This woman had the same confident attitude of the woman that had first woken Volt from the cryopod, she realized. Suspicion began to creep in. Just how much did this 'Doctor' know? Maybe this was Volt's chance to get some answers. Falling back more into her role as the [mostly] silent warrior, the Tenno slid her swords into place on her back with a nod before following after The Doctor. Directions she could follow, and they required significantly less headache than trying to puzzle out her own problems. Besides, the real question here was where they had been brought to and how to get back to their respective ships. "Will your ship come looking for you?" Volt asked after a long moment of quiet. That would solve a lot of problems if it was able to reach them. She pushed aside some of the undergrowth in order to step through.

»ƑαƖcσηYet another question that The Doctor seriously considered. "Possibly. Unless she thinks I'm having fun by my lonesome." Her lips twitched in an smile - it was mostly a joke. Most likely, the TARDIS would come looking for her because The Doctor seemed to fall into situations like this a lot. This place felt ... different than those other times. "What about ya ship?" she asked instead, pausing to lift the fronds of a nearby fern. They tried to wrap around her hand and she curiously kept her hand where it was just to see what would hand. "Curious," she said. "Considerin' the size of the trees I knew I we weren't on Earth - I was just there ya see. So I had to guess." She stood straight again, waving upward at the trees that weren't giant but they were larger than normal. "But I don't recognize the sky line or these plants, so I'm not sure where we are."

Raizel silently nodded, Maladict had basically assured him that what he provided was enough for the time being. The planet comment did remind him of science class where they talked about the different planets and some other galaxies. Despite this thought, he let the statement push through with a nod. "Apologies, the reality that this place brings individuals together from other realities seems to slip my mind at times." He politely replied. "Boro-gra-via?" Raizel took a moment to break the word apart in pronunciation. "A friend of mine might have been more interested in further asking about that place." He softly shared. "But for Korea, well it depends. There are places to visit like parks, and shrines." He started to ponder. "I go to the store with my friends to buy Ramen. During the week we go to school, and sometimes hang out after school." He trailed off a bit, "It is like any other part of the world. Doing things we need to do, and visiting places." "What is Ramen?" questioned Maladict, since it was yet another word he didn't know anything about. He knew Raizel's statement about Korea being like every other place in the world wasn't accurate. Because Maladict didn't come from his world and what he found normal and usual was different from people in the next country over, never mind another world. But he let it slide. "And have you mentioned to your friend the fact you are blinking into this unusual place?" Maladoct crossed his arms and arched an eyebrow. It was a curiosity question. He was honestly curious if Rai had.

After watching The Doctor interact with the fern, Volt quickly looked down at the bush she was pushing aside only to find it has started trying to wind around her wrist. Quick as her namesake, the Tenno yanked her hand away, backing away from anything that could potentially grab her. “I don’t know.” She answered honestly. “He might try.” The truth was she didn’t know Ordis that well. Volt followed The Doctor’s gaze up into the trees. “Yes they are very small aren't they?” She agreed. “I don’t recognize the plants either.” Had they been dragged to an entirely new system??

[[ Forest Room || Mini Arlo (2? I think she might be the only one left now) || mintedstar/fur ]] "Oh cool! She told me she'd been here before but I haven't really had a chance to ask her much about it." Arlo would definitely be asking Vyra about the House when she blinked back though. Well, once they were somewhere she felt safer. Vyra seemed to think that the little village was safe enough as long as you didn't use magic where you could be seen, but Arlo wasn't so sure about it.
"Yeah, I guess it was..." she trailed off as she thought about it, looking into the forest. "I didn't really see much of what happened with the clones though, I kept having to ask what was going on because I kept freezing," she admitted, a bit of irritation in her voice. It seemed like she frozen every time she'd tried to do anything. "Really? Thanks!" she said, her annoyance at the House forgotten again. She carefully folded the plane's wings to its sides and tucked it between the pages of her notebook to keep it safe before following Kid. (to the room? idk, is there anything there besides the trees and mushrooms rn?)
(Not yet! Well, there is a cliff somewhere around here. Hawk and my character just jumped off it. But you can add anything. I'm just out of ideas. XD ) "That's interesting," muttered Kid, suddenly wondering what that meant. If the Vyra who knew both the Arlo he knew and this Arlo had been here ...? But maybe there were just two Vyras blinking in or the other had stopped. Kid couldn't be sure. Freezing didn't seem very pleasant to Kid, but he didn't ask about it. Instead, he brushed aside tree leaves and continued down what might have been a path for animals to walk down. Though he wasn't sure what sort of animals this place had. "How is controlling your powers going?" he questioned, voice hesitant. Last time they'd talked, her parents had just died. He ... somehow doubted they'd made it. ( Oh ok xD ) "Yeah, I'll have to ask her about it sometime," Arlo replied, tucking the book (and plane) back into her pocket. Was it possible that Vyra had known the other Arlo too? It was so strange to think about, but it was definitely a possibility considering how the House usually worked. "Well..." her gaze drifted to the trees again. It was a bit foggy. She hadn't noticed it before, but maybe she'd just been too focused on the conversation to notice. Still, something about it didn't feel quite right... it reminded her of her first morning alone on the island. Not wanting to think about it, she returned her attention to Kid. "I haven't healed anything yet but I can do stuff like this." She held out her hand, fingers curled slightly inward. Like threads of light, energy stretched between her fingers, and with a spark, it ignited into what appeared to be greenish white flame. Arlo watched it flicker for a few moments. then raised her other hand over it. The energy started to stretch toward it, but something distracted her. She looked up sharply into the fog, her eyes widening. It had grown thicker while she'd been focused on her powers, or perhaps they'd just walked further into it, and she couldn't really see much other than Kaito and the shadowy shapes of a few tree and mushrooms. "Hey I think- Ah!" her whisper was cut off with a shout as something leapt on her, knocking her to the ground. The ball of energy she'd been holding flew from her hand and exploded nearby, briefly illuminating the fog enough for the silhouettes to be visible. The creatures seemed to be around the size of wolves or large dogs, with spikes running from their strangely shaped heads all the way down their tails... did they have extra legs? Of course, Arlo was too busy trying to free herself to see how many there were. She let out a scream as the creature's claws tore through the fabric of her hoodie and into her skin and sent a burst of sparks at it. It wasn't much, but it was enough to make the creature recoil with a hiss and paw at its face, if only for a few moments. Unfortunately, this also angered the rest of them and another started to run toward them.

»ƑαƖcσηGlancing back as Volt evaded the clinging fern, The Doctor frowned just a little. Jumpy. Then again, someone needed to be and it wasn't going to be her. She much preferred to walk around, looking at whatever happened to cross her path, which meant they were walking in the same direction, but The Doctor kept zigzagging to different sides of the 'trail'. "Bit big if you're comparing them to Earth," The Doctor said. "Small to other places. All depends. I mean ... I recognize them sort of. They look like hybrids. Like someone wanted to get close to Earth but not quite. Interesting. Makes me wonder where we're going and if there's anything out here with us." She did a full spin, still walking in the same direction, but looking back at Volt. "I get dragged into new places all the time, but usually I'm actually in my TARDIS. Not, well, I was in it, but I'm usually in it when I turn up somewhere too. This - this is new. I like new. Be nice to find some else though, to ask questions and things. Do you have anything other than a sword? Tracking mechanisms? Heat signatures? Just curious."

The question about ramen shocked Raizel, his expression widening as though the question were a life in peril. He blinked a few times, "The next time we meet, I shall bring you some." He spoke with newfound determination. "It is food that settles in water, then grows. After it grows, we eat it." He explained with passion in his voice. "You can add many things to it, like chicken, vegetables, and other things." He further added. "But Ramen by itself is just as good." He recalled a time he rushed out with raw ramen.
He silently shook his head after a pause, "No, I have not told my friends about this place. But, if one of my friends did meet you, they would be most curious about Borogravia." He went back to clarify his earlier remark. "Perhaps a second friend would to?" He crossed his arms to think it through. "To learn about new places, that's the curiosity my friends carry."

Rue blinked in to the powers room. Her face was, for once, free from dirt and instead of her usual loose, sturdy shirt and pants she was wearing a pretty, simple dark brown dress with cobalt blue accents and a hint of green around her sleeves and collar. Her hair looked freshly washed and brushed, and was pulled back from her face in a neat ponytail. She looked like she was headed to the birthday party of someone who thought very highly of themself. The only thing that didn’t fit was her expression. It was carefully wiped of any obvious distress, but she was gnawing in her lip so hard it seemed likely to start bleeding sooner rather than later, and her hands were trembling so badly she was clutching either side of her dress in an attempt just to steady them. She felt sick, and briefly she wondered whether she was imagining the change in the air around her face. The wind was gone. She wondered dully whether she’d fainted and woken up in her own bed. Then she blinked and processed where she was. Her knees buckled and she hit the ground with a light thump, and then there was water on her face and for some reason it was salty when she tasted it. “Thank you Paradox House,” she muttered, sniffing and wiping her eyes with the back of her hand. She was gratefu to this impossible place for giving her a moment, just a moment to break down. So she could be strong for her siblings when she went back.

Rex blinked into the power room in half armor squinting at a datapad that went blank the moment he appeared. "Thank the gods," he muttered. Number crunching usually wasn't bad, but he had been trying to make sense of the mess for the past few hours with little progress. The House seemed a welcome reprieve, and it looked like they were in a room already. Before he could look too closely at it, he heard a quiet thump behind him. Turning quickly, he found a young girl wearing a dress crumpled on the ground. With a start, he realized she was crying.
Concern flickered through him. He didn't really know her, having only seen her in passing. What was her name again? Rey? Beru- no, no Rue, it was Rue. Approaching slowly, he crouched down. "Hey kid, are you okay?" he asked.

Rue didn’t notice right away that someone else had there. She was staring at the floor, noticing the texture under small hands and concentrating on exactly how her dress felt under her. Definitely not thinking about her own world. She flinched as someone suddenly spoke right neat to her and scrambled back, her eyes wide and her mouth open in a silent gasp before she realized where she was again, and that this wasn’t a peacekeeper coming to take her away. It was that man from before. How long ago was that now? It seemed ages, but five minutes ago seemed to be someone else’s life now so she couldn’t be sure. She did know though, that he had killed or tried to kill a man here, and while she wasn’t sure why she didn’t want to take any chances. “Stay away from me.” She said very quietly, and her voice trembled but she didn’t let it break. More tears burned her eyes and she blinked furiously, fighting them back. So much for a break.

mintedstar/fur Volt tipped her head sideways in confusion. Smaller? Had this woman- oh the plains. Maybe she had only been to the plains, where the trees where young and only around seventy feet tall. “Genetically altered?” Volt guessed, keeping well away from the reach of the undergrowth. It would make sense as to why everything was only vaguely recognizable. However.... “That would imply we are not on Earth at all.” Why would someone need to replicate Earth on the planet itself? Volt paused at The Doctor’s question, then wordlessly held up one hand. The armored plates crackled with electricity for a moment before the Tenno sharply pointed at the trunk of the nearest tree. A bolt of blue lightning arced from her hand, scorching a deep, blackened gash into the bark as the trunk shuddered under the impact. “No way of tracking.” She replied, sizing up the damaged tree before turning back to look at The Doctor. “But I can fry anything we come across. If,” she added with a sheepish shrug, “like, it needs it.” She examined the woman curiously, as if her physical form would reveal any secrets. “What about you? Can humans track things?” She wasn’t entirely sure what they were able to do to begin with.

Rue watched him carefully, waiting for him to do something. Maybe she shouldn’t have made herself an enemy so quickly when she had no way of defending herself, but it was too late now. She’d have to deal with whatever the consequences were. Then she saw the look in his eyes. A flash of pain, and then nothing, like he’d cut the wire to whatever that feeling had been. She searched his face, looking for any hint of what he was thinking, how he’d react to being told to back off, but all she saw of a sort of resigned sadness she’d seen so many times before. Then he backed off, and she started to breath again. She hadn’t realized she’d stopped. She was still trembling so badly she doubted she’d be able to stand, but if he was going to hurt her for no reason he’d have done it then, right? “I’m okay.” She said slowly, and looked away, avoiding eye contact. She didn’t want to make him angry if for some reason he wasn’t already. Which meant she should really stop crying now. “What...what room is this?”

The tension was strange- unlike the kinds he was familiar with as he waited to see what would happen. When she finally replied, he nodded slightly. At least she wasn't hurt. Looking around the room, he shrugged. "Don't know, but we'll probably find out soon." He straightened up, then wondered if he should offer a hand to help her up. After a moment, he decided against it. She probably wouldn't appreciate the gesture.
Now the question was where to go to find out what this room wanted. He wished, not for the first time, that the House would put up clues so they wouldn't fumble around uselessly. As he thought that, a green field of numbers suddenly expanded from him. Starting slightly, his hands snapped into fists as the numbers formed a circle around him. "What the hell?" he muttered, realizing it looked exactly like the compass programmed into his helmet. Only this compass was useless as it spun lazily around him, not giving any indication which way was what.

Rue took the opportunity as he straightened up to rub her eyes. Her heart was finally starting to slow down, and her hands were still trembling, but she managed to push herself to her feet and stay there without falling. She took a step back as soon as she was upright, away from the taller blinker. She didn’t know what to think of him, but she did know that peacekeepers often weren’t often outright mean to little girls without an excuse, so she wasn’t falling for that without something solid to back it up. He reminded her of Peacekeepers too much for her to trust him just yet, even if she hadn’t seen him in a fight. She was grateful that he’d taken the change of subject in stride, though. “Yeah, rooms don’t usually stay totally mysterious for very long, huh? It doesn’t look that bad yet anyway...maybe-“ What we she’d been about to say was lost in a sharp gasp as Rex was suddenly swallowed by a circle of green, spinning around with him at its center. She backed up, expecting to see him melt or burst into lime green flames or get thrown at the ceiling, but instead he simply stood here, her own shock reflected in his eyes. “Woah....I’m guessing you can’t usually do that?”

“Do you mean normally or because of this room?” Rue asked with a touch of humor in her tone as she eyed the apparently harmless magical compass. “In my world? Nope. Not unless you count climbing trees.” She continued, deciding to answer both questions, since they both seemed pretty relevant. “Here though, I don’t know. Let’s see...” The twelve year old reached out a hand and concentrated, trying to make something happen. She wasn’t sure what she expected; earthquakes? To suddenly turn invisible? But nothing happened. Trying very hard now not to feel disappointed, Rue lowered her hand sheepishly and shrugged, pursing her lips in an embarrassed sort of smile at the older blinker. “Guess not. Unless I do and I just don’t know how to use it.” She shrugged again. “Which means the same thing. I hope you don’t have to have a power to get out of here, or the House is just being super mean to me today.” She turned and looked around the room, fully taking it in for the first time. “Maybe you have to like, activate the room somehow with your abilities?”

"Both," Rex said. Even if they were out of the forest room now, it was still a good idea to know what everyone could normally do. The more he knew, the better. He stopped messing with the compass to listen to her. Climbing trees was useful, especially with how small she was. She could get much higher than someone bigger and heavier like him. Not that it seemed like the skill would be much use here, he thought, looking around what seemed to be some kind of sports court on the deck of the large boat they were drifting along on. Good thing Kaito wasn't here. The memory of their last adventure with a boat made his mouth twitch into a faint smile.
Focusing back on Rue as she tried to make something happened, he waved a hand. "Don't worry about it. Might be something more subtle," he said. Maybe the House would give them a clue, though he doubted it. At her suggestion, he considered it, watching the compass spin around him. The only reason he could think of for having a compass would be to guide them somewhere, though with it spinning that seemed impossible. Maybe he could stop it? Brows drawing together in concentration, he tried to make the spinning slow down. Instead, it flickered and turned pink.
He blinked dumbly at it. "Not what I was going for, but why not," he said, rolling his eyes.

That was a decent point. She hoped she did have a power, she’d always felt a little bit jealous of the people around here who could do so many cool things. “I wonder what happens if you already have a power when you blink in?” She wondered out loud as the thought occurred to her, her eyes on the spinning compass. It seemed useless, but who knew? Maybe it was exactly what they needed. “Maybe you lose it. Maybe that compass belongs to someone else and the Hoise stole it?” That sounded like something the House would do, but it didn’t matter much now; they had it whether it was theirs or not.
Rue broke into a grin as the compass abruptly turned pink and her hand flew to her mouth, muffling her laughter. “What, you mean you didn’t do that on purpose?” She teased him, then turned, giving the place another good look. She’d never been on a boat before. The floor felt weird under her feet, unsteady as it rocked on the gallons of water under it, and the air was sharp in a wet sort of way that left cold droplets of water on her face as it passed her. She liked it. It was weirdly peaceful, for something that should have terrified her. “Have you ever been on a boat before? It’s amazing out here. Look at the sky, it’s so big.”

That was interesting to consider. Would the House just take their power away completely? Or would it replace it with something else? Maybe someone else would blink in to be their guinea pig. A chuckle left him at her suggestion. "Yeah it stole it from my helmet," he said. If there was someone who had the power to make compasses, it was strangely convenient that it looked exactly- well aside from the pink- like the ones programmed into their buckets.
Hearing her laugh at the color change, he flashed her an amused look. Relief crept through him as she seemed to be relaxing around him. As much as he tried to pretend it didn't bother him, being feared by people he didn't consider enemies didn't sit well with him. As the conversation turned to the boat, he turned his gaze on the sky. The sun peeked out from behind a few clouds, though they weren't dark enough to worry about rain. Her amazement by a thing as simple as being out in the open on a boat reminded him that many people were as well traveled as he was.
"Yeah, I have," he said. "The planet I grew up on was actually an ocean planet. Nothing but water as far as anyone could see." A laugh escaped him. "It wasn't nice like this though. It's always thunderstorming there." He glanced at her. She'd said she was good at climbing trees, so she was probably from a forested area. It made sense why she was so fascinated by the enormity of the sky if trees had blocked it out her whole life. "What about you?" he asked.

“Your helmet?” Rue glanced at him curiously. She thought she’d seen him with a helmet before, but she wasn’t sure she remembered what it looked like, and she had no idea what it was for. Apparently though, it had something to do with compasses, so maybe he used it for navigation? She was still wary of him, but she was wary of everyone, and she knew better than to decide someone was “bad” without hearing the whole story. She decided she’d ask him about it, sometime when she was ready to risk making him angry. And ready to hear about it if it was something hard to listen to.
For now, though, she looked out at the water and breathed in the wet, salty air. It could wait, and right now, she was too tired to be scared of someone who seemed this nice. “A whole planet of water?” She repeated in a hushed tone, amazement spreading across her face as she glanced at him to see if he was serious, then back at the endless water and the sky that curved and touched the horizon. It was almost impossible to believe that such a thing could exist, but she’d seen District four, hadn’t she? Sure it wasn’t all water, and she didn’t know about the endless storms, but they’re main industry was fishing for a reason. Still, seeing it in person was so much different than watching it on a screen. “I’m from District eleven.” She answered, then realized that he probably had no idea what that meant and quickly amended. “Agriculture. I work in the orchards, so I spend most of my time surrounded by trees when I’m not home.” Home. Would she ever see home again? Her eyes burned and she swallowed back the sudden wave of emotion at the simple word, fighting to stay on top before she broke down again. “What about you? What do you do?”

Rex nodded. Of course the one time he blinked in without it was the one time someone wanted to see it. "I can show it to you some other time," he said. He took pride in his helmet. The others wouldn't understand the significance of it and the markings, but he and his brothers knew. Maybe one day he'd be able to share the stories with someone here.
Her reaction to Kamino made him smile. "Yeah, it's all water. They had to build special structures in order for beings like me to live there." Listening to Rue talk about where she was from confirmed his guess. At least orchards were shaded. Gods knew he hated being out in dead sunlight without shade or a cloud in sight. It might have been his imagination, but her voice sounded strained as she turned the conversation back on him. Something must be happening to her home. Or her. He teetered uncertainly on whether he should ask about it or not. He already didn't know whether or not he should tell her he was in the army. Something was telling him that wouldn't be a very... helpful thing to their already shaky connection.
"I travel a lot," he said, looking out at the water. It wasn't a lie necessarily. He did. "Though," he added with a short laugh, "the House is somewhere I didn't expect to come."

“I can’t even imagine that,” Rue murmured. A whole planet of water, and she could barely accept enough of it to hold this boat. “It sounds incredible, though. I wish I could go there sometime.” Sometimes she thought she’d like to travel. She’d never even been out of walking distance of her House before, the idea of going to far it would take you days to get there was... Terrifying. But to do it because you chose to, and to decide where you were going, that sounded amazing too. Is that what he did? She glanced at Rex, trying to read his expression, his tone.
“I’ve never even been swimming before.” She told him, a hint of envy in her tone now. “Is it nice? The traveling, I mean. Do you like it? I wish I could see the world, sometimes, but I never leave my District.”

Rex knew that feeling. Back when he'd still been a cadet who had never set foot off of Kamino, just the thought of planets that weren't entirely oceans seemed implausible. The excitement of going new places had worn off by now. The House was the only thing that had come close to bringing back that wide eyed younger version of himself because gods knew what the hell they would run into here. "Maybe the House will bring you somewhere like it," he said. It was possible to go to other worlds, though he hoped they wouldn't go directly to Kamino. Something simply like it would be nice.
He added that note to what her skills were: doesn't know how to swim. Hopefully it wouldn't come to bite them later in this room or future rooms. "Swimming is fun. It's nicest in shallow water if you're just messing around," he said, skirting the question of whether or not he liked traveling for a moment while he found a good way to answer. It wasn't that he didn't like it. It was just that most of the places he went were war torn. There wasn't much beauty to be found on battlefields. He figured the places were beautiful in their own ways when they hadn't been reduced to blackened scars in the earth.
"I do like traveling," he said. "I get to see a lot of different places and beings that are different from where I grew up." Sometimes he wished he could stay in places for a little longer to help, but he didn't know if he could ever really settle anywhere. After everything, even Kamino seemed distant. Snapping out of those thoughts, he looked to Rue. "Maybe you could travel when you get older?" he suggested.

Lovelace blinked into the room, sitting curled in what had been a chair, eyes focused carefully on whatever had been in front of her. “Number two engine is...oh, goddammit. C’mon, buddy...we haven’t made it this far just for you to crap out on me here...” She stopped, eyes widening a little as her voice suddenly echoed, and she fell sideways, falling flat on a familiar...yet unfamiliar...smooth, slick surface. The whole room was moving, back and forth, back and forth, in a sickening, unending motion that reminded her of the antigravity training she’d had. Apparently, for all her space experience, she had yet to find her sea legs. “What the...” She scrambled up into a crouch, splaying her arms out in an attempt not to fall again as she tried to adjust to the lurching of the...basketball court. She was here again - but why the hell was it moving this time?

Rue knew there were people in the Capital who traveled all the time. And there were the people who bust the arenas, of course. But she didn’t want to travel the way they did, moving from camera to camera with new hair to match each place you went. Couldn’t you just travel for the sake of seeing new things? Couldn’t you just pick a direction and walk until you were far away and everything looked different? Of course, she mused, if people did that she wouldn’t hear about them, that was the point. And people who could did that didn’t have families to take care of, or electric fences and Peacekeepers watching their every move.
“I jump in mud puddles sometimes.” She offered. It was the closest thing to swimming she could think of. “And I see people on TV who live by water, so they swim sometimes. It looks so weird though, like flying but in slow motion or something.” Plus she only saw people swim when they were in an arena, and then she wasn’t really watching their technique because she was too busy scanning the bushes behind them for threats. But he didn’t need to know that just yet. “I like rain when it isn’t storming, especially that light rain you get really early in the morning sometimes, when the birds are just starting to sing. And then you get rainbows sometimes when the sun comes up.”
Her mind moved back to traveling, and her expression shifted, a more serious look coming into her brown eyes. She was glad he liked getting to see the world and that he could, but...well, she was going to get her wish. She’d almost managed to forget it for a moment, somehow. But she was going to get to travel after all. She could still hear it. The sound of the wind answering as the person holding her name asked for volunteers. Her parents clutching her siblings hands, perhaps expecting them to be snatched away too, not meeting her eyes as she stood high above the crowd and waited for a rescue that never came. “Yeah.” She murmured, dropping her gaze to the restless water below her. She wished she could reach it, to see what it felt like. “Yeah, I don’t think...that’s ever going to happen for me.”

Elliot was forcefully falling from the troposphere, upside down head first diving towards the ground. He was trying to stop himself from falling further, but the impact was too great for him to recompose himself. Quickly he rested a hand against his chest and closed his eyes, attempting to slow his fall through levitation. He had recomposed himself, he was combating the g-force that was imposed on him. However, something was wrong-the ground was closer, more then it should have been. There was multiple heart beats on the ground below, levitation was out of the question; he was going to collide- he opened his eyes, surprise and bafflement as he immediately face planted against the polished wooden ground. The house had decided to blink him mid fall-relocating him from the elevation in the sky, to basically less then ten feet. The ground shook more then it already was. There was a deep dent in the wooden surface, where he impacted to indicate that he had been free falling at a forceful pace. "T-Tch..." He twitched on the floor, towards the immediate pain.

Kelsier smiled as Maladict obliged. He was impressed, not only with by the fact that his friend could apparently turn into a bird, but also with how at ease he looked in that form. The way he caught the air under his wings and spread his tail, his legs folded and tucked neatly out of the way, if the mistborn hadn’t seen him shift he’d never have guessed it wasn’t a regular magpie. The smile wavered as something he couldn’t see changed. Suddenly it looked like the bird was fighting against an invisible force, and then he was being swept away and Kelsier was forced to break into a run just to keep him in sight. He couldn’t tell what was dragging Maladict, and since they’d recently leapt off a cliff to escape invisible wolves, that was decidedly not good. He sped up, his mistcloak whipping out behind him, and with a sudden stab of dread he realized he could no longer see the other blinker. “Mal!” He shouted, forcing himself to slow down as he scanned the trees for the black and white bird. No sign of him. Maybe- He heard the harsh call and spun around, recognizing the sound instantly. “Mal? What happened? Are you all right?” The bird darted back through the trees as best he could as soon as he knew were Kelsier was. Black and white body working against the wind he could still feel, the bird alighted on Kelsier's shoulder after a while. Mal's feathers were ruffled and he was flustered, but he still made a pretty clear indication on which way the wind was blowing. Could Kelsier not feel it? There was a light cry from the vampire again and then he started hopping in the direction. It seemed like the wind picked up a bit the further in that direction he went. He wasn't sure, but it seemed like the biggest hint since the wolves in the unusual clearing. He hoped Kelsier would willingly go. (Heh heh. The exit's a wind tunnel?) (Perfect )) Kelsier turned his head as the bird landed on his shoulder, and he relaxed, relieved to see that whatever had happened hadn’t harmed him. “There you are. What was all that about?” The vampire moved again, and he tilted his head, frowning slightly. “You know, it’d be a lot easier to understand you if you weren’t a bird.” He pointed out good-naturedly, but he began to follow Maladict anyway, figuring he had a reason to have picked that way. Or he was just guessing, which was fine too. (Short post is short oops)

»ƑαƖcση"Probably not," agreed The Doctor. "Earth would have noticed, I think. And I don't know of any time in its history where it gets like this." This wasn't saying she hadn't missed it. But from her experience, probably not. She looked at where Volt was pointing her hand and then frowned a bit more as the trunk of the tree gained a deep burn mark. "Might be good at a cook-out," she admitted. "If we run across a very large hamburger." She glanced around again, waiting for the animal and bug noises to come back after that loud noise. Slowly, they did. "Humans? Ye, if they have their iphones or something. Naturally, not so much. I'm not a human though, in case ya were wondering. But not tracking things either. Just using this." She tapped the side of her head. "And it's saying it can hear running water over there. What about you?" She pointed over to a place a bit off the animal trail. "Suggestions? Follow this or head that-o way?"

Sherlock grinned and took off after the child, not running at full speed but jogging fast enough to make his coat fly majestically out behind him. It was strange how much this Myrnin was like his older self, and yet so starkly different. As if he’d both stayed young and gotten older than anyone ever ought to- which, he supposed, might be close to the truth. How, after all the time he’d lived, he still managed to get excited about the most simple things and keep from becoming permanently bored out of his mind was one of the biggest mysteries the detective hadn’t yet solved. And yet, this boy version of the vampire he knew still clearly had to deal with more than his share of unfriendly faces. He didn’t know why, but he could tell that it was 1: pretty much everyone that hated him and 2: not Myrnin’s fault, at least, not that he has knowledge of, which meant it was probably something about him. Knowing what he did about where Myrnin was from, it seemed like a safe bet that it had something to do with vampires. he chuckled and twirled, dodging the first two jets of water, then winced as the third hit him in the face. “You’re good at this, aren’t you? Better watch yourself, you’ll be running low on water before long and I've got plenty, good luck getting past me for more!” "Huh?" said Myrnin, suddenly switching directions and running backward as he looked down at the water gun. "It runs out?" He frowned. "Awww. Why does it do that? Someone should fix it so it doesn't." But while this newfound weakness was a drawback it nowhere near convinced Myrnin to stop playing. Once again he moved in on Sherlock, joyfully spraying water at him. After close to three more decent sized bursts the water in the gun spluttered out of it and then nothing. Myrnin yelped and started running away from Sherlock, aware that there would be retribution. "How do I refilllllll it?" he asked, question trailing behind him. (Pfft. I'm sure if Sherlock asked this Myrnin questions he'd get a lot more answers.) “Where did you think the water came from?” Sherlock snorted, twirling out of the way as another jet of water came at him. “It’s inside the thing, and since the thing isn’t very big and is light enough for you to carry it can’t have all that much, now can it?” Another one his his shoulder and he ducked, narrowly avoiding the third. Then he grinned as he saw Myrnin running away, a deep laugh escaping him as he charged after the little boy, aiming his own toy at his fleeing figure and firing several streams of water in quick succession. “With the big bucket of water I got these from, remember? You thought they were plants. Anyway, good luck getting past me to get there, I’ve still got plenty.” (Shh. He doesn’t need to know that. )
