Julius felt weaker than before, already he was beginning to hate this room. The pillars continued to glow blue as if nothing else had changed, but the humming had grown louder. Something's about to happen... The viper didn't know what exactly to anticipate, but he had the feeling it was going to be something they weren't going to like. "What is it?" He lifted his head, half-expecting to see something appear. Nothing out of the ordinary yet. His eyes then widened at Astolfo's conclusion. "Is that so?" To see it for himself, he lifted his arm, trying to summon his corrupted shadow. Nothing. So she was right. He didn't seem particularly worried, if anything, it almost excited him. His attention was brought to whatever Astolfo was talking to. It flew in the distance and seemed to be headed towards the two of them. So that's the Hippofgriff. It wasn't exactly the body of a horse, he didn't see any hooves. It reminded him of the Gryphons at home. The way it looked however...It's almost as it saw the two as prey. Julius didn't understand for a minute why Astolfo was running from him, but he quickly put two and two together when he saw the creature head straight for her. He grinned, I appreciate your concern for others, but that won't do here. He quickly ran after the servant and whistled as loud as he could, seeing if he could get the creature's attention. It was unfortunate that there weren't any rocks around, otherwise he'd be pelting the Hippogriff with them. Hippogriff's head shot to face Julius as the whistle hit it's ears, and it responded with a shrill cry. Astolfo meanwhile, took a glance behind him to see what was going on, only for his heart to drop as he saw his mount veer off it's current course and aim itself at the other blinker. "Hippogriff, stop!" The servant shouted, vainly hoping the beast would listen. Of course it didn't, but something that did happen was him realizing that he could use this change in plan for an advantage. Hippogriff just had to stay locked on to Julius... The two blinkers were about to pass by another one of those blue towers, which was perfect for the new plan. As they did so, Hippogriff suddenly dropped into a dive and the light surrounding it grew brighter. It was now or never, or else it was going to slam right into it's target. Considering the beast could smash through almost anything with ease, it wasn't going to end well if that happened. Astolfo took a deep breath, focused his mind, then sharply changed direction to the side and jumped up at the tower as they passed in front of it. As he flew he manuvered himself around so he hit it legs first, then once he touched it he pushed himself back off with enough force to send cracks spidering out from his launch point. Hippogriff ignored what it's master was doing, passing him by and still dead set on Julius. That had been a poor choice for it as it's Rider came barreling at it from the side with a concentrated grin on his face, despite knowing this was more then likely going to hurt. The servant collided with his mount, causing them both to go careening through the air. The pair crash landed a small distance away, the force causing the floor to rumble slightly. Hippogriff lay limply in the ground, and Astolfo was nowhere to be found at first. Until... "Ugh. Now I'm going to have a headache the rest of the day..." One of the large wings was tossed out of the way, revealing a scrapped up and slightly dazed pink haired figure who was rubbing the back of his head. Julius slowed his pace once he noticed Hippogriff going towards him now. Once it was closer, it suddenly dive bombed downwards at an alarming rate. Let's go, asshole. He stopped and was ready to kick the shit out of the griffin, tensing his right leg into a stance. He stopped when Astolfo suddenly leaped from the pillar and slammed into her friend. He simply watched as the two came spiraling down onto the ground. He had to wonder if the harsh landing hurt her. She didn't seem like a regular person if she really was one of those Heroic Spirits with those Noble Phantasms, but he had no idea what sort of abilities she had. Slightly worried, he jogged over the the limp Hippogriff. His questions were then answered when Astolfo sat up and talked as if nothing happened. That was relieving. "You okay?" Julius let out a hand to help her on her feet. "Something tells me your friend doesn't normally do this." He was starting to get a better grasp at the situation, and he didn't like it one bit. Maybe with Astolfo's powers he can handle, depending on what exactly they are. So far he's only seen her thick lance and her big mount. If they were his powers however... The hum from before changed to that of a much lower pitch. Julius turned to one of the pillars and widened his eyes momentarily when their blue glow turned dark red. "Don't f*cking tell me..." As if the House read his mind, the pillars started to emit a thin reddish-black fog right at the ground. It wasn't quite fog, as it was much thinner. F*ck f*ck How the hell were they supposed deal with this? They couldn't exactly fight this. Run? But where? Julius might be fine with it, maybe it'll burn a little. But Astolfo?

Ougi was focused on the intricacies of Pallet's statement, evaluating the details like the detective she was. She slipped the notepad back into her uniform and kept her eye contact broken with the demon, pretending to listen passively. The student was deciding several things that may or may not be true: Pallet is from an entire group of aberrations, she is an independent manifestation rather than a parasite of some kind, and this is a form of mythology in her universe. "I see, I see," she mumbled, seemingly unconcerned. Even though she was a similar kind of aberration, one of darkness, Ougi's sense of justice was misaligned with these reasonings. But if this was the nature of the oddity, then there was nothing to be done; she knew this all too well from personal experience. "What about you?" Ougi had turned on Raizel, giving him a hint of a challenging look. "What have you spent your years doing?" She had already deduced that he had been playing a game of some kind when he blinked in, but she had no idea he was from a similar time period as her. After all, his clothes and appearance didn't seem to hint this at all.

Raizel softly smiled as he listened to Pallet speak. "I'm glad to hear that fate is treating you well." He softly shared his thoughts. "Regardless of who or what we are, I simply ask consideration of allying yourself with the humans at least once. I have met plenty of demons, and non humans whom have allied themselves with humans. On one side we have seen unity create a better society for everyone. On the other hand, it gives those excluded from time an opportunity for a new story of sorts. It allows you to expand your horizons and rejuvenate your purpose." His scarlet eyes softened. His focus shifted over to Ougi who appeared charmly captivated by Pallet's words, though for a different reason. When asked as to what he was up to he couldn't help but beam with pride,"I am currently going to school with my friends." His voice was illuminating with excitement. "I have spent these last few years understanding modern society, and trying to better my skills in interaction." He politely addressed. "Learning Korean and English these past few years has too been difficult-" He lightly blushed in embarrassment. "-but my education has been greatly helping." He rested a hand against his chest, dipping his head down to release a hefty sigh. "Unfortunately while things have been going well for a change, I too have been forced to condemn the lives of many. No matter how much time passes, there continues to be those who wish to dismay the balance." He looked away, his softened expression clear of shame and regret.

Pallet watched Ougi react to her statement. Honestly, she was quite impressed. The girl had taken the information with ease. Seemingly even unconcerned with the nature of it. Well, Vincent sure had been interesting, but Ougi was something else entirely. Pallet had only opened up about her true self to a few, they always gave the same ignorant speech about- "allying yourself with the humans at least once." The Demon turned her gaze to Raizel as he spoke. Now, there was the reaction she was used to. As always, Pallet offered her kind, sweet, and innocent smile and merely responded. "Never." It was a simple response, but one that she hoped got the point across clearly. There was absolutely nothing that aligning herself with humans would get her, except punished harshly by Lord Lucifer, not to mention the utter disgust she would feel even having to be around humans. No, Raizel's comment was merely based in ignorance found in his own world, a kind of harmony he was projecting unto her. It was almost adorably naive.
As Ougi captured the man's notice, and got him talking about his own world, Pallet paid only mild attention to him. She quirked an eyebrow as he discussed condemning those who threw the balance out of wack. It looked as though he was ashamed of those actions. Pallet couldn't help but roll her eyes.

Ougi's mouth turned into a squiggle of sorts at Raizel's assessment of Pallet. Or perhaps it was best described as a recommendation for her. To the student, both were wrong, and she had no trouble being decisive with herself on that. His mention of school subdued her philosophical criticism for now though. So, this person was from a more modern time period. Potentially even the same as hers. She refrained from making verbal one of her well-crafted insults: Just stay here forever and you'll never have to learn a new language, and in the meantime your world won't have to deal with you. It seemed even less a time for insults when a regretful expression passed over his face. Ougi bent her knee and tapped the tip of one of her shoes against the floor. She wasn't surprised with Pallet's reaction to Raizel. If anything, it reaffirmed her beliefs of what Pallet was, something separate from humanity. But also, an embodiment of some emotion or desire within humanity. That was the only way such a being would be able to survive.

He turned his head to stare at Hippogriff's still body, before shaking his head. "Heck no! At least, not at me..." A NP being turned on it's owner, now he'd really seen everything... "And he'd never attack others like that unless I commanded him to. Something else must have been forcing him to act like that." As was normal once it was defeated, the beast's body vanished in a flash of blue light. At least it wouldn't be a threat to them anymore, although this didn't do much to help that feeling of dread that didn't seem to want to go away. "Huh?" Forcing his gaze away from the spot Hippogriff had fallen, the servant looked up at Julius to see what was wrong. The expression on the other blinker's face legitimately sent a chill down his back. This was the first time the snake had looked anything but calm. Watching the black mist start to spread, "Is that... Stuff, something you can do?" Astolfo could sense magic coming from it, but thankfully his own Magic Resistance kept him from being too affected by it at it's current level. It was a bit hot, but besides that it didn't bother him. Then the realization him like a truck. He no longer had Luna Break Manual on him, and his magic resistance was extremely suboptimal without it. If this fog got any worse...

Wherever they ended up in the air was unsettlingly still in addition with the derelict atmosphere it was going to be a long room. Normally he had the urge to callout for anything out there out in the hollow fairgrounds to get attention or risking a close encounter, the teen knew better to keep his desires in check for now. Plus, he didn't want his player number 2 to run back to weenie hut juniors this early into their spelunking. "I meant it." Joey grinned beneath his ghastly mask at Matt's priceless reaction. The othere's cackling was highly infectious moving the newbie to release deep chuckle resonating in the air. Sure, it was more entertaining when there were more people around though rarely did he have time for more intimate interactions. Another rare type of interaction was that of encountering the premise of a horror movie. "Video games? I can deal with that." The experienced blinker's response didn't spook him like his previous explanations of the house's "unique" ways of working. After a second of thinking as to what he was informed only now did the delinquent dare to look at the ambiguous clue given to them. Something comparable to a switch was turned on, making a move towards to the closed off ride, and jumping onto the fence with little to no hesitation. "Don't stand there too long or else he's going to catch you." He warned the other mockingly while climbing his way over the towering wall. “H...wha...n...hang on...” Matt stuttered nervously, watching his nimble new friend leap the fence in a few simple movements, leaving him standing limply behind. “Who’s gonna catch me...?” His shout dissolved into a mumble as he realized the other could probably no longer hear him. ”God dammit...” he said with a huff, scrambling over the first fence with comical awkwardness. And then...there was a wall. ”Okay...okay, no big deal! Just a little wall. I can totally do parkour, I’ve totally done this before -“ He hopped on his heels a few times, psyching himself up, then ran for it, springing up in a running jump to try and grab the top of the wall. It was a massively awkward, strenuous movement, but finally, he clawed his way to the top and fell haphazardly over the other side, landing with a hff on his side. ”Oww...” he mumbled, painfully aware of how pathetic he looked next to the apparent athlete he’d just befriended. So much for cool points.

The vampire allowed his hand to rest on the nearest door handle. He blinked once, trying to think back to if he had ever opened a room before or not. He didn't really like that he had. He pushed the door open, looking back at Kelsier to make sure he was following before stepping across the threshhold. He was at once faced with trees larger than he'd seen before and most of which weren't even close to native on the Disc. He turned slowly, eyebrows rising. "Weird," he muttered. "I'm not into botany ... but this is weird. Is this size normal in trees for you?" (I was just trying to remember if there were any rooms left by the wayside but gave up and dropped them in Echo's forest room that currently going on.) (Oof, sorry for the long poof. And that room sounds good!) Kelsier followed the vampire inside. And froze. His hazel eyes went very wide and his mouth slipped open as he took it all in...all the green. It was beautiful, even more beautiful than Sazed had described, than Mare had imagined and dreamt of. He took a step forward and caught his breath as the grass didn’t crumble into dust under his boots. It was soft, greener than anything he’d ever seen before, and so alive. The mistborn bent down slowly and removed his glove so that he could touch the soft, mossy forest floor. For perhaps the first time in his life words failed him, and he simply crouched there and brushed the impossible with the tips of his fingers. When he finally found his voice again he gave a quiet, strangled sort of laugh that was raw with emotion. “No. My world is nothing like this...although some say it was, once. I heard that plants could be soft and green, and trees could crowd together and cover the sun with their leaves, but I never could quite imagine it. My wife...my wife could, though. She had a picture of a flower.” He gave another shaky laugh and straightened up. It was difficult to look away from the forest long enough to scan the older blinker’s expression, but he managed it. “I take it your world has green plants, too?” The vampire paused. Kelsier's reaction wasn't something he'd seen coming. Maladict blinked, wanting to look away. It almost felt like a moment he shouldn't be witnessing; it was too privet for him to really understand. He watched the local wildlife, in this case a butterfly with drab wings, fluttering around the upper branches of the trees. Kelsier asked his question and Maladict jerked out of what he'd been thinking. In this case that Borogravia was a bit too rainy right now to look much like this, but the forest and mountains could pass for green. "Yes," he answered. It was hard to imagine a world which wouldn't have that. He knew a small bit about other places, but only in a vague sense. There were supposed to be places with large expanses of sand or rocks everywhere. Was that the sort of place Kelsier came from? "Are there no green plants where you come from?" the vampire questioned. There was a loud hiss from the undergrowth, but Maladict ignored it for now.

There it was, the quirk that made this individual Myrnin. Elliot stood in silence, taking a pause between the time the other vampire addressed him and his own reply. His eyes observed the book Myrnin was reading, and the glasses. It seemed odd to him for a vampire to be using glasses. We have perfect sight... He resisted the urge to ask, instead bringing the attention to a scarf resting along his forearm. "I would like to thank you for your assistance." he spoke with a rather serious tone. "I may have mentioned you to an individual who tends to my wounds." His eyes sharpened, "In appreciation, she knitted this scarf for you. While I am uncertain if you appreciate scarfs, she assumed you did given my tendencies." He kept a serious expression through his explanation. "She knitted an M along the ends, for I had to provide your name." His head slightly turned to the sound of chattering coming from the far end of the room. It was clearly busy this time around. He reached out to give Myrnin the knitted scarf to the other vampire, "It would be in your best interest to accept a gift from an individual as loyal as her." His eyes were twitching a little. He turned away to hide the sly fluster on his face. (Heeeeeeeeeeello!) Slowly, the book was closed and Myrnin's position on the couch shifted until he was leaning against the arm of it, looking up at Elliot. His expression was odd, a mashup of confused and strangely appreciative. Elliot was a bit stiff in his manners and personally Myrnin doubted he liked him. Myrnin didn't much care for Elliot either, though the feeling wasn't set in stone. His hand snapped out, grabbing the scarf and then pulling it back to him as if he feared being too close to Elliot would prove toxic or that the other vampire was somehow contagious. Oh horror! Maybe boring was contagious! That was a scary thought. He felt along the length of the scarf, turning it over to look at both sides. Someone ... had made this for him? Just for tossing some medical supplies at Elliot? They didn't even know him. He didn't really know what to say ... "Thank her please," he said after a second. He ... hadn't expected to get a gift from anyone. He rolled the scarf up, placing it in a pocket. He'd wear it. Of course he would. But not right now. He had a feeling that a randomly appearing scarf turning up when he blinked back to his world would raise a few eyebrows.

Ears ringing and - if there was anything at all to hear - not picking up any sound other than said tinny ringing Vanessa dropped her hands. And looked around. The tree she'd been in looked like it had just gone through one of the worst days of its life and was devoid of leaves. The blix ever so slowly uncurled from where she'd been sitting and instead sat up. She frowned. She did that a lot. But in this case, she was mildly more annoyed than she had been knowingly becoming. She wasn't really sure where Astolfo was other than back in the direction she'd just come from but she didn't really want to go chasing after him. The world was still completely silent and she was hoping this wouldn't be permanent hearing loss. Since she was a bit angry she decided to wait there and see if the ditz caught up ... Astolfo stood up from his bow, pink eyes searching the forest around him. Now that was over, where'd Vanessa gotten to? Figuring it was time to put that flying ability to use, he held out his arms and rose up through the bare branches above him into the air. "Mmm. It never gets tiring seeing a pretty night sky..." The servant mused, taking a second to observe the now unlimited view he had of the stars. The sky wasn't a familiar one, for it bore no constellations, but it was pretty anyway. If only the others were here to see it too... "Ah, stop getting so mopey!" Astolfo chastised himself and shook his head. He returned his attention back to the forest below, only for his mouth to fall open when he saw that everything for miles was a sea of samey looking trees. Reaching up to rub his head uncertainly, "Oh boooy... This might take awhile..." The Rider dove down closer and first began scanning the stretch of forest cleared out by his NP. Maybe Vanessa had started heading back to where they had split up and he could intercept her. Eventually after what felt like an eternity of searching, a humanoid shape came into view, sitting in the braches of one of the trees. "Yooo!" Astolfo called from above her, doing a few circles in the air as he tried finding a good spot to land. Unbeknownst to him, he wouldn't be the one to decide where he'd be going, as quite suddenly the flying enchantment wore off and he was sent plummeting down towards the ground. "Craaap!" If it had been any sane person, they would have been panicking, but this servant was neither of those. That shout had been from the suprise of the enchantment wearing off, not the fact he was now on a collision course with the earth. If anything, he was used to things like this by this point... Passing right by Vanessa, he crashed through the top lair of the forest and landed... On a large, glowing mushroom which cushioned his impact. There was that A+ Luck stat kicking in for him. "Stupid luck," muttered Vanessa to herself, gripping a branch to keep herself in the tree as she bent over and looked down at Astolfo. Her expression was mildly worried, since she hadn't expected him to come tumbling down like that. Since things seemed to have been taken care of on the forest floor - at least to the blix's knowledge - she dropped down to the next branch and then the forest floor. She missed landing on Astolfo and the mushroom, though she might have been tempted to see if his luck would have included avoiding her. "Thanks for dropping in," she said, her pun horribly clanking against her vocal cords. She used her shoe to poke at the mushroom, eyebrows rising. "You might want to get out of that. It may be poisonous." She wasn't sure. Giant mushrooms weren't that common where she was from and certainly not this type. She wished she had some of her collection jars and vials on her. But something told her that the House wouldn't be too willing to let her take home parts of the rooms. "Any thoughts on how to get out of the room now you've almost died twice in it?" she asked. She didn't say 'I told you so' but she hoped she didn't need to.

When Arlo blinked into the living room, it was obvious that something was wrong. The girl was sitting on the floor with her back pressed against the wall. She was in the same clothes she'd had the last time she'd blinked, but she now had a oversized dark grey coat and a backpack. She was trembling, wide eyes darting around the room as tears rolled down her face, but even as she started to recognize the change in her surroundings, she remained silent. One hand was twisting the chain of her locket, the other was clamped tightly around the handle of a large knife. One of the ones she'd carried as an adult.

If Julius could guess, the House was stealing their magic and using it against them. It was a bit worrying now that he thought about it. He wasn't particularly concerned if it used Astolfo's magic, but his own magic however... The viper bit his lip with a frown. Shadow by itself like this wasn't something you could exactly fight. If the user wasn't willing to stop, then the only way to make it go away was to use light magic. Unless, the shadow was corrupted, as was the case with Julius. Corrupted shadow was just too dense to simply make it go away with light magic. He swallowed hard, "We need to find a way to get the f*ck out of here." No matter where he looked, the floor was covered in shadow. There were no signs of where it came from either, "...Or stop the source. Before more comes out." They'd be in serious trouble once the whole air was covered, but for now it only seemed to be spreading slowly. He quickly continued forward, desperately finding any sign, for anything out of the ordinary.

"I didn't say that," said Kaito dryly, looking at someone or maybe something which was no longer there. He was wearing a black suit, hair visible without the hat, and generally appearing like a normal person. His expression was vaguely annoyed but it was soon replaced when he saw where he was. He blinked, surprised, then looked around to see who else was in the room. He froze up a bit when he saw who else was in the room and his eyebrows knitted together in concern. Hesitantly, he stepped forward and then crouched so he was closer to Arlo's height. "Arlo ..." he said, voice gentle. "What's the matter?" He swallowed, throat suddenly dry. He was remembering, in the back of his mind, the last time she'd blinked in in distress. If this wasn't his Arlo ... was it possible she was facing a deadly occurrence back in her world which might have a different outcome?

Raizel stood in silence, taking in Pallet's reaction as well as Ougi's mannerisms. It seemed as if his words were falling on deaf ears, for shame, but nonetheless respectable-to an extent. He was aware that changing perspectives is but a dream, and even more aware that some ideals cling stronger then others. On the other hand world's varied so laws may be different or balance was simply absent from their reality overall. He wanted to comment , speak up with something his friends called, a comeback, but he couldn't. It was not like him to do so, on the contrary it was something his servant would do. Being uncertain of what to say, or how to reply he looked away with sly embarrassment.

"Not so easy, eh?" Matt's shouting was smothered by a new found wave of pride once reaching the other side of the rusting fence. What accompanied his pride was a ghostly echo of the fence beneath him clank after his movements. At the noise he slowly looked down watching the friendly guide fall huffing and puffing like the big bad wolf he was. No longer did he focus on the fence itself but the ruckus they were causing. His intent gaze settled over the less athletic of the pair, stepping over toward to the point of overshadowing him ominously. His dark clothes melded into the dark landscape, his contrasting mask gave shape for his face. Regardless of points, he earned himself a sliver of experience from it which was commendable for a sloppy newbie. "You'll get used to it." He held held out a gloved hand to pull himself up with - it was the least he could do. “Thanks, man,” he said, accepting the help and getting stiffly to his feet. “That might be the second most embarrassing moment of my life, actually,” he added, squinting at the wall now that he had finally made it over. “Ain’t built for this stuff, I swear.” His awkwardness was soon forgotten, though, when he got a proper look at the old, rusted ride for the first time. “Oooh...spooky, huh?” he said, grinning. Then, he hopped over to the control station, glancing at the controls to see if the thing would start. “Hmmm....a power source...” Now this was his area of expertise. “Hey, uh - you wanna have a look around and see if you see a generator or anything we could plug these controls into? We need a power source.”

The Demon looked over her two Housemates as silence seemed to fall between the trio. From the interactions, it was clear the Ougi seemed to see more of Pallet's perspective than Raizel's but was most likely just trying to get a read on both creatures enough to get some kind of upper hand, or, she just preferred knowing as much about the beings that she met as possible. Either way, it seemed that Pallet had found a kind of kindred spirits of sorts, as well as something that gives their opinions about others lives far to easily, despite obvious ignorance. Despite the annoyance of it all, it could actually be quite entertaining. "So, you two attend schools? What's that like, needing an education?" The implication of which was, of course, that Pallet had never been in need of an education herself.

There was an almost tangible tension between these two blinkers’ ideologies. Ougi couldn’t help but smirk out of satisfaction, brought out of her wondering about Pallet’s purpose and intent. She waved one floppy pink sleeve cuff dismissively. “Oh, burn me with your stares, why don’t you?” the student jested, a light, excited note entering her voice before it returned to its normal low and ominous tone. “Needing?” Her gaze locked onto Pallet, but it was analytical. She couldn’t decide at first whether to mention that she was an aberration, and as such didn’t technically need an education at all. Instead, she tapped the sole of her shoe to the ground more. “You should try it sometime... there are plenty of people to manipulate in schools.” The suggestion was accompanied with a very slight raise of the shoulders, and a sidelong smile.

Shrouded in silence, the one thing Raizel was good at, he couldn't help but at times glimpse towards his side, as if he were expecting Frankenstein to jump out towards what would be claimed as insults and disrespect. Yet there was no Frankenstein, which was relief to an extent. Returning his attention towards the two he couldn't help but feel sorry for Pallet, her one sided perspective seemed similar to that vengeance ravaging his best friend for the longest time. She was clearly missing out on exploiting through new means. His expression was caught a bit off guard when Ougi responded to Pallet's question. It was surprisingly relate able to a few of his own school experiences. He couldn't help but nudge his head a little , "I agree, school's have a lot of influence. They have these people called teachers who are like leaders that teach, and influence the individuals who attend their classes daily." He couldn't help but flinch, pulling his shoulders back recalling the principal. "They teach you modern day ideas, and concepts to survive society. Given our history teacher's lessons, modern changes based on the time. Therefore things change." He crossed his arms, then rested a hand under his chin to ponder. His movements swayed in a charming fluid motion, "like Ougi said, you can manipulate through the established system." oh you attractive charming , poor soul

(I went and read through some old posts bc I couldn't remember how much Arlo told him about her past- looks like she told him that she was stuck on an island for about 10 years and that she never saw her parents again, but she never said exactly what happened to them) Arlo flinched when the silence in the room was finally broken by someone else appearing, her gaze immediately snapping onto the other blinker. One of the guys from the snowball fight- Kaito. It had been less than an hour since that blink, but so much had happened. When she'd blinked into the lodge, her mother had just woken her up. Arlo had thought that something was wrong then, but she couldn't have predicted how bad. Her grip on the knife loosened a bit, but she remained silent for a few more moments before finally finding her words. "M-my parents..." she started, almost inaudibly quiet, "My mother woke me up... there were strangers at our camp. She told me to stay quiet no matter what. Said to hide in the bushes and go back to the boat if anything happened..." She trailed off, her gaze dropped to the locket she kept turning. "They-" she broke off, a small sob escaping as she forced herself to say the words she was still struggling to believe, "They killed my parents."

Seeing the book close, Elliot herd the sound of the book closing echo in his head. It could either indicate that he would pause his reading, or that he was disrupted from a good reading. His eyes were brightly illuminating, he didn't necessarily dislike Myrnin, he just found the vampire to be barbaric in some ways. It was different but not necessary bad, his emotions though... He couldn't help but linger on that. The word vampire seemed to be similar across worlds, but it was evident that it varied in some aspects. Seeing Myrnin reach out for the scarf with , hesitation? He pushed through securing that the item was transferred. Hearing nothing, there was a spike in piling thoughts. How dare he not appreciate- Hearing Myrnin asking to thank the individual behind the scarf, his entire stiff body eased up. He now hesitated to speak up, his piling thoughts were quickly kicked away, and his own suppressed emotions were flooded in confusion. Closing his eyes briefly, he used that opportunity to swallow his suppressed conflicted emotions. "I will gladly inform her when she is in my presence." He replied keeping a formal, yet serious tone. Unsure what to say next he found himself awkwardly standing upright , with his eyes glancing away. After what he considered to be an eternal silence he spoke up, "If you have the time, would you care to indulge my curiosity?" Elliot asked with disinterest, "What are the vampires like in your world?" He softly asked.

Pallet smirked. "You miss understand me. There's a difference between attending school for an education, and spending time on a campus to...do what I do." The Demon pointed out. "College campuses specifically are festering cesspools. My sisters and I often go to parties and that sort of thing. But we never stay to learn." She wrinkled her nose at the thought of it. The demon turned her gaze on Raizel as he spoke, quirking an eyebrow. "I could never spend enough time in the human realm to become a teacher and influence." She stated as if it was obvious. "I'm not a possessive demon. Besides, that isn't how demons work at all..." Pallet sighed, shaking her head. "I was asking about the need for an education. The last thing that I need from either of you is tips. I know the best places, the best ways, and the best times to do everything that I need to. I have been the cause of hundreds of possessions, I have led countless souls into Hell, and that was all within my first hundred years. It's cute, don't get me wrong, that you think any of your suggestions or ideas could be helpful. But they aren't, they never will be. So, continue if you feel the need, I'll happily explain the stupidity behind the suggestion. I guess the best way to explain this is, I know my world better than you do." That same sweet, gentle smile matched the sweet tone of her voice, but it was clear she was becoming annoyed. Pallet had very few virtues, as one could imagine, and patients was not one of them.

Ougi’s foot tapping slowed to a stop. Her dark bangs fell in front of her face to subdue her expression. Raizel’s... advice, did seem characteristic of him. She wondered if he was becoming attached to the world of humans and modernity a little too much through school. She did stifle a laugh at the suggestion that Ougi was at school to learn, and she was now trying to keep the corners of her mouth down. In a way, she was there to learn about people. And in a way, she was also attending school because she was merely an oddity attached to a real student. But she had never thought about whether she actually gained anything from being in classes. “Tell me, do humans acknowledge your existence in your world?” She said it passively, but she was eager to hear Pallet’s response. This demon seemed more than willing to inform the others about everything in her world—and boast about it.

"So, it was probably the House's doing." If Julius could guess, the House was stealing their magic and using it against them. "Right!" Astolfo nodded in confirmation and followed after the viper. Even if his cheerful tone sounded the same, his demeanor had grown more serious. While he didn't particularly want to get cooked alive himself, his main priority was going to be getting the other blinker out. Stop the source...That was something he might actually be able to help with. The Rider came to a stop and closed his eyes, trying his best to focus his senses despite the ever increasing heat. As a Heroic Spirit, he was able to detect magical energy at an enhanced rate. If he could just find the point where the shadow magic was thickest, it might be the source. While he was distracted with that, and since the mist already made it hard to sense anything else, he didn't notice that the room was already preparing another suprise for it's occupants. A taller pillar in the estimated center of the room changed it's light color from blue to white, then shot out a shockwave of magic and noise. "Hey! I think I fo-" Astolfo was cut off as the wave hit, catching him completely off guard and sending him slamming back first against a Piller, the world going silent from the overwhelming noise. Had he had Luna Break on him, he would have faced it and been fine. But since his Magic Resistance was already being tested by the shadow fog, he wasn't able to withstand the attack. Lucky for him, the NP that had just hit them was useless for actually killing a Servant, at worst making them go deaf for a short while. That wasn't the case for none Servants though, as it's power was still enough to completely vaporize some enemies.

Rolling over onto his stomach like he was on a big cushion, Astolfo simply grinned. "No problem! Looks like you hung in there just fine yourself." He rested his head on his hands and kicked his legs around lazily, making it obvious that since they were both now out of danger, he was perfectly comfortable. "Eh? Unless it's magical poison, I don't gotta worry about it." The rider hummed, "And even then, it has to be some pretty strong stuff." He had some pretty good Magic Resistance thanks to the passive effect of one of his Noble Phantasms, so he wasn't worried about that kind of thing. He tilted his head to the side at Vanessa's last question. He'd almost died twice? He wasn't sure about that. "I may be a pretty terrible Servant, but it'll take more then a small fall and some ghost wolves to kill me. We're pretty durable when we're not fighting each other. Now if that had been the case, yeah, I'd probably be in trouble." That was putting it bluntly as usual... "As for getting out? No. But I did notice something weird while searching for you." Astolfo finally rolled off the shroom, and walked a small distance away. He turned back towards Vanessa, then pointed at his cape, which was swaying sideways in a light wind. "See that? Now watch." He moved forward a bit and stopped. Curiously, the cloth was now moving slightly more behind him now, even though he was still facing the same way. "Depending on where you are, the wind changes direction."

(Oof, sorry for the long poof. “There used to be.” Kelsier’s fingers brushed the velvet petals of a tiny flower the color of an ocean sunrise. He moved as though to pluck it, but stopped, somehow unable to rob even that small amount of beauty from its natural lifespan. “Or so I’m told, by people who can remember it. All our plants are brown now.” the mistborn tilted his head back, looking up at the golden rays of sun that managed to fall between the huge leaves. “And my sky is different. The sun is there, but you can’t see it for the ashes and the mist.” The hiss tore him out of his thoughts and he glanced at Maladict, as though he expected the vampire to understand what it meant. When the older blinker didn’t react, neither did he, though he did glance curiously at the spot for a moment before turning back to his new companion with a cheerful smile. “If this is what your whole world looks like, I envy you. But I still wouldn’t leave my world, even if it is as ugly as the Lord Ruler’s face.”

XD ) Kaito's hands grew slack at his side and his mouth dry. Part of him was back in time, a child about Arlo's age, when he learned of his own father's death. How the world had been pulled out from under his shoes and tossed him out into unknown space. His mother had been there to bring him back, as had now distant friends ... but who did Arlo's have? He hadn't known her parents had been killed, though he had assumed they had died. She hadn't mentioned them, or if she had it was in the past tense. He reached out, squeezing her shoulder, but not sure how much comfort she would allow. He didn't think there were many ways to address this, his chest tight at the prospect, but Arlo's mother had wanted her safe. "And did you go back to the boat?" he asked quietly. "Are you safe?"

"I think it's called deserting and they cut your head off," Maladict pointed out from the gloom that hurriedly stopped being gloomy. A drop of water fell from his nose and he seemed a bit damp. The tent was leaking. It was raining heavily outside. He was still wearing the clothes he'd enlisted in and this was only his official second day of blinking. He blinked the water out of his eyes and used his hand to push the rest away. He glanced around the living room before his eyes feel on Hector. The vampire's eyebrows rose a bit, then he asked, "Hello. Who are you?"

"I see no reason why not," said Myrnin. But he thought about it for a little before he started to explain. "I don't know what being a vampire means in your world ... but the basics are we are created, not born. We were always originally human. He continue our existence by drinking blood." He lifted one hand, pointing to his mouth, where for a second a set of fangs snapped down before they retreated behind his human set of canines again. "We are unable to feel difference in temperature, are burned in sunlight, and weak to silver. We can blur - run very fast - and lift or rip things which exceed human strength. We can live for an indefinite length and grow more powerful the longer we have lived. Any questions?" A finger traced the cover of the book he was reading while one of his feet tapped against the floor. "And you ... how do your vampires differ from those in my world?"
