( I plan on it. Fufu.
That sounds good. Maybe we can make our first posts on this thread a list of our characters. So we can keep track of even side characters. I never new a 1x1 RP could have so many charries. )
Tallmyrtle smirked at the way Sandyrose had to crane her neck up to look at him. "Awh, what a shame. You made such a good contribution to today's pile." He nodded a few times with his eyes closed. Tallmyrtle, in fact, was completely oblivious to all signs of Sandyrose's 'stay away from me' signals. He held himself on such a high pedestal that it would never ever cross his mind that she would not want to hang out with the dashing and clever Tallmyrtle. She should feel blessed to be in his presence. Completely enamored to even be in his shadow, quite literally since he was so tall and she was so short. He actually casted a shadow on her. He leaned in a tad, and pointed to a large white rabbit that was in the pile. "See that?" He whispered, looking at the rabbit and then into Sandyrose's eyes to direct her attention to it. "I caught that one right there." Rabbit's were a rarity in MistClan territory. Unless they crossed the border, which rarely happened. As rabbits opposed to the marshy and pine tree ridden MistClan territory. "Caught it right at the border." He winked at the smaller shecat, almost implying that he dared to cross the border, before standing up straighter, and puffing out his chest. "What I was going to ask, is if you want to share it with me?" Tallmyrtle gave her a small grin, his sharp yellowing teeth peeking out. 'How could she ever deny to spend a meal with me?' He thought to himself. Oh so full of himself. "I would love to spend time with you, since you've been out hunting all day," he sounded genuine in his feelings. Although, he honestly just assumed she was hunting all day, since, for the most of the day, he was sleeping. Skipped all the morning patrols as he slept into the afternoon.

( Yeah, that sounds good! For me it'll be my second post though, because I want to keep my first one the way it is in case someone else wants to roleplay this plot with me too. I know, haha. Usually any other 1x1 I roleplay in only has me taking on one or two characters tops. This is actually kind of fun, though, that we can roleplay interactions and relationships aside from just the main pair.
Also, did you know that this plot was originally a fanfiction idea of mine? We can obviously shape it to go however we want for this roleplay, but the original idea I had is that the two main characters failed to stop the deputies' plans, and it resulted in an all-out war between the two Clans - or rather the two different sides - the cats who supported the deputies, and the cats who didn't. A lot of death happened, the two Clans ended up merging into one, and the few survivors had to flee their home. That was basically just the prologue, and the meat of the story was the main characters and the other survivors trying to take back their Clans while also facing internal strife[because the group was made up of cats from both of the Clans alike and they just kept blaming one another for what happened] and external threats[the new merged Clan, the oncoming leaf-bare, rogues, you name it] on all sides. I had this idea planned out fairly well, but it never made it anywhere, so I turned it into a roleplay because I figured it'd be funner that way. )
Sandyrose resisted the urge to bristle her fur. Instead she dropped her gaze to the fresh-kill pile, eyeing the rabbit in question. It was certainly impressive, but she still wasn't overly impressed. It wasn't like Tallmyrtle was the very first MistClan cat to catch a rabbit, nor would he be the last. Plus, the Clan was full of great hunters, so it while it was rare to see a rabbit on the pile, it wasn't so rare to see just a big catch in general. She resisted the urge to taunt, 'is that the only thing you managed to catch?' but since she had only come back with a mouthful of fish, she decided to keep her jaws shut on that subject. Her original plan had been to stop by the stream to catch some aquatic prey, and then move on into the pine forest to catch some prey more native to MistClan's fresh-kill pile. Only, she'd ended up being distracted by Whitequill, so that hadn't worked out. It was only when Tallmyrtle mentioned the border did Sandyrose jerk back to full attention. She narrowed her light green eyes at the tall cat, in an almost disapproving manner, but before she could question whether he was an idiot or not, he had already dropped the invitation to eat with him on her. Her eyes widened, and she instantly wanted to back out of this conversation. Her expression soon morphed into a blank one, and she prepared herself for what was going to happen next. "Thanks for the offer," the she-cat replied in a monotone, keeping her voice carefully neutral, "but I just took a dip into the stream and I'm still freezing." It wasn't a complete lie, but she wasn't quite as cold as before. "I just want to curl up and rest, so I don't catch a chill and get sick. Maybe next time." She was going to be as polite as possible, because she knew how Tallmyrtle could be. However, he was also very good at stripping away her patience...

( Okie dokie. I'll update my post too when I get home. c: Oh good, haha, I was worried you didn't like RPing so many charries. It's kind of neccisary though, for the plot. But it's like we have our own lil' world of kitties. I do hope you're enjoying this RP as much as I am && aren't getting bored. Heh.
Oh that's super interesting! I would be so into reading that. But I'm having a good time RPing it all out with you as well. Haha, I hope it's going as how you pictured it in your fanfic. Okay, one sec, I need to clear some things up for me. So the two deputies are evil && are only merging the clan for their own evil deeds right? So they can rule it? Oooo' what would be the merged clan named? A mix in between Mist and Dew? WaterClan? CloudClan? Maybe I'm thinking too far ahead here. XD Sorry if my posts are rough looking and small. I'm on mobile, plus I'm at this Easter thing. @ ~ @ )
Tallmyrtle grimaced at her rejection and excuse. But he quickly regained his composure and his face went back to a smirk. "Ah, haha, welllll. I could help warm you up." His tail lashed behind him at the thought of sharing tongues with Sandyrose. Him, curled up around her. Fur against fur as he cleaned behind her ears and let his body warmth soak into her small damp frame. It melted his cold narcissistic heart. "Plus," he added, to further how good his idea is, "A good meal in you will warm you right up. Trust me, I know what's best." For a fraction of a second the idea skirted across his mind. 'Maybe she is purposely trying to avoid me...' He angled his ears forward and tilted his head to the side, looking down into Sansyrose's eyes. Analyzing them. He cleared his throat and took a tentative step back, looking up to the grey cloudy sky and around the clearing. StarClan this was embarrassing, if he was seen walking away from her like this it would kill his ego and reputation. He would fall into a deep depression for at least three whole minutes.

( I saw it! I really like all of your characters, haha. Did you draw those pictures of them? No, no! XD I'm enjoying literally everything about this roleplay! I'm already attached to a lot of our characters,
Haha, yeah... the fanfic failed to make it off the ground, but this is just as good if not better than how I pictured it. :3 ... I haven't actually thought about it all that much, haha. I imagine Sparkheart wants to overthrow Mintstar because he believes he would make a better leader. In my original idea, one of the deputies actually ends up killing the other afterward so they can reign over the merged Clan themselves. They never really fully intended for it to be a joint leadership, and so they just used the other deputy. We don't have to do it that way though, if you don't want to. I haven't really thought about the merged clan name, either... we can decide on that when/if we get there. )
Sandyrose couldn't help the feeling of sheer annoyance and disgust that swept over her at his proposition. Her tail curled slightly in response, the only outward sign that gave away her growing desire to tell him off, and her impatience with this tomcat. It seemed she would have to reject him with a little more force, wouldn't she? "No thank you," she meowed, "I'm really not hungry, and I just want to spend some time to myself." For a moment, she noticed what seemed to be uncertainty coming from him. He even took a step back from her, but this wasn't enough to have her taking her words back. Tallmyrtle was often too clingy for her liking, and sometimes she just wished he would direct his attention to some other she-cat. "It's nothing against you, personally." That was a bold-faced lie, but she doubted he'd pick up on that. She just wanted him to go away so she could rest in peace and quiet. She was anticipating a bad reaction to her second rejection, though, so she figured peace and quiet wouldn't be an option right now. ... Sandyrose found herself wishing she had stayed at the stream a bit longer, that she had talked to Whitequill for a while longer. She'd rather be talking to him than Tallmyrtle right now.

( Haha, there are a lot of errors I need to fix that auto-correct screwed up on. I did! But really I just drew one cat and copy pasted it a bunch. cx I might draw individual profiles for them but they're just done simple like that so we can have visuals. Me too. ; w ;
Huhuhu. That sounds fun~~ You can kill Willowstep if you wanna' I just want to see evil leader Sparkheart! )
Tallmyrtle rolled his eyes, flicking his long tail back and forth behind him arrogantly. "Alright, suit yourself. It's your loss." He clenched his teeth in a frown and knelt down to grab a mouse from the pile. Since his full rabbit was too much for him to eat alone he would settle for a single portion mouse. But while his head was down and out of sight for a split second he looked like he was about to tear up with his bright blue eyes all glossy. When he came back up with a mouse in his jaws he gave her one more look of uncertainty, raising an eyebrow in question. "You really sure?" His voice was muffled and he swallowed thickly around the mouse in between his teeth. It tasted like swamp water on his tongue and made him even more upset. His tail that was once lashing was now limp and brushed the ground. "You're really breaking my heart here," he mewed in a whisper and turned his head away to avoid eye contact. If she rejected him maybe he could eat with his friend.(If you wanna' RP his friend that would be cool : 3) Then he could tell his friend all about this terrible terrible rejection and how he felt like jumping off a cliff. His heart felt like it was in the process of shattering into a million pieces.

( Ah, I see, XD I need to finish up descriptions for my characters... I have Sandyrose and Thistlestar done, but that's it,
Evil leader Sparkheart would be awesome! )
Sandyrose only blinked at Tallmyrtle and turned her head away from him with a mutter of, "Maybe next time. Sorry." The thing was, she just really wasn't interested in whatever he was looking for. How could someone like him possibly understand her? Did he even know what the word 'hardship' meant? While she was stuck fighting tooth and nail for the respect and acceptance of her clanmates, he'd had it all handed to him without even lifting a leg. He would get over it anyway, she told herself as she headed away from him and the fresh-kill pile. She was sure he'd be over it by later today and be back to pestering her. Though, she did wish he would get the message already, that she just wanted him to leave her be. ( Hmm... I shall name this cat... Graypetal. Yeah, that should do, XD )Graypetal's whiskers twitched, her yellow eyes watching the exchange between Tallmyrtle and Sandyrose as she nibbled at a mouse. She couldn't keep the look of amusement off her face as she watched the tall tomcat get rejected. Tallmyrtle was someone who she considered a friend, but the gray tabby also loved to make fun of him and tease him about his hopeless crush on MistClan's tiniest warrior. It was all in good fun, she told herself. "Hey, Tallmyrtle," Graypetal called out to the tomcat as Sandyrose padded away, "y'know you can eat with me instead." She made a face at him, looking like she was having the time of her life. Well, to be fair, being a constant witness to her friend's unrequited love was entertaining a lot of the time. It seemed the only cat who just couldn't see Sandyrose's disinterest was Tallmyrtle himself.

( Okie dokie. I'm really curious to what the others are like. : 3c
Fufufu.This'll be great. )
Tallmyrtle would have cracked his teeth with how hard he was clenching down on them, thankfully his fangs just sank into his mouse.'Maybe next time... Sounds exactly like what you said last time...' He felt mad but sad all at the same time, the clashing emotions making him feel conflicted and confused. Rejection was so hard for him to handle, it was a very rare thing for him to experience. His ears grew hot and flattened back on his head, he took two steps back, his eyes darting at the ground and then at her back until he heard his name called. His large ear swiveled over to catch the voice traveling over to him before the rest of his body quickly spun around to see Greypetal. He growled to himself under his breath, but mostly directed at his friend. He knew she would get a kick out of this. He tried to recompose himself and with his head held high he padded over to Greypetal, silently taking a seat beside her. Not even saying a hello. The aura that radiated off of him was something deadly. He leaned down to drop his prey at his paws. With his head still bowed down at his paws he mewed in a frustrated tone, "I just don't understand this." His eyes looked even more tired than before, the raccoon circles emphasizing his exhaustion with his hopeless romance. "I just don't understand. I'm doing everything perfect. But," he growled a little at himself, his shoulders visibly tensing up, "I've never ever had this problem before. I've had so many chances with so many other cats but she is the only one. Only one. That just won't." She just would not fall for him like the others, he had expected her at his feet by now, obeying to his every whim. He let out a big sigh and took a bite out of his meal. His body relaxed into his spot on the ground. He went from feeling like a bomb about to explode to a depressed puddle on the floor. He finally looked up at Greywing. "I'm not mad... just... frustrated." He licked his tongue over his teeth and muzzle. "Y'know." All in all he was not that hungry, he ate a little bit ago. But he thought it would be an easy way to break the ice with Sandyrose. But that clearly did not go as planned, now he was stuck eating while he was not hungry to just avoid looking even more foolish than he already did. Oh StarClan the prey pile was in the middle of camp, everyone absolutely saw him get rejected.

( Haha, and now I'll be adding Graypetal to my list of charries, XD
... sort of off topic, but I just find it so interesting how I spell it like 'Graypetal' and you spell it as 'Greypetal'. It jarrs me a little whenever I see the difference in spellings for certain words, haha. )
Sandyrose quickly padded away from the fresh-kill pile, ignoring the spectators who had just witnessed her rejection of Tallmyrtle. She was well-aware of how other cats viewed her, and how they viewed him, too. He was spoiled. But for some reason, a lot of others liked him anyway. 'You should just accept it and accept him, because no one else will ever look at you that way.' That's what she had been told in the past; by one of her brothers. 'You're lucky that he even notices you at all. You should be grateful.' That one was by one of her fellow she-cat warriors. 'Settling for someone you don't completely love is still better than living your whole life alone. I don't want you to be lonely, Sandyrose.' Her own mother, even. That one tore into her the worst, because what right right did her mother have to look at her, look right into her eyes and say she didn't want the daughter she had all but abandoned, to feel lonely... "My life is not defined by my size," she hissed under her breath, her tail lashing. "And I won't settle for Tallmyrtle, just because I'm scared I'll end up alone forever if I don't." Why was MistClan filled with such oblivious, shallow, judgmental cats? Graypetal took another bite of her mouse, listening to Tallmyrtle's venting. She chewed, swallowed, and waited for him to be done, and when she found her opening, she said, "It's almost taking you forever to realize it yourself, but I think you're finally starting to see it." The gray tabby turned to look directly at her friend. "She's not interested, Tallmyrtle," the words were blunt, and for once, she wasn't mocking or teasing him, "not that I know how to win the affection of a she-cat, but I'm willing to bet your clinginess really isn't doing you any good, either. I know I'd hate it if someone was always around me every time I walked into camp or settled down to eat." Graypetal's yellow eyes blinked at him, and suddenly she was smirking deviously at him again. "Plus you're annoyingly tall. Even I get frustrated always having to look up to make eye contact sometimes." ( OOC - I literally just created Graypetal almost on the spot, and I already like her, I'll also probably be making descriptions of Sandyrose's family - at least her mother and brothers, anyway. I still haven't decided on her father yet, if he's dead or just... not even in the Clan at all. )

( Oh gosh. XD Okay, there's a story to that. So, I never learned how to correctly spell gray/grey when I was little but in Britain/England they spell it grey with an 'e' kind of how they also spell color like colour. And I accidentally picked it up and spell it like that. It's just a bad habit of mine. I hope it doesn't bother you too much. : s
I just read through them all! Golly gee I love your characters they're just so dynamic and real.
I'm dying over that Sandyrose dialog. The poor baby. )
Tallmyrtle squinted at her words and then was shocked. "Bweh!? I thought- My height is- Um?! Excuse me??" He straightened up to look taller, puffing his chest out. "My height is just perfect, it makes me look strong and protecting and- and gives me character." His tail flopped around in the dirt behind him at how agitated he was. Insulting his height, the nerve of some people, they were just jealous. His ear twitched, he noticed that he was getting off track from her comment. He wiggled his body, re-situating himself into place. "What you say couldn't possibly be true. I'm so, so wonderful. She should want to be around me." His shoulders started to slowly slouch again, a bad habit he had while sitting so he could be at the height of other cats. And because he was too lazy to sit up straight all the time. He leaned down and took one more bite of his mouse before feeling his stomach resisting being so full. He swallowed begrudgingly and pushed the mouse away from in front of him. He was done with the thing. "Besides, besides besidesbesides, I am doing everything right, she's the one that is wrong. You're wrong too." He was just so stubborn to be right. Deep down he knew, he knew she was right. But he would never admit to it, he knew but he did not want to believe it. He always pushed the thought away but it was becoming even more real now that someone was flat out telling him. He stuck his tongue out.

( Oh? I always thought they spelled it like 'gray' in Britain/England... I live in Canada, and we spell it as 'gray', and we also spell words like 'colour' and 'favourite' with a 'u' over here.
Thanks! Characters have always been my strong point when it comes to my writing, :3 And if I had any drawing ability, I'd give drawing my characters a go, but unfortunately I can't draw to save my life, haha.
Yeah... but she's struggling through it anyway. >:3 She won't let it get her down for very long. )
Graypetal laughed out loud at Tallmyrtle's shocked reaction to her words, her whiskers twitching in her mirth. Poking fun at him never got old. He never failed to react in a hilarious way. "Character? I don't think you need your height to give you that, you already have plenty... 'character', without it." The gray tabby sat up, her mouse reduced to a little pile of bones and scrappings. She wrapped her fluffy tail around her white paws. "And now you're just in denial," Graypetal shrugged her shoulders at him. "Think about it for a moment; she's always making excuses not to spend time with you. She avoids you like you're sick with some incurable illness whenever she can. She almost never looks you in the eye." She shook her head, sighing. "It looks to to me like you're fighting a losing battle, Tallmyrtle. If I were you, I'd either back off completely or try a less... forward approach. She clearly doesn't appreciate how you're going about it right now." She was fairly positive that his one-sided love would remain one-sided no matter what he did, but what kind of friend would she be if she didn't offer at least some help? Even if she knew it was entirely unlikely that Sandyrose would ever look at him that way, she should at least try and be supportive... right?

( I learned it England Grey America Gray as a cute way of remembering it. Oh sweet! I didn't know you were Canadian. That's really neat. It's kind of funny how English spelling and speaking differs from place to place.
Practice makes perfect when it comes to drawing, that's all I can say. I might draw some of our characters though! Do you have any real-life-cat-pictures of Sandyrose? So I can see exactly what her fur type is? I mean, I have a picture in my mind but I'm not exactly sure it's the same as how you describe her. Or you could use one of those fancy cat generators. Dolldivine has some good ones, I've used them before.
I support her. )
"B-But I have, like what you said, character, she should like me." He made extra emphasis on his excessive character a good thing. Like being a snobbish, full-of-himself, preppy tomcat was a good thing. He scoffed at her words, squinting at her with his ice cold blue eyes. "Well what would you do in my paws?" he sneered the rhetoric question, "Give her flowers or some cheap mouse-dung- Oh Hey! That's actually a pretty good idea! Shecats dig flowers. Good idea me!" He then said in a different tone of voice, a more hauteur and stuck-up one, while he cleaned his tidy chest fur, "Thank you, me." And then he went back to his natural voice, "You're welcome, me." As he was having a cocky conversation with himself on how great he was. Like he did not get enough praise and attention already. He had to voice his own thanks to himself. "You know what shecats also dig, seeing powerful tomcats who win in battles. Hey hey! Let's all go on a border patrol together tomorrow and totally mess up some DewClan cats!" He said as if everyone had already accepted that is plan was a tremendous one. He seemed so sure that he knew the ins and outs of every shecats mind. Even though, he has had a few admirers, he has never had a mate before. Nonetheless his attitude never changes. He never fails to act this way. "Haha, I'll even wake up early for morning patrol," he promised, even though he has never ever woken up for morning patrol, and definitely not dawn patrol. Dawn patrol was out of the question. "I just really wanna' prove to those DewClan cats what they are really messing with." He wrapped his claws around the air in front of him, mock digging his claws into a warriors fur when engaging in a border skirmish.

( Yeah, I'm a proud Canadian! :3 It is, isn't it? Also like how different English-speaking countries and whatnot all have their own accents despite the fact that we're all speaking the same language.
I'll probably have to use a cat generator. That, or I could search up pictures of cats on google until I find one that matches my mental image of her, but I'll probably just use the generators, though. Are we allowed to post pictures from those onto here, is the question, however...
Haha, she probably needs an entire support group, XD ) ( Is it just me, or does Graypetal and Tallmyrtle seem like they'd make a good pairing? O_O I can totally see Graypetal influencing him to become a more genuine cat over time. )Graypetal only blinked and sat there as Tallmyrtle went on and on. For a moment, she didn't even know what to say to his ridiculous and arrogant antics, so she just remained silent and took it all in. By the time he was done, she was thoroughly impressed by his sheer stupidity. "You know, I'm also a she-cat," she pointed out nonchalantly, licking at one of her paws that she had brought up to her face for examination. "Yet it never crosses your mind to ask me for advice. All you do is vent at and brag to me all the time." She unsheathed her claws and looked them over - they were as sharp as ever. She put her paw back down to the ground and looked at Tallmyrtle again. "Maybe I just don't act enough like a she-cat, who knows." To be fair, not a lot of tomcats were interested in her - at least, not after they got a firsthand taste of her personality. They all gave up on her after they realized that she got a kick out of watching them choke on their confessions. Perhaps she just hadn't met the right cat yet, one who didn't mind her for all that she was. Well at the very least, it wasn't like she was desperate for a mate - she was probably one of the few she-cats in the Clan who wouldn't be bothered to spend her life without one. "Ah, but who am I to even say anything?" Graypetal sat back on her haunches and whatever seriousness she had been holding onto seeped out of her. "I really don't care all that much about romance and mates. It's your problem at the end of the day. I just like to sit back and watch the drama unfold, y'know?"

( Your like my second Canadian friend. That's so true! It's kind of funny how that happens.
I'm not sure. Hehe, but you can post it and delete it really quickly before any moderator sees. : x
!!! That's what I was thinking too! Maybe if Tallmyrtle can get over himself and Sandyrose. I do see that! Fufufu. )
Tallmyrtle scrunched up his face a little bit. "So is that a no to my awesome plan?" He had to add the awesome part in there for extra emphasis. Tallmyrtle was so full of himself he did not even listen to her words, they just went in one ear and out the other. He glanced at the bones of her meal and at his whole mouse with only two bites taken out of it. He pointed apathetically to his mouse with his forepaw. "Do you want mine too? I ate earlier and really only used food as an excuse to talk to Sandyrose," he mewed, adding that last part in a quieter tone of voice. At least he was honest with his intentions and emotions. He wasn't that stupid, he knew what he was doing. Although, if he had been talking to any other cat about this, he would have never said that. Good thing no one was really around to hear him admit to it. He kind of liked that he had at least one person he could be honest with. That way he could take a break from being fake all the time. He still felt like he had to act a little bit cool around Greypetal though. But he did not think she cared about how cool he was.

( Yay! XD You're my... second or third?... non-Canadian friend, haha.
I could do it that way. But first things first... I need to actually make them first, haha.
Graypetal takes nothing Tallmyrtle says or does the way he probably thinks she should, and she's always got something snide to say to him, XD But at the same time, she's honest with him, even if sometimes it's just to see the look on his face afterward. )
Graypetal reached out a paw and pulled Tallmyrtle's unwanted mouse toward her. "Don't mind if I do," she meowed, and began to eat it. For how thin and delicate she appeared, it was no secret that she had the appetite of a cat twice her size. She loved her food, and was probably one of the few cats in MistClan who could sit and eat fish all day of she was allowed - fish was undoubtedly one of her favourites. After taking a couple more bites, Graypetal lifted her head. She licked her lips, and then said to her friend, "I'm not opposed to going on a border patrol with you, but I'm not going to purposefully pick a fight with DewClan if they're not doing anything worth starting a skirmish over." She finished off the mouse in a few last bites, and then pushed it away to join her other pile of mouse bones. "I'm not scared to sink my teeth and claws into one of their pelts, but after how tense the last Gathering was, I think provoking them without a reason would be a bad idea." It wasn't very often that Graypetal acted as the voice of reason, but she crossed the line at mocking other cats when it could cause actual bloodshed. She may be a merciless force on the battlefield, but she didn't get a kick out of hurting others, and she didn't believe in fighting for the mere sake of fighting. "So in short, I'm neither agreeing to or denying to your... clearly not very well-thought out plan," she twitched her whiskers at him, laughter glinting in her yellow eyes, "but I will go on a border patrol if that's what you want."

( Goodness, I wish I could move to Canada right now. With all of the dumb stuff that's going on in the US right now. lol
You don't have to do it right now, but the sooner you do the sooner I can draw. c:
x3 She'll put him in his place. He needs someone to knock some sense into him. And she's the only person who will actually tell it like it is. I love her. )
Tallmyrtle smirked,"So you'll come? For real?" He kneaded the ground a little under his paws. He just knew that this would work out perfectly, and if it did not, at least he got to hang out with the cat he loved the most in the world and his... well, at least he considered Greypetal a good friend. Maybe not best friend. But she was definitely up there. So at least he could have good company. "I mean, to give you some reason for revenge, remember what they did to Vinetail? That other cat made the first blow. Not us." He shrugged his shoulders, "Evidence enough that we are not the bad guys here. DewCan gets what they deserve." The thought of the dark clouds shrouding around the moon made him shiver. He remembered the gathering so vividly in his mind. It was the first time he was actually recognized Thistlestar as a leader who deserved respect. Mostly because the tomcat scared Tallmyrtle out of his skin that night.
( Do you want to time skip to the morning? )

( Well... Canada's not without its own issues, haha.
The issue I'm having right now is with Sandyrose. It's hard to find the right shade of colour that I picture. It's either too much brown and not enough red, or too much red and not enough brown. -_- She's a pale reddish-brown, touching on almost a very slight pink/peach, but none of it's good enough, XD I guess I'll just have to make do with what I have, haha.
I'm really loving Graypetal too, XD I've been toying with the idea of having her be like the grand-daughter or great grand-daughter of Thistlestar, and I finally decided I'm gonna do it, starting by incorporating it into this reply right here, XD )
Graypetal stood up, and looked up at her friend. The expression on her face was unusually stern, and when she spoke, the tone of her voice suggested that it would be best not to argue with her. "I'll go," she meowed, "but mark my words, Tallmyrtle. If you start something that you can't handle, I will not be taking the blame for it. This is your idea. The only thing I'm doing is joining you on a simple border patrol, nothing more and nothing less. I just want you to be aware of that." It wasn't very often that the gray tabby's heritage became apparent, but in this moment, the look on her face and in her eyes really resembled that of the leader whom she was descended from. She'd always had the ability to be stern and commanding, but it was something she was often unaware of because she preferred to act mischievous and laid-back.
( Sure! So I'm assuming Whitequill and Sandyrose are coming back into the roleplay now? Do you want to start it, or...? )

( Maybe you can edit it in gimp? Or ms paint? Just use the paint bucket tool on it? I'm not sure how it would look though.
Ooooo' yes, I like it. )
Mhmm, I'm making Whitequill on he patrol. Huhu, I can start it. )
Tallmyrtle rolled his eyes, but he could feel the shiver crawling down his back at her words. "You got it, but I'll be waking you up bright and early for tomorrows patrol." He did not meet her eyes as he laughed, far too intimidated to do so. And he actually woke up early this time. Which is a huge surprise because normally he never woke up past noon. He cracked his eyes open with a large yawn escaping him. He stood up, looking down at all of the sleeping bodies surrounding him. He wished he could be like them, asleep. He used his long legs to pick his way over to Greypetal. When he got to her he flopped down beside her, nearly on top of her. His body hit her nest with a thump and stirred up moss and dry grass around them. He yawned really loudly once more. "I told you.... zzzzz...... I would wake you up early." He pulled a paw up to his eye and rubbed it. His eyes were so heavy and tired. Still filled with sleep. "Willowstep... is leading." Willowstep lead every morning patrol, as well as dawn patrol. The early-bird shecat was probably outside in the clearing right now waiting for them. And she was, she had her fur cleaned and already ate, all wide-eyed and bushy-tailed. She truly was a morning person. She waited for them all patiently, quite surprised that Tallmyrtle actually came to her saying he wanted to be on the patrol. Willowstep thought that maybe he had finally cleaned up his act. She wholeheartedly agreed with him and the cats he chose, going easy on him this time around. Back in the den Tallmyrtle pressed his sleepy muzzle to Greypetal's ear, muttering groggily, "You.. go tell Sandyrose that Willowstep wants her in our patrol group." His voice was all deep and scratchy with sleep. He could hardly formulate sentences in his half-asleep state. Tallmyrtle would probably force himself to perk up once he was in perimeter of Sandyrose. He had actually planned on how to get her on the patrol. He would ask Willowstep to host the patrol, and politely tell her who volunteered. Then, he would get Greypetal to tell Sandyrose in the morning that Willowstep wanted her on patrol. That way, Sandyrose would have to go. But if he told Sandyrose himself she would probably guess his bluff and fake an excuse not to go because he was on it. But through this plan, she would never know. Now if only he could find the strength in his asleep paws to pry himself out of the warriors den.

( I'll give it a shot and see how it works out. :3
Hmm, I may have Sparkheart lead the DewClan patrol! That'd be interesting! > )
Graypetal jerked awake, her yellow eyes wide and her ears perked when another body crashed into her nest. For a wild moment, she thought she was under attack and looked around frantically, before dropping her gaze down to see a half-asleep Tallmyrtle pressed against her flank. StarClan, the tomcat had almost fallen on top of her! She pulled herself to her feet, blinking the sleep out of her eyes and parting her jaws around a huge yawn. She was much more used to waking up early than him, obviously. "You look horrible," Graypetal commented offhandedly, observing his sleep-deprived state. "Hey, you wanted this, so get up already. Try not to almost fall on anyone else while you're at it, if you can." With that, the gray tabby stepped out of her nest and made her way across the den of sleeping cats toward the nest near the back, where a small ball of pale reddish-brown fur was curled up and still fast-asleep. "Hey," Graypetal prodded the she-cat on the shoulder. Sandyrose stirred and grumbled softly in her sleep, but didn't awake. Graypetal's whiskers twitched, and she prodded again, a bit harder this time. "Wake up." Sandyrose lifted her head as she felt a hard prodagainst her shoulder, her light green eyes blinking open. Still sleepy, she turned her head to see Graypetal looming over her nest with a glint in her yellow eyes. This brought her back to her senses, and she sat up in her nest. She looked at Graypetal warily. "What?" She asked, smoothing down the tuft of fur on her shoulder with her tongue. Her tone was clipped, but that was generally how she spoke to anyone. Graypetal wasn't her favourite cat by any means, mostly because she found her attitude to be bothersome. But, she was at least more tolerable than some of the cats in MistClan. Except for when she poked fun at her height - then all Sandyrose wanted to do was smack her a couple of times. "Willowstep wants the both of us on the border patrol this morning," Graypetal informed her, "you'd better get out there, I bet she's already waiting for us." With that, the gray tabby turned and picked her way around the sleeping cats until she slipped out of the den and out of Sandyrose's view. With a little huff, the pale reddish-brown she-cat climbed to her paws, and followed after Graypetal, but at a slower pace. On the way past a certain nest, bright green eyes opened briefly to look at who was moving around so early in the morning - and Sandyrose's body tensed, before she tore her gaze away pointedly and strode away quickly with her head high. Those green eyes followed her all the way out, regret lingering in their hues, before Emberlight slowly lowered her head back onto her nest and tried not to think too much about it.

( Do it! I want to see what happens. Also, I made two more cats. I might let them be on Whitequill's patrol if that's okay? They'll only be background characters though and not do much of anything.
Snowblossom – White cat with light brown Siamese markings that cover her legs, ears, and face. Her white fur looks dirty but its actually just brown. When she was younger her fur looked snowy, but over time it has become increasingly darker. Her eyes are a light blue.
Gingerfeck - Pale ginger tomcat with light amber eyes. Quite small and very chubby for a DewClan cat. Is deaf in his right ear. Has claw marks on both thighs. Tail is abnormally shorter, half the length of a normal tail. )
Tallmyrtle put his paw over both of his eyes to block out everything. He muttered to himself, "I am beautiful.." His paw slid down his muzzle and landed in the nest. His eyes fluttered open when he felt Greypetal left his side, blue eyes shining in the darkness of the den. He watched Greypetal make her way to Sandyrose. His ears strained lightly to hear their conversation in the quiet snore of the den. He felt a tiny bit more awake now. He couldn't see Sandyrose in the crowd of sleeping cats from his position on the floor. But he could already feel his heart fluttering. He had not been on a patrol with Sandyrose in forever. He could not even remember the last time he had been on one with her. Mostly because he never went on patrols, and she had always avoided going on patrols with him. He waited as both of them excited, he could notice her unease and wondered if she had noticed his staring. It struck him quickly that it was another cat's gaze that she was worried about, Emberlight. He could see the glow of her eyes in the den. Tallmyrtle did not question it one bit as he slowly stood back up, trying to avoid drawing anymore attention to himself. He shook out his pelt, making a little bit of noise as scraps of moss floated back down into the nest. He attempted to make his maze through the warriors den, slipping through the thin gaps like a shadow. When he needed to be quiet and sneaky he definitely could. He walked into the morning sun out of the shelter of the den. The coldness and morning smell hit him like a brick. He had forgotten all together what the morning air felt like. It felt fresh and new, and everything smelled wonderful.
Willowstep watched Greypetal and Sandyrose file out of the den. Her yellow eyes squinted as she noticed the missing Tallmyrtle. Her scorn softened when she saw him slip out of the den after them. She stood up from her spot in the clearing, her tail held high as a sign of greeting but her face was stern and serious. She was not going to let this patrol be a doozy just because Tallmyrtle was on it, it was going to run smoothly as any other patrol and she would make sure of that. She did not have to worry about Greypetal or Sandyrose, or so she hoped, she mostly focused on Tallmyrtle.

( That's fine! I have no problem with it.
Oooo and now I'm juggling three characters at once! XD It's been a while since I've been in control over more than two characters at a time! )
Sandyrose padded across the clearing toward Willowstep, a bit behind Graypetal. It went without saying that most of her clanmates could walk faster than her by defualt because of their longer legs, but she did a pretty good job at keeping up. Sometimes it put a bit of strain on her muscles though, because that meant she had to force her legs to work harder. But she refused to be outdone, even with something like this. Proving that she was just as good as any other warrior was something she strived for every day. Someday she would be everyone's equal, and she would not rest until she was. Sandyrose's ears picked up on Graypetal greeting Willowstep as they got closer, and she mumbled out her own quiet, 'good morning' as she stood next to the two other she-cats. Before she could even think about relaxing though, another cat padding toward their group caught her attention, and she balked a little at the sight of Tallmyrtle. What in the name of StarClan was he doing awake so early? Her green eyes stared at him for a moment, before she turned back to Willowstep, intent on ignoring him as much as she could. Sandyrose couldn't shake the suspicion that this whole arrangement seemed a little... off. Graypetal was here, which wouldn't have meant anything if it wasn't for the fact that the gray tabby was often seen talking to Tallmyrtle. Had he roped her into aiding him in his pursuit? Her whiskers twitched, and she cast a side look at Graypetal. Graypetal could feel Sanyrose's gaze on her, but didn't turn her head to return the look. Her tail twitched though, a sure sign that she thought Sandyrose was catching on, or at least had suspicions. She turned her head to look at Tallmyrtle as he joined them, her yellow eyes blank and void of emotion. Yet somehow she still looked like she was accusing him of something. Then she glanced away with another twitch of her whiskers, stifling a sudden small burst of laughter. Of course, this wasn't going to go as smoothly as Tallmyrtle thought, would it? Sandyrose was often one to avoid talking to her clanmates if she could help it, but she wasn't stupid. Graypetal knew that. Why did she say she was going to do this again? Oh right, because she had some ridiculous feeling of obligation to help her friend in some way. And hey, if his plan backfired and got them in trouble with DewClan, she would just act like she knew nothing of what he was doing. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It was early, and Sparkheart was pacing part of the DewClan camp idly as he waited for the warriors assigned to his patrol to join him. Every once in a while he would stop to claw at the ground in a bored fashion, lifting his gaze to the somewhat dark early morning sky. His eyes would then flashed to the warriors' den, before he would start pacing again.

( Same! It's so many! But it's kind of fun at the same time too? I like having a good plot going && no awkward silences where the RP gets dull. Clan RPs are always so difficult because there are just too many people replying at once. When you have control of all the cats it's much easier.
Can I theorize that Willowstep and Sparkheart both go on patrols at the same time everyday so they can met each other? I just think it would be more than just a coincidence that they run into each other.
Oh my goodness poor Sanyrose. )
"Good morning, everyone," Tallmyrtle mewed. He smirked at Greypetal and glanced at Sandyrose briefly before directing his eyes to Willowstep. As if he could not concentrate on one cat at once. His brain was still all mushy with sleep. "Isn't the morning weather just great?" Willowstep flicked her tail coyly behind her, "You would know it if you stepped outside once in a while, Tallmyrtle." Willowstep could feel that the aura of the patrol was kind of off. Which is what sparked her to use humor to lighten up the atmosphere, joking comes rarely from her. She knew something was not right then Tallmyrtle said he wanted to be on morning patrol. She was also slightly concerned for the way Sandyrose was acting. The tall black tomcat just stuck his tongue out at her sadly true remark, not saying anything more. 'So far so good,' he shrugged to himself mentally. 'Could be better though.' The deputy began walking the three through the patrol order. "We travel to the border, walk up and down the stream and then come directly back. I do not want anyone dragging their paws or hunting on our way there. We leave that stuff to the hunting patrol." She seemed overly serious this time around. Not that she doubted they did not know how to patrol but she wanted her to know how she liked it to go. Although, she did slightly doubt Tallmyrtle. "You all walk behind me single file, do I make myself clear?" Her voice and attention was focused on Tallmyrtle specifically. He nodded, just tired and ready to get moving, he did not need any of this treatment. Willowstep looked her team up and down, "Well then, I guess we are all ready to go then. Let's not dilly-dally then." She begun padding out of the camp, not giving another glance behind her shoulder as she expected them to follow. "Geez, a bit nit-picky, huh?" Tallmyrtle leaned in and whispered to the two other shecats once Willowstep was a fair distance away. He only began walking when he heard the tabby shecat call for them to keep up.
The rest of Sparkheart's patrol came out of the den one by one. Whitequill was first. He looked slightly tired but overall happy to be out of the stuffy warriors den and out into the cool air. He padded up to Sparkheart warily, his head bowed down as he approached the deputy. Whitequill had quickly taken noticed to the claw marks on the ground and did not say anything when he stood next to Sparkheart silently. Gingerfleck and Snowblossom padded out of the den as a pair. Gingerfleck's fur was a mess and all over the place in weird angles. He looked like he walked through a bush with all of the moss in his fur. Snowblossom seemed awake enough, her belly had a small bump where she was carrying kits, yet she insisted on continuing her warrior duties until she was physically unable to do so. Or until Softclaw got onto her and forced her into the nursery. "Good morning," Snowblossom chirped. "Mornin'" Gingerfleck said behind her, his speech slurred a little bit.

( I couldn't agree more. I haven't done a Clan roleplay in a long time pretty much because things always moved too fast and it was hard to wedge a character into whatever plot that was already incorporated into the roleplay, -_-
Yeah, that's how I figured it was too. That way they can also fake little border spats to keep suspicion off of them while they plot against their Clans, haha. )
"Got it," Graypetal agreed easily to Willowstep's words, always willing to follow the orders of her superiors. Though it was mostly because she just couldn't be bothered to argue with authority - it was easier to just go with the flow, as long as it didn't impact her negatively in any way. She was a rather easygoing cat after all, even if her personality and antics weren't always appreciated. The gray tabby cast one more look at Tallmyrtle at his remark of Willowstep, before she also began to follow after the deputy. "She's always that way," she muttered back to him, making sure the she-cat still couldn't hear them, "but you wouldn't know that, would you?" She smirked at him deviously, and raised her voice on this part, so any cat around could hear her, "since you always sleep though morning patrols into the afternoon. I'm really surprised you managed to drag yourself outta your nest this morning... though you did almost fall on me, you were so tired."
Sandyrose, who was padding just behind Tallmyrtle and Graypetal couldn't help but snort aloud in amusement at the gray tabby's obvious attempt to call out his bad habits and embarrass him in front of the Clan. If there was any cat who could expose Tallmyrtle for who he really was, it was Graypetal. The she-cat was as merciless toward her friend as she was in a fight. It was one of the reasons why Sandyrose didn't completely dislike Graypetal. If only the other she-cat didn't poke fun at her height, then maybe they'd be friends... As the patrol headed out, Sandyrose couldn't keep her surprise to herself as the four of them crossed paths with none other than Shadepelt and Thistlestar, the two obviously returning to camp while they were on their way out. She dipped her head to them and felt Shadepelt's orange gaze pause on her for a moment, before Thistlestar's voice spoke up, "Border patrol? Good on you." He scanned over the patrol with his eyes briefly, and meowed, "be careful and stay vigilant. Be wary of who you trust." Did his eyes linger on Willowstep for a moment, or was that Sandyrose's imagination? He turned and went on his way with those ominous words, and Shadepelt followed, but not before growling out at the patrol, "And do try not to get yourselves injured or killed." As he padded away, he uttered aloud to himself, "I'm getting too old for all these reckless mouse-brains thinking they're invincible," and Thistlestar's cool voice replying, "Then maybe you should retire," before they were completely out of earshot. Sandyrose could only stare after them over her shoulder, wondering where both MistClan's leader and medicine cat could have gone this early, any why. His warning sent a shiver up her spine as well.
( A bit of an explanation for this - Shadepelt had a troubling vision, and when he mentioned it to Thistlestar, it had him perturbed enough to pay a sudden visit to the moonstone/pool place with Shadepelt to get some clarifaction, without telling anyone else. In short, he left with the knowledge that something dark is on the verge of taking hold of both Clans' territories, but he doesn't know what or who. He also may or may not be suspicious of Willowstep now, XD )
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Sparkheart lifted lowered his gaze from the sky as the warriors gathered around him. He examined each of them for a moment before meowing, "You'll all do." He then turned his gaze to the camp exit. "I assume you all know how border patrols work, but I'll give you the rundown anyway." His whiskers twitched in amusement, before his voice went serious, "when we reach the stream, we'll check our border markings and replace them if we have to. Keep watch for MistClan cats, make sure there are no breaches. Got it? Okay." The golden-brown tabby's tail flicked a few times, before he grinned at his patrol. "Now come on, wake up," he flicked his gaze at Gingerfleck, "and let's get a move on." He turned and began an even trot out of camp, taking the lead and expecting them to fall into step behind him. His presence had a certain air, one that commanded respect and loyalty, but at the same time also managed to draw cats in, have them thinking that he was both the perfect deputy and the perfect friend and ally. He exuded strength, but was also somehow approachable.

( So true, you are exactly right. Plus I hate those clans that want your characters to match a certain description. Like, they want all of the cats to look the same. idk how to put it.
Fufufufu. Willowstep chose to go with Tallmyrtle's plan because she knew he was bound to start a fight at the border. Gosh, I love it. )
"Oh Ha Ha," Tallmrtle said sarcastically, catching the sound of Sandyrose's laughter. He couldn't help but smile a bit at his own misery, because at least it made Sandyrose happy. He froze up in place when they exited camp. He made a large distance between himself and Thistestar, giving the leader a lot of room to walk by. Ever since the gathering Tallmyrtle has been more on edge around the leader. Willowstep did not say a single word as Thistlestar and Shadepelt passed through. Her yellow gaze was cool and affirmative. What he said struck her at her core, but she did not let onto it. She needed to discuss this with Sparkheart quickly, something was off. And she did not like one bit that Shadepelt was hanging around the leader. When a leader and medicine cat were conversating it always lead to some bad thing. She looked ahead and into the trees, listening for them to russtle the bushes upon entering camp. Willowstep noticed that it was getting darker outside, storm clouds were coming in, yet they may be far off enough for them to make it to the border and back home in time before the rain. Or snow. She prayed that it would not snow, she dreaded Leafbare. Willowstep looked over her shoulder at her patrol, straight faced and bitter "You heard Shadepelt, better listen to him. Anyways, let's not hold up the patrol any longer." She flicked her tail and began walking. She could already feel her paws growing damp and cold. Tallmyrtle had his ears back on his head and his tail low to the ground. He checked Sandyrose and Greypetal, seeing if their reactions to this encounter matched his own. While he tried to gather himself back together.
( Ooooo' I like it. Making him suspicious. Adding that tension. )
Whitequill glanced at Gingerfleck and Snowblossom before quickly following the deputy. He did not miss a step as he quickly fell behind Sparkheart's lead. He checked once more at the rest of the patrol behind him, noticing that the two cats were lagging behind just a tad. Both of them whispering to each other their concerns. Gingerfleck mewing to Snowblossom how she should be in the nursery and Snowblossom muttering to Gingerfleck how he was too tired to be doing this. Whitequill did not try to strain his ears to listen, but instead focused on his surroundings. The snowy white tomcat enjoyed the DewClan scenery, the mornings were quite pleasant. He liked listening to the forest come to life with the rise of the sun. Though the sky was a soft stormy grey this time around. He sensed rain coming too.

( Yeah, I know what you mean. O.O I never joined those.
Hehe, these two deputies are conniving scheming little devils, aren't they? Too bad Sparkheart's gonna try to kill Willowstep later on, XD I picture it not as like a preplanned thing, more like one day he woke up and realized he really didn't want or need her anymore so he decides to get rid of her, haha. )
Graypetal met Tallmyrtle's gaze with one of confusion and mild concern, while Sandyrose kept glancing back over her shoulder at where the two tomcats had disappeared into camp. Neither of them looked like they knew what was going on, but Graypetal was the first to get over it, shaking out her pelt and overtaking Tallmyrtle so she was walking directly behind the deputy. Sandyrose was a bit more hesitant, looking over her shoulder one last time before meeting Tallmyrtle's eyes for a split moment. Her light green eyes were enigmatic, but swimming with thoughts and questions - and then she looked away, continuing on with the patrol. Graypetal was strangely quiet as they trekked through the pine forest, but soon broke the silence with a meow of, "we're probably going to get rained on." She cast a look at Tallmyrtle, back to her usual self, "hey, if it starts thundering and lightning, you're going to be the one who gets struck first. You're the tallest, after all. The rest of us will make our escape while you're being fried." Sandyrose rolled her eyes at Graypetal's antics. It was unlikely that Tallmyrtle would be struck by lightning, since there were so many tall trees surrounding them. But she couldn't help but become entertained by the image in her mind, and she fought the urge to smile. It wasn't nice to laugh at the idea that a clanmate getting struck by lightning. Even if it was Tallmyrtle.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Sparkheart lead his patrol over the moors, staying alert and cautious, though he knew there was no reason to even begin getting worked up until they got close to the border. He was aware of the quiet conversation taking place between Gingerfleck and Snowblossom, but all he did was call over his shoulder to them, "Keep up now. We'll be reaching the stream soon." Whitequill was also being quiet, Sparkheart noticed. Though that wasn't entirely uncommon. For a moment, the deputy didn't say anything - and then he glanced over his shoulder to look at the white tomcat. "Admiring the scenery, are you?" A friendly look passed over his face. "Mornings are always so peaceful... my favourite time of day."

( Oh my goodness, that is brutal but very true. Haha, I love them.
XD I'm sorry but I get such a good kick out of Greypetal. I love her. I'm done, Sparkheart is too nice, don't do this to me. He cannot be evil for I love him. Gosh, all of your cats are so lovable.
Awh! Cute new profile picture! Is that your kitty? )
Tallmyrtle quickly gathered himself from the whole Thsitlestar scene, now just plain shocked by Greyrain. "Tch, I would never." His eyes narrowed down in anger. He took a few steps froward and stepped on Greypetal's heel to get her back for her actions. After doing that he took a few steps foreword so he could walk side by side of her to give her a message. He leaned close to her ear. And through angry clenched teeth he whispered, "Stop being a dungface and making me look like a doofus." His voice was loud for a whisper from how outraged he was. Tallmyrtle was just not having it this time around. "Get back in line!" Willowstep got onto them for being bunched up instead of single file. She shook her head, muttering some brief out-loud thoughts under her breath. This was a mistake on her part. Tallmyrtle gave Greypetal one last glare before slowing his gait and falling back in line. He thought this whole line thing was stupid, they were being treated like kits. It was degrading. Tallmyrtle tried to resist the urge to look behind him at Sandyrose, the urge was strong. He was still huffy and stepped on Greypetal's heel once more, sticking out his tongue while doing it. Willowstep could see the border in the distance, where the trees filed out and the marsh met moorland and birch. She continued to pad on. The deputy wondered how soon Sparkheart would get here. Or if he had already come by and left, and they had missed him completely.
Whitequill snapped back into the present. He stood up straighter in surprised at the suddenly started small-talk but then let his shoulders sag with embarrassment. He let out a guilty laugh. "Haha, yeah, I can't help it." He nodded his head to that, "They really are, are they not?" He took one more quick look around the area and sighed. He was taken aback that anyone spoke to him, specially the deputy. He just was not used to cats openly approaching him to have a conversation. Whitequill blamed it on the deputy not wanting an awkward silence all the way to the stream. A voice from the back spoke up, it was Gingerfleck, "Do you think after we're done we can hunt a little? I dunno' just thinking about stocking up before the snow comes." He shrugged his shoulders, rare for him to think about preparations for the future. He mostly just wanted breakfast, but also he wasn't wrong about Leafbare preparation. "I rather just go home," Snowblossom mewed, her voice tiny and tired.

( So do I, haha. <3
Thanks! XD I love creating characters with real, solid personality. I guess it shows. I almost wish Sparkheart didn't have to be evil either... he's just so nice on the surface! Speaking of, I adore yours as well! Tallmyrtle has grown on me more than I expected him to! And Whitequill is just precious, <3
Yeah, her name's Pebbles. She actually passed away a few years ago, but she was there all throughout my life as I was growing up. I found the picture saved onto my laptop so I thought I'd use it for my profile picture. A nice way to remember her. )
Graypetal looked over her shoulder at Tallmyrtle and just smirked mischievously at him, knowing she was getting on his nerves. But really, why should he be surprised by this? She had only agreed to come along on the border patrol, not make his life easier by praising him in front of Sandyrose. However, when she felt him step on her heel the most recent time, she made sure to lash her tail when he did, slapping him across the face with the fluffy gray tail. "Yeah, back in line Tallmyrtle," she hissed in a quiet voice only he could hear, turning her head to look at him, her upper lip curling in a mocking fashion. "Keep your feet to yourself." Sandyrose blinked at the antics of the two cats in front of her, and she couldn't help but wonder how close those two actually were. They acted like an old quarreling couple sometimes - why couldn't Tallmyrtle go after Graypetal instead? Those two certainly had some kind of chemistry going on, even if it wasn't apparent to them. In her opinion, they'd make a great couple, as long as it meant he'd be out of her fur. When they reached the border, Sandyrose couldn't help but keep glancing across the stream, wondering what Whitequill was doing right then. Not long after she thought this, a patrol on the opposite side of the water came into view - four cats, just like theirs, but one of them was all white, and had soft pink eyes. Oh no. Her whiskers twitched, and she prayed to StarClan that Tallmyrtle would keep himself in check.

"I remember the first time I saw our territory as an apprentice," Sparkheart meowed conversationally as they got closer to the border, "it was a border patrol just like this one. I was so excited, I fell into the stream. My brother laughed and laughed." His eyes took on a melancholic glow, before he snapped back to reality. He grinned again. "Those were the days." Sparkheart's ears twitched, hearing Gingerfleck's question. He considered it for a moment. "If the patrol goes well, perhaps we can take the time to catch a little something to bring back," he answered, and then glanced back at Snowblossom. His keen eyes looked her over, and he shook his head. "You should've stayed in camp. You don't ant to wear out your body, it'd be bad for your kits and your body." Whatever else he may have had to say was never uttered, because the patrol came across the stream at that moment. His amber eyes scanned up and down the shore on the opposite side, and sure enough, Willowstep was there, leading her own patrol of four cats. "Come on," he said to the warriors, "let's just get this over with and get back home."

( Awawaw, thank yew. Even Though Tallmyrtle is designed to be a bad guy. aaaa
I'm sorry about that. She lived a long happy life with you as her owner. She looks like a very sweet kitty. )
Tallmyrtle crinkled his nose when they met the stream. "Smells like something died here. Oh wait. It's just DewClan stench." He paced the border of the stream, watching the distance for any border patrols on the opposite side of the river. Willowstep began marking the border while the other three did not seem to be doing very much in means of helping. This group was a complete bust, unless she could get Tallmyrtle to start a border skirmish he was useless. Yes, a border skirmish would work well, distract Thistlestar from whatever medicine cat guff Shadepelt had told him. Now if only Sparkheart would show his face around here. Tallmyrtle batted at the fish in the water, not really planning on hunting. But he liked to scare them away with his shadow or water vibrations when he dabbed his paw into the water, watching them all go flying in opposite directions to avoid him. Until he looked up from his fishy distraction to see an opposing patrol. He snickered to himself, lashing his tail behind him. "Gross, look over there, DewClan cats," he remarked loudly. Willowstep looked up when she heard Tallmyrtle exclaim that there were DewClan cats in the area. Sure enough he was, for once, right. She was relieved that Sparkheart had showed up and that they had not missed him.
Sparkheart's story reminded Whitequill of yesterday, Sandyrose had fallen into the stream and he just laughed. Now that he thought about it, they were nearing the border where they met. His train of thought started going in the opposite direction, he wondered if Sandyrose would still meet him today or if she would stand him up. Not that he minded, he understood if she did. Maybe she did not like him and was just pretending to be nice. She was nice. Or she was busy, she had her own clan to take care of, didn't need to be bothering with other clan affairs. He sighed to himself at everything that could go wrong. Snowblossom stayed a little ways behind the stream, she did not dare go up to the edge. She was feeling tired and could very easily snap at any of these warriors. She sat down in the grass, staring down the other patrol across the stream. Gingerfleck helped mark the border, not making any eye contact with the other cats. He pretended they were not even there. Whitequill, however, could not ignore the MistClan cats like that. At first he noticed the strikingly tall black tomcat, he could hear his loud snarky remarks all the way from his position. He smirked when he called them gross. But his smirk faded away when he noticed Sandyrose. It was hard not to notice her next to that tall tomcat. She was so tiny. He pried his gaze away from the group, trying not to stare for too long. He did not want anyone to notice. Yet he wondered if she had noticed him too.

( Tallmyrtle's just so arrogant and full of himself that I can't help but love him and hate him at the same time, haha.
Thanks, <3 She was very sweet, but she absolutely hated our other cat, Oliver. He would always pester her, and he would always end up with scratch marks on his nose after. He never learned his lesson, haha. She wasn't the kind of cat to mess around with. )
Sandyrose rolled her eyes at Tallmyrtle's immaturity, finding him exasperating to be around. She should have known that he wouldn't be able to keep his loud mouth shut. She shot him a look, annoyance dancing in her light green eyes, before she turned to look at the DewClan cats again. Rather, she was looking at Whitequill, confliction drowning out her irritation for Tallmyrtle. She really didn't want to fight him, though for the life of her, she just couldn't figure out why it mattered so much. It wasn't like they could just forget they were on opposite sides and make friends with each other. It didn't work that way. But still - Tallmyrtle seemed to be itching to provoke the other patrol. She really hoped nothing bad would happen. Graypetal looked out over the water, examining the DewClan cats. She was relatively uninterested in them, unlike Tallmyrtle. Her eyes lingered on the powerful-looking golden brown tabby tom, recognizing him as DewClan's deputy. Her tail twitched, and she sidled up next to the tall black tomcat to hiss in his ear, "You do realize who you're provoking, right? That's Sparkheart... you know, their deputy?" She wasn't entirely convinced that it would even matter to him, though. He seemed dead-set on showing off to Sandyrose. Graypetal's yellow gaze moved over to the small she-cat, noticing that she had begun to mark the border as well, but she looked distracted for some reason, and she kept glancing across the stream at the DewClan patrol.

Sparkheart briefly met the gaze of Willowstep, knowing what her intention was. They were to start a border skirmish. His eyes flickered over the cats who had come along with him - none of them seemed particularly raring for a fight, but when he cast his gaze over to Willowstep's patrol, he saw that the tall black tomcat was clearly itching to start something. His whiskers twitched. He could work with that. He glanced over at Whitequiil, and gestured to him to help with the borders. "The faster we get this done, the faster we can leave. Come on." He cast a look over at the other patrol again, and spoke up to his own patrol in a voice that wasn't obviously loud, but loud enough to carry across, "don't waste your time and energy on them. A mere MistClan patrol isn't worth getting all riled up over." He was sure that this would get some sort of response out of the tall tomcat, and that was his goal. It appeared on the surface that he was just offering reassurance and support to his clanmates, but in reality, his motives were not nearly that innocent.

( Same here. x3
Oh my! Haha, do you have any pictures of Oliver? : O )
"Oh really? He's the deputy?" Tallmyrtle said quite loudly, faking mock surprise. "I didn't even know he was deputy, he doesn't even look like deputy material! Bah!" Tallmyrtle turned to face the other patrol, sneering. "I could be a better deputy!" He laughed whole-heartedly to himself. His tail held up high and waving behind him. He thought he was the greatest thing in the world currently. He looked around for Sandyrose, but she was not even paying any attention to him. He made a small hurrumph sound, he could not believe she was ignoring him.
Willowstep padded alongside the border, nearing dangerously close to the other patrol. Tallmyrtle decided to follow behind her, trotting in her step and sticking his tongue out at the other patrol as he walked by with a small, "Neh," sound escaping him. Willowstep looked dead serious. She would have claw off Tallmyrtle's face if she was not busy trying to signal the other deputy. She was kinking her tail and then unkinking it over and over again. Seeing if she could get his attention with just a simple tail gesture. "You guys are just makin' excuses because you're just a bunch of big ol' wimps!" His taunts were directed at Sparkheart. As if too say, just because he is a deputy doesn't make him any better.
Snowblossom had finally had enough, she was not going to sit back and take this treatment. She stood up and began marching over to Tallmyrtle, both Gingerfleck and Whitequill tried to hold her back but she walked right through them, shouting over the border in a snarky tone she said, "Hey, maybe ya'll should put a leash on that dog of yours! He seems to be getting out of hand!" She held her head up high at her good comeback. While Whitequill had his ears flattened back on his head and expecting the worse. Why did this have to happen? He wanted anything but this right now. He would rather have anything but this. His fearful gaze landed on Sandyrose. He decided that if a fight starts he would stay on the opposite of the battle field, the farthest away from Sandyrose. He could not help but smirk to himself, he wondered if she would use the fighting tip he taught her. Gingerfleck fluffed up his fur, not trying to look intimidating or anything. He was just scared and it was instinctual. His half-tail looked comedic when it was spiked up.
