flicking an ear whereas most would have flattened both. Poor Feather, I can imagine how different her relationship with Ant is than mine with Savage is. She thought to herself, swishing her tail. "In any case, an outsider on our territory is always a problem, and we always have the same solutions. However, I have some more questions for you, Balsam." At this the tactician held her head up, observing him through wise orange eyes. "Are you alone? And how long have you been around the Tribe of Scorching Winds' territory?"

Ant did not look at all too happy at the current events. "I would have happily chased him out if those were the rules" he grumbled, continuing to glare at Balsam. The more this cat spoke, the less he liked him. Even now, this cat was shamelessly flirting with their tactician, while his sister was pregnant with his kits!

"I smell a rouge..." Rose admitted, her keen sense of smell coming through as she looked at her paws faintly, before bristling in defensiveness. "They better not have harmed our tribe mates."
Dawn approached the group, eyes cold and tail lashing as she looked at Balsam up and down. She was not impressed in the slightest, nor was she fond of this intruder. But she kept a cold and silent glare as she waited for Heart's words.

"My dear, I have been alone since I was born." Balsam replied, bluntly honest. "So believe me when I tell you I pose no threat to your...uhm...group?" The name at which to call the gathering of cats was unknown to him. "I don't usually tread too close to here. I'll be honest, your group caught me while I was out on a few days trip away from my home. If you don't mind me asking a few questions, doll, I would love to know what your 'solution' for this situation is."

Savage lashed his tail, nodding agreement. "Yea, I smelled a strange cat, too." He looked over at Rose, and touched his tail to her shoulder. "Heart will take care of it, and if someone needs chasing off I'm not too tired for it." He added, hopeful.
Heart was unfazed by the cats' presence around her, she was used to crowds, and accustomed to handling them. It was her job, and she was more than adept at it. "My Tribe can either accept you into our ranks after close moderation, or" she paused, looking into his eyes, "you will be chased from the territory. And, my dear," she nearly spat with sarcasm, "if you should be found within our borders again, I will have more than just words for you."
The pretty russet-red she-cat flicked an ear, holding herself high at her declaration. She looked around at the group of cats, waiting for objections and/or suggestions.

At that moment, Feather had finally decided to poke her head out of the nursery, curious at to just what was going on. The first thing she saw was the crown, followed by an extremely angry Ant, an annoyed Heart, and then..."Balsam?" the matriarch spoke up, walking towards the small grouping. She wasn't sure what she had expected, but to see the charming wanderer again wasn't one of them. She would have looked a little more pleased to see him, but with Ant's glare now pointed at her, she didn't continue.

"Tell the sweetheart that his flirting is as weak as he is." Dawn mewed coldly, suggesting to Heart while she glared at Balsam. She lashed her tail, continuing. "Can this tom even join our ranks? We should be calling you "doll." She snided to the outsider, harsh when faced with those who degraded Heart like this. She respected the she-cat greatly.
Rose heard some of the words and instantly found herself inwardly envying Heart and Dawn's fearlessness.

Balsam couldn't remove the grin from his face, finding the bickering between him and the leader rather fun. "I'm afraid joining here would be the last thing I could ever want." The rouge replied, and looked as though he was going to antagonize the Tribe more, before he heard a familiar voice. Turning slowly, he saw a very familiar, very recognizable she-cat. Without hesitation, he leaped from where the patrol had been closely guarding him, and was before Feather in a heartbeat, his heavy breathing almost visible. "You never told me you belonged here." He said quickly, incredulous.

Dawn stormed towards him, glaring. "Back off! Touch one strand of fur on her, I dare you." She warned ferociously, not liking how he launched himself up to the pregnant she-cat. She bristled, standing near Feather, looking ready to strike.

Heart stepped forwards slowly, menacingly. She flicked her tail, and her muscles rippled under her lean coat with each precise step she took. "You claim you want nothing to do with us one heartbeat, yet the next you are excited to see the she-cat who carries your kits." She held a paw out to keep any of the other cats from coming near Feather and Balsam, specifically Ant, and Dawn who had already loyally leapt to her Tribemate's side. "Speak your heart, Balsam, and not your head." The russet she-cat riddled, holding herself proudly, yet prepared to attack if he had a change of pace.
Savage nosed Rose's cheek, seeing it might get ugly and that she was uncomfortable. "We could go back out, there's enough cats here already." He offered, tilting his head back outside, though his eyes glanced back to Heart.

Feather opened her mouth to defend Balsam, only to be silenced again by one look from Ant. However, after a few moments of deliberation, she closed her eyes and shook her head before turning to look back at Balsam. She wanted him to stay, even if her brother didn't. "I wanted to tell you more, but I never got the chance last time" she quietly answered, low enough so only the wanderer next to her could hear.

"Yeah...yeah, let's head back out." Rose nodded in quick agreement, not liking this issue.
Dawn now scowled angrily at both Feather and Balsam, now for certain knowing Feather's kits' father. Were the two of them eating tribe prey together on stupid little dates? Twining tails now? Even so, she remained defensive next to Feather.

Savage turned, walking beside her. "I doubt that hunting party brought back much... Looks like I might have to make an effort after all." Savage attempted a grin to lighten the moment, looking over at Rose.

Rose felt her mood lighten once more, before she laughed. "Well, we can team up again. This time I'll lead the prey to you." She offered.

Balsam growled angrily. If that overprotective, pretentious, annoying brother of her's kept interfering in Feather's life, he would surely have to teach him a lesson. Softening his voice and his gaze, he replied, "You left without saying where you were going." The rouge felt anger that he had lost her, and he had harbored that anger since she left, but now it was fading quickly at the joy of seeing her again.

"Geez, I don't know about that Rose." Savage chuckled, scuffing a rock out of the way as they walked. "I'm not good at catching much." He meowed truthfully. His job was to guard, so he only had certain requirements when it came to things he had to be able to 'catch', per say.

"I'll teach you then." Rose offered softly, before feeling her fur warm and her paws move faster out of camp. She coughed. "And...then maybe you can teach me how to guard camp?"

Savage grinned, looking over at her as he bounded beside her. "That's easy, all you gotta do is sit and watch the sky." He purred, both happy at her offer and her curiosity. A light shone in his eyes when he looked at her, the same light that shone in Feather's when she had looked at Balsam, and the tactician's when she looked at the seer. It was a light that had never before glowed in his once dull brown eyes.

She looked just a little bit guilty as his words. "I guess I panicked a little at the time, I notice Ant was coming and he was already worried enough" She flicked her ear towards Ant's direction, not looking all that bothered about the fact. "Heart...does have a point though, what do you want to do Balsam?"

Rose felt a little braver, really enjoying the sight of the tom looking so happy. She purred. "Sky. Got it...but, well, what if I want to look at something else?" She trailed mysteriously, letting her natural flirting show rather than her teasing kind.

"Well then you should make it quick, or make sure you aren't alone." Savage answered honestly, raising an eyebrow at her as he grinned slightly. As he said so, he made a quick evaluation of the sky, to see if there was anything circling near.

Balsam exhaled, his eyes closing. "Only a while. I'm sure there is no harm in that." He replied, opening his eyes and gazing at Feather. He would need the time to speak with her, and to put the fear of the Maker into her brother.

Heart had always possessed a great amount of strained patience, but this was not one of those times where she could be patient for long. "What was that, Balsam? Feather?" The russet she-cat inquired, orange eyes bright. She no longer held her half-crouch, but did wave her tail in slight sign of annoyance.

"H-heart..." Feather looked surprised at her own voice, taking a deep breath and looking from the tactician to Balsam, and back again. "He really doesn't mean any harm" Shyly looking at the ground, her voice was now a little quieter. "Please...can you give him a chance?"

Heart gave a small smile, thinking of her father, who was so much like Balsam. "All cats deserve a chance." She responded, voice clear but lower than the projected tone she had used before. Looking back to the crowd gathered around her though, she dropped her smile. "However, if he is to remain here, he shall not be unattended. And that does not mean alone with Feather or Ant, either. At least two cats must be with him at all times until he earns my trust, as well as Sun's," Heart finally verbally addressed the other leader, "and proved himself useful to our Tribe." The russet she-cat declared, red fur glinting in the sun. "Dawn, Feather, since you two are already with him," she looked at the two she-cats, "you have first watch."
She turned around, looking to the rest of her Tribe. "If anyone has any issues, I will be in my den. May the Tribe of Eternal Plenty guide your pawsteps." The tactician yowled before trotting back into the cool shade of her and Sun's adjoined den, roots swishing in the entrance behind her.

Balsam bit back his disagreement with the need for babysitters. His personality had changed completely since the patrol had brought him in. Now he actually cared about being allowed a stay. "Thank you, though I do not plan to stay." He replied, turning back to Feather, as he intended his time here to convince her to come back with him.

"Good. Hope you're gone by sundown." Dawn scathed darkly, lashing her tail coldly.
Rose gave a faint purr. "What if you distract me?"

Feeling a pang of sadness as Balsam's words, Feather turned away from her brother, motioning for the rogue to follow her with a motion of her tail. She wanted to talk, but it'd be easier if the entire tribe wasn't in front of him. Could it be possible that Ant was right after all? That he really wouldn't care. "I'm...sorry about everyone else. How long do you plan to stay?"
