Volt's shoulders tensed in anger. "You said that before it attacked us too." She pointed an accusing finger at The Doctor. "You know what would have happened? We would have been trapped up in that tree with an angry, injured beast waiting for one of us to fall. That shot was meant to maim! I'm surprised your tree gremlin is still standing." The Tenno gestured in frustration towards the purple-haired girl in The Doctor's arms. "And yet for all of that we still don't even know what planet we're on! We might not even be in the Origin System anymore. I've never heard of Gallifrey, or wolfs, or know in the queen's rear that thing is." A gesture now directed towards the white striped feline creature. "We haven't gotten anywhere!"
With that, Volt turned abruptly to the side and crossed her arms, staring holes into the ground. While she was fully aware her helmet didn't convey expression, if she kept speaking the tremor in her voice would have betrayed her fear. When she had been awoken from cryo, at least she had had a family of sorts, a leader, and a companion. Now she was entirely alone, left to make her own judgement calls, and all of them were wrong.

Running a hand though their hair, the vampire humphed. They allowed a surprised smile on their face, "Um. Yeah, it is a bit. You should try saying my full name sometime. It's a lot longer." They'd expected an adverse reaction. Borogravia had 'views' about women. If it wasn't for the fact the whole country kind of needed them to continue existing all of them would probably have been kicked out with the dwarves and foreigners. Joining the army or fighting at all was unheard of. Mal was breaking a few more norms and outright laws than just Borogravia's. They were for their own father and family as well. Vampires had 'views' too. "A bit," they admitted. "My family know I can do it, but no one else really does. If I did it in my own world ..." They pressed their lips together and shrugged as if it didn't matter as they said, "Then my superiors would find out I wasn't a man and at best they'd send me home. Then I'd have to go back to my family and they'd have words on the matter. It wasn't like they fact liked the fact I reformed either." Mal elaborated after a second, since after experience it had become clear others didn't always know what reformed vampire meant. "Swore off blood, that is. I can turn into a magpie, have heightened senses, a bit faster and more agile than a human, and I can't die. That's ... about it." “You’ll have to tell me it sometime so I can give it a try.” As for Kelsier, learning that Maladict was actually Maladicta didn’t really affect him at all. Mostly, his mental profile of the vampire just did a quick update, and he was good to go. That, and the fact that he couldn’t help thinking of Mare now. He guessed she would have done something similar if the Lord Ruler has cared about gender, and since he really didn’t she had been able to try and help kill him without any pesky disguises. Thinking about her made him smile. Bittersweet was a good word for it. Or maybe a little bit wistful. He pulled his attention back to the other blinker and nodded. “Swearing off blood was probably a good call if you want people to hang out with you.” He couldn’t help teasing a bit, but the more serious look didn’t quite leave his hazel eyes just yet. “I wish I could turn into a bird...I'd go for something a little bit more intimidating than a magpie though. Not that the feathers aren’t very pretty, but have you ever seen an eagle?” There was a bird he’d like to be, powerful wings beating the air as he flew high, high enough that the ash couldn’t choke him. He let himself imagine that for a long moment. “Anyway, I’m a mistborn. I can draw different powers from certain metals I ingest, like the vials I drank in the room earlier.” It felt like the polite thing to do, after Mal had explained everything they could do, to share his cards as well. “Typically I'll use those, which are alcohol solutions with a blend of metal filings, but I can use anything I can swallow as long as it’s the right type. I’d show you one, but I used the last one trying not to get eaten by invisible wolves, so....” The vampire chuckled. "Yes. I thought so as well. That's what this means, by the way." They pointed at a black ribbon on their lapel. "I'm part of the Vampires' League of Temperance, or black ribboners." Dropping their hand, Mal pointed out, "My family had a run in with some humans a while back. It was a bit of an eye-opener for me at least." Esme Weatherwax was terrifying, for starters. They snorted, surprised at Kelsier's suggestion. "I didn't get much of a choice. Could say it's the genetics. The rest of my family turn into magpies as well. It's our family animal. Most vampires turn into bats - like, one vampire turns into a flock of bats. Turning into a single creature that's smaller than the other ... it gives me a headache." They didn't look like they had one, apart from maybe a slight tightening of muscles around their jaw. "I've seen an eagle though. Large birds with hooked talons. I'm not sure if I could imagine you as an eagle. A slightly bedraggle pigeon, perhaps?" They sounded amused and far more relaxed at this point. Mal seemed more interested in the description of mistborns. They hadn't heard of them before. "That's interesting. So, silver, gold, bronze? Things like that? Wouldn't that become expensive?"

"I'm fine," Neb mumbled quickly to the Doctor, taking her hand back. She still felt a bit winded, but the initial effects of the electricity had gone now. She inched to the side as the Doctor rounded on the alien now. As she found herself being naturally drawn to stand near Lily, Neb looked up at her, eyes still wide with a hint of confusion behind her gaze. "I thought you were dead, I haven't seen you in--" Wait. Her flabbergasted words came to a sudden halt as thoughts began to swarm her head. "Lily...where were you just now? Before here?"
Before she could even begin to fully fathom the sight of the tigress or even explain anything, Volt's voice rang out and Neb just found herself watching as the alien frustratedly shouted about this and that. And then it sunk it-- Ah, they were new faces here. Not just to her, but here in general. She somehow found amusement in 'tree gremlin', and straightened her back. "The Paradox House," she spoke up, making sure her voice found its way to those who didn't know. She glanced back to Lily, then to Volt. "It's not a planet. And--" this more directed at the Doctor-- "that might not have been a real living thing." Neb gestured to the wolf-thing. At least, she hoped it was only a House-made creature and not something brought in from a real world.

"Ya didn't need to," repeated The Doctor, eyes narrowed as she stared at Volt. "There was plenty of time to think of another way to deal with this without killin' it. Ya letting ya fear get the best of ya. If ya used ya head, then we wouldn't be standing in front of a dead wolf and I wouldn't be having this conversation with ya." And she wouldn't have been helping Neb keep upright. The Doctor didn't even know many of the names of everyone, so she nodded to the girl who was just standing there. "What's ya name?" she asked kindly. She was well aware they probably weren't just a child, but she still wanted to make her voice clear that she wasn't mad at them. Neb moved away, though The Doctor was a bit hesitant. She was on uneven footing as well, but clearly not as much as Volt. At least the girl in yellow galoshes seemed to be taking this well. Neb as well didn't seem as phased as her tiger friend. And then she started to speak. The Doctor looked over at her, pausing before she said anything else. The Doctor couldn't help frowning at what Neb had said, "What do you mean, not living?" It had seemed living. It had been breathing and now it wasn't. It had seemed hesitant to attack, but still furious with the aliens and other creatures invading its territory. It had *acted* alive. The Doctor wasn't too worried about *where* she was though. The Paradox House ... it was a new term, but that was okay.

Based on all her blinks so far, it seemed that this place brought people together who disagreed with each other. There seemed to be plenty of conflict, and she had no reason to involve herself in any of it. The Doctor wanted to preserve the wolf creature, and Volt wanted to destroy it, but she didn't have the initiative to side with either one. "Ononoki Yotsugi," she introduced when The Doctor asked. If there was intent to mend hard feelings, it was in vain, as Ononoki didn't have an inkling of hard feelings toward the other blinker. She wasn't in sync with social norms enough for that, even if she had the emotional capacity. "Who are you?" she asked then in return, seemingly staring straight ahead but missing The Doctor, her gaze hitting a tree behind the other blinker instead. "...I said with a posed look," she added. Her galoshes stayed close together, showing no sign of her fleeing from this mess. She was accustomed to it not only from her previous blinks, but from being a bystander in battles in her own world.

"It worked, okay?" Volt retorted. "And don't you dare use that tone to mother m-" The Tenno broke off her statement as the purple-haired girl spoke, probably for the best. Not a planet... ? After a moment Volt's head turned towards the group, frustration fading a little. The girl, or rather young woman, seemed to be much more at ease here than the rest of them. At the assurance that the wolf might not have even been real, she couldn't help but offer a 'See?' glance in The Doctor's direction. "So it's a ship, then?" Volt asked the purple-haired girl, projected voice cautious. She wasn't exactly sure what kind of reaction she might get, especially after intentionally electrocuting the person.

It seemed like the worst had come to pass. He didn't pay too much attention initially to how everyone got out of the impact range. He turned his head to look at the floor before him , there was some blood, most likely his from the initial impact. what a shame... I'm still alive he twitched, rolling over so he could face the ground. Using his forearms , he lifted himself off the ground into a semi plank, "I am-fine... " he softly spoke. It impact was painful, especially given how this place decided to reposition him from his initial fall. He could see the blood pool right in front of him now that he was facing the ground. He closes his eyes displeased with the pool of blood. "I appreciate everyone's concern." He politely added , despite his physical shaking from the impact. He slowly rose to one knee, his eyes glimpsing at the blood pool. "I truly hope that is mine and not in any way yours." He sighed. His attention turned to the giant tooth , only a few feet away. He let out a hefty shrug , then shook his head. He attempted to stand up, but struggled a bit due to his aching pain. He could still feel the gravity forcing him back down to the ground. At the same time , some of the blood had started to disappear. Relieved that Rue was okay, Rex accepted her hand and stood up, then immediately hurried back over to Elliot, pausing only slightly at the sight of Lovelace and her... hissing strings. As they fell away to reveal burn marks, he rolled his eyes. Great, a dangerous power. Couldn't they all have gotten something useless like a compass that didn't point anywhere? Either way, he didn't know Elliot or what this massive tooth thing was, but he did know that Elliot should not be trying to move. "Stop moving and lie back down," he ordered. Judging from the detached sounding of Elliot's words, Rex figured he was going into shock. Probably why the idiot was trying to move even after he'd fallen hard enough to dent a ship's deck. Either way, he needed to see where the blood was coming from and- Rex's thoughts ground to a halt as the blood pool began to shrink. Brows drawing together, he looked at Elliot. Blood powers? Whatever the hell it was Elliot had summoned to fling him and Rue away had looked like blood. Was he able to manipulate it? If that was the case, then at least they didn't have to worry about blood loss.

»ƑαƖcση Razzle Dazzle mintedstar/fur Neb regarded Ononoki with a curious glance as she watched her mannerisms in response to all that had gone down. She almost wanted to ask the girl if she was okay, but she blinked and looked to the Doctor, giving a short nod. "The House makes things. This forest? It's in a room, behind a door." As Volt shot a look in the Doctor's direction, Neb added, "I...can't promise for sure that it wasn't a real living animal. But I've been attacked by my fair share of things here, and in my experience it's been fake things the House used to mess with us." She frowned, trying to only recall the important aspects of the information she needed rather than go through the actual memories.
"No," she answered Volt, the glow of her eyes flickering as she cast her a wary gaze, "it's an alternate universe. More along the lines of a pocket dimension, I think. There are others here who might know better and be able to explain more; it's been a long time since I've tried to understand the House."

dawn »ƑαƖcση Razzle DazzleThe Doctor wanted to protest that, not only didn't they know it was a real animal, but being created by something didn't make it any less real. But it sounded like, for the time being, it would be a useless endevor. So instead she bit her tongue and focused on Ononoki's question. "I'm The Doctor," she said. She'd let Volt introduce herself, right now she was studying Ononoki with a slightly interested look. "If ya don't mind me asking," she said after a second. "Are ya an Android?" Just a hunch. She wasn't sure it was accurate or not, but Volt had already suggested they were on a ship and so far space travel and technology a bit further along than 21st century Earth had completely mastered would be needed for that. Alternate universe, however, was the true answer that Neb offered. The Doctor was concerned about that. Alternate universes tended to get hairy pretty fast. Pocket dimensions too didn't exactly call her friend. "Others?" she checked. "In this forest or outside of it?" So far, she'd been told this was a room. She didn't have trouble believing that. "And people just appear here? Without a way to get back?"

Ononoki was painfully neutral to the bitterness forming between Volt and The Doctor. She allowed Neb to explain and absorbed the information she had to offer, filing it away for later use. It would be interesting to see the aftermath if she managed to bring Kagenui here—she wondered if perhaps her master would be able to identify this place or even purge it altogether. Judging from the statement that it had been ‘a long time’, this blinker was a veteran. Her head turned very slowly when The Doctor asked the next question, her pointed ear exposed as if she were hearing the inquiry from a different room. “...Android. No.” She shook her head as she said it, just in case the words were insufficient. “You are not an android either.” She stated that as if it were meant to be the question: ‘so why did you ask me?’ She didn’t go beyond what was asked of her though, even when she could probably answer some of the questions about the Paradox House. Instead, she turned her head back to its forward-facing position and seemed to power down—as if an android even—by losing the small amount of motion that had animated her in conversation.

Volt uncrossed her arms. "An alternate dimension?" So everything she had just been introduced to, the power struggle of warring factions, the ancient technology, the lore of her own kind.... it was all gone. Just like that. The Tenno's shoulders dropped, not sure of how to respond. Then another piece of information clicked into place and she turned to The Doctor. "We... aren't from the same dimension. Are we?" She shot a glance at the purple haired girl for confirmation. "None of us were pulled here from the same place." After the oddly emotionless girl and then the Doctor introduced themselves, the Tenno figured it was as good a time as any to make a better first impression. Even though killing the wolf was still totally justified in her mind. "You can call me Volt." She hesitated. "For.. uh, obvious reasons."

"Outside of it," Neb confirmed, and nodded in response to Volt's assumption. "Right. We're all pulled from different worlds, universes, dimensions and what have you. But you're not trapped here forever. In a way." She couldn't help but to add the last bit. "You'll go back to your world from the exact moment you left. We call it 'blinking'," she explained, "it just happens randomly, you'll come and go as the House pleases." Neb stopped then, glanced between the present blinkers as names got passed around. "My name is Nebula Star - Neb works for short, if you want."

"It would make sense," said The Doctor to Volt. She didn't know who she was or anything she'd ever said in passing about her world. Logically, from what Neb had said, coming from different universes would make sense. The Time Lady glanced at Ononoki again and puzzled over what she might be or whether she was just a regular girl with an odd quirk. Still, it was just curiosity, since she felt bad about not addressing her very often. She wanted to be inclusive. "Ya don't seem surprised by any of this?" She allowed to to be a question, since maybe Ononoki would elaborate. To Neb, she said, "Alright. Is there a purpose to these rooms then?" She was slightly curious, but wasn't really sure if it mattered too much. If she'd end up back in her own world regardless of what happened then that was okay. But purpose ... things like this usually either had a purpose or cause. Either something had made it happen or there was a set reason or law for it to happen by. Then again, she kept being surprised by things no matter what she saw or how old she got. This could just be one of those surprises.

"So this will keep happening." Volt guessed. She looked up into the branches of the "forest," wondering if maybe the word "room" was an understatement. Something else was bothering her as well, but she couldn't pin it down. The Doctor seemed to be more aware of the mechanics of the situation, then again, she had called herself a "Time Lady." What kind of universe did she hail from? Where did any of these people come from? Carefully avoiding going anywhere near the dead wolf, Volt stepped aside to more closely examine one of the trees, keeping an ear -so to speak- on the conversation between the other three. After The Doctor finished with her line of questions, Volt couldn't help but add one of her own. "Why us?"

"Odd," murmured The Doctor. Volt's question had been a good one. She wasn't sure why any of them were important. Weeeeeell, she knew everyone was important. But it was one thing to be important and another to be randomly selected to be pulled into an alternate reality where anyone else could appear. That didn't seem like something that could randomly happen and not include more deaths than just what Neb was mentioning. Adults who couldn't fight, creatures like the wolf Volt had killed, ... children. There had to be some criteria, right? Or if there wasn't then this universe was just really lucky to end up with randomly selecting several competent people to end up in the same room just when they were needed. "Then, if this is a room," pointed out The Doctor. "Then there's an exit. Shouldn't we try an find that?" Both of her hands were shoved into her pockets and she shuffled around, circling the group to look at what was surrounding them much like Volt was. "Or wait for more wolf-creatures." She was still biting her tongue over that, holding in what she wanted to say.

[[ Forest Room || Eliyen || @...idk who all's here ]] "-kay, who wants to go next?" challenged Eliyen as she appeared, spinning her daggers. Her grin was replaced with a look of annoyance when her surroundings changed and the shades she'd been fighting were replaced with an odd assortment of, well, not exactly humans, standing around an odd-looking dead creature. Volt silently pondered the new information as she ran her metal-plated fingers over the rough bark of the tree. The little lights on her armor were slowly starting to brighten, indicating a return to normal energy levels. As Neb spoke, Volt took a moment to spare a glance at her, only to realize she was being watched. The Tenno met the girl's gaze for a few seconds, then returned to her examination of the tree. If Neb was waiting for some indicator that Volt would stay peaceful, she was out of luck. Still, Volt made sure to keep her hands away from her weapons. "I see." She replied. Something still wasn't right. Neb talked about the dimension as if the entire place were sapient, but that thought process was interrupted by The Doctor's pointed comment. "Okay, listen here, lady-." Volt abruptly rounded on the woman, but then stopped and clenched her fists by her sides, trying to keep her temper in check. "You- I- An exit sounds good." She visibly forced the tension from her body, but her projected voice still held the tone of someone gritting their teeth. She would be the bigger person. She would. Don't take the bait, Tenno.

Ononoki was a statue while The Doctor questioned her, keeping her gaze straight ahead as if she hadn't heard. She was always listening when people addressed her, but she hadn't interpreted what The Doctor said as a prompt for her to speak. Surely it had just been a statement. Either that, or she was just exploiting her blank disposition to avoid the question. The doll girl stayed dormant even when Eliyen blinked in just in front of her, when anyone else would ideally have stepped back to make room; it was as though she were a machine that would wake up on command. In reality, she was just waiting for someone to start walking so that she might follow, or address her, in which case she would have to respond. Even though she was lacking emotion externally, she still would choose to talk depending on who she was talking to. At the moment, it was Neb who interested her most, and she showed it with a simple stare.

She hoped the exit, whether it was doing something or as simple as finding it, would come fast. If they were going to keep making comments and be on the edge of arguing, Neb would much prefer it be after everyone was out and in the living room.
As she glanced about, Neb caught onto Ononoki's gaze fixed on her and she met the girl with a head tilt. "Oh, are you doing okay?" she asked. She was really quiet, but then again maybe it was just easier than trying to add to the rather strained conversation at hand. Before Neb could continue her thoughts, another woman blinked in and made way to look at the creature's corpse. "Well, show's not over yet," she remarked. "But yes, we should move now."

Raizel silently nodded, maybe there wasn't a reason to be sorry? Yet, he could find himself disagreeing with that. Understanding now that there were multiple worlds, vast more then the one he belonged from, he felt sympathy and pain from each one that was thrown into chaos. That isn't to say that his was in any better condition, but he knew there were people out there in his own world trying to do what they can to keep the world from shattering. Similarly he himself was one who had to protect the bridge between the humans and non humans. "Someone who wants to be your king? We have someone who wants to be a god." He couldn't help but shake his head at the thought. "Yet for now, if I may be selfish, I think it be best we refrain further from our ill awaited fates." His expression further softened. "I will be honest, I do not know what we can do here." He admitted. "Even back hone, I care not if there is anything or much to do." He further admitted with a hint of shyness to such terrible actions. He was trying his best to get more involved in the present era he currently resided in, but it was easier said then done to break his old habits of doing nothing for days at a time.

Myrnin watched what Sherlock did carefully, like he'd be tested on it later. He fumbled with his own water gun and tried to work it out. On the third try or something close to that he got the cap off and dunked it into the water again. The water rushed in to fill the empty space and the boy managed to lift the water gun without any problems. He grinned, then looked up at Sherlock. "Is there more things you can do with this. Anything we can do together instead of fighting against?" He looked really hopeful, wanting to play with his new friend and see what fun things he could think up. "Is - is that alright?" he asked, suddenly concerned that Sherlock might just want to play the one game. "I - I can continue playing this." Sherlock watched intently as Myrnin tried to copy his movements, sharp eyes taking in ever time he did something right, as well as something wrong. Several times he opened his mouth to correct the boy, almost reaching out a hand to do it himself, but he managed to stop himself before taking the toy from the little kid. It was hard to watch someone struggling to do something that was so simple for him without just doing it himself, but he could tell Myrnin wanted to learn, not just get it done. He could tell because that’s how he was, too. And seeing those bright green eyes light up was more than enough of a reward for him as the boy figured it out at last and dunked the toy, refilling it. He grinned back, a lopsided sort of expression as though he wasn’t used to doing it by accident. “‘Course we can.” He declared, spinning the water gun around his finger and spraying droplets of water from the outside in all directions. “There’s plenty we can do, it’d get pretty boring not to explore our options. What do you think we should do?” "I'm not sure," said Myrnin, looking over the large expanse of grass that really didn't contain much of anything. If they were in the forest, Myrnin knew several things they could have done for a game. He bounced on his heals, thinking about it, but still pretty unsure. What could they do ... what could they do ...? He looked over at the containers of water and then looked back at Sherlock, tilting his head. "Maybe we could do something with those? I'm not really sure." He'd never really had to come up with an idea for two players before. It was always just him playing or anyone he made up to do something. But the latter part didn't count. He wasn't at all sure how to play in a team and certainly not make up something they could both do. His face was a small mask of panic as he looked up at Sherlock, knowing that he was being a bother but not sure how not to be.

There it was again, being "brought" in. It was obviously not the newcomer's first time in this dimension, so maybe she had more information as well. Volt was tempted to ask, but somehow it seemed like the time for deep questions was being put on hold so they could figure a way out. At least this girl didn't seem to care that something had been -gasp- killed. "This path led us directly to the wolf." Volt commented, keeping her voice neutral. In a way, this whole fiasco had been her fault since she had wanted to follow the path in the first place. No point in calling that specific part out, but it did bring up the fact they hadn't investigated the water like The Doctor initially wanted to. The Tenno leaned back a bit to see if she could catch a glimpse farther down the trail. Nothing but more trees and undergrowth, and no real incentive to keep progressing this direction.

[[ Forest Room || Eliyen ]] Still a bit annoyed that she'd been pulled from her fight, Eliyen almost hoped that they would run into more of the creatures but did't say anything about it, just looked around the the trees and mushrooms. Since she'd never been in a room for very long, she wasn't quite sure what to expect. "Were you guys looking for something before you ran into that?" she asked no one specific, pointing to the dead creature. "Name's Eliyen," she replied with a grin as she turned to the woman who'd spoken- the most normal looking one in the group. "Shadehunter, thief and apparently interdimensional time traveler. Annnd you are?" Her gaze drifted from the Doctor to the other blinkers again, none of whom she recognized. "Hm, don't think I've seen any of you before actually."

"That's true," The Doctor pointed out, acknowledging Volt's words. "But it's still an option. Otherwise, I believe the river was that way." She pointed in the direction she had heard the water flowing before. She couldn't hear it now, but she knew it must still be there. The path was still an option because Neb had mentioned puzzles. Scaring them off the path could explain why the wolf had been there. This didn't mean The Doctor had any desire to run into more. "We weren't," she answered Eliyen. "Other than answers to where we were." But they'd gotten those already. "The Doctor. Time traveler - interdimensional and regular run of the mill." Her lips twitched in a smile. "I just like goin' places. Apparently I'm new here." If they regularly appeared here, that was. Neb seemed to make it sound like they did. "Are we takin' the path or lookin' for the water?" she checked.

Ononoki's eyes widened ever so slightly when Neb asked if she was okay. It was as though she were straining to find some way to get out of answering that question, because she certainly didn't seem to be prepared to answer it. Thankfully, the other blinker was distracted soon enough with Eliyen appearing. She might as well have conjured the newcomer herself, because Eliyen seemed to be drawing the rest of them away from whatever questions they wanted to ask the doll. When the tension between Volt and The Doctor seemed to only be intensifying, and they walked in circles to assess their surroundings rather than actually making any progress, Ononoki decided to be the first to move. Her yellow galoshes lurched into movement as she took her first step forward, rotating herself halfway around and then slowly walking away from the group into the forest--ideally to lead them.

""Rusty" is still an advantage, relatively speaking." Volt shrugged. No matter how well Neb remembered the last time she had been here, it was more knowledge than Volt or The Doctor had. Eliyen was still a mystery, as was Ononoki. Adding on to the round of introductions, she nodded to Eliyen in greeting. "Volt. What is it that you thieve?"
Footsteps caught her attention, and her head turned to watch as the small robotic-like girl suddenly strode off through the leaves. Finally, someone was actually doing something -- even though the Tenno wasn't positive that Ononoki was fully aware of what she was doing. With a glance at the Doctor and Eliyen, Volt followed Neb into the forest. "Is it broken?"
