The mud puddles brought a genuine smile to Rex's face. Close enough. "Yeah," he said. "Flying's a lot faster than swimming." Which was why he infinitely preferred jet packs to diving gear. His motions weren't slowed by drag from the water. He listened to her describe the rain quietly, leaning on the boat railing as water misted up toward them. He relaxed in the serenity of the picture she painted. It was something he wished he could see more often. "Those are good rains," he agreed.
Her tone after the silence brought his gaze back to her. She was looking at the water and suddenly seemed very, very small. He knew that tone. Melancholy crept through him. Reaching out slowly, he brushed a hand over her shoulder, trying to find a bright side. "You have the House," he finally said. "It's not perfect, but has brought us to a lot of places." He hoped that was the right thing to say. Sympathy or apologies felt too definite, like he was confirming that she'd never get to see anything. While some people might prefer that, he didn't think she would.
His thoughts were cut short by a deafening CRACK behind them. Whipping around, Rex found someone lying crumpled on the ground in a dent. Cursing under his breath, Rex immediately rushed toward the person who he saw to be twitching. Alive, for better or worse. "Hey," he said, dropping to his knees, already rummaging through his utility belt for equipment. "Hey, buddy can you hear me?"

There had been no way that Kid had expected something to leap out of the mist. If he had, he would have done something. What, he didn't know, but he wasn't really thinking about that right now. The mist monster wasn't letting up and was currently trying to kill Arlo. He wouldn't have called himself a fighter, but he did bowl into the odd creature, pushing it off Arlo. This didn't do much in the long run other than give it a chance to claw at his arm and shred his white suit, but it was focused on him now. Kid winced and scrambled away, feet moving until he was out of the creature's range. There was the other one, however. "Arlo?" he asked as it bounded toward them and leaped. Kid dodged just in time, rolling away. The other one had joined its friend. "Wouldn't happen to be able to use that magic of yours as a weapon yet, would you?" he questioned. His arm stung, but already it was healing over.

Lovelace eventually did manage to stagger to her feet, holding onto the nearest control panel for balance. Control panel... So this was a different room, but it was adjacent to the old one, which she could see out the window. Outside, she could see...a little girl, and that ‘captain rex’ bastard from earlier, so... She jumped and let out a little gasp, startled, as a new blinker plowed face-first into the floor of the basketball court. “Damn!” she exclaimed without really meaning to, and then, curiosity getting the better of her, she began to stagger out of the room, heading for the three others. “Hey! Are you okay - “ She paused, caught off guard once again by the wide open sky and ocean view that now replaced the old school the room had been located in before. “When the hell did we go outside??” And why was there a basketball court on a boat in the first place?

»ƑαƖcση "Probably not," agreed The Doctor. "Earth would have noticed, I think. And I don't know of any time in its history where it gets like this." This wasn't saying she hadn't missed it. But from her experience, probably not. She looked at where Volt was pointing her hand and then frowned a bit more as the trunk of the tree gained a deep burn mark. "Might be good at a cook-out," she admitted. "If we run across a very large hamburger." She glanced around again, waiting for the animal and bug noises to come back after that loud noise. Slowly, they did. "Humans? Ye, if they have their iphones or something. Naturally, not so much. I'm not a human though, in case ya were wondering. But not tracking things either. Just using this." She tapped the side of her head. "And it's saying it can hear running water over there. What about you?" She pointed over to a place a bit off the animal trail. "Suggestions? Follow this or head that-o way?" Cook-out? Hamburger? iPhone? For a moment, Volt was very clearly lost. While her helmet didn't exactly convey expression, there was an implied blank stare. Only one part of what The Doctor had said made any sense, and it set the Tenno on edge. "So you're Corpus then?" Her voice was guarded now. The Corpus were only other species that could sometimes pass as human and were not to be trusted. "I will follow the trail. You can investigate the water source." Any friendliness that might have once been conveyed was entirely gone.
(Volt is absolutely going to use hamburger out of context now. She assumes it's something dangerous xD)

Rue didn’t expect him to react to her tone. She didn’t even expect him to notice it. Which is why her muscles tensed and she flinched back when she felt his brush her shoulder, her head moving quickly as she looked at him. Then she felt herself relax. She didn’t have the energy to fight back right now. A tear slipped from one eye, then the other, and she found that she was too tired to fight them back right now. She’d be strong when she blinked back and had to face her family, her little sisters and brothers, her parents...but to do that she needed to break a little bit now. “That’s true.” She said quietly. She looked at the sky again, wonder at how big it was filling her again, and she smiled a little through her tears. “I never thought I'd see something like this. I’m lucky, really. Some people only get to see one world.”
She twitched and spun around at the loud crack and tried to back away, but her back pressed into the edge of the ship behind her. Then she saw what had made the noise, at the same time Rex sprinted towards the shape on the ground, and she darted after him and dropped to a crouch on the other side of the unfortunate blinker. “Alive.” She echoed the soldiers thoughts, touching his neck briefly. So much for the House being nice....it was almost as though it was trying to prove them wrong,

The question about ramen shocked Raizel, his expression widening as though the question were a life in peril. He blinked a few times, "The next time we meet, I shall bring you some." He spoke with newfound determination. "It is food that settles in water, then grows. After it grows, we eat it." He explained with passion in his voice. "You can add many things to it, like chicken, vegetables, and other things." He further added. "But Ramen by itself is just as good." He recalled a time he rushed out with raw ramen. He silently shook his head after a pause, "No, I have not told my friends about this place. But, if one of my friends did meet you, they would be most curious about Borogravia." He went back to clarify his earlier remark. "Perhaps a second friend would to?" He crossed his arms to think it through. "To learn about new places, that's the curiosity my friends carry." "How does it grow?" questioned Maladict, curious. "Is it alive?" He wasn't certain, but he also wasn't disturbed by the thought. After all, on the Disc there were some interesting food. "I guess I will have to wait for you to bring some then." He was unsure from Rai's brief description what it looked like, but that was okay. Maladict hadn't told any of his friends either. Not like they were really friends yet. Oliver was, perhaps. But she was probably going to impale him when they got out of what was happening when she got the chance. She'd wanted to keep the fact she'd joined the army - a woman in an army that only took men - under wraps. Not like Mal was going to tell anyone or even consider it. What did he care? But either way, he had no one to tell. The others weren't exactly appropriate. "Borogravia isn't exactly interesting," he said. "It's just a small country. Gets a lot of rain. Always at war with one of its neighbors." Which explained the uniform Maladict was wearing.

The bird darted back through the trees as best he could as soon as he knew were Kelsier was. Black and white body working against the wind he could still feel, the bird alighted on Kelsier's shoulder after a while. Mal's feathers were ruffled and he was flustered, but he still made a pretty clear indication on which way the wind was blowing. Could Kelsier not feel it? There was a light cry from the vampire again and then he started hopping in the direction. It seemed like the wind picked up a bit the further in that direction he went. He wasn't sure, but it seemed like the biggest hint since the wolves in the unusual clearing. He hoped Kelsier would willingly go. (Heh heh. The exit's a wind tunnel?) (Perfect )) Kelsier turned his head as the bird landed on his shoulder, and he relaxed, relieved to see that whatever had happened hadn’t harmed him. “There you are. What was all that about?” The vampire moved again, and he tilted his head, frowning slightly. “You know, it’d be a lot easier to understand you if you weren’t a bird.” He pointed out good-naturedly, but he began to follow Maladict anyway, figuring he had a reason to have picked that way. Or he was just guessing, which was fine too. (Short post is short oops) (You're fine.) The flight was shorter than Maladict expected. Mostly because the House decided not to give them a choice at all. The windstorm seemed to be centered in the one part of the forest, ripping at the leaves of the trees and pulling at the limbs. Maladict noticed the hole in the center of it all, but the wind was far faster than a human could resist, never mind a small flying creature. He just hoped this really was an exit. The world flipped around, colors blending as he moved faster and faster. The best he could do was tuck his wings and head close to his body and ... Everything calmed and he opened his eyes, stumbling to his feet again. Still a bird, but this time on the couch cushions of the living room. He blinked, then looked around for Kelsier.

"Huh?" said Myrnin, suddenly switching directions and running backward as he looked down at the water gun. "It runs out?" He frowned. "Awww. Why does it do that? Someone should fix it so it doesn't." But while this newfound weakness was a drawback it nowhere near convinced Myrnin to stop playing. Once again he moved in on Sherlock, joyfully spraying water at him. After close to three more decent sized bursts the water in the gun spluttered out of it and then nothing. Myrnin yelped and started running away from Sherlock, aware that there would be retribution. "How do I refilllllll it?" he asked, question trailing behind him. (Pfft. I'm sure if Sherlock asked this Myrnin questions he'd get a lot more answers.) “Where did you think the water came from?” Sherlock snorted, twirling out of the way as another jet of water came at him. “It’s inside the thing, and since the thing isn’t very big and is light enough for you to carry it can’t have all that much, now can it?” Another one his his shoulder and he ducked, narrowly avoiding the third. Then he grinned as he saw Myrnin running away, a deep laugh escaping him as he charged after the little boy, aiming his own toy at his fleeing figure and firing several streams of water in quick succession. “With the big bucket of water I got these from, remember? You thought they were plants. Anyway, good luck getting past me to get there, I’ve still got plenty.” (Shh. He doesn’t need to know that. ) "I don't know!" protested Myrnin. "Perhaps they produce it!" He wasn't familiar with mechanics, so of course that was the sort of thing he thought. "Or magic!" And Sherlock didn't really know if magic was a thing in Myrnin's world. Vampires existed, sure, but that wasn't to say anything else did. He was still running as he talked. Sherlock was hitting him, but the boy was fast and most of it missed. The rest caught his legs or lower back. But still changing directions, and tactics, on a dime, the little boy pulled to a sharp stop, turned, and then tackled Sherlock's legs. Both hands wrapped around one leg and then he didn't let go.

Elliot twitched , despite hitting the floor Elliot still felt himself falling. Clearly her lag by he twitched nonetheless , something wasn't settling ... He s lowly he turned his head up too assure the three that he was fine. "I-I am, o-"his head had tilted further up, quickly his eyes widdened , "-look out!" He cried out , quickly turning on his fear aura as an attempt to scare them away from him . THe fear aura never went off , instead two massive wings created by blood manifested and blew rue, lovelace, and rex further away. He himself rolled out of the way. Incoming without warning a giant sharp canine tooth pierced the dented floor , creating a piercing crack in its place. Elliot still on the floor watched in awe to the spot he was in only seconds ago. The massive tooth was a little over 20 feet tall. Not finding the energy to speak up , he simply rested his head back on the floor.

He could talk at least, that was good, Rex thought, eyeing the blood beginning to seep out from under Elliot. Barely processing his words, he first noted the look on Elliot's face and looked up sharply. His eyes widened as he found a massive, jagged looking object plummeting toward down toward them. Exploding into motion, he lunged for Rue and reached for Elliot, intent on dragging them both out of the way. He succeeded in grabbing Rue, but just as his hand brushed Elliot's shirt, something massive and an all too familiar shade of red exploded out of the other man, flinging Rex and Rue away.
Pulling Rue close to his chest, he threw an arm out, clumsily breaking their fall to a tumble. A massive CRACK exploded across the ship as Rex skidded to a stop, balancing on his knees and one hand as he carefully lowered Rue to the ground. His gaze snapped over to Elliot, who was thankfully not impaled, then up to the sky to check for more... things. Finding none, he asked Rue quickly, "Are you okay?" He assumed she was, if a bit startled, but better to make sure before he ran back to check on Elliot.

Gripping her injured shoulder, Arlo scrambled to her feet once Kid pushed the creature off of her. For a moment she was frozen, her mind half in another foggy forest, a forest where everything she'd known had been taken from her and she'd been unable to do anything to stop it, but she heard her name and snapped back to reality. In truth, she wasn't sure what she could do with her magic but she was certainly going to try, she wasn't going to run or hide this time. Never again. The ball of energy she'd thrown by accident had burst when it hit the ground, so that seemed like a good place to start. The girl formed another, but this time she threw it intentionally, aiming for the side of the creature closest to Kid. The small explosion from her attack had enough force to knock it back a few feet onto its side. "The door has to be around here somewhere!" she shouted as she aimed for the next one.

Lovelace stumbled backwards again, caught off guard by the second CRASH of...something...slamming into the deck with devastating force. She almost fell again, but this time, long, white-speckled whips shot from just behind her wrists, flinging themselves in every direction and wrapping around the tooth with a sharp hissss of dissolving bone as she struggled to right herself. “Oh, how fun...I’d really missed this...” she panted sarcastically, shaking her wrists to free herself of the acidic coils that seemed to burn everything they touched. Droplets of searing acid splashed onto the deck of the court, making a little, sizzling hole that thankfully seemed to stop before it made its way through to the ocean below. Well, that could be bad. “Hey, you,” she called, swaying precariously as she tried to make her way across the heaving floor towards Elliot. How did people walk on boats? “You alright? You need any help?”

Rue searched Elliot’s face, trying to tell how badly he was injured. Her eyes widened as the found the blood, but she couldn’t tell where it was coming from or how bad it was yet, and it looked like Rex had supplies, so she didn’t think she’d need to take charge here. Then she froze and looked up, her eyes finding the enormous tooth falling straight towards her just as she felt someone grab her and pull, knocking her off balance and out of the way. Hard-learned experience made her stifle her cry of shock by biting down on her tongue as hard as she could.
She almost really did scream as they were both thrown suddenly away by something very red, something that looked eerily like solid blood. It was Rex that had grabbed her, and despite her every instinct screaming at her to fight back, bite him if she had to to make him let go, she forced herself to go limp and take the fall as best she could. They hit the ground, Rex taking by far the worst of the impact. As soon as she touched the ground she pulled away craned her neck to look back at Elliot, terrified he’d been crushed. He hadn’t. She breathed out, relieved to see him simply staring up at the huge bone with a sort of vague confusion. She looked at Rex and nodded, pulling herself to her feet and offering him a hand up. “Yeah...thanks.”

mintedstar/fur "Pretty?" Noah repeated, somewhat confused. It was a description that made him smile in spite of himself, relieved by the innocence of small children. He rubbed at the smudge on his cheek, but more thoughtfully and less out of subconscious fear. "My name is..." he hesitated, half of him wishing to give his last name and the other half fighting to give the name that hadn't been stolen from him. The name that hadn't been touched by Whelk. "My name is Noah. Nice to meet you, Amico." He doubted that was actually the little boy's real name, but he wouldn't question it. He knew enough latin to know that amica meant friend, and amico was likely the derivation in one romance language or another - despite what his classmates thought he had actually been quite an astute student. He was about to say something else when he felt the boy grab him around the leg, and he couldn't help but smile again. He took a step forward, surprised how little effort it took to carry Myrnin with him. "Comfy down there?" he asked, his voice friendly but hiding a little bit of laughter. "Yes," insisted Myrnin. His nose was buried into the bridge of Noah's leg and he giggled under his breath as Noah picked him up. Myrnin couldn't do this back home, being the eldest. If he'd even been thinking he might have wondered why he'd latched onto Noah's leg without even hesitating to wonder whether the boy would just kick him away or not. Maybe it was a bit more trust in the people of the Paradox House or maybe it was just his current mood. "Higher!" he insisted, still giggling. His mouth was stretched wide and showed almost all of his teeth. "Higher Noah!" Apparently a quick study in names too. Each footstep was a bit jerky, but Myrnin seemed to be having a lot of fun. After a couple more, he had to roll away back onto the carpet, still laughing though it had quieted a little. "Fun!" he added. "That was fun. What next?" strider

He twisted and tried to grab something to slow down, but he couldn’t fine anything that wasn’t moving already, and then he was inside. Everything shifted, right down to the smell. He tried to lash out and fight whatever was there, but he couldn’t find anything, and then he hit something soft and fell forward on the green carpet, rolling to break his fall. The mistborn straightened up, panting slightly, then smiled as he found the vampire bird. “I guess that was the way out after all.” He said, sitting back as a light laugh escaped him. “So are you just going to be a magpie now or...?”

It seemed like the worst had come to pass. He didn't pay too much attention initially to how everyone got out of the impact range. He turned his head to look at the floor before him , there was some blood, most likely his from the initial impact. what a shame... I'm still alive he twitched, rolling over so he could face the ground. Using his forearms , he lifted himself off the ground into a semi plank, "I am-fine... " he softly spoke. It impact was painful, especially given how this place decided to reposition him from his initial fall. He could see the blood pool right in front of him now that he was facing the ground. He closes his eyes displeased with the pool of blood. "I appreciate everyone's concern." He politely added , despite his physical shaking from the impact. He slowly rose to one knee, his eyes glimpsing at the blood pool. "I truly hope that is mine and not in any way yours." He sighed. His attention turned to the giant tooth , only a few feet away. He let out a hefty shrug , then shook his head. He attempted to stand up, but struggled a bit due to his aching pain. He could still feel the gravity forcing him back down to the ground. At the same time , some of the blood had started to disappear.

Was he saying magic because that was a normal thing in his world, or because he was a little kid who didn’t know how water guns work? “You’re quick.” He commented as he fired, trying to aim at the spot Myrnin was likely to be next. He was missing more often than he’d ever have admitted to John, but at least he was hitting him approximately 27% of the time, which was terrible, but no one ever had to know. He concentrated on bringing that number up anyway. “I wouldn’t go getting that close if I were-“ And then the detective stumbled, affronted as he was suddenly tackled. He tried to step backwards to catch himself but his leg was stuck and he fell forwards, clutching the blue toy even as he hit the grass and rolled onto his back. he sat up instantly and fired his last stream of water straight at Myrnin’s face, grinning ear to ear.

"Perhaps to you, but perhaps if someone has never experienced something you find common, then that to them is different and unique." Raizel tried to sound hopeful . "Like myself , there is much to learn about new places I am unfamiliar with." He softly compared. Then the soldier mentioned war, Raizel frowned feeling a bit bad for trending into the topic. "I'm sorry..." He softly commented. " i hope things turn out for the better. " his expression softened. "I personally am against violence of the sorts but, I understand too well that it cannot be avoided."

Somewhere, maybe. But where? "Can these things climb, do you think?" Kid called. But he didn't wait to learn the answer. He spun away from the creature Arlo had stunned and ran at her. She was a child at this point, so she weighed less, but still he hadn't expected to be able to lift her with only a little difficult and jump. His hand grabbed a branch above his head and already he could feel the strain on every muscle and joint. But he pulled him and Arlo up until he was draped over the branch and the creatures were below. And then they started to make their way toward the trunk of the tree, claws digging into the bark. Kid said a word he probably shouldn't have said in the presence of a child. "Uh ... any ideas?" He'd thought maybe they could travel using the trees, but clearly that wasn't going to work.

xDDD )
"Oh," Volt replied, still cautious, but she wanted to believe this woman for some reason. Wouldn't a Corpus have just let her assume they were human anyways? "No, they aren't. They... trap Tenno and dismantle our bodies to experiment on or sell for profit." She shrugged, unable to really add anything else to that statement.
After a moment, she also seemed to realize the initial question had not been answered. "I'd rather stay on the path, water and electricity don't exactly mix." The little nodes of light embedded into Volt's armor flickered, betraying some sort of emotion that the Tenno didn't vocalize. "You can check it out if you want, I can wait here or go on ahead."
(idk if you had anything planned for the water, 13 can still convince volt to follow her. She just hates water so there had to be an initial refusal lol )

(You're fine.) The flight was shorter than Maladict expected. Well, the wind wasn’t something you could ignore anymore. As soon as he moved towards it, Kelsier was pulled off his feet and found himself sliding towards the hole faster than he could fight it, the leaves and dirt under him moving too, as though the whole forest was being pulled forward. “So are you just going to be a magpie now or...?” The feathers on Magpie Maladict shivered and rose. It wasn't really possible for him to sign, but it did seem like he was a bit exasperated. Maybe a bit more than that. From the magpies appearance and how he was jumping around a bit, he was nervous. He hopped to the back of the couch and then over it, out of view. There was a shift of feathers and then ... "Oh ... uh ... oh." And then Maladict stood up and frowned down at his clothing. He hadn't expected that. He'd thought this was the last straw, that he'd blown it. That Kelsier was going to know he was illegally in the army and somehow ... Mal didn't know ... never talk to him again or something. He certainly knew his father wouldn't like it. "Uh ..." he said, adjusting his coat. "I ... that's new." Would Kelsier know just from how Mal was acting that something was off? How much would he know about vampires? "My family can turn into magpies," they said, slightly hesitantly. "I don't like doing so." Their smile was slightly wain. "My army - or country, really - wouldn't much either, even though they might find it useful if they tried. You ... could call me Maladicta if you wanted. I don't mind either way." And they waited, standing a bit awkwardly. "But yeah, I can change back here I guess without any ... problems." (The House proceeds to keep it PG and give Mal his fondest wish in life. AKA: his clothes back.)

"I don't know!" protested Myrnin. Sherlock narrowed his eyes. The little boy laughed and spluttered and laughed again, rolling away from Sherlock and onto the grass, still laughing. Then, the front of him all wet, he picked up his water gun and bolted for the container of water. He got there leagues ahead of Sherlock and dropped his gun into the water and just ... watched it like he expected something to happen. He waited for the count of five and then scooped it up again, pointing it at Sherlock, and then pulling the trigger. Nothing happened other than the splutter of water again. Myrnin frowned. "What?" he said. "How do I do this? I put it in the water like you said to."

If Arlo had been able to look at the creatures in better lightning and without fear of being eaten, she might have mentioned that the shape of their claws probably meant that they could climb, but she hadn't, and she didn't have the time anyway. She sent a final burst of energy at one of the creatures as Kid pulled them up into the tree. Unfortunately it looked like the tree was only a temporary solution. It did make it a little easier for her to blast the creatures away, but that just meant that they started climbing from the other side of the trunk.
"Flying powers would be really useful right now..." she looked around for anything that might help them out of their current situation. A door, a place that would be easier to defend... "Hey, what's that? Some kind of tree house?" She asked, pointing up into the branches of the giant tree. It was a little hard to see in the fog, but she was pretty sure there was something there, and at this point it was about all they could hope for.

"I personally am against violence of the sorts but, I understand too well that it cannot be avoided." There was just a slight tilt to Maladict's head and he shrugged. "No reason to be sorry. It's the state of the country, not something you can fix." But Raizel's words had been offered out of kindness, so the soldier dipped his head. "I'm not sure what will happen. They say we're winning." That's what 'they' said though. So he wasn't exactly sure. Were they winning? It didn't feel like it when all the men were at war or dead. "Not really," admitted Maladict. "Someone wants to be our king because we have nice farm land or something." The vampire really didn't know. He shrugged and looked away, only to look back again. "Anything you want to do since we're stuck here together?"

(Someone blinks in with a hamburger and Volt just shoots it.) "No," corrected The Doctor. "Time Lady. Not quite sure what a Corpus is. Haven't met one yet." She turned, walking backwards. "Not that nice, by the sound of it?" She stopped walking when she fully comprehended Volt's opinion on these Corpus and said to her, "Well ... I don't think splitting up is such a good plan right now. But I'm not a Corpus. I don't know what they are so I can't prove it to ya, but I promise ya I'm Gallifreyian." She tapped her foot against the ground, puzzled and slightly concerned that Volt had grown hostile so quickly. She knew she'd probably be able to figure something out on her own, but where would that leave Volt?
(I had no plans what so ever. I'm just gooooooing with the floooooooooow.) The Doctor's nose wrinkled. "Nah. I don't think I want to do that. Ya body is yours, so ya keep it." She clearly already disapproved of these Corpus. Doing that to anyone ... she hated the idea. But given Volt's opinion, The Doctor nodded. "Of course. I did say it was your choice. The path it is." She turned back to the path and picked her way along it. She could still hear the water in the distance, but it soon faded. She wasn't looking anywhere in particular, eyes drifting around to take it all in, but they fell on the ground and she pointed down. "Paw prints. Curious. They look a bit like wolf, but they have too many toes." She leaned down to study them. "Wonder if they're still around." There was a growl. Not close, but still a growl. "Ah," said The Doctor, straightening. "Almost-wolf things ... Suggestions?" (This had inadvertently turned into a forest of fantasy wolf hybrids on all fronts. Might as well keep the trend.)

"I have a hang-glider," Kid said. "But the tree branches are too thick." But then he glanced in the direction that Arlo was pointing and grinned. The House's idea of scaring them perhaps with the creatures. Or maybe the tree-house was a trap. Either way, it was worth a shot. "Better to try than not at all," said the thief. He jumped to the next nearest tree branch that Arlo had indicated and pulled himself up. It was a bit of a struggle, but he managed it. Then he looked back at Arlo. "Come on," he encouraged. It wasn't that far away. He could reach the door from here. His hand reached out, brushing the door knob, and looked over in time to duck away from one of the creatures. It had climbed high enough that it had avoided Arlo's blast. It over balanced a bit on the tree branch and Kid used the advantage to kick it off. It landed on the ground, on it's paws, much like a cat and then growled up at him. Kid took this as his cue to hurry and pulled the door open. (Hum. Living room I think?)

(Sounds good! mintedstar/furAt some point should they meet up with the other group?) Volt nodded and followed The Doctor, keeping watch in case anything came up behind them. The forest itself wasn't scary, but the lack of any activity and the feeling something was amiss kept the Tenno on edge. When her companion stopped, Volt stepped to the side to see what she was pointing at. "Wolf?" She echoed in the form of a question. Yet another word she was unfamiliar with, but the growl was enough to explain whatever the creature was, it was hostile. She reached for her swords, holding them at the ready. "If it's alive, it can be killed. Do you have a weapon?"

Arlo fired at the creatures a few more times before climbing up after Kid. She'd been spending quite a bit of time in trees since being trapped on the island so she was actually pretty good at it. She stepped sideways to avoid the creature Kid had kicked off the branch as it fell to the ground, then jumped up and hauled herself onto the branch nearest the door, pretty much diving through it after Kid. She wasn't really sure what she'd expected to find on the other side of the door, but the living room was a bit of a surprise- a very, very welcome one. She looked around, almost expecting the creatures to be there too, but the room appeared the same as always. Believing that they were safe, she turned to Kid again, her concerned gaze sweeping over him. "Are you alright?" she asked. He'd told her that he was immortal and healed automatically before, but it was easy to forget when being chased up a tree by House-created monsters.

Well, the wind wasn’t something you could ignore anymore. As soon as he moved towards it, Kelsier was pulled off his feet and found himself sliding towards the hole faster than he could fight it, the leaves and dirt under him moving too, as though the whole forest was being pulled forward. (The House proceeds to keep it PG and give Mal his fondest wish in life. AKA: his clothes back.) (//slow claps for the House )) Kelsier raised his eyebrows, watching the scene with something in between concern and amusement. ”You’re sure you aren’t stuck?” He questioned, only half joking as the bird fluttered behind the couch and out of sight. The he broke into a wide smile as Maladict, now at least visually human, stood up and adjusted his clothes as though the were the strange part, not the black and white feathers he’d worn a moment ago. Wait. What was new? Kelsier paused, still smiling as he thought about that. Apparently the whole turning-into-a-magpie thing wasn’t new, so maybe something about how he’d done it was? Well, he could always ask. The mistborn weighed that for a moment as the vampire explained, at least part of it. He seemed hesitant, cautious, like this wasn’t something you just discussed over dinner in his world. “Mal is fine.” He said lightly. He realized he hadn’t heard anyone else call the other blinker that, but who was going to say ‘Maladicta’ Every time they wanted to tell someone something? “Maladicta is kind of a mouthful. So...I’m guessing the whole bird thing is a bit of a secret for you?”
