"Hmm..." At the other blinker's words, Arlo tilted her head slightly, her gaze sweeping over walls, bookcases, furniture, and the doorway that lead to hall before returning to Kaito again. "It's definitely alive, but I don't know if anyone knows anything more specific than that... or if it's even possible to find out," she replied, sounding almost like her older self for a moment.
"It was really cool!" she said quickly when he asked what she' thought of the lodge. "I wish I could have seen if the rooms were different though," she admitted. What would Christmas-themed rooms even be like? With the House it was pretty much impossible to know. "Too bad the House doesn't normally have an outsi-" she stopped suddenly when she heard a crash from near where she'd blinked in and spun to see the source of the noise- Elliot, who was currently on the floor. "Are you alright?"

(Press F for Mint) There it was, legs still shaking as it struggled along with the main herd. The others kept close to it, protecting it from the eyes of the blinkers. Salsa growled a little under her breath. This was ... problematic. She didn't know how to get it. She was assuming she needed to catch it alive. But those things didn't really look like they wanted to keep her alive. Salsa circled the herd once, finding the net which had been used before in attempt to catch the young deer. The wildclaw grabbed it on the way past. This was something she was more used to. She'd hunted creatures before and taking them alive wasn't a problem. Adjusting the net was a struggle for a second, but by this point the reindeer had caught up again. Even the little young one was there, but hanging near the back. Salsa breathed out slowly, eyes flickering over each of the creatures. Then she darted forward, leaping at the last second, and allowing the snare to be tossed to the wind. It missed the small deer, but she hadn't been aiming for it. Instead, it tangled up in the one which had been closely protecting it. Salsa, in the confusion, grabbed at the small reindeer, even as it complained loudly. Now she had it, however, she wasn't sure what to do. She was in the middle of deadly reindeer. But even as she thought that, the other reindeer disappeared in a flurry of snow, suddenly leaving Salsa standing in the middle of reindeer snowman. The wildclaw blinked, surprised. The small reindeer, still a regular deer, scrambled out of her arms. It seemed perfectly docile now, and looked back at Salsa as if it wanted her to follow it. It darted toward a tree, then back, then to the tree again and pawed at it. The wildclaw sniffed. Was it that easy? She scrambled out of the snow, walking to the different tree where Vanessa was still caught up in the branched. It took a little, but finally Salsa was carrying the passed out body of the woman. From there, she walked toward the tree the small reindeer indicated, reaching out a talon to rest on the trunk. The world rippled, returning to the living room. Take two. Attempt two. Maybe I should wake her up now. )) There were several more long minutes where Vanessa was out like a light. There was always the possibility she'd blink out when like this. At least no one would have risen an eyebrow on her falling asleep back in her world. She was breathing slowly, breath deep and seeming to be a long way from waking up. Maybe the movement jarred her. Whatever the reason, her eyebrows knitted together and she shifted. It was almost a risk of her falling back asleep, but the House was a bit dangerous to do that in. Her eyes opened with a snap as she jerked upward. She was on the couch. She rubbed at her hair, then stood, stretching. She didn't ask how the room had ended. She just glanced at Salsa, who seemed to be out of it. "Well," she said, an excuse on her lips as she prepared to say something. But she blinked out before she could finish.

Lark dawn"Oh Danny!" agreed Myrnin. "I saw him two weeks ago! My time, anyway. He don't come here very often anymore. I don't know if that's a good thing for him or not. But I've met him. He helped my ... boyfriend ... with a problem." His voice hitched when he mentioned Arthur and he clearly wasn't pleased that it had. He cleared his throat, glancing over at Chamomile. Even though they had their differences he still appreciated the Wildclaw. "I've met someone who was supposed to be a hero," he said, remembering Tenya. Not his name, per se, but what he had said. "Though 'hero' might not be the same thing." He thought he'd said that anyway. He'd also mentioned a brother. Myrnin waved the thought away. "But I really know more detectives around these days. And some gods." He missed Nico. His head tilted to look at Cham. He hadn't heard of Kurt before. "Can you float then?" he asked Neb, suddenly very interested. "Like ..." He waved his hand around as if trying to indicate levitation. "I have glowy eyes too sometimes, but that doesn't mean I have super powers. Just mind-control. And that's just for my species." He stated it so easily. It wasn't that easy. "But I'm fascinated. What does dark energy and matter mean in your world? Because I am sure to function as an ability it must work different from mine."

Living Room -- Kid -- --cato phoenix Auransky "Ouch," said Kid, wincing as Elliot blinked back in. His face scrunched up. "I've done that a couple of times. It is not fun." He shifted, looking down at the other blinker. Arlo had already asked if he was alright. Hopefully no bruises. It distracted him from hearing Arlo ... sound like Arlo. It was painful. But it also made him a little happy. Like he hadn't really lost her company and friendship. He'd have to tell younger Arlo about the rooms sometime. He remembered doing them with Ciel and Matteo and others. They were interesting. But he'd never played in the outdoors before. "So, apart from rubbing into things?" he asked Elliot, still looking at him with sympathy. "How did you like the lodge?"

Borogravia was landlocked. It had a river, which served as a border, but not only did it move around so much (and thus contested by ear) so Maladict had never seen it, but it wasn't large enough to compare to an ocean. The vampire seemed slightly panicky. And, also, water was not something he'd always been friendly with. Particularly moving water. And that was all the ocean did. Just because it seemed like a projection didn't make him comfortable. “Not … exactly.” He said, slowly picking himself up. “Don't you have to be in a boat for that?” Watching the reflective movement was already making his stomach toss. What did that mean? He'd never felt sick like that before. “Ugh … what do you do in a room like this?” "Hmm, you have a great point. You would have to be in a boat, or on an..." she looked toward the horizon with the small, green dot, "...island." She appreciated his scrutiny of the situation though, deciding not to belittle the comment so much. "Oh," the student added, "Don't worry. It looks like this kind of water somehow isn't fluid, and it also won't work against vampires. That won't stop you from getting seasick though." Ougi paced out toward the boat now, having finished going in circles, and didn't so much as glance back toward him over her shoulder to be sure he followed. She walked like one would walk down the hallway of a school, or in a line at a fast food restaurant: mundane steps, but with a purpose that she would soon fulfill. She even seemed to be reaching out toward the boat as if that would make the process develop faster. "In a room like this, you proceed to where you are not. In other words, you continue to discover something new until you discover the answer, whether the newness is something physical or mental. So in a room like this, you follow the most obvious clue; trickery usually doesn't appeal to this place." "Apparently not," said Maladict, still looking as close as a vampire could to pale. "'Seasick'. Appropriately named." He glanced toward the green dot, wondering if it was an illusion as well. He took in what she said about the room, curious, as he followed. He hadn't expected it to be as straightforward as that. Usually practitioners of magic rarely actually did any magic. At least for the few witches he'd had the misfortune to meet. They were more for trickery or practical magic than they were for the flashy wand and broom style of things. "So ... if that's the case," he said after a second. "Shouldn't we be questioning why we can walk on this water like it's the ground? That sounds like it would follow the same principle."

Lark mintedstar/furNeb smiled. Though it was hard to trust the time around everyone, it was nice to hear that Danny still came around. Maybe she'd get to catch up with him too. "Ah--" She glossed over the little hitch in Myrnin's voice when Chamomile spoke up. "He was around my age, I think. Fifteen-ish? Blue body, a tail; he could teleport too." That was about all she could remember, she hadn't really gotten to know him before she...left.
"Mm, no I can't personally like this," she then turned to answer Myrnin again and gestured to her body. Maybe she'd show off a bit with her forms if so inclined, she didn't really mind when it came to curious people. "I can manipulate the gravity around others though." Neb's brow rose at 'mind control'. That was interesting to know. Now for her main powers-- "Well, I think it means to same as most worlds, I can just...harness it for myself." She didn't fully know how to explain it. Too much science stuff behind it, and she didn't want to get into her exact nature at the moment. "Here, like this." She held a hand out and her eyes glowed brighter as the purple and black energy began to bubble in her hands.

Combeferre appeared, giggling loudly. "Papa, you can't just-" he cut off as he noticed the stark change in surroundings. It didn't look like the Lodge, but then again hadn't someone mentioned that the actual House was slightly different? Maybe this was that. He definitely liked the other place better, but that didn't stop him from being curious about the new place he had found himself in. He glanced around, eyes catching on someone of a similar age to him, maybe a bit older. Normally he'd be frightened, but she looked pretty silly with the chalk on her hands. She didn't seem like the type to make fun of him, at least not right away. He took a deep breath and came a few steps nearer.

striderLooking back once, Sam grinned almost halfheartedly and raised one sleeve covered hand to wave at The Doctor. He didn't notice Lady Grey smiled a little as well before she touched his shoulder, indicating him to move back into the safety of the building. He was about to turn away from the door when he blinked in. Samuel froze, foot mid-step, and looked around the room. He was hesitant as he laid the foot down, expression puzzled and bothered. Myrnin and The Doctor leaving messed with him. Not answering his questions as to why bugged him more. He shoved both hands into his pockets, muttering under his breath as he said, "Fine. Whatever. Don't tell me what's going on. That's fine." Should he have expected more than that? He didn't know these people. Not really. They were just the only ones he had to turn to. He was a charity case. At least in the House he didn't have to have much of a past. He didn't have to focus on the mess his life was. He blew upwards, stirring his bangs, and spun around a couple of times on his heals before falling backwards into the couch. He sprawled across it, hoodie and hair and overlong sleeves making quiet a picture. "Gaaaaaaaaah stupid adult!" he exclaimed to the ceiling.

He sucked in a deep breath as he adjusted to the House, thankful that it had given him a minute to cool down. Because there were plenty of people in his world he would have liked to punch then and there, but conflict wasn't going to get them anywhere. And he was still working on making himself seem like someone trustworthy. He didn't think he'd ever really achieve that, but... he pushed his breath out as he forced the thoughts away from his mind. At least here there were people who didn't know him back when he'd been figuring everything out. And the ones who had... well, they'd forgiven him. That was nice. Of course there were other problems here, but... those were things he could mostly avoid. They were also things that hadn't been directly his fault. He glanced over, sensing someone in the room. He vaguely recognized the other boy, but he couldn't actually recall if they'd ever talked.

--cato phoenix mintedstar/fur : The Living Room : Kid , Mini Arlo & Elliot Elliot winced briefly, despite being used to be thrown into things, the impact was never fun. He slowly shifted to get back up, using the same wall which he had just rammed into a few moments ago. "I should be okay." He addressed the two, "I appreciate your concern." He softly addressed directly towards Arlo. It was nice, to have someone ask a simple question for a change, no one ever asked him if he was okay... except for those few... but they aren't actually in the army... He stretched his shoulders back, then placed a hand along the shoulder he impacted the wall with. "I had fun.." He slowly addressed kid. "It was nice, to play in the snow." He was grateful for the opportunity. and not being hunted down... that's always a nice change Once upright he adjusted the scarf he had around his shoulder earlier, unfolding it from it's square hold, he folded it so that the thinner ends could wrap nicely around his neck like a traditional scarf. Next he picked up the Kimono skirt, and shirt. "I'm gonna admit, that I'm really glad I wore more clothes underneath." He softly admitted. "I was expecting an attempted murder, but a snowball fight works just the same." He started to fold the clothes so he could rest them along his arm. "This place overall is very different. I've traveled worlds, many in fact... but this place. I just can't help but find comfort. Yes, other's have mentioned dangers here, but I feel like... those dangers will never compare to what awaits back home." He couldn't help but share his thoughts, it might make him sound insane given everyone else's feedback, but it was how he felt in comparison to back home.

His attention was sharply drawing to the other boy and for a moment he tensed. It had seemed like he was distracted with something tense for a little there. "Looks like you were having a good of a time back in your world as I was back in mine," said Sam with a wain smile. "I'm just taking advantage of the couch while I don't have to worry about it." His voice was probably lighter than he really felt, but he was feeling better than he probably deserved. He shifted so he was sitting properly on the couch instead of laying across it. "Here's half of it if you wanted to take advantage of it as well. My name's Samuel. What's yours?"

Nico forced a smile himself, shaking his head slightly. "Let's just say sometimes I'm glad the House intervenes when it does." He glanced at Sam, somewhat surprised he was offering part of the couch to him. He narrowed his eyes slightly, too used to hidden motives before he forced himself to breathe and realize it was probably just a kind offer. And if it wasn't then it was no skin off Nico's back. He didn't actually care that much, and he could get away quickly. He shrugged off the thoughts and moved forward, taking a seat, but as far away from Sam as possible. No insult to the other boy, but just that... well, the idea of contact still made Nico a bit shaky. Not that he'd admit that. "Thank you," he said quietly, only looking back up once Sam introduced himself. "I'm Nico. Nice to meet you, Sam."

Sam didn't seem to notice Nico's choice of seating being out of the ordinary. He had offered half the couch, after all. Instead he leaned his elbow on the couch, then had to fight the awkward, overlarge sweater just to find his hand so he could play with the necklace around his neck. "Just a second actually," he muttered. He was done with this thing. He pulled the sweater over his head, revealing a black t-shirt with a band logo on the front. He bundled the sweater up, aimed for the furthest chair, and tossed it like a basketball. His aim was accurate and the bundle of clothing landed in the seat. Free! thought Sam. This also meant a lot more of his sickly pale skin was exposed, but it was better than getting lost in his own clothing. He looked back at Nico, still with the small smile on his own face. "Sorry. I've been stuck in that thing all day. You'd think I would have thought to take it off by now, since I blinked in a couple minutes ago." He wasn't aware that blinking in as much as he had for two days straight wasn't usual. He studied Nico, generally taking in his appearance. His brain had completely missed the sword the first time and he blinked several times at it. "Do you role play or something? That's a super awesome sword!"

dawn Combeferre grinned as the girl reacted to his presence. At least she didn't seem hostile. "Hello!" he replied, his accent hitting the word hard. He figured more people spoke English so it would be better to speak it here even if the House did translate everything. At least then he'd know he had made a solid effort. He waved back, grinning widely. He liked the fact that her hands were so colorful. "My name is Combeferre. What's yours?" "Cool accent!" Clementine oohed, unaware that if Combeferre spoke his native language she'd still be able to understand him. She grinned back at him, honestly just happy and excited to finally meet another kid. It was all well and good at the motel, but it was just her and Duck and she missed being around others within her age. "I'm Clementine," she said. "Have you been here before?"

(exactly why i dont even try dx) Neb pulled back a bit when Myrnin leaned forward as he did, worried he'd hurt himself if he stuck his face so close. She wasn't used to there being this high of interest in her abilities - aside from those early tests as a child. "Oh, yeah I know Arlo's powers." Though considering how much younger she was, Neb wasn't sure of any extent of what she could do now. Taste? "I'm pretty sure you'd destroy your tongue if you tried," she said slowly, making sure to keep her hand just far enough so he couldn't react before her. And in response to the rest of the question, Neb curled her fingers in to let the energy take shape, first going for a standard orb before she took her other hand to add and stretch the matter between them. Then, after a quick glance up to make sure the way was clear, Neb threw her hand out to fire a beam at the wall.
