{{yeet haven't been here in a while}}
Annabelle faceplanted as soon as she blinked in, holding her laptop in her arms. The laptop fell and clattered to the floor. "AHHH WHY DOES THIS HAPPEN ALL THE TIME???" the teenage girl yelped, checking the screen of the laptop. "Oh thank the GODS." she sighed in relief. She didn't seem to care that there was now a cut that somehow went around her eye and not directly over it.

Any preference who I use? Xander (royal guard/mage in training) and Vyra (10 year old half elf who uses sign language) are available atm.)

(It doesn’t matter, the House translates everything. Think I’ll use Xander anyway Oh I forgot to tell you! The House currently appears as a winter lodge decorated for Christmas and there’s a door that goes outside)
Xander appeared sitting in a chair, holding his hands over a bowl of water on the table next to a small stack of books. According to Cyrus, water was one of the easier elements to control, as well as one of the safer ones to practice with in case it got out of control, but so far he was having no luck. The water simply refused to do anything. “I don’t know, maybe I can’t-“ he said as he finally looked up, stopping when he realized that he was no longer in the library. The place looked familiar, but he didn’t remember the decorations and it seemed a bit different... “Is this part of the Paradox House?”

Annabelle looked around, confused. "Is this a joke?" She set her laptop down and stood up. "The House never looks like this..." She looks at the door leading outside. "OOH! I finally get to see outside!" Her eyes shone with childlike joy. Today she was wearing a red, yellow, and white cosplay jacket and a t-shirt for a TV-show called Voltron, along with brand-new jeans and tennis shoes.

“The House didn’t have a door that went out before, did it?” Xander asked as he got up and moved the books a bit further away from the water. He didn’t want to explain what had happened if they got ruined. He walked over to the window and looked out at the snowy scene, trees visible in the distance. It didn’t look like Kirro, where the leaves were still changing colors. “I guess it’s winter here?” He hadn’t really thought that seasons existed in the House. Xander started to step toward the door, but stopped again, looking back at the books on the table. This was a good chance to study, but what if the House changed back before he blinked in again?

Annabelle glanced at Xander. "I haven't seen you around before! Wanna go exploring with me?" she asked, eyes shining brighter. "I didn't think there was such thing as weather here, kinda like where I live! We never get snow." The teen sighed softly.

“I don’t think we’ve met, my name’s Xander,” he replied. At her question, he glanced from the books to the door again. He could probably just study later... “Yeah, I guess I could go explore a bit- this door might not be here next time. We should be careful though.” Hopefully it wasn’t a trap, he’d heard that the rooms were dangerous, but he’d heard nothing about a door that went outside. He opened the the door and stepped out, looking around cautiously as he took a few steps away from the lodge. “I didn’t either... there’s snow during winter where I live, but it’s just the beginning of autumn now.”

"Mine's Annabelle." Annabelle followed Xander with a wide grin. "It's been years since I saw snow like this!" she exclaimed, hazel eyes shining bright. She suddenly got an idea, scooping up a handful of snow and packing it into a ball before throwing it at Xander. "SNOWBALL FIGHTTT!~" she yelled before taking off running.

Loki studied the boy for a moment, getting an odd vibe from him similar to Myrnin's. And Myrnin had called himself a "garden variety monster". So Samuel was presumably not human. The House brought in such an odd combination, and Loki was curious about how it chose. "I am Loki, of Asgard. And you are?" Loki was rather unfamiliar with the holidays celebrated on Midgard, mostly because they'd never cared. Rather than being miffed at their lack of knowledge, they simply glanced around the décor with a haughty look, as if it was beneath them. "Mmm. This place seems to prefer Midgardian customs, does it not?" "No. And I presume you are?" Loki asked; Samuel's answer had been implied with how he'd asked and his knowledge of Midgardian customs. (I can't believe you remember 'garden variety monster'. XD ) One of Samuel's eyebrows arched. Asgard? Personally, he had no clue about what that was, but he supposed he'd just go with it. It certainly wasn't on Earth. "I'm Samuel," he answered. Then there was a long pause. "Of Texas?" He supposed that worked? He was *not* telling the weird blinker his home town - especially since it probably wasn't his hometown anymore. He didn't remember how he'd ended up on the border of Morganville. He only remembered the limited amount of time he'd spent there ... and how bad it had been. "Midgardian?" he questioned, after Loki had responded to his statement about the holiday items about the room. He'd assumed they were from another planet, but then there was 'Midgard' and he wasn't too sure anymore if Loki was completely unfamiliar with it. "I ... suppose so? Midgardian is another word for someone from Earth?" At least he could answer the last question. "Yeah. I am. I was born there." But, since he'd just practically been dragged away from it thanks to the House, and he wanted to impress Loki (a pointless endeavor, but the boy tried) he added, "But I've been to another planet."

(sweet lol also sorry if this is terrible ^^”)
Mikaela blinked into the winter lodge by the fireplace. He looked around and only sighed before plopping down on the couch, his head in his hands. The teenager was hoping to never show up here again; it’s just added stress to what he was already dealing with. But if he waited around long enough, then he’d eventually disappear.

(It's fine! <3 )
Myrnin appeared in the House, on the couch, a pair of glasses perched on his nose and a book in his hands. He didn't seem to notice where he was for a second, but as he turned the page of the book, he said, "If you sighed any louder, Mikaela, you'd shake the dust off the rafters." He pushed his glasses up his nose and glanced over. "You could try reading, if you are that bored."

Mikaela raised his head, glancing over at the other blinker. “Oh... it’s you,” he grumbled slowly. “It sure has been a while, hasn’t it. I was kinda hoping to never see you or this place again. But I’ll never get that lucky.” He shook his head and leaned forward just enough to see the book Myrnin had. “What are you reading anyways?”

(Sorry I poofed) "It's nice to meet you Annabelle," Xander replied. So far it appeared safe enough outside the lodge, but he kept one hand on the hilt of his sword just in case. It was strange seeing snow in what should have been the beginning of October, but it was kind of nice. Just a peaceful winter day... and then a snowball hit his shoulder, bits of snow flying into his hair and sticking to his coat. "Hey!" Xander shouted, laughing as he turned to face Annabelle again. He grabbed some snow from where it had collected on the windowsill and formed a snowball, then sent it flying at the girl as she ran away.

The snowball hit Annabelle's shoulder, throwing her off ballance. She face planted into the snow, and when she came back up, white flakes speckled in her brown hair. "Oh, I'll get you for that, Xander!" she yelled, laughing as she gathered more snow. "You got snow all over my glasses!" She threw another snowball with a giggle. She then ducked behind a snowdrift, taking cover.

Inside the Lodge -- Myrnin -- broken"Just me," said Myrnin with a thin lipped smile. He closed the book, but then realized Mikaela was asking about it. He held it out. "It is apparently a book that the youth of my time are supposed to enjoy." He didn't seem to find as much interest in it as he had before he'd had Mikaela to talk to. "My sympathy you haven't found anything at least tolerable in this place yet. I had hoped I would grow on you." He seemed a bit amused, but still held out the book to Mika. "Most of it is just pictures. Do not discount your luck just yet. As long as you can still move you still can make things better."

Mikaela stared at the book for a little bit in silence, then pushed it away as he looked up at Myrnin. He was trying to think of something snarky to say back, but couldn’t really. It’s true that he didn’t completely hate Myrnin but he would probably never admit that. “No matter what, I’m still going to hate this place,” he muttered with a shrug. “But it’s whatever I guess. I’m stuck here, so I should stop complaining about it and pretend I like it.” He paused for a moment, then said, “and at least I can tolerate you for now, until you give me a reason to hate you again.”

Winter Lodge -- Myrnin -- brokenMyrnin snorted, crossing his legs. "You don't have to pretend. There are a lot of people who hate this place. You don't have to like it to fit in." He closed his eyes behind the pair of glasses even as he reached up and adjusted them again. One finger slipped a little, and it was clear the glass had been punched out of the lenses. "Again?" he said, opening one eye and looking at Mikaela curiously. His eyebrow rose. "My apologies for your original hate of me. But I'm glad you can tolerate me now." He sat up, arms crossing in front of his chest as well. "If you're stuck, you might as well make the best of it." He waved a hand around at the decorations. "Do you have a Winter holiday where you're from?"
