Sherlock narrowed his eyes. Was he saying magic because that was a normal thing in his world, or because he was a little kid who didn’t know how water guns work? “You’re quick.” He commented as he fired, trying to aim at the spot Myrnin was likely to be next. He was missing more often than he’d ever have admitted to John, but at least he was hitting him approximately 27% of the time, which was terrible, but no one ever had to know. He concentrated on bringing that number up anyway. “I wouldn’t go getting that close if I were-“ And then the detective stumbled, affronted as he was suddenly tackled. He tried to step backwards to catch himself but his leg was stuck and he fell forwards, clutching the blue toy even as he hit the grass and rolled onto his back. he sat up instantly and fired his last stream of water straight at Myrnin’s face, grinning ear to ear. The little boy laughed and spluttered and laughed again, rolling away from Sherlock and onto the grass, still laughing. Then, the front of him all wet, he picked up his water gun and bolted for the container of water. He got there leagues ahead of Sherlock and dropped his gun into the water and just ... watched it like he expected something to happen. He waited for the count of five and then scooped it up again, pointing it at Sherlock, and then pulling the trigger. Nothing happened other than the splutter of water again. Myrnin frowned. "What?" he said. "How do I do this? I put it in the water like you said to." Sherlock chuckled with him, letting himself get caught up in the boy’s excitement and flopping down on his back in the grass with his arms wide, his laughter shaking his body like a bad coughing fit as he stared up at the sky the exact color of his eyes. Myrnin had got up, but for a moment the consulting detective didn’t bother following him. The truth was, he’d missed this. When was the last time he’d been this relaxed? He couldn’t remember now. His blinks had been few and far between, and his world had been less than forgiving lately, although for once he couldn’t complain of boredom. A wry smile twitched his grin, and he let the boyish laughter subside to a light chuckle as he sat up and shook out his black curls, then looked around to see where Myrnin had gone. “Oh, hang on.” He said, jumping to his feet and jogging over to the boy. He opened the cap of his own water gun and dunked it in the water, moving it around to make sure it was properly filled, then pulled it out and closed it up. “See? The water goes inside it, that’s why it feels heavier after you fill it. And look at this.” He held the toy up so Myrnin could see it, trigger and all. “Since the water is inside it, you push this part to control this.” He turned it upside down, now pointing out the mechanism. “Which is what pushes the water out at such a high velocity, causing it to go so far. Then you let go, the water level goes down to fill the space the trigger emptied, and you can do it again. Eventually you run out of water, which is why you’ve got to open it up and put more in.”

»ƑαƖcση(I'd say yes, but both of em juuuuuuuuuuuuust got out. XD Something tells me Volt isn't gonna listen to her.) "Does my head count?" asked The Doctor, sounding slightly put out. "Put those away. It hasn't attacked. Let's just back away. Maybe we just disturbed its den." She slowly started stepping backwards, eyeing the place where the 'wolf' was growling. "Just do run away from em and then they wont chase ya," she muttered. The 'wolf' didn't much look like one as it slowly eased its way out of the undergrowth, lips pealed away from sharp teeth and fur on end. It looked more cat like, but the muzzle was long and the paws broad. It hunched its shoulders, and opened its mouth in a sort of bark.

»ƑαƖcση mintedstar/fur(a returned confused oldie with fresh, confused newbies. good times) Nebula Star blinked in up in a...tree? She wobbled for balance on a branch and braced her hands against the large trunk. After a second of gaining her senses, she pushed her goggles up to see better in the shaded lighting of the forest and quirked an eyebrow. "Huh," she mouthed to herself.
Neb peered to the ground, noting she was quite a ways up, but what caught her attention were the two strangers right below. One of them had swords, the other nothing. She thought about calling down to them, but then a creature stepped out from the foliage and she paused. From her viewpoint it was hard to tell what it was, though her ears flicked up as the growling and bark-like sounds reached her. Straight up dropping down probably wouldn't be the best idea for either party. Thinking, Neb trailed a hand out, hovering it above the creature as energy began to swirl around her fingertips. She was waiting, though. If the thing attacked the two blinkers she'd activate a simple teleport and plop it somewhere a few yards off to give the others enough room to get away.

(Aw darn it and nope, absolutely not join us dawnnnn ) "Do you have a death wish?" Volt replied sarcastically. She held her blades crossed at the ready, but followed the Doctor's example in slowly backing away, edging sideways in an attempt to position herself between the Gallifreyian and the snarling creature. It looked vaguely canine with long fangs and a body built for running, but, the Tenno noted, not climbing. "How much do you weigh?" Volt murmured to The Doctor, trying to not provoke the 'wolf.' "I don't think it can follow us into the trees."
She glanced up into the branches of the nearest candidates, checking to see which would be easiest to scale, before doing a double take. There was another human.... ish? person? perched on one of the lower branches, watching them with an arm stretched out swirling with unnatural light. Volt clutched her blades tighter, and faced the wolf again. "Doctor, look up. There's something controlling this creature."

Arlo fired at the creatures a few more times before climbing up after Kid. She'd been spending quite a bit of time in trees since being trapped on the island so she was actually pretty good at it. She stepped sideways to avoid the creature Kid had kicked off the branch as it fell to the ground, then jumped up and hauled herself onto the branch nearest the door, pretty much diving through it after Kid. She wasn't really sure what she'd expected to find on the other side of the door, but the living room was a bit of a surprise- a very, very welcome one. She looked around, almost expecting the creatures to be there too, but the room appeared the same as always. Believing that they were safe, she turned to Kid again, her concerned gaze sweeping over him. "Are you alright?" she asked. He'd told her that he was immortal and healed automatically before, but it was easy to forget when being chased up a tree by House-created monsters. Kid checked his shoulder, but other than his torn suit, he was fine. "Yeah," he assured. "I'm fine." He looked back up and smiled a relieved smile. "That was ... not the sort of forest trip I was expect -" He didn't really get a chance to finish as he blinked out.

Yellow galoshes met with peat as Ononoki appeared underneath Neb's tree. She found the blinker rather quickly by looking upward, and noticed that there was already a threat they were trying to take care of. When she realized she was standing directly beside Volt and The Doctor, she took a moment to announce herself. "Good afternoon," she greeted, "I said with a posed look." Her eyes were vacant, and both her embellished outfit and her straight, static posture spoke to the fact that she didn't at all seem prepared to be stuck in a hostile forest. On the other hand, the animal they all seemed so cautious around didn't give her any fright, and she hardly turned her head toward it at all. As if pretending Neb weren't distracted, she raised a hand toward her near the tree. "Are you stuck?" It was an offer for the other blinker to use her to get down. In fact, she did this often enough to help Kagenui get around. She didn't bounce or wobble like a human, so she could basically be used as a stone statue to climb down from precipices.

»ƑαƖcση dawn Razzle Dazzle"Not particularly," muttered The Doctor. "And I'm sure it doesn't have one either." She was referring to the wolf-creature. She was watching it and it was watching her. She knew that Volt was underestimating her and trying to protect her when she didn't need protecting, but she was wary about correcting the Tenno. She wasn't sure how much talking might set it off or scare it. She moved her eyes upward for just a second at Volt's words, about to answer that she didn't know what her weight was, but then tensed as she heard Volt's theory. She frowned up at the humanoid and said, "Excuse me! Is that ya doing this or ...?" Volt's observation about climbing was still a good one, but was completely distracted when someone with yellow galoshes just appeared out of nowhere. The wolf-creature didn't like it much either. Instead of focusing on The Doctor and Volt, it instead bunched its haunches and sprang and Ononoki.

»ƑαƖcση Razzle Dazzle mintedstar/fur Neb hadn't realized how she looked to anyone else, perched as she was, powers waiting. Her eyes stayed fixed on the creature, holding out for the right moment to teleport it-- She stiffened when a voice called to her and her concentration broke to look at the girl with the yellow galoshes. Before she could respond the woman was next to address her and Neb blinked in surprise. "What? No!" she called back, "I'm trying to help! Sh--"
The creature had sprung, and Neb's hand had drifted away in the exchange. She didn't have the time to ready the TP again, she realized with a bite to her lip. Kicking off the branch hard, she propelled herself towards the group - namely the 'wolf', and in a last minute, split second decision, she made her choice of action. Dark tendrils of smoke snaked up her body and in a burst of energy Neb's human form was replaced with a hulking, translucent alien with armored plates covering the body. She stretched clawed hands out, barreling down now to tackle the animal midair.

When the wolf creature sprang at her, Ononoki turned toward it and drew her hand down from where it had been extended for Neb. She took her time with her movements, far too much time to make them useful. She might as well have been moving in slow motion as she turned to face her attacker. "Oh no." Her words came out in monotone, her mouth hardly opening as she spoke as if she didn't want to put forth the extra effort to yell or shout. Juxtaposed with the situation at hand, the exclamation almost came off as sarcastic. As if still not registering the situation yet, she stood perfectly still when Neb transformed and collided with the wolf-creature midair, apparently not taking the opportunity to duck or run from either of the threatening creatures that were now in front of her. She didn't so much as blink; the doll was entirely complacent with what was playing out, and she looked on silently from her spot under the tree. Her arms lay on the ruffles of her dress, displaying no interest in intervening. In that case, perhaps it was in vain to save her anyway.

By Volt's calculation, it took approximately three seconds for everything to spin violently out of control. A small child appeared out of thin air, the wolf sprang, and the purple creature in the trees became an enormous armored beast barreling out of the tree to attack. There was no time to run, not if Volt wanted to make sure everyone survived. With a loud cry, the Tenno brought her swords together, electricity crackling across her body and channeling down the blades. Bright blue bolts of lighting lanced out with a thunderous crack, one aimed squarely at the chest of the wolf, the other at the giant shadow plated creature leaping out of the tree.

The feathers on Magpie Maladict shivered and rose. It wasn't really possible for him to sign, but it did seem like he was a bit exasperated. Maybe a bit more than that. From the magpies appearance and how he was jumping around a bit, he was nervous. He hopped to the back of the couch and then over it, out of view. There was a shift of feathers and then ... "Oh ... uh ... oh." And then Maladict stood up and frowned down at his clothing. He hadn't expected that. He'd thought this was the last straw, that he'd blown it. That Kelsier was going to know he was illegally in the army and somehow ... Mal didn't know ... never talk to him again or something. He certainly knew his father wouldn't like it. "Uh ..." he said, adjusting his coat. "I ... that's new." Would Kelsier know just from how Mal was acting that something was off? How much would he know about vampires? "My family can turn into magpies," they said, slightly hesitantly. "I don't like doing so." Their smile was slightly wain. "My army - or country, really - wouldn't much either, even though they might find it useful if they tried. You ... could call me Maladicta if you wanted. I don't mind either way." And they waited, standing a bit awkwardly. "But yeah, I can change back here I guess without any ... problems." (The House proceeds to keep it PG and give Mal his fondest wish in life. AKA: his clothes back.) (//slow claps for the House )) Kelsier raised his eyebrows, watching the scene with something in between concern and amusement. ”You’re sure you aren’t stuck?” He questioned, only half joking as the bird fluttered behind the couch and out of sight. The he broke into a wide smile as Maladict, now at least visually human, stood up and adjusted his clothes as though the were the strange part, not the black and white feathers he’d worn a moment ago. Wait. What was new? Kelsier paused, still smiling as he thought about that. Apparently the whole turning-into-a-magpie thing wasn’t new, so maybe something about how he’d done it was? Well, he could always ask. The mistborn weighed that for a moment as the vampire explained, at least part of it. He seemed hesitant, cautious, like this wasn’t something you just discussed over dinner in his world. “Mal is fine.” He said lightly. He realized he hadn’t heard anyone else call the other blinker that, but who was going to say ‘Maladicta’ Every time they wanted to tell someone something? “Maladicta is kind of a mouthful. So...I’m guessing the whole bird thing is a bit of a secret for you?” Running a hand though their hair, the vampire humphed. They allowed a surprised smile on their face, "Um. Yeah, it is a bit. You should try saying my full name sometime. It's a lot longer." They'd expected an adverse reaction. Borogravia had 'views' about women. If it wasn't for the fact the whole country kind of needed them to continue existing all of them would probably have been kicked out with the dwarves and foreigners. Joining the army or fighting at all was unheard of. Mal was breaking a few more norms and outright laws than just Borogravia's. They were for their own father and family as well. Vampires had 'views' too. "A bit," they admitted. "My family know I can do it, but no one else really does. If I did it in my own world ..." They pressed their lips together and shrugged as if it didn't matter as they said, "Then my superiors would find out I wasn't a man and at best they'd send me home. Then I'd have to go back to my family and they'd have words on the matter. It wasn't like they fact liked the fact I reformed either." Mal elaborated after a second, since after experience it had become clear others didn't always know what reformed vampire meant. "Swore off blood, that is. I can turn into a magpie, have heightened senses, a bit faster and more agile than a human, and I can't die. That's ... about it."

Dukku blinked into the powers room. He recognized the scenery, except now there was a giant rock-like object (which seemed to be even bigger than the 'wildclaw' blinker!) in the center and the land - whatever it was - happened to be on water. It wasn't sturdy, like how his home island was - it was rocking. Only a few seconds had passed in his world between this blink and the last, so the panic barely had any chance to wear off. Right now, the rocking and moving and swaying was causing him to worry more. Would he slip and fall into the water? He couldn't breathe underwater, let alone swim at all.

The water rushed in to fill the empty space and the boy managed to lift the water gun without any problems. He grinned, then looked up at Sherlock. "Is there more things you can do with this. Anything we can do together instead of fighting against?" He looked really hopeful, wanting to play with his new friend and see what fun things he could think up. "Is - is that alright?" he asked, suddenly concerned that Sherlock might just want to play the one game. "I - I can continue playing this."

dawn »ƑαƖcση Razzle Dazzle "No!" gasped The Doctor as absolutely everything went down hill. She hadn't been aware that Volt was such a perfectly accurate name. But she'd been able to pick up that they were all on the same side a lot faster than the Tenno. On the bright side, the wolf creature seemed dtunnst as well. The Doctor pushed past Volt and whoever the girl in yellow galoshes was. She gripped Neb's hand, pulling her to her feet (even if that meant supporting her) while the wolf tried to bite her but was still too stunned to aim well. "Trees," she insisted, looking at Volt for help since it seemed like the best bet. "Think there's been some mistaken identity. Swords won't be needed."

Mostly, his mental profile of the vampire just did a quick update, and he was good to go. That, and the fact that he couldn’t help thinking of Mare now. He guessed she would have done something similar if the Lord Ruler has cared about gender, and since he really didn’t she had been able to try and help kill him without any pesky disguises. Thinking about her made him smile. Bittersweet was a good word for it. Or maybe a little bit wistful. He pulled his attention back to the other blinker and nodded. “Swearing off blood was probably a good call if you want people to hang out with you.” He couldn’t help teasing a bit, but the more serious look didn’t quite leave his hazel eyes just yet. “I wish I could turn into a bird...I'd go for something a little bit more intimidating than a magpie though. Not that the feathers aren’t very pretty, but have you ever seen an eagle?” There was a bird he’d like to be, powerful wings beating the air as he flew high, high enough that the ash couldn’t choke him. He let himself imagine that for a long moment. “Anyway, I’m a mistborn. I can draw different powers from certain metals I ingest, like the vials I drank in the room earlier.” It felt like the polite thing to do, after Mal had explained everything they could do, to share his cards as well. “Typically I'll use those, which are alcohol solutions with a blend of metal filings, but I can use anything I can swallow as long as it’s the right type. I’d show you one, but I used the last one trying not to get eaten by invisible wolves, so....”

Ononoki stood as an empty vessel. A protected vessel now that the others had sprung into action, but seemingly empty nonetheless. She seemed neutral as Volt stabbed her protector, simply turning her gaze from one to the other. She was assessing whether The Doctor meant they should use the trees as a hiding place. To her, she viewed that as unnecessary. But it was still something she could help with. “Do you want to go up there?” she asked The Doctor. She was facing them and offering her arms, as if saying she could take Neb. It was more like a shelf than a pair of arms though, and she appeared to have efficiency in mind rather than care. “...I said with a posed look.”

For a split second, Volt's head angled towards The Doctor, but there was no true indication she had actually heard the woman's instructions. The only thing that registered was the fact that the purple-haired girl was no longer a threat. Lighting sparked at Volt's feet and suddenly the Tenno was standing over the body of the wolf, swords buried directly through the spine --an instant death. Only then did The Doctor's words suddenly make sense, she had wanted to escape into the trees. The electricity faded into nothingness as Volt pulled her swords free and clipped them back into place behind her. The small lights on her armor were dim, even the "eyes" on her helmet. Still, she had an air of childlike defiance, as if silently daring someone to say something.

A bipedal, white tiger wearing a pink camo jacket appeared in the forest. It was an unusual sight indeed, but the tiger seemed more confused herself than anyone else here as yellow eyes blinked slowly; she was a newcomer to the house, after all. She didn't get much time at all to wonder what was happening though, as her eyes landed on a familiar face- the face of Nebula Star, down on the ground and clearly winded. Instinct kicked in, and Umbra Lily was tearing across the ground at speeds no human would be able to reach in moments. Speed may not of been a super power for her, but she certainly did have an advantage over humans with it just from being born an animal.
Even with her additional speed, before she could actually reach her, she had been pulled up; Lily stumbled to a slow stop, a hint of a growl coming from her throat anyways. She was so confused, and the tension in the air had made her own protective aggression flare up, watching the stranger holding Neb with a careful eye. If he dared to hurt her any further at all...

"Is - is that alright?" he asked, suddenly concerned that Sherlock might just want to play the one game. "I - I can continue playing this." Sherlock watched intently as Myrnin tried to copy his movements, sharp eyes taking in ever time he did something right, as well as something wrong. Several times he opened his mouth to correct the boy, almost reaching out a hand to do it himself, but he managed to stop himself before taking the toy from the little kid. It was hard to watch someone struggling to do something that was so simple for him without just doing it himself, but he could tell Myrnin wanted to learn, not just get it done. He could tell because that’s how he was, too. And seeing those bright green eyes light up was more than enough of a reward for him as the boy figured it out at last and dunked the toy, refilling it. He grinned back, a lopsided sort of expression as though he wasn’t used to doing it by accident. “‘Course we can.” He declared, spinning the water gun around his finger and spraying droplets of water from the outside in all directions. “There’s plenty we can do, it’d get pretty boring not to explore our options. What do you think we should do?”

The Doctor tensed as a white tiger blinked in and she looked over at her. But the person she was bracing up seemed to recognize her so she relaxed. Everything happened so fast she wasn't even sure what order they had occurred in. But when she looked back at Volt and the now dead wolf her shoulders stiffened. She looked at Neb, trying to see if she was alright, and then looked back at the tiger - Lily apparently. "Peace," she muttered. But there was an undercurrent in her voice that said she was holding in her anger. "I'm not goin' to hurt anyone." But as she said this she rounded on Volt and ground out, "What were ya thinking! Ya didn't need to kill it! It was already stunned! All we had to do was go away and it wouldn't a' done anything." Her eyes blazed just a little and her expression, cheerful before, now held a frown.

Now that things seemed to have calmed down at least slightly, Lily let her muscles slacken just a tad, tail brushing over the ground as her ears twitched in irritation and confusion. It was clear that she still wasn't completely convinced the others around her weren't a threat, if her bristling fur was anything to go off of, but Neb seemed to be safe. If her teammate could trust these people, she was willing to at the very least listen to whatever they had to say. "Neb, where are we?" The question was more... growly than she had intended it to be, flexing her paws due to the agitation and tension she could still feel in the air. Apparently, someone had just killed something without needing to; a piece of information that Lily, being a tiger, was not pleased about in the slightest. Everything had happened and shifted from where she had been hunting down criminals in the city to... wherever here was so fast, that it all felt like a whirlwind...

Ononoki retracted her hands from The Doctor when she noticed she wasn't acknowledged; this person was clearly preoccupied with their emotions. When that thought struck her, she paused for a moment, realizing it had seemed odd because of what she had told Rowlin in her last blink. She looked down at Neb. It seemed like they might not want to escape to the trees now anyway, and to her it was impractical to have everyone up there. As if she were a socially awkward teen at a party, she turned her head this way and that very slowly to find the best direction to proceed. She had given hesitation the first time supernatural beings appeared here, like the dragon during her first blink, but now it was commonplace. The white tiger that had just appeared could have been a threat, and she wouldn't have given it more acknowledgement than she did in this moment. Her galoshes didn't move yet, though. She waited on the other blinkers like a butler. Strangely, but not with a menacing presence.
